In recently, though the development of antiwashout admixture, if's possible to construct in underwater with the concrete which is improved segregation resistance of material, filling and self-leveling. It is generally to use this method with Europe and Japan as the central figure, and also the construction case is reported in korea. There's some advantages to add the fly ash in plain concrete. The objective of this study is to find the characteristics of fresh underwater antiwashout concrete which is followed by the blend rate of fly ash.

Recently, it is very necessary the development of the manufacturing techniques for high strength concrete(HSC) for the large-scale size and good quality of civil structure. But, the manufacture and quality control of HSC of which shrinkage, heat of hydration and workability at construction filed are considered, is very difficult due to its low water-cement ratio and high quantity of unit cement content. In the present study, we tried to know and assess the influences of chemical and physical properties of cement on the material properties of HSC. We analyzed basic properties of 4 kinds of cement whose chemical and physical properties are different each other through various tests such as chemical analysis and mortal test. Also, we performed the assessment of the material properties of HSC for each dement by the test for the conditions of same mix design and similar compressive strength. From the results in the study, the assessment of the important quality factors of cement influencing the properties of HSC may be utilized to quality control of applied cement to manufacture the HSC of high quality.

The performance of high-strength concrete is controlled by the fact, affecting the quality management, especially by revision error in water content of the ratio of surface moisture in fine aggregate. The difference in water content results from the revision error of the ratio of surface moisture and errors in sampled aggregate in the processing ready-mixed concrete plant. This study is to investigate the properties of flowing and hardening by investionally varying the revision error of the ratio of surface moisture in fine aggregate to compare and analyze the variance in quality.

This experimental study was carried out to estmate the effects of mixing dosage rate and blain on the compressive strength properties of antiwashout underwater concrete admixed with finely ground granulated blast furnace slag. The experimental parameters are slag contents(0, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60%). As a result the compressive strength have a high correlation with slag blended ratio. Thus, it is possible to calculate the modulus of modified age using compressive strength of antiwashout underwater concrete blended with slag.

Potentially significant engineering advantages can be gained by the incorporation of steel fibers in tension-weak concrete. A variety of tests have been developed to measure and quantify the improvements achievable in steel fiber reinforced concrete. An objective of the study is to experimentally investigate the flexural fatigue behavior of steel-reinforced concrete with a experimental variables such as steel fiber types. To predict the behavior of steel reinforced structural componets under fatigue conditions.

Recently, great efforts and investment have been made in order to achieve economical production by applying new methods like minimization of man-power into construction field. Therefore in this study, we have been focused on the development and practical using of high of high flowing concrete with fly ash, superplasticizer and viscocity agent, also we find out the optimum mix proportions to accomplish good wuality high flowing concrete. The results of this study show that high flowing concrete with the ratio of fly ash replacement of 20%, viscosity agent of 300g/㎥ and superplsticizer 2.0%(C
$\times$ %) in W/B of 35, 45% has better performance than the high flowing concrete without fly ash replacement -
In order to estimate strength of concrete, many attempts have been made. However, it is difficult to estimate concrete strength with ages. In this study, the factors influencing the strength of concrete such as w/c ratio and curing temperature, were investigated and results predicted by the established strength models were compared to measured strength data. It is found that in general the estimated values are approximate to the test results. In order to accurately predict the concrete strength curing temperature factor should be employed in the strength models.

The test specimen proposed in this study, named the bimaterial eccentric compression specimen, is a rectangular prism of two dissimilar materials with a notch at their interface. Normalized energy release rates and phase angles were calibrated with the finite element method. The normalized energy release rate increases with notch ratio but decreases with E2/E2, loading point, and phase angle, Bimaterial specimens consisting of mortar and ploymer as well as mortar and rock were prepared and tested to simulate fracture behavior ar the interface. Test results have confirmed that initial notch has significant effect on the apparent interfacial toughness.

This paper is dealt with the ways of the improvement of the surface glossing of exposed concrete through the construction field test. The field applied in this test is located at Daechon, Chungnam province where the service training institute of Chongju university has been built. The flowing method is applied. According to the test results, as water to cement ratio, or slump increase after flowed, surface glossing tends to be improved. As for the effects of the forms typer, following orders, which is shown to be better surface glossing values, are given; Acryle > fancy wood forms > steel forms > plywood forms.

In this paper, setting and mechanical properties of cement mortar using retarding agents are investigated. According to the experimental results, as dosage of retarding agents increases, flow and ar content of mortar are shown to be higher. Flow loss of mortar using retarding type water reducing agents is larger than that using gluconic acid by 3 times. As for setting time it is found that mortar using gluconic acid takes much longer setting time than that using retarding type water reducing agent. In case of compressive strength, when retarding agent is applied, cement mortar gains high strength compared with that of plain mortar. However, we can not measure compressive strength of cement mortar contaning more than 0.6% of gluconic acid.

In this paper, physical properties of planting concrete using Recycled aggregates made with demolished concrete and construction wastes are investigated. According to the test results. It shows that recycled aggregates made with demolished concrete and construction wastes have low physical properties compared with crushed stone. But, recycled aggregates made with construction wastes shows better performance in absorption ratio, unit weight and thermal conductivity than crushed stone. According it is thought that they are available for being applied to planting concrete considering the sides of efficient recycling of construction wastes and saving the manufacturing cost.

The purpose of this study was performed to estimate the mechanical characteristics of curing concrete affected by forced vibration. The major variables of this test were vibration method, vibration velocity and duration of vibration, The compressive strength, slip, bending strength and displacement are measured for all the cylinder paper molds and beams. The results can be summarized as follows ; 1)According to vibration, velocity(RMS), the compressive strength, bending and displacement for continual vibration increased, but for immediate vibration decreased. 2) Immediate vibration effected on concrete compressive strength, slip than continual vibration. especially in vibration velocity 3.59mm/sec(RMS; 0.624mm/sec) slip secreased 15% in continual vibration, 20% in immediate vibration.

Nondestructive tests are useful method in rapidly evaluating the condition of existing concrete structures. An objective of this work is to investigate the factors influencing the longitudinal wave velocity-strength relationship, such as w/c ratio, curing temperature, curing condition. Test results show that a change in the w/c ratio ranging from 0.46 to 0.88 and in the curing temperature from 1
$0^{\circ}C$ to 3$0^{\circ}C$ did not alter the velocity-strength relationship. however, curing methods had significant effects on the velocity-strength relationship. Therefore, the estimation of compressive strength until 28 day can be accomplished by only a nonlinear equation with consideration of curing condition. -
In this study, when ground granulated blast-furnace slag is intermixed to mortar, the strength test, watertightness test, resistance to chemical attack of hardened mortar are compared and analyzed according to the replacement rate of slag. w/(cc+Bs) and Ground Granulated Blast-furnace slag. As a result, compared with ordinary portland cement, ground granulated blast-furnace slag intermixed concrete shows development of a long term strength, chemical-resistance, and excellent watertightness.

The objective of this study is to find the long-age strength property and the compressive strength of age which is used as the specified concrete strength. The W/W ratio (45%, 50%, 55%, 60%) fine aggregate of useful river sand or blended sand(river sane : sea sand=1:1) were chosen as the experimental parameters. the experimental results show that pH(it means the material segregation resistance) & suspension were increased larger, so W/C become larger, and slump flow was increased as W/C increased (except W/C=60%), air-contents were decreased as W/C became increase and all of this results are satisfied with the under of 40%. The compressive strength ( a case use only river sand as fine aggregate) is showed less than the case of blended asnd. Because the unit weight of the blended sand is more heavy than the unit weigh of the river sand. The results of the case which haven been used only river sand, and the case have been used blended sand), both case have considered W/C. So it's possible to use the compressive strength of age 28 day like the case of plain concrete.

CFRD (Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam) face slab concrete has a much capability to occur crack due to drying shrinkage, hydration heat and bas compaction etc. Because of crack of concrete induce structural problem and decrease durability of concrete, it is need to reduce crack of concrete. This is an experimental study to analyze the Control Property of Plastic Shrinkage Crack for CFRD face slab concrete. For this purpose, it was investigated and analyzed the engineering properties of plain concrete and using admixtures (polypropylene fiber, fly-ash) according to test result As the result, it was found that crack width and area of concrete using admixtures less than of plain concrete.

To investigate the influence of kinds of cement on state of high-strength concrete, this study deals with the engineering properties of high-strength concrete used 4 kinds of ordinary portland cement. The result of this study be summarized as follows. 1) It appeared that the change in fluidity with time differ with kinds of cement. 2) The difference of setting time was seen over 3 hours according to kinds of cement. Therefore, it must be examined about used materials when high-strength concrete is manufactured in the construction field.

The purpose of this study is to examine the physical properties of water-permeable concretes. The water-permeable concrete with cement-aggregate ratios of 1:3.5 to 1:6.0 and two type of coarse aggregate size of 8~13 and 13~18mm used OPC(ordinary portland cement) as a binder and superplasticizer are prepared, and then tested for flexural strength, compressive strength, compressive strength, continuous void percentage and coefficient of water permeability. It is concluded from the test result that the superior flexural and compressive strengths, coefficient of water permeability and continuous void percentage of water-permeable concretes that use OPC were obtained at cement-aggregate ratios of 1:3.2, 1:6.0 respectively, The water-permeable concretes with coarse aggregate of 8~13 and 13~18mm size used OPC as a binder havinga flexural strength of 24.81~45.56kgf/
$\textrm{cm}^2$ , 21.99~40.62kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ , a compressive stength of 93.63~ 242kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ , 114.8~191.7.kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ , a coefficient of permeability of 0.59~1.85kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ , 0.73~ 2.25kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ , and a continuos void percentage of 16.6~26.32%, 13.52~24.35% respectively during 28 curing days. -
Concrete has been used for many years as a composite material that has excellent mechanical properties and durability for construction. However, concrete ia a poor electrical conductor, especially under dry conditions. Concrete that is excellent in both mechanical and electrical conductivity properties may have important applications in the electrical, electronic, military and construction industry (e.g for de-icing road from snow). The purpose of this investigation is to improve the electrical conductive of cement mortar preparared with graphite as filler. From the test result, as the ratio of graphite/cement increased, fluidity, fluidity and strength decreased but resistivity decreased. The resistivity of electrical conductive cement mortar is effect by water/cement ratio and water content of specimen. From this study, it is enough to assure the use of graphite as a conductive filler for electrical conducive cement mortar.

