Foreground/background segmentation in video sequences is often one of the first tasks in machine vision applications, making it a critical part of the system. In this paper, we present an improved sample-based technique that provides robust background image as well as segmentation mask. The conventional multiple interval sampling (MIS) algorithm have suffer from the unbalance of computation time per frame and the rapid change of confidence factor of background pixel. To balance the computation amount, a random-based pixel update scheme is proposed and a spatial and temporal smoothing technique is adopted to increase reliability of the confidence factor. The proposed method allows the sampling queue to have more dispersed data in time and space, and provides more continuous and reliable confidence factor. Experimental results revealed that our method works well to estimate stable background image and the foreground mask.

We have investigated the effect of the hydrogen flow rate on the characteristics of IZO thin films for the TCO (transparent conducting oxide). For this purpose, IZO thin films are deposited by RF magnetron sputtering at 300℃ with various H₂ flow rate. To investigate the influences of the ambient gases, the flow rate of hydrogen in argon was varied from 0.1 sccm to 1 sccm. The IZO thin films deposited at 300℃ show crystalline structure having an (222) preferential orientation. The electrical resistivity of the crystalline-IZO films deposited at 300℃ and hydrogen gas of 0.8sccm was 3.192×10^-4Ω cm, the lowest value. As the hydrogen gas flow rate increased, the resistivity tended to decrease. The XPS profiles showed that the number of oxygen vacancy decreased as the hydrogen flow rate increased. The transmittance of the IZO films deposited at 300℃ were showed more than 80%.

The protective double layer polymer coatings on silica optical fibers are realized by wet-on-wet liquid coating process and they play an important role in final quality of mass produced optical fibers. This numerical study aims to analyze the effects of secondary coating die design parameters by employing two dimensional axisymmetric model of coating cup and coating die geometry and computational fluid dynamics simulations which include temperature dependent viscosity of polymer coating liquids and viscous dissipation heating. Under high speed fiber drawing conditions and pressurized coating liquid supply, the effects of converging die angle are investigated in order to appreciate the change of coating liquid flow patterns such as flow recirculation zone near coating die as well as primary and secondary coating layer thicknesses. The auxiliary coating die to converging coating die is also tested and the results find that this concept is advantageous in achieving stable double layer coatings on silica glass fiber.

In this study, the Ag nano-dots structure was applied to the textured wafer surface to improve the light trapping effect of crystalline silicon solar cell. The Ag nano-dots structure was formed by the annealing of Ag thin film. Ag thin film deposition was performed using a thermal evaporator. The effect of light trapping was compared and analyzed through light reflectance measurements. The optimization process of the Ag nano-dots structure was made by varying the thickness of Ag thin film, the annealing temperature and time. The thickness of Ag thin films was in the range of 5 ~ 20 nm. The annealing temperature was in the range of 450~650℃ and the annealing time was in the range of 30 ~ 60 minutes. As a result, the light reflectance of 10 nm Ag thin film annealed at 650℃ for 30 minutes showed the lowest value of about 9.67%. This is a value that is about 3.37% lower than the light reflectance of the sample that has undergone only the texturing process. Finally, the change of the light reflectance by the HF treatment of the sample on which the Ag nano-dots structure was formed was investigated. The HF treatment time was in the range of 0 ~ 120 seconds. As a result, the light reflectance decreased by about 0.41% due to the HF treatment for 75 seconds.

In this paper, we have analyzed manufacturing problems of the scaffold with pores using FDM 3D printer and PLGA. We suggested the solutions using 3SC practical TRIZ. We selected the final solution used machine learning. We reduced number of experiments using most influential factor after analysis print factors. We printed the scaffold and measured pore size. We created the regression model using python tensorflow. The print condition data of measured pore size was used as training data. We predicted the pore size of printed condition using regression model. We printed the scaffold using the predicted the print condition data. We quantitatively compare the predicted scaffold pore size data and the measured scaffold pore size data. We got satisfactory result.

Human beings have been fascinated by the applicability of the medium of photography since the device was first introduced in the thirteenth century to acquire images by attempting primitive and rudimentary approaches. In the 21st century, it has been developed as a wide range of technology that enables not only the application of artistic expression as a method of replacing the human-hand-painted screen but also the planar recording form in the format of video or image. It is more effective to use the information extracted from the image data rather than to use a randomly given file name in order to provide a variety of services in the offline or online system. When extracting an identifier from a region of an image, high cost cannot be avoided. This paper discusses the image entropy-based approach and proposes a linear methodology to measure the image entropy in an effort to devise a solution to this method.