Durability characteristics of controlled low strength material(flowable fill) with high volume fly ash content was examined. The mix proportions used for flowable fill are selected to obtain low-strength material in the 10 to 15kgf/㎥ range. The optimized flowable fill was consisted of 60kgf/㎥ cement content, 280kgf/㎥ fly ash content, 1400kgf/㎥sand content, and 320kgf/㎥water content. Subsequently, durability tests including permeability warm water immersion, repeated wetting & drying, freezing & thawing for high volume fly ash-flowable fill are conducted The test results indicated that flowable fill has has acceptable durability characteristics.

The experimental study was performed to investigate the effects of centrifugal condition on the segregated layers of materials and the compressive strength of concrete for pretensioned spun high strength concrete (PHC) pile. The considering factors in the test were the centrifugal time and the magnitude of centrifugal force. These factors have been found to have found to have the great influence on the segregation and the concrete strength. The moderate centrifugal condition has to be fitted for the quality assurance in the production of PHC pile, especially to provide the adequate concrete cover over the tendons.

This study was carried out in order to investigate the relationship roundness of fly ashes and fluidity of fly ash cement paste. electrostatic precipitator system in coal-fired power plant have many successive collection fields in the direction of flue gas travel. In experiment, the roundness of fly ashes collected from the same location had similar values regardless of the load or boiler, and they increased going from the 1st collection filed to third collection filed in the direction of gas movement. In considering the relation between roundness of fly ashes and fluidity of fly ash cement paste, it has a high correlation.

The purpose of this study is to develope an accurate procedure for measuring the glass content of fly ash produced by bituminous coal to assist in predicting their behavior in concrete. Quantitative mineralogical compositions of fly ashes were obtained by internal standard method using powder X-ray diffraction analysis. In the X-ray diffraction method, the specimen and standard fluorite were cautiously mixed and pulverized to 22
$\mu$ m in wet process so as to avoid the prefered orientation of the crystal and microabsorption effect of X-ray. calibration curve were fitted for several references peaks of four phases:$\alpha$ -quartz. mullite, magnetite, hematite. The amount of glass was calculated by subtracting the amount of crystal phase and loss on ignition from the total amount. Glass content determined with this method ranged from 66.7 to 75.wt%. -
In this paper, removal times of from from concrete using OPC( Ordinary Portland Cement) and BSC(Blast-furnace Slag cement) are suggested by appling logistic curve, which evaluates the strength development of concrete with maturity. W/B, kinds of cement and curing temperatures are selected as test parameters. According to the results, the estimation of strength development by logistic curve has a good agreement between calculated values. As for the removal time of from suggested in this paper, as W/B increase, curing temperature decrease and BSC in used, removal they times of from are shown to be kept longer. Removal times of from from concrete using OPC suggested in this paper are shorter by about 2~3day than those of standard specifications provided in KCI in the rang of over
$20^{\circ}C$ , while they takes 4~5 day shorter compared with those of standard specifications Provided in KCI in the range of 10~$20^{\circ}C$ . Removal times of from for concrete using OPC are longer than those using BSC by about 1 day. -
In this paper applicabilities of coolant wastes are an admixture, which are produced from cooling line of the cars and industrial engines, to concrete under cold climate are investigated. According to the test results, as the contents f coolant wastes increase, setting time of cement mortar is shown to be delayed. However, when coolants wastes are overadded, it appears to be fast. In case of compressive strength, It tends to decline as the contents of coolant waste increase. Under low curing temperature, compressive strength of cement mortar containing coolant wasted with the increase of the contents of coolants wastes.

The objective of this paper is to investigate the properties of strength and thermal conductivity of floor cement mortal using copper fiber. Compressive strength thermal conductivity and length change are tested. According to the experimental results, compressive strength, thermal strength and thermal conductivity of mortar using copper finer are shown to be increased with increase of the contents of copper fiber and the aspect ratio. In case of length change of cement mortar using copper fiber also shows deline tendency compared with that of plain mortar.

The objective of this study is to analyze the degree of surface-glossing of cement mortar with the grading of aggregate and contents of limestone powder. According to the experimental results, degree of surface-glossing of cement mortar using river sand is higher than that of crushed sand. As F.M of aggregates is less than 2.78, degree surface-flossing of cement mortar has better performance, Also, as the contents of limestone power increase, degree of surface-flossing is shown to be improved, And it shows that degree of surface-glossing decrease with elapse of age.

This study deals with the method of test for waterproof agent and admixture of cement, and especially, the effect in bond strength between waterproofing layer and mortar of concrete substrate in building construction. The purpose of this study is that it makes the estimation value of bond strength of concrete wall and anticorrosive when coated waterproof agent and admixture of cement as waterproofing materials for durability performance estimation depend on concrete watertighness.

The optimum mix proportioning of concrete is to produce a concrete which satisfies the strength, workability and durability required with minimum component of materials. However in practice the cement content of mix proportioning in construction field is normally higher then required. In this study, the existing mix proportioning of concrete currently used in Korea Highway Corporation has been reviewed by reducing 10kg of cement content by 3~5 strength in strength and workability during the first year of this project. The optimum mix design is established based on the results of the above review and durability were examined during the second year. The experimental results though 2 year show that 103~0% of the reduction of cement content still satisfies the specified strength of concrete and produces higher durability concrete.

Recently, the anriwashout underwater concrete has been increasingly used for underwater structures such as vary high diaphrame walls of high strength massive concrete structures. In this study, experiments were made on the fundamental properties of antiwashout underwater concrete replaced with Fly Ash from 10% to 30% to improve its properties. Resultant to the test, we got the results as follows; the value of slump flow wasi ncreased, the setting, time was very delayed, and the heat evolution amount decreased, whereas the amount of suspended solids became high, and pH value became low as to increasing the replacement ratio of Fly Ash. Also the ratios of compressive strength (in water compared to in air) at 28day were obtained over 90%, and these values were satisfied with 70% of a criterion.

When fresh concrete is exposed to low temperature, the concrete may suffer from the frost damage at early ages and the strength development may be delayed. To solve such problems of cold weather concreting, admixtures called agent for enduring cold climate are developed to prevent the fresh concrete from being frozen at early ages In this study, the experiments are carried out on several kinds of agent for enduring cold climate to present their performance. According to experimental results, most kinds of agent for enduring cold climate show the satisfactory properties of decreasing the freezing point and acceleating the cement hydration in low temperature environment, which is available for placing concrete in spite of cold weather.

This study concerns the cement-solidification. stabilization of the electric furnace dust. Compressive strength and leaching test of heavy metals were evaluated for varing types and ratios of cements and the effect of some additives of hauyne clinker and slag were also discussed. In this cases of using cement binders more than 30%, the compressive strength showed the values over 150kgf/cm2. so it can be used as filler for concrete precastings. Type III cement and Hauyne clinker improved the compressive strength, especially early strength. Leaching amount of heavy metals was decreased when using type III cement and adding hauyne clinker and slag. The values were especially low in the case of slag addition.

Foamed concrete is applied ad filling, material of On-dol, bur it has much trouble in controlling the quality because of not establishing the detailed related criteria and recommendation for the construction and quality control practice. Therefore, this study will investigate the as-placed density and air content of formed slurry before hardening and its physical characteristics after hardening, analyzed the relation of each characteristic, and finally provide the proper method for the quality control foamed concrete.

A large Pc structure building is system that consisted of bearing wall and slab joint. It has general structure stability from unity thar each members tied at joint. The strength of mortar that packing in joint among panels is important to internal force in entire building system. Do, if we could get early strength estimation with microwave. It would bring good construction planning, reduce construction time, and judge building stability and so on. The purpose of this study is to develop early estimation method for making better quality control and constructing good PC panel structure. The results of this study were as follows :1) With sealed molds, reduced moisture volatilization to more than 60% and enlarged 30% accelerated compressive strength than before one. 2) To get more accelerated strength, we should control maximum temperature difference to
$30^{\circ}C$ downward 3)Interrelation with 7-day and 28-day strength were 0.831,0.902, and it is above than before one -
Although construction company try to get good quality control it's enough to study about developing objective evaluation method and checking quality method. It is important to meaning concrete quality at placing point, immediate quality checking method is limited. The purpose of this study is to develop new method to know early 28-day concrete for getting faithful quality control. In this study, to present the use of the blase furnace slag fly ash derived from a large amount of the industrial products with the early strength reduction of it prevented, the initial strength is measured after a large quantity of fly ash and the required stimulus agent for the high development of the initial strength was added in blast furnace slag cement. As the results, in spite of the much addition of fly ash in blast furnace slag, the long-age strength of blast furnace slag cement was able to be improved by a proper amount of stimulus agent, and was as high as that of ordinary portland cement.

Recently, the importation of overseas cement has been increasing and the spot materials of different quality from Japan have to be treated in overseas construction work for technical cooperation with neighboring countries. However, a study on the quality of those oversea materials has not yet been carried out systematically, especially cement among those materials. Accordingly, in this study the properties of high-strength concrete with oversea cement imported from four countries in East Asia and South-east Asia were investigated under normal and high temperature condition, including the carbonation of normal-strength concrete under normal temperature. As a result, it is found that the required of normal-strength concrete will be expected regardless of temperature condition when the flowability is ensured by selecting the appropriate superplaticizer and dosage of it, and the carbonation rate of normal-strength concrete with overseas cement is approximately the same as that with Japanese one under the condition of the same compressive strength.

As construction technology advances, most of concrete structures are becoming larger and taller. Therefore, high strength and high quality concrete is necessary for them. Nowadays, the proposal of using type IV(belite cement) is investigated to satisfy high flowing, low heat, and ho호 strength. In this study, the flow value and compressive strength of mortar were investigated according to usage of AE high range water reducer. And the slump flow value, falling time and heigth difference of concrete with beilte cement and ordinary cement were examined depending on water cement ratio, sand ratio and unit water weigth, and compressive strength to checked depending on age.

The functions of porous concrete were influenced by continuous void, and it differ greatly from the distribution and size shape of continuous void in the same void volume. And porous concrete has been few used because the strength level of porous concrete is lower than that of ordinary concrete at the present time. So the purpose of this study is to increase the strength of porous concrete at the range of satisfying its function, analyze those effects of the mixing ratio of aggregate, affecting the development of its strength.

The purpose of this study is grasping quality aggregate using Bottom Ash of Industrial Waste Incinerator, and is evaluating possibility of application as construction materials. Cement and Fly ash is used with binder of aggregates using bottom ash. It is tested for basic property and strength of artificial aggregates, and the results are compared with crushed stone and elution tests is done for environmental safety. In the results of tests, it is confirmed that basic property and strength are lowe than crushed stone but the aggregates have possibility of application as artificial lightweight aggregates. When it is manufactured with aggregates, it is sage environmentally because of protecting elution of harmful heavy metals.

Recently, the recycling of the by-products was attempted to various fields. One of the major industry, the copper manufacturing industry produced a lot slags. in this study, the copper smelting slag was used to use practically application for the aggregate of concrete. To find the optimum mixing ratio of mortar with the copper smelting slag as substitution for sand, the mixing ratio was increased 1:2 to 1:5 step by step and every mixture was contained 5 steps sand substitutive ratio. The substitutive ratio of sand was increased 25% st대 by step from 0% to 100%. The result of this study was shown as follows. 1. In the every mixture, as the substitutive ratio was increased, the flow was decrease 3.64% from 18cm, and the unit content weigth was increased 5.5% in average. 2. The property of the strength was judged that it was more affected W/C and mixing ratio than the copper smelting slag.

As a result of the reduction of natural aggregate, most of developed country have been studied the utilization of Blast-furnace Slag(BFS) as aggregate of concrete. bur, in korea there are only basic study about these even though other country are using Blast-furnace Slag production of Ready Mixed Concrete. According, in this study, we carried out fundamental experiments in order to know the material properties of BFS and possibilities of the BFS as fine aggregate of concrete. It is included that analysis concerning material properties of BFS as like specific gravity, absorption. unit weigth, grading including investigation of the surface shape by SEM, also, analysis concerning properties of concrete with BFS as like air-content surface slump. compressive strength .etc.

In this paper, we carried out fundamental experiments to use steel manufacturing slag as a concrete aggregate. Generally, there are two types of slag, the blast-furnace slag and the steel manufacturing slag. The latter is classified by the difference of manufacturing method of steel into the convertor slag and the electric-furnace slag. The steel manufacturing slag mainly contains
$SiO_2$ and CaO as the chemical composition. The reaction with water and a little of free CaO in the steel manufacturing slag made the expansion of volume change, Therefore, we primarily investigated physical properties, expansion mechanism, pH value, aging effect and aging methods in the steel manufacturing slag, Then compressive strength of concrete with steel slag aggregate is measured. -
The bridge is nation's principal structure and its influence for national economy is enormous. But it is essential for maintenance of deteriorated bridge because of the increased service life and the decreased performance. For the bridge reinforced by continuos slabs and post-tensioning, we evaluate th stress properties of girders and internal support. Results are almost coincidence between measured data in the field and analysed data by computer. We compared the effects by successive order of post- tensioning and order considered distribution of each girder's camber and stress. Bridge's camber and stress showed respectively symmetry and asymmetry shape by post tensioning order. For the effect of post-tensioning force partition, we divided the post-tensioning force into 3 types (100%, 20%, 30%), and the results show t도 difference of final stress and camber.

Nowadays, strength control is performed by test of compressive strength of concrete which is taken in construction filed. But because it is possible to confirm only compressive strength of concrete by that way, it is difficult to performing strength control pr process plan, So, if we can predict compressive strength of concrete, we can decide when shores and forms can be removed safety, plan process efficiently. This study intends to propose basic data for strength control as determination the time of forwoak removal through investigating propriety of strength prediction using Freiesleben function.

The crack of concrete induced by the heat of hydration is s serious problem, particularly in concrete structures such as bridge piers. thick walls, box type walls, mat-slab of nuclear reactor building, dams of foundations of high rise buildings, etc. As a result of the temperature rise and restriction condition of foundation, the thermal stress which way induce the cracks can occur. Therefore the various techniques of the thermal stress control in massive concrete have been widely used. One of them is prediction of the thermal stress, besides low-heat cement which mitigates the temperature rise, design change which consider steel bar reinforcement, operation control and so on. In this study, firstly it introduce the thermal cracks control technique by employing low-heat cement concrete, thermal stress analysis, Secondly it shows the application of the cracks control technique like the bottom of No.15,16 Underground LNG Tank in Inchon.

Pipe cooling method is widely used for reduction of hydration heat and control of cracking in mass concrete structures. However, in order to effectively apply pipe cooling systems to concrete structure, the coefficient of flow convection relating the thermal transfer between inner stream of pipe and concrete must be estimated. In this study, a device measuring the coefficient of flow convection is developed. Since a variation of thermal distribution caused by pipe cooling has a direct effect in internal forced flows, the developed testing device is based on the internal forced flow concept. Influencing factors on the coefficient of flow convection are mainly flow velocity, pipe diameter and thickness, and pipe material. finally a prediction model of the coefficient of flow convection is proposed using experimental results from the developed device. According to the proposed prediction model, the coefficient of flow convection increases with increase in flow velocity and decreases with increase in pipe diameter and thickness. Also, the coefficient of flow convection is largely affected by the type of pipe materials.

During the past few decades, several composite steel-concrete structural systems have been used and the demand of SRC (Steel Reinforced Concrete) structure increases on the construction of coping structures. But drying shrinking of concrete which is not uniform and the additional restraining effects of encased steel in concrete may cause the crack which leads to harmful damage to structure. In this study, specimens were made to show the restraining effects of embeded-steel in concrete and the differential drying shrinkage strains at various position of concrete were measured and analysed by Compensation Line Method. The results showed that there were remarkable difference in the drying shrinkage according to 속 depth of the concrete, and the tensile stress of the concrete near to encased steel showed the significant amount of stress contrary to 속 specimen which has no embeded-steel.

Nonuniform temperature distribution due to hydration heat induces thermal stress in mass concrete. At early ages, such thermal stress may induce thermal cracks which can affect on the durability ad safety of the structure. Steel fiber reinforced concrete may be useful when a large amount of energy has to be absorbed, when a high tensile strength and reduced cracking are desirable, of an improvement of thermal conductivity is desirable. In LG IPP Project, the upper part(50cm) of turbine foundation was replaced with steel fiber reinforced concrete to reduce the thermal crack induced by hydration heat. It was shown that the thermal crack control could be successfully achieved by steel fiber reinforced concrete.

This paper was to investigate the effect of component material to cause drying shrinkage of concrete. The latin square method was used in analysis of experimental results. The experimental factor was W/C, W/A, F.M and the level was divided into four step and the be analyzed. Compressive strength was mainly dependent in W/C through 90% F-verification. Drying shrinkage was mainly dependent on W/C in warly age through the same method, but not in later age. S/A, F.M did not affect compressive strength and drying shrinkage of concrete in all age.

Many different polymer based concrete materials are known today, but the large setting or hardening shrinkage of polymer concrete is a problem to overcome in their practical applications. The setting shrinkage reaches about five to ren times he drying shrinkage ordinary cement concrete, i.e, 50 to
$60\times10^{-4}$ . This paper deals with a reduction in the hardening shrinkage of unsaturated polyester resin concrete which is treated with respect to shrinkage-reducing agent content, S/a ratio and catalyst content, and tested for length change during hardening, and flexural and compressive strength. It is show that the change of shrinkage-reducing agent content and S/a ratio affected the length change of the unsaturated polyester resin concrete during hardening. -
The objective of this study was to improve the defects of lightweight cement concrete by treating with redispersible polymer powders. The statistical relationships of water-cement ratios, contents of lightweight aggregates and polymer powers and be used for predicting the concrete strength. It was found that the varieties and techniques adopted in this experiment were capable of identifying the influence of various tested for air contents, flow test, water absorption, specific gravity, flexural and compressive strength. This study showed that fundamental properties were very affected by cement- lightweight aggregate ratio, polymer-cement ratio and water-cement ratio.

At present, reinforced concrete pipe has been widely used as drain pipe. However, many reinforced concrete pipe is exposed at deteriorated environment by the growth of a sulfur-oxidizing bacterium isolated from corroded concrete. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of lining by polymer-modified mortar on the development in durability of reinforced concrete pipe. Polymer-modified mortars ate prepared with various polymer typer as cement modifier and polymer-cement ratio and rested for compressive and flexural strengths, adhesion in tension, acid resistance test, freezing and thawing test, and lining test of product in the field. From the rest results, it is apparent that polymer-modified mortars have good mechanical properties and durability as lining material. In practice, all polymers can be used as lining materials for reinforced concrete pip, and type of polymer, and polymer-cement ratio and curing conditions are controlled for good lining product.

Recently, the importance of the conutermeasures for waste materials has pointed out. Waste glass is also one to waste materials used for the recycling in construction sites. The crushed waste glass has been used to make a glass polymer composite that can be applied for sewer, storm drain pipe and interlocking block, etc. In this study, the crushed waste glass is explored with the possibility of recycling it, as a substitute for fine aggregates. The prepose of this investigation is to improve the strengths and acid resistance of the UP mortars using crushed waste glass. The UP mortars are prepare with blast furnace slag fly ash filler. the UP-fine aggregate ratios the crushed waste glass replacements for fine aggregate are tested strengths before and after immersion(H (아래첨자2)SO(아래첨자4) 10%), weight change and acid resistance are also tested. From the test results, the relative strength or UP mortars using fly ash as filler are found to be somewhat superior to that of the UP mortars using blast furnace as filler, And a UP mortar with fly ash as a filler, a UP-fine aggregate ratio of 15% and a waste glass replacement if 50% for fine aggregate is recommended as optimal mix proportion of UP mortar using crushed waste glass. Accordingly, it is enough to assure the use of the crushed waare glass as an aggregate for the production of UP mortar.

The purpose of this study is to clarify properties adhesive strength of polymer-cement slurry for coated reinforcing bars. The epoxy coating material is superior to performance of anti-corrosion but lately age adhesive strength between concrete raise to structural problems. However, polymer dispersion with excellent performance of elasticity and adhesion can solve this problems. From the test results. adhesion of steel with polymer cement slurry using St/BA emulsion is show excellent without concerned coating thickness, and polymer cement slurry using St/BA emulsion is show adhesion in tension 1.2~2.2MPa at polymer cement ratio 50% of more.

While a little research has been performed on flexural behavior of reinforced polymer concrete (RPC) beams with the compressive strength lower than 1000kg/
$\textrm{cm}^2$ , vary little exists in conjunction with the behavior of (RPC) 1,400kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ or compressive strength. In this paper the flexural behavior of high strength polymer concrete beams with 1,400kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in compressive was evaluated. The unsaturated polyester resin was used to make polymer concrete as binder. The beams with stirrup singly/doubly were rested to examine the effect of tensile reinforcement ratio. As test results. steel ratio increased with the increased moment strength, decreased with ultimate deflection. -
This Paper presents dynamic analysis of underground R/C Subway Structure, subjected to seismic actions. Earthquakes brought serious damage to RC subway Structure. Foe studying the collapse mechanism of underground RC Subway, seismic of a subway station is simulated in using FEM program ASP2000 of two-dimension based on the path dependent RC elastic model, soil foundation and interfacial models. The shear failure of intermediate vertical columns is founds to be the major cause of the structural collapse. According to FEM simulation of the failure mechanism, it is considered that the RC column would lose axial load carrying capacity after the occurrence of the localized diagonal shear cracks , and sudden failure of the outer frame would be followed. Specially, the shear stress in the middle slab reaches maximum shear capacity. So, the Structure would fail in the middle slab as a result of erasing the vertical ground motion computation.

The Korean Bridge Design Standard Specifications adopted the seismic design requirements in 1992. However, The current seismic design requirements for bridges are based on the USA seismic codes for sever earthquake. This provides the basic factors that affects the performance of spiral reinforced concrete piers for seismic loading, and The specimen tests are performed based on load-displacement, effective stiffness and displacement ductility, etc. The quasi-static test was adopted in order to investigate seismic performance of the spiral reinforced concrete pier specimens which had different transverse steel amount, spacing and longitudinal steel ratio under different axial load levels. This study is concluded that seismic design for transverse reinforcement content of spiral reinforced concrete column has influenced on axial load and effective stiffness etc.

This study was conducted to investigate the seismic behavior assessment of circlular-tied bridge piers, particularly with regard to assessing the displacement ductility. The experimental variables of bridge piers test consisted of transverse steel details, amount and spacing different axial load levels etc. The test results indicated that reinforcement concrete bridge piers with confinement steel by the code specification exhibited sufficient ductile behavior and seismic performance. Aldo, it is found that current seismic design code specification of confinement steel requirements may be revised.

Experimental and numerical studies were done to investigate seismic performance of slender sheat wall with no boundary confinement. 1/3 scale-specimens that model the plastic region of long slender shear walls subjected to combined axial load and bending moment were rested to investigate strength, ductility, capacity of energy dissipation and strain distribution. The experimental results show that the slender walls fail due to early crushing in the compressive boundary, and then have very low ductility. The measured maximum compressive strain is 0.0021, which is much less then 0.004 being commonly used for estimation of ductility. The experimental results indicates that the maximum compressive strain is not a fixed value but is affected by moment gradient along the shear wall height and distance from neutral axis to the extreme compressive fiber.

In this study, strengthening effect of the deteriorated reinforced concrete T type bridge with epoxy-bonded glass fiber reinforced plates(GFRP) is experimentally investigated. This test make a comparison between before strengthened and after strengthened with GFRP structural behavior experimentally in the field. the results generally indicate that the flexural strength of strengthened RC T-type bridge is increased.

This paper presents an experimental study on the behavior of high strength concrete columns confined by rectangular ties under combined axial load lateral load. This test was carried on the twelve reinforced concrete columns with
$200\times200\times200$ mm size subjected to combined axial load and lateral load. Effects of key variables such as the axial load level, the tie yield strength, the longitudinal reinforcement ratio are studied in this research program. The results of this study show that the efficiency of high strength lateral ties increase under high axial load level over 0.4f(아래첨자) A(아래 첨자). Also we found that well confined concrete column shows second peak monent after spalling of cover concrete under high axial load level. -
To use concrete box culverts effectively, precast goods are manufactured at a factory, then linked and anchored with prestressing tendon at a field. However, the corrosion of rebar and prestressing tendon in the box culverts utilizing portland cement concrete is issued when the cracks occur at a underground water level. It has been reported that reported that expansive concrete, compared with portland cement concrete, has many structural advantages such as increasing capacity of watertight, controling initial crack and improving durability due to its property of expansion. During flexure test with RC beam made from expansive concrete, in the case of a constant section of concrete element, the lower steel ratio is, and in the case of a constant steel ratio, the more incremental the section of concrete element, the more incremental the amount of chemical prestress by expansive concrete is. At the segment of the box culverts using expansive concrete, the numbers of crack and its gap is reduced, and ultimate load and initial crack load is much larger than the segment at which expansive concrete is nor used. Also lay-out of tendon with a curvature generate upward force so that deflection is reduced. Through the whole procedure, it could be confirmed that performance precast box culvert by means of using expansive concrete is improved.

This paper are the mechanical characteristics of eccentrically loaded normal strength and high strength reinforced concrete columns based on the test results. The columns are
$120\times120$ mmat the mid-section and are haunched at the ends to apply the eccentric loading and prevent premature failure. Variables are concrete strengths(361, 672, 974 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ ),$\textrm{cm}^2$ longitudinal reinforcement ratios (1.98, 3.54, 1 5.53%), spacing of lateral reinforcement (30, 60, 120mm), and eccentricities (24, 40mm). As a results, the main conclusions obtained from the comparison and analysis for the strength tendency, deformation and ductility of high strength reinforced concrete columns with variables are as follows; As the concrete compressive strength concrete and lateral reinforcement increases, the ductility index of high strength reinforced concrete columns decrease, but it increase with the increase of eccentricity and longitudinal reinforcement ratio. The confinement ratio must be greater than 20 percent in order for the level of ductility between high strength reinforced concrete columns and normal strength reinforced concrete columns to be almost equal. -
Multi-level (macro-level, meso-level, and micro-level) mechanism of prefinitely strained concrete materials os studied The multi-level analysis explains the additional quasibrittle concrete material ductility that comes from lateral confinement and their multi-level interaction mechanisms. The so-called "upgraded tube-squash test" is used to achieve 50% axial strain and over 70 degree of deviatoric strain of quasibrittle concrete materials under extremely high pressure without producing visible cracks. In the micro-level analysis, the variations of hydration rte, micropores, and hydrate phased are analyzed. In the meso-level analysis, mesocracks (the initial invisible cracks) at the interfaces between aggregates and cement paste matrices are studied. The high confining effect in the specimen on the meso-level cracks is also studied. In the macro-level analysis, the physical behavior of prefinitely strained concrete materials is studied. The co-relationships of the results from the three distinct levels of analyses based in various prestraining (0%, 15%, 35%, and 50%) are studied. For the extremely deformed or strained concrete problems, multi-level analysis will be used to explain the unclear and unstudied mechanism of concrete materials, The multi-level analysis can provide us with valuable insights that can explain the additional ductility and confining effect in concrete. concrete.

The behavior of high strength reinforced concrete columns subjected to uniaxal reversal loading and biaxial reversal circle path loading was investigated. Four full scale test specimens were tested. All specimens were adopted cantilever type, in order that the critical region is to locate only at the bottom of column. The parameters studied were transverse reinforcement ratio, uniaxial lateral loading and biaxial lateral loading. The damage features of columns by the biaxial loading are different from those of the uniaxial loading, However, the maximum strength and the draft angle at maximum strength were almost the same under uniaxial and biaxial loading. The transverse reinforcement under biaxial loading was very effective for increasing ductility of specimens.

In prestressed concrete structures, determining serviceability and safety it is important to exactly calculate effective prestress force acting on structures. for the determination of effective prestress force, friction loss of the prestressing tendon should be decided exactly, but it is very difficult to measure the exact prestress force on the site and there is no actual field data. Therefore the friction loss coefficient recommended by the specification is not verified. in this paper, the friction loss standard PSC-Beam will be investigated, and is will be found what kind of relationship between the specification and the site. The results from this study can be summarized as follows. For jacking at both ends, actual intial prestress force in the center section of PCS-Beam was about 1.61% larger than theoretical initial prestress force and for hacking at one end, actual initial prestress force was approximate 4.9% lower than theoretical initial prestress force. Thus, for the exact calculation of friction loss, friction coefficient should be modified according to jacking methods.

This Study was conducted to evaluate structural integrity and crack source location of RC structures strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plates using acoustic, Four pont bending tests were carried out RC reinforced with C.F.R.P for the several strengthening specimens, the process of fracture was monitored by Acoustic Emission and duration and energy in AE parameters were analyzed. The location and propagation of crack could be easily determined by monitoring AE, which concluded that AE technique could be a very useful tool to evaluate structural integrity of reinforced RC structure.

Test methods by hydraulic oil or vehicular live load have been used for structural evaluation of prototype bridge. However it has been reported that the use of hydraulic jack has some disadvantages for the view of safety and economy, and the complete structural evaluation through each loading state can not be accomplished blocks is presented to overcome those demerits. To verify the application and safely of the use of concrete weight blocks during each loading state, it is applied to prototype deteriorated bridge. Reinforced concrete beams show increased ductile behavior when the compressive concrete is confined with transverse steel. In the inelastic range, the most variations of ductile behaviour are defined the equivalent length of the plastic hinge and the plastic hinge rotation. In an investigation to study the influence of such confinement, sixteen reinforced concrete beams were tested in flexure and the deflections noted at all stages of loading. For all the beams tested, the plastic hinge rotation have been computed and the effect of confinement on the same examined. The conclusions are summarized as follows: The equivalent lengths of the plastic hinge are ranged within the effective depth comparatively. The ability of the plastic hinge rotation of the reinforced concrete beams confined with transverse steel are enlarged when transverse reinforcement content are increased, but the spaces are more important as the shear force are largely increased.

Etructural Performance Evaluation of Columns in a Reinforced Concrete Ordinary Moment Frame BuildingThe purpose of this study is to investigate the structural performance of columns in an Reinforced Concrete Ordinary Moment Frame building. For this purpose, a 3-story building was designed according to the Korea seismic design provisons and ACI 318-99, and the columns of in the first story were constructed. The columns were classified into interior and columns. For each interior and exterior columns, upper and lower parts ate modeled by the 2/3 scale experimental specimens. The specimens for lower part columns have lap splice. The interior columns were tested under the constant axial force, while the exterior columns were tested under the fluctuating axial force. Based on the results of the experiments, the effects of the lap splice and axial force on the column performance are evaluated.

In case of strong earthquake, upper-sheat wall lowe-frame structures show the weak-story failure at lower part. Where we should guarantee sufficient strength, energy dissipation capacity and ductility. In this study, a typical structure was selected for a prototype and four 1:2.5 scaled models, representing the subassemblages including the interior column and the deep beam, were constructed. Experimental parameters include transverse reinforcement ratio and axial force. The non- linear behavior of the subassemblages subjected to the cyclic lateral displac-ement were evaluated through investigation of the ultimate strength, ductility, load-deformation characteristics. From the results of the tests on 4 specimens, it is concluded that the strength increased as the axial force increased and the ductility increased as the transverse reinforcement ratio increased.

This research aims at evaluating the seismic performance of the existing R/C bridge piers, which were seismically designed in accordance with the provision of moderate confinement design code (Eurocode 8). The work presented in this paper experimentally investigates the ductility and hysteretic behavior of circular reinforced concrete columns with moderate confinement. Pseudo-dynamic tests have been carried out on two scaled R/C column specimens to investigate their hysteretic behavior and other seismic performance.

Recently, there are increasing much concerns about repair and rehabilitation works for aged Concrete Structures which had been constructed on around the 1970's for rapid economic growth in Korea. In particular, it is believed that there are many aged concrete slabs for Highway bridges in these days. Thus new construction method of concrete slabs are strongly needed to minimize the traffic congestion during the repair works. The objective of this research is to develop the new constructional method of concrete slab in bridge structure, which can contribute to minimize the traffic congestion to be occurred during the repair and rehabilitation works of aged concrete slab, and can also assure the reliable quality through the minimization of in-situ works at the site. I-beams with punch holes will be manufactured in accordance with the specification in the factory, and will be preassembled into the panel. After erecting the preassembled panels in the site, concrete will be poured into the slab panel. This research is to investigate physical properties of I-Beam with punch holes itself, and then to investigate structural properties of assembled I-Beam panels through static and fatigue test, of which result can be utilized for the development of the new constructional method for concrete slab in bridge structure.

Since the occurrence of 1995 Kobe earthquake, there have been much concern about seismic design for various infrastructures, inclusive of bridge structures. This research aims at evaluating the seismic performance of the existing R/C bridge piers, which were nonseismically or seismically designed in accordance with the provision of Korea Highway Design Specification. Further experimental investigations have been doing to figure out the retrofitting effects of nonseismic R/C bridge piers confined with glass fiber at the plastic hinge zone. Pseudo-dynamic tests have been carried out in nine scaled R/C column specimens to investigate their hysteretic behavior under earthquake loading. Test parameters are axial load, input ground motion confinement steel ratio, glass fiber and etc.

This research covers the resting of precast/prestressed concrete I-Girder bridge. The research was designed to examine processes for improving the condition evaluation and rating of prestressed concrete bridge. To establish procedures that allow for the full utilization of prestressed concrete bridge capacity, a 28-year old sample was loaded to failure in site. The bridge was constructed with 12 spans, and girders of each span were simply supported. At each loading stage, the deflections, reinforcement strains, prestressing wire strains and concrete strains were examined. Failure behavior was analyzed, and failure load was also evaluated. The test results wee compared to the analytical results from the non-linear finite element analysis.

In this study, optimal design of reinforced concrete piers under seismic load is numerically investigated. Object function is the area of the concreate-section. Design variables are the total area of reinforcement and concrete-section dimension(Circular section diameter). Constraints of the design strength of the column, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and lower and upper bounds on the design variables are imposed. The reinforcement concrete column is analysed and designed by the Ultimated Strength Design method and load combination involving dead, live, wind and seismic load is used. For numerical optimization, ADS(Garret N, Vanderplaats_ routine is used. From the result of numerical examples, the concrete-section dimension was reduced, but longitudinal reinforcement was not changed. The results show that confinement reinforcement was reduced and confinement reinforcement spacing is increased. The higher strength of reinforcement used, the more concrete-section area was reduced.

This paper describes the application of discretized continuum-type optimality criteria (DCOC) for minimum-cost design of the reinforced concrete frame structures consisting of beams and columns. The cost of construction as objective function which includes the costs of concrete, reinforced steel and formwork is minimized. The design constraints include limits on the maximum deflection at a prescribed node, bending and shear strengths in beams, uniaxial bending strength of columns according to design codes(CEB/FIP, 1990). In the first stage, only beams with uniform cross-sectional parameters per span are considered. But the steel ratio is allowed to vary freely. The cross-sectional parameters and steel ratio in each column are assumed to be uniform for practical reasons. Optimality criteria is given based on the well known Kuhn-Tucker necessary conditions, followed by an iterative procedure for designs when the design variables are the depth and the steel ratio. The versatility of the DCOC technique has been demonstrated by considering numerical examples which have one-bay four-storey frame.

This paper presents the evaluation of behavior and the prediction of tensile capacity of anchors that fail concrete, as the design basis for anchorage. Tests of cast-in-place headed anchors, domestically manufactured and installed in uncracked, unreinforced concrete are performed to investigate the behavior of single anchors and multiple anchors with the consideration of various embedment lengths and edge distances. The failure mode and the load-deformation response of these anchors are discussed and the concrete failure dta are then compared with capacity predictions by the two existing methods : the 45 degree cone method of ACI 349, 318 and the concrete capacity design (CCD) method. Discrepancies between the test results and these two prediction methods, FEM analysis are assessed.

In the rail facilities, the rail track consists of rail, tie, fastening, accessories and bed. The rail track is largely divided into Ballast Bed Track (BBT) and Concrete Bed Track (CBT) according to the type of bed. In this thesis, among Concrete Bed Track, slab track, which is used for the Japanese high speed railway, is a target of this study. Dynamic analysis by using finite element method are performed where moving train load is periodic function. Then through parametric study, some conclusions are obtained as follows. Cement Asphalt Mortar (CAM) affects contrary mechanical behavior to rail and slab greatly. Therefore, change of CAM spring coefficient should be handled with care. For slab thickness, thin slab is more profitable to reduction of vibration of rail than thick one but mechanical capacity of slab is deteriorated. Improved structural type is proposed, then structural analysis is performed for this one. This type is effective to reduction of vibration of railway system.

This paper describes the procedures to estimate for the design thermal loads on prestressed concrete box girder bridges on th basis of the extreme analysis of the temperature data obtained from long-term thermal analyses. Long-term thermal analyses using the environmental data for three years were conducted, and the extreme distributions of th thermal loads are then determined by the tail-equivalence method, and the thermal loads corresponding to selected return period are calculated. Finally, the results are compared to the specifications suggested in a current design code for thermal loads.

An iterative numerical computational algorithm is presented to design a plate or shell element subjected to membrane and flexural forces. Based on equilibrium consideration, equations for capacities of top and bottom reinforcements in two orthogonal directions have been derived. The amount of reinforcement is determined locally, i.e., for each sampling point, from the equilibrium between applied and internal forces. Based on nonlinear analyses performed in a hyperbolic cooling tower, the analytically calculated ultimate load exceeded the design ultimate load from 50% to 55% for an analysis with relatively low to high tension stiffening, cases
$\gamma$ =10 and 15. For these cases, the design method gives a lower bound on the ultimate load with respect to Lower bound theorem, This shows the adequacy of th current practice at least for this cooling tower shell case studied. To generalize the conclusion more designs - analyses should be reformed with different shell configurations. -
This paper presents a design procedure using the moment magnifier method that is applicable to RC flat plates subjected to combined axial compressive and uniform or non-uniform floor load. Based on the numerical results, the design values of the buckling coefficient and the effective flexural rigidity, that define the buckling force, have been proposed. Using these design values, this paper provides the design procedure for the moment magnifier method.

Theoretical and Experimental Study of Shear Strength of Concrete Circular Sections Using Steel HoopsThe state-of-the-practice design expressions currently used for the calculation of shear strength of concrete columns due to circular transverse hoop steel were reviewed. From this, it was found that the single valued constant effective section area of shear steel to be conservative in some degree that concrete sections built in non-seismic regions. A general expression as n alternative was suggested considering the wide range of section configurations. The theoretical prediction was validated through the experimental observations.

The structural behavior of the members using recycled coarse aggregate is investigated in this papers. The members considered this study are subjected to shear ad bending simultaneously. A series of test beam specimens using recycled coarse aggregate is made for the structural test. These specimens are manufactured using the concrete for the compressive strength of 280kg/
$\textrm{cm}^2$ with recycled aggregate ratio of 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% of total aggregate volume, respectively. The main object of this test is to investigate the influence of the using recycled aggregate to the cracking strength of the member subjected to flexure and shear and the post cracking behavior. -
Cracks in reinforced concrete members are important element in structural analysis and design. It is clear from the test results that shear strength of cracked member is remarkably degraded compared with uncracked one. However, considerable amount of shear resistance by such mechanisms as aggregate interlock and dowel action is still active. There are various approaches to shear transfer estimation including finite element analysis, fracture mechanics, upper bound theory of plasticity, etc., but working out comprehensive and consistent models and manageable equations is rather difficult and remains to be improved. Shear transfer problems under cyclic loading and effective compressive strength of cracked concrete have not been adequately investigated and need further systematic research.

In R.C. flat slab system, a brittle punching failure is a very fatal problem. But there is no generally well-defined answer to the problem and there are wide differences in current practical design codes. therefore, in this study, the factors affecting to punching failure mechanism have been studied to find out the punching shear behavior in R.C. flat slabs by comparing other investigations and practical design codes. Therefore, In this study, the factors affecting to punching failure mechanism have been studied to find out the punching shear behavior in R.C. flat slabs by comparing other investigations and practical design codes. The conclusions in this study are summarized as follows; 1) The factors affecting to punching shear are concrete strength (
$f_\alpha$ ), ratio of column side length to slab depth (c/d), ratio of distance from column center to radial contraflexure (l/d), yield strength of steel ($f_y$ ), flexural reinforcement ratio ($\rho$ ) and size effects. 2) It is shown that th use of$\surd{f_{ck}}$ in applying($f_\alpha$ to punching shear strength estimation may be more sensitive in high concrete strength. 3) The effects of l/d, ($f_y$ , size are no clear in the punching failure mechanism, so in the future, it should be investigated with the effects of various composed load. -
The purpose of this study is to develop the mechanical anchorage, namely MAB-BOP (Mechanical Anchorage of 90
$^{\circ}$ Hooked Bars with BOlt nad Plate) of the beam-column joint in precast concrete framed structures. Six specimens simulating typical interior beam-column joints were tested to investigate the mechanical characteristics of MAB-BOP. Of primary interest was the measurement of the slip of the anchored bar. Th load-slip curve obtained from this test were used to compare the mechanical performances of the different anchoring methods. Based on the test results, it was found that MAB-BOP showed sufficient anchoring strength capacity compared to 90$^{\circ}$ hooked bar method. So, MAB-BOP can be used as the anchoring methods of the reinforcing bars in PC beam-column joint. -
Bond between reinforcing bars and the surrounding concrete is supposed to safely transfer load in the design process of reinforced concrete structures. Bar with high relative rib area will be studied further not only static load but also dynamic loading conditions to sustain better performance of bond for reinforced concrete structures under earthquake. To determine the bond behavior of high ribbed bars in beam and column joints under repeated loads, 31 pullout specimens were tested. Bond strength increases as relative rib area increases. Also the effect of relative rib area on bond is larger in cyclic loading than in monotonic loading.

In this study, a numerical simulation that can effectively predict the interfacial fracture behavior in repaired structures is developed using the axial deformation link elements. In repaired structures, concrete and interface are considered as quais-brittle materials, and steel plate as a repair material and reinforcement are modeled as elasto-plastic materials. The behavior of repaired reinforced concrete structures under flexural loading conditions is numerically simulated, and compaired with experimental results. The strengthening effect according to the length and thickness of the repair material is studied and rip-off, debonding and rupture failure mechanism of interface between substrate and repair materials are detected. It is shown that the interface properties affect on the mechanical behavior of repaired structures. Therefore, the developed numerical method using axial deformation link elements can be used for determining the strengthening effects and failure mechanism of repaired structures.

Nuclear power plant structures amy be exposed to aggressive environmental effects that may cause their strength and stiffness to decrease over their service lives. Although the physics of these damage mechanisms are reasonably well understood and quantitative evaluation of their effects on time-dependent structural behavior is possible in some instances, such evaluations are generally very difficult and remain novel. The final goal of this study is to develop the reliability analysis of RC containment structures. The cause of the degrading is first clarified and the reliability assessment has been conducted. By introducing stochastic analysis based on random vibration theory, the reliability analysis which can determine the failure probabilities has been established.

The objective of this paper is to analyse the high-strength concrete columns subjected to reversed cyclic and axial loads by using nonlinear analysis model and compare the experimental results with analysis. The analytical parameters are the compressive strength of concrete, spacing of lateral reinforcement and lateral reinforcement ratio. In this study, the proposed analytical model takes ito account the influence of confined concrete, tension stiffening and strain hardening of steel. The high-strength concrete columns are used to model fiber section element. The analysis results are shown comparatively good prediction on envelope curve, accumulative dissipated energy, deformability and so on.

This paper summarized deformation properties of hydroelectric power concrete dam through the comparison between measured and analysed data. This is a part of the process to evaluate concrete dam safety, which has become a critical concern in the country. We analysed strain and angle deformation data by considering only the effect of atmosphere temperature to evaluate deformation properties of Gaisan hydroelectric power concrete dam. Analysis results are almost identical with measured data, and behavior of Gusian dam can be cleared up more reliably in case of acting the external loads (seismic, wind water pressure, etc.) except the influence of temperature.

The pseudo-volume control method is developed for the failure analysis of RC slabs, by adding pressure node into layered shell element utilizing in-plane constitutive models of reinforced concrete and layered formulation. For the failure analysis of RC slabs n this paper, geometric nonliearity is also considered in the analysis. The validity of the pseudo-volume control method is verified by comparing analysis results and existing experimental results.

In this paper, the embedded crack approach that crack is modeled by discontinuous line inside finite element is applied for localized progressive fracture analyses. The algorithm for progressive fracture analyses of concrete structure are enhanced by introducing nonlinear softening curve and unloading algorithm of tension-softening curve which can simulate localized fracture of concrete. The failure analysis results ar compared with existing test results for varification.

As the residential spaces become high-rised and high-density, Multi-story buildings were constructed with transfer girders, Deep beams, wall foundations, floor diaphragms an shear walls which may have column offsets. Especially, In the analysis and design of Multi-story buildings, the lateral loads must be taken into account. But, there have been no appropriate theory and national design code for predicting ultimate shear strength of reinforced concrete Deep beams with web opening. Only empirical and semi-empirical formulas for predicting their ultimate load bearing capacities due to the complexities of the structural non-linearity and material heterogeneity. So this study analyze tow-dimensional finite element model that represents exactly the behavior of real structures with SBETA which are general nonlinear finite element analysis program, and compare the results with that from the real reinforced Concrete Deep beams with web opening tests. From the comparison, and parametric study, The Study presents the elementary data of the earthquake resistance for the reinforced concrete Deep beams with web opening.

The analytical studies for the test results are presented. From experimental envelope curve, hysteretic behaviors under cyclic loading are modelled for beam-column subassemblages. Modelled curves show relatively good reproduction or experimental curves. finally, seismic performances are investigated for 7 story plain framed structure by nonlinear dynamic analysis. The resulting responses are different by each beam-column joint design.

The concrete slab on the foundation may have curling and warping deformations due to temperature gradient of its section. These deformations may change the support conditions of concrete slabs, and cause higher level of stresses tan expected. In this study, partial support conditions de to several temperature gradients are evaluated using FE analysis. Expecially, 3D FE model is adopted to evaluate the partial contact between the slab and the base which is hard to be simulated in 2D FE models. The discrepancies of analysis results increase at high temperature gradients. And it is concluded that 3D FE model can be used to simulate real support and temperature conditions.

Numerical studies were carried out to investigate the long-term behavior of late plates in basement, subjected to combined in-plane compressive and transverse loads. For the numerical studies, a computer program of nonlinear finite element analysis was modified by adding function of creep and shrinkage analysis. This numerical method was verified by comparison with the existing experiments. Parametric studies were performed to investigate the strength variations of flat plates with three parameters; 1) loading sequence of floor load, compression and time 2) uniaxial an biaxial compression and 3) the ratio of dead to live load.

The use of unconditionally stable implicit time integration techniques for pseudo-dynamic test has been recently proposed and advanced by several researchers such as Thewalt and Mahin, Nakashima and Shing, etc. The developed implicit algorithms are based on the
$\alpha$ -Method of Huges et al. In this paper, a concise summary and explanation of implicit method for Pseudo dynamic tese is presented. Especially, The$\alpha$ -C method developed by shing et al. has been in-depth evaluated for this study. Important parameters of the$\alpha$ -C method have been analyzed by the simulation test. -
Recently, composite structural systems have been developed actively due to its structural advantages of combining different materials. The objective of this paper is to investigate the structural behavior of composite connection which consist of steel beams and reinforced concrete columns (RCS). Five 2/3 scale joint specimens with variables mainly consist of shear resisting details, were tested under reversal loads. The results showed that RCS beam-column joints maintain ductility, strength compared to other RCS joints and exhibited excellent energy dissipating capacity when subjected to inelastic deformations under reversal load.

Comparing with single structure constructed with reinforced concrete or steel, composite structures have a great advantage. However, in case of nuclear power structure, the application of a conventional single structure (reinforced concrete or steel structure) inflicts a heavy loss on a economical and constructive efficiency. But, the application of composite slab to nuclear power structure could compensate these deficiency. Therefore, in this study, the structural behavior of composite slab in nuclear power structure is observed to assure economical and constructive efficiency.

This experimental were carried out in order to investigate the equivalent strength of SFRC (Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete). Tow hundred and tenh SFRC beeam (size: 150x150x550) were used in the tests the relationships between loading and mid-point deflections of the beams were observed four oint bending loading. From the test results, prediction formulas for the equivalent strength of SFRC beams are suggested.

Prestressing steels are susceptible to corrosion, which is considered the major reason in the deterioration of prestressed concrete structures. To solve this problem, many research have been made to utilize new type of tendons. FRP tendons have many advantages compared to steel tendons. However, FRP tendons have some disadvantages, such as no plastic behavior. This study focused on the flexural behavior of prestresssed concrete beams which is fabricated by post-tensioning method with CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) tendons. Th results drawn from the study, prestressed concrete beams with CFRP tendons have higher flexural cracking load, flexural yielding load, and flexural fracture load. While displacement at the fracture stage is lower compared to prestressed concrete beams with steel tendon. Excessive steel reinforcement lead lower ductility index. So, appropriate reinforcement guideline is needed. Further more, prestressed concrete beams with CFRP tendons can have sufficient ductility index when ruptured by crushing of concrete or used unbonded tendon. Therefore, the best design method for prestressed concrete beams with CFRP tendons is over-reinforcement, and use of unbonded tendon.

In the prestressed concrete structures, the effective prestressing force of tendon is basically most important item for structural safety and serviceability. The frictional loss is one of the major items for determinating the effective prestressing force and depend on the construction accuracy of the structures. In this thesis, it will be analyzed and found through measured hydraulic jack pressure, tendon elongation and prestressing control system that the tendancy of apparent curvature friction coefficient, the ratio of jacking force and required prestressing force, the ratio of initial jacking force and required prestressing force and compatibility of specified friction loss coefficient. The specified control limit for curvature friction coefficient of prestressing control system is about 0.25 and wobble friction coefficient 0.005. Thus, the control limit should be modified according to changed vale of friction coefficient.

The strain compatibility analysis shows that the influential parameters of loading type, reinforcing ratio, and span-depth ratio affect on the tendon stress in unbonded prestresses concrete member significantly. However, existing test results did not comply exactly with the analytical results. In consequence, the present study was planned to examine the parameters in order to complete Moon/Lim's design equation. The test variables with 12 specimens were loading type, reinforcing ratio, and span-depth ratio. As results, the effect of influential parameters were examined throughly and Moon/Lim's design equation was proven to be accurate.

This paper presents the results from experimental study that investigated to explore the load transfer characteristics of post-tensioning anchorage zones. The experimental program investigated the primary variables which affect the ultimate load, lateral strains and crack width: concrete compressive strength, details of reinforcement and shape of anchorage. Through this research, it was found that the governing factor of the ultimate load was not compressive cylinder strength but tensile splitting strength. Ultimate load was increased and lateral strain was decreased as the ratio of spiral increased because the lateral expansion of th concrete inside the spiral was restrained by the spiral. Furthermore, the shape of anchorage which can diminish the wedge effect of anchorage and disperse the anchorage force in various depths was more effective.

The equivalent load method has been widely used in the design and analysis of prestressed concrete structures. The purpose of this paper is to explore several important method of obtaining equivalent loads and to clarify the advantages and limitations of each method. The methods devised in this study include the use of curvature of tendon, characteristics of primary moment, self-equilibrium conditions, and linear segments approximation of tendon. It is shown that equivalent lading system is not uniquely determined in some cases and careful engineering judgement is required from the view point of accuracy and practical convenience.

This paper covers durability and field application of marine concrete which have been enhanced the resistance against deterioration in seawater. Fly ash concrete is applied to make the concrete with good durability. It is well known fly ash in concrete has a good performance preventing fro a sulphate attack and a steel corrosion. Several durability tests were performed to find characteristics of marine concrete which is proposed in this paper comparing with normal concrete. Field application was executed to compare results with laboratory test and to give a reliability to engineers. The project was supported by Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for two years.

In this research the remaining service life of the concrete due to the steel corrosion was predicted by three cases; causing carbonation, using sea sand, using deicing salts. In case of deterioration by carbonation, effective carbonation depth, effective coverage depth and relative humidity are considered for predicting method. In case of using sea sand, predicting method is made of rust growth equation from polarization resistance method. In case of using deicing salts, predicting method is made of transformation of Fick's law. Three methods are very useful in predicting service life of concrete.

Recently great efforts and investment have been made in order to evaluate concrete durability by steel corrosion. But most of study is relatively or qualitatively estimated, therefore it has a great limitation in evaluating a remaining service life of concrete. In this research, steel corrosion rate was measured quantitatively by polarization resistance method and multi-regressed considering chloride, carbonation, coverage depth, relative humidity, W/C, and the use of deicing salts. And a half cell potential method was used at th same time for the purpose of comparing with polarization resistance method.

Recently, the degradation of reinforced concrete structures due to physical and chemical attack has been a major issue in construction engineering. One of the main causes of degradation of concrete structures can be ascribed to chloride-induced corrosion, i.e., the rapid penetration of chloride ions into concrete. To estimate durability of reinforced concrete structures exposed to marine environment, many different kinds of accelerated tests to evaluate the concrete diffusivity were proposed. In this study, present test methods are reviewed and a proper test method for concrete is selected. The diffusion coefficients of concrete with corrosion inhibitor are measured using the proposed method, and then, measured values are compared to those of concrete without corrosion inhibitor. It is found from experimental results that diffusion coefficient re decreased with curing ages.

With respect to durability, the impotance of carbonation lies in the fact that it reduces the pH on the pore water in hardened concrete. However, the carbonation velocity is effected by the water/cement ratio, materials, unit cement weight, porosity, kinds of finishing materials, accuracy of constructing, environmental factors and so on. And the air permeability is closely related to the carbonation velocity because it represents the properties of concrete. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the carbonation effected by air permeability n mortar and concrete. As a result, it was found that the carbonation velocity of concrete is faster than that of mortar and it is possible to predict the carbonation velocity using air permeability.

This study is to test effects of sulfate attack on deterioration of cement mortar. Four tests have been carried out with four types of mortars mixed by ordinary portland cement and sulfate-resistant portland cement containing blast-furnace slag and fly-ash. It was immersed in sulfate solution for 7, 28, 91, and 180 days. from the test results, sulfate attack resistance of cement mortar was improved by admixtures (blast-furnace slag and fly-ash), sulfate-resistance portland cement mortar showed high resistance than ordinarily portland cement at compressive strength, and similar the resistance of sulfate attack with ordinarily portland cement mortar with admixtures.

The corrosion protection methods of reinforcing steel in concrete are the various methods such as increasing thickness of cover concrete, using of reinforcing bars coated with epoxy, dosage of corrosion inhibitor as concrete admixture, cathodic protection method and etc. The most economical method of them will be the corrosion protection method using corrosion inhibitor as concrete admixture. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate the performance of corrosion protection of ordinary strength and high strength concrete using corrosion inhibitor, respectively. For this purpose, after manufacturing ordinary strength and high strength concrete with and without corrosion inhibitor, the accelerated corrosion tests for reinforcing steel were conducted according to the periodic cycles (140 day) of wetting (
$65^{\circ}C$ , 90% R.H.) and drying period ($15^{\circ}C$ , 65% R.H.). As a result, th high strength concrete using corrosion inhibitor showed an excellent performance of corrosion protection. -
To consider sulfate resistance of cement pastes and motars for 3 types of portland cements which have different
$C_3A$ contents an silicate ratio($C_3S/C_2S$ ), they were immersed in 5% sodium sulfate solution for 400 days. SEM analysis and ($Ca(OH)_2$ contents of cement pastes, and compressive strength and length change of cement mortars, were performed to investigate the effects of ($C_3$ and ($Ca(OH)_2$ contents. According to the results of this study, low heat portland cement pastes, and compressive strength and length change of cement mortars, were performed to investigate the effects of C3A and ($Ca(OH)_2$ contents. According to the results of this study, low heat portland cement had a good sulfate resistances because of a small quantity of gypsum and ettringite due to less ($Ca(OH)_2$ contents. However, ordinary portland cement had an adverse result. This was also confirmed by SEM analysis. -
Reinforced concrete is in general, known as high durability construction material under normal environments due to strong alkalinity of cement. It is, however, well known that moderate or minor cracks in reinforced concrete should be most serious causes to deteriorate the durability of RC structures. Futhermore, chloride contents penetrating through unexpected cracks in reinforced concrete bridges get to weaken corrosion resistance of reinforcement steel in concrete and then to accelerate the deterioration of concrete durability. The objective of this experimental research is 1) to evaluate the effect of various corrosion protection systems for reinforced concrete specimens with moderate or minor cracks which are exposed to cyclic wet and dry seawater, and then 2) to develop effective corrosion protection systems for reinforced concrete bridges under the exposure of various detrimental environments such as seawater, deicing and etc.

Recently, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plats are widely used to strength the RC beams. But the behaviour of the RC beams which is strengthened with the CFRP is not clearly defined yet. So, this experimental study was carried out for reinforced concrete beams with epoxy-bonded CFP plates. This study is selected experimental variables which are strengthening plate length, pre-loading before reinforcement and the method of anchoring the plate ends. This study investigates was strengthening effect of the RC beams by adhesion of the CFRP, and CFRP as to the respective variables.

This paper was aimed to evaluate the structural performance of flexural members repaired by polymer cement and epoxy mortar at soffit. Main test variables were repair materials, ratio of reinforcement and additional reinforcing bars. Test results shows that the repaired beams could change flexural capacity by materials and additional reinforcing bars. In polymer cement, the section repaired can carry same load, cracking moment and the flexural stiffness of the monolithic beams with same size. In epoxy mortar, all data were greater than the shotcrete. However, note that epoxy mortar may conduct member into brittle failure mode.

The aim of this research is to investigate and to compare the shear strengthening effects of steel plates and glass fiber sheets(GFS). Shear damaged beams were repaired by steel plates and GFS. Thickness of steel plates and strengthening type of GFS were taken as the parameters. With loading, the development and propagation of cracks, failure mode and deformation of strengthening materials were checked. The ultimate load was compared with formulas proposed by previous researchers.

Steel plate bonding technique is most widely used in strengthening of existing concrete structures, but it has inherently a problem of the premature failure such as interface separation and rip off. So far, many studies have been arid out in the manner of laboratory tests for the reinforced concrete beams to find out he mechanism of the premature failure. However, in order to verify the characteristics of the premature failure, more reasonable local investigations are needed rather than such relatively global experimental works. In this study, therefore, the double lap test which simulate the pure shear loadings and the half beam tests which consider combined flexure-shear force have been done. There are, however, difficulties in getting the normal stress caused to premature failure, so that finite element analysis was performed, too. In numerical study, material nonlinearity was considered, and the interface element was applied to model the interface between steel plate and adhesive. From the results of experimental and numerical studies, a realistic failure criterion on the separation of steel plates has been derived.

The structural behavior of reinforced concrete slabs strengthened by glass fiber reinforced plastic-panels experimentally investigated. The experimental variables are strengthening length, strengthening width, and pre-crack existence. The pre-cracked slabs are initially loaded to 70 percent of ultimate flexural capacity and subsequently repaired with GFRP-Panels bonded to the tension face of the slabs. Five one-way slabs were tested to failure. The main failure mode of strengthened slabs is separation failure by crack propagation from load point section to end of plate. The behavior of strengthened slabs is represented by a maximum load, load-deflection curves an load-strain curves.

The target of this study is to compare and analyze the strengthening effect of damaged reinforced concrete beams under unloading and loading conditions through the simulation of strengthening condition in real structures. The conclusion of test results are as follows : For the concrete beam wrapped at the side in addition to be strengthened at the bottom, the strength and stiffness increase. although the flexural capacity depends on the strengthening method, it generally shows that the strength improve in the range of 22% to 39% in comparison with the specimen without strengthening. In case of applying th equation suggested by CangaRao & Vijay for the wraped concrete beam, it must be modified because it is likely to overestimate the flexural capacity considering the height of wrapping as the width of concrete. The strength an stiffness of reinforced concrete beams in proportion to the percentage of damage decrease. Damaged beams, which are strengthened by CFS, is structurally efficient and show reduction of strength comparing with the specimen without strengthening but stiffness is increasing.

The Study of the Strength Prediction of RC Beam with Externally bonded Carbon Fiber Reinforced PlateThe purpose of this paper is to predict the flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beams by the external bonding of carbon fiber reinforced plate(CFRP) to the tension face of the beam. Used computational equation is derived by relation of stress an strain. This equation is applied to four-nondamage beam and tow-preloading beam. Six scale beams were tested to evaluate the strength enhancement provided by the CFRP. And describes the strength enhancement provided to the flexural capacity of reinforced concrete beam by the external bonding of CFRP. An inelastic section analysis procedure was developed that accurately predicts the load displacement response of the retrofitted beams.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural performance of reinforcement corrosion reinforced concrete beams strengthened with epoxy mortar system. Main test parameters are existence and the magnitude of the reinforcement corrosion and the reinforcing bar and the tensile reinforcement ratio of the specimens. eight beam specimens were tested to investigate the effectiveness of each test variables on maximum load capacity and failure mode. Test results showed that the ultimate moment of th specimens were higher tan the nominal moment and the flexural stiffness was increased about 2.5 times and the cracking moments occurred over 60% of the failure moment in comparison with same sized control beam. However, note that epoxy mortar may conduct member into brittle failure mode.

This paper was aimed to investigate the shear strengthening effect of the pre-loaded reinforced concrete beams strengthened by carbon fiber sheet (CFS) & steel plate. Main test parameters were the magnitude of pre-loading at the time of the retrofit, the strengthening methods of carbon fiber sheet and aid ratio. A series of seventeen specimens was tested to evaluate the corresponding effect of each parameters such as maximum load capacity, load-deflection relationship, load-strain relationship and failure mode. As a result, using the steel plate can increase the capacity of not only shear but also bending moment.

This paper presents the behavior and strenghening effect of reinforced concrete rectangular beams strengthened sing CFRP sheets with different strengthening level. In general, normally strengthened beams are failed by interfacial shear failure (delamination) within concrete, instead of by tensile failure of the CFRP sheets. The delamination occurred suddenly and the concrete cover cracked vertically by flexure was spalled off due to the release energy. The ultimate load considerably increased with an increase of strengthening level, while the ultimate deflection significantly decreased. The tensile force of CFRP sheets and average shear stress of concrete at delamination failure were curvilinearly proportional to the strengthening level. Therefore, the increment of ultimate load obtained by strengthening was curvilinearly proportional to th strengthening level.

This paper presents an experimental study on flexural behavior of structural member enlarged with epoxy mortar system. The main test variable is flexural tensile strength. A series of 4 test beams was tested to shoe the corresponding effect of each variables on maximum load capacity, load-deflection and moment-curvature relationship, interface behavior and failure mode. The results show that the flexural tensile strength of retrofitted materials have no relation load-deflection, but to load-strain, and failure mode.

Purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and reinforcement effects of restored the RC bridge deck with small precast panel through static load tests and to provide the basic information for the damaged slab decks. In the tests for realizing movement of general RC bridge slabs, 6 samples are prepared and tested. All reinforced samples are restored with 1 or 2-layers precast panels by epoxy mortar. The movement of restored slabs is analyzed and compared with the behavior of non-restored slabs. In result of these tests, tension cracks due to bending moment are show, and after static load test there happens finally a punching shear failure, which is the general type of RC bridge failure. The tests show that restoration of the RC slab results in increasing of loading capacity about 30~50% an restoring panels are stick to slab and moving with slab under loading test.

The joint treatment of concrete is one of the technical problems in top down construction method. Joints created wit the top down construction result in serous weakness from the aspects of both structural and water-barrier function. Several case studies for the insepction of top down construction joints of column in SRC structure using radar and infrared thermography method. The advantages and limitations of these methods for non-destructive inspection in top own construction joints are investigated.

The purpose of this study is to predict long-term structural safety on the Yonggwang Unit 3 prestressed concrete containment building. The aging-related degradations of its main structural materials are investigated and the effects of the property variation of time-dependent materials on the structural behavior of containment building are also assessed through the analysis on the ultimate pressure capacity. The nonlinear finite element analyses for both the design criteria condition a the present aging condition are conducted to assess the present structural capacity of the containment building As a result, it is verified that the structural capacity of the Yonggwang Unit 3 containment building under the present aging condition is judged to be still rugged. n addition, the sensitivity of the ultimate pressrue capacity of containment building according to th degradation levels of the structural materials are assessed. Finally, it is showed that the sensitivity levels are in the order of the tendon, rebar and concrete in case of individual material degradations, and the tendon-rebar, tendon-concrete and rebar-concrete in case of coupled material degradations.

Joints created with the top down construction result in serious weakness from the aspects of both structural and water-barrier function. Ultrasonic method was used for the inspection of top down construction joints of column in SRC structure in this study. As a result it has been verified that the semi-direct measurement method is more effective than the other methods for detecting the voids of construction joints.

Existence of void or delamination inside building foundation or tunneling lining can cause serious problems in structural safety. Therefore, 0probing of such voids in architectural and civil structures is an important process in evaluating the overall integrity of the structures. In this study, the radar method has been examined in its use in detecting voids inside concrete specimens. The dimensions of the specimens are 1,000 mm(width)
$\times$ 600 mm (height)$\times$ 140 mm (thickness). A void is embedded inside concrete specimens with the dimensions of 200 mm(width)$\times$ 600 mm (height)$\times$ 50 mm (thickness). Concrete cover depth of 30 mm, 60 mm is studied for comparison. In both cases, the voids is located with 1 GHz antenna. -
Reinforced concrete is in general known as high durability construction material under normal environments due to strong alkalinity of cement. Marine concrete specimens in the tidal and the splash zone at seashore have been exposed to cyclic wet and dry saltwaters which cause to accelerate corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete. If corrosion resistance of concrete gets to weaken de to carbonations and cracks in cover concrete, furthermore, concrete durability rapidly decreases by the corrosion of reinforcement steel embeded in concrete. The objective of this study is to develop appropriate corrosion protection systems of marine concrete so as to enhance the durability of concrete by establishing pertinent cover depth of concrete and by using corrosion inhibitors as concrete admixtures.

Bridge structure is known as one of important infrafacilities for comfortable human life. Recent long-span bridges, such as Kwang-Ahn Grand bridge, Seo-hae Grand Bridge, Young-Jong Grand Bridge, etc, have been designed and constructed near the seaside without in-depth consideration of concrete durability problem. It is in particular noted tat corrosion of reinforcement steel in concrete is very important for the durability enhancement of concrete structures. The objective of this experimental study is to investigate the corrosion behavior of reinforcing steels in concrete specimens which are exposed to cyclic wet and dry saltwaters, and then to develop pertinent corrosion protection system such as rational cover depth, corrosion inhibitors, cathodic system for reinforced bridges exposed to marine environment.

The purpose of this study is developing concrete Mixing & placing method that could be adjusted to vertical joint at top-down method. Basic test was consists of general, high fluidity, and high quality mixing concretes and Mock-up test had several placing ways, placing positions. They were examined several placing ways, placing positions with Mock-up model comparison with three mixing concrete to know fluidity characterics. Used with Mock-up model to know packing ability from placing ways and positions. The result of the study like this; High fluidity and High quality concretes show favorable packing ability, especially, in sheath placing way. It was expected to good result in next planned real structure test.

The purpose of this study is promote perfect of construction and progress of packing ability through comparison and analysis with quality, as placing ways and placing direction are changed. Kinds of concrete are general, high fluidity, and high performance concrete. Classified with concrete as placing ways - direct ways, sheath way - and placing directing - flange direction, web direction - is analyzed section and strength of hardened concrete. The results of this study is belows the more fluid of concrete, the more useful to top-down method.

This paper presents an evaluation of the behavior and strength of two pre-tensioned concrete deep beams tested to failure with using the nonlinear strut-tie model approach. In the approach, the effective prestressing forces represented be equivalent external loads are gradually introduced along its transfer length in the nearest strut-tie model joints, the friction at the interface of main diagonal shear cracks is modeled by diagonal struts along the direction of the cracks in strut tie-model, and additional positioning of concrete ties a the place of steel ties is incorporated. Through the analysis of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams, the nonlinear strut-tie model approach proved to present effective solutions for prediction the essential aspects of the behavior and strength of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams.

According to the results of this research, Production of Fold Mortar Permanent - Form was found to be possible by Mortar. Th FP-Form (Fold Permanent-Form) mortar had compress strength 580kgf/
$\textrm{cm}^2$ . FP-Form model was made by the result of the first research. There was no minute-crack on beam form and the outer surface of form was very smooth, and those qualities it were made possible hand-mad by experiment. This study is about bond strength progress of FP-Form that developed for the form work rationalization and systematization. The result of this study follows; (1) Fluidity and strength development of mortar which used for FP-Form are satisfied (2) After study on getting good bond strength progress, inside-uneven type presents the better suitableness, and wire netting V-type presents the better shear strength. -
During the placement of concrete in cold weather, there are serious problems due to frozen concrete in the early stage. These adverse effects prevent the hardening of concrete. There are special mixing, handling, placement and crying to minimize problems. Heat crying and sheet curing have been used in crying steps in order to reduce problems. However, these curing methods are not efficient because it is hard to obtain the good quality and strength of concrete, and moreover, it needs additional works for curing. In this study, we evaluate the application of cold weather concrete by the dose antifreezing admixture in concrete mix design. Because it is easy to handle inconstruction site and improve the quality of concrete. As the result of this paper is to present a successful case for the practical use of cold weather concrete.

Reinforced concrete structure can be strengthened by glass fiber reinforced plastic thin panels. The GFRP-Thin Panels are manufactured by pressing form and their application technique are similar to steel plates. The use of FGRP-Thin Panels presents several advantages. The advantages of this structural system are the case of application, the elimination of joint and corrosion at the epoxy-panel interface. This paper introduces the method of manufacturing about GFRP-Thin Panels, mechanical properties and the application of reinforced concrete structures.

A prototype expert system for normal concrete mix design was developed using an technical consulting system development tool, EXSYS Professional. The knowledge contained in the system was obtained from the standard specifications of Korea Concrete Institute, American Concrete Institute and from the related British Standards. The knowledge base and user interface will be expanded to cover wider scopes of the problems. If the system is successfully developed as an operational system, it will produce a great deal of economic benefits by reducing the time and money needed to obtain an expert's judgement and experience in decision making for repetitive tasks related to concrete mix proportions.

As conventional grouting materials for the sheath such as cement slurry or cement-mortar are mixed and pumped in site, those harden with bleeding or shrinkage and meets low compressive strength. Also the materials haven't always same cements, sand size distributions, additives in site, so those materials have unstable quality properties. We have studies on ready-mixed-mortar for grouting pretensioned or post-tensioned cables and rods to encapsulate the steel so that we have developed a formulation of specially selected, flowable, shrinkage-compensating materials.

Crack detection technique for concrete structures has been developed in this study,. The technique utilizes OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) method that is widely used in the field of optical engineering. At present, some techniques, such as the naked eye inspection, inspection by crack gauge, ultra sonic detection and os on, are used for crack detection. However, these are not economical and are often time-consuming works. This method employs a common optical fiber as a means of crack detection. Th optical fiber is fully attached to concrete surface, and a crack on concrete could be detected to synchronize with the crack on optical fiber. The experimental verification was performed for concrete beams and the intial crack on the beam was detected under cracking force.

Because the construction type SFRB is completely different in comparison with that of RC apartment the construction and work process, which are currently used, have to be changed. The main purpose of study is to analyze the difficulties of this construction and to apply the technology for other construction area. In this study, it is investigated to the problems of construction for SFRB and the construction method of PC panel fabricated on SFRB in Yongin goosng. Later, it is estimated prefabricated method had an great effect on PC panel System as lower cost and shorter schedule in SFRB. The Precast concrete framed System has many merit than the reinforced concrete structures system at constructability, structural safety and quality, therefore, it will be widely applied at parking structure in the future.