Hybrid-type transparent electrodes were fabricated by depositing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via spray coating on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates and then coating the CNTs with [poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)] (PEDOT) films via electro-polymerization. For all of the fabricated electrodes, their surface morphologies, electric sheet resistances, visible transmittances, and color properties (e.g., yellowness) were characterized as functions of the applied voltages and process times used in electro-polymerization. The sheet resistance of the CNTs was significantly reduced by the coating of PEDOT, while their visible transmittances slightly decreased. The yellowness values of the PEDOT-coated CNTs were observed to have substantially decreased via electro-polymerization. The experimental results confirmed that the fabricated hybrid electrodes had desirable properties for the application of transparent electrode in terms of the electrical resistance, optical transmittance, and chromaticity.

In this paper, we introduce the novel idea to improve parallel test efficiency of semiconductor test. The idea includes the test interface card consisting of NoC structure able to transmitting test data regardless of ATE speed. We called the scheme "Multi-Clock" mode. In the proposed mode, because NoC can spread over the test data in various rates, many semiconductors are tested in the same time. We confirm the proposed idea will be promising through a FPGA board test and it is important to find a saturation point of the Multi-Clock mode due to the number of test chips and ATE channels.

The three different polymer compounds were manufactured with the three different fire retardant (silane coated magnesium dihydroxide) contents, 180, 200, 220 phr, for making cable sheath for ship industry. In the research, ethylene-vinylacetate, polyethylene as matrix polymers and ethylene-vinylacetate grafted maleic anhydride as coupling agent were selected for compounding with fire retardant, closslinking agent, plasticizer, and other additives. In the evaluation. ΔT, Mooney viscosity, and tensile strength increased with the content of fire retardant. But it was found that too much fire retardant damaged aging resistance and cold resistance of the polymer compound.

Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) composites, incorporated with graphene, molybdenum disulfide and their hybrid in different filling ratio, were fabricated by a two roll-mill. The dispersion states of all the samples' matrix were employed by carbon black dispersion tester. The curing properties of the pre-vulcanized rubber composites were investigated, after molding by heating press machine, the tensile strength, storage modulus, friction coefficient, the swelling property had also been tested according to ASTM. The composite G1M10 (filling with 1 phr graphene and 10 phr molybdenum) showed the best mechanical properties and viscoelastic properties in this research with a better filler dispersion state and more compact matrix structure.

In this paper, the hybrid illumination system for effectively detecting surface defects in steel plate with lowcontrast, non-uniformity and featureless is designed based on illuminance uniformity. First of all, characteristics of steel plate defects were considered and typical inspection illumination system is implemented. Optimum illumination parameters for uniformly illuminating an inspection area in the typical illumination system are selected based on the illuminance uniformity and illuminance distribution measurement. The illuminance uniformity and illuminance distribution are measured using an illuminometer based on the arduino. Through illuminance distribution analysis of the typical illumination, an hybrid illumination is designed by fusing bi-directional illumination and coaxial illumination. The hybrid illumination showed higher uniformity ratio and illuminance distribution than the typical illuminations. The hybrid illumination system showed the ability to uniformly illuminate the entire inspection region of steel plate surface.

In shape from focus (SFF) methods, the quality of image focus volume plays a vital role in the quality of 3D shape reconstruction. Traditionally, a linear 2D filter is applied to each slice of the image focus volume to rectify the noisy focus measurements. However, this approach is problematic because it also modifies the accurate focus measurements that should ideally remain intact. Therefore, in this paper, we propose to enhance the focus volume adaptively by applying 3-dimensional weighted least squares (3D-WLS) based regularization. We estimate regularization weights from the guidance volume extracted from the image sequences. To solve 3D-WLS optimization problem efficiently, we apply a technique to solve a series of 1D linear sub-problems. Experiments conducted on synthetic and real image sequences demonstrate that the proposed method effectively enhances the image focus volume, ultimately improving the quality of reconstructed shape.

A Q-switched diode-pumped neodymium-doped yttrium vanadate (YVO₄, λ =1064nm) laser was used for the direct patterning of indium tin oxide (ITO) films on glass substrate. During the laser direct patterning, the laser beam was incident on the two different directions of glass substrate and the laser ablated patterns were compared and analyzed. At a low scanning speed of laser beam, the larger laser etched lines were obtained by laser beam incident in reverse side of glass substrate. On the contrary, at a higher scanning speed, the larger etched pattern sizes were found in case of the beam incidence from front side of glass substrate. Furthermore, it was impossible to find no ablated patterns in some laser beam conditions for the laser beam from reverse side at a much higher scanning speed and repetition rate of laser beam. The laser beam is expected to be transferred and scattered through the glass substrate and the laser beam energy is thought to be also dispersed and much more influenced by the overlapping of each laser beam spot.

Recently, Korea has been making efforts at the government level to overcome the national crisis that Japan's dependency on technology in the semiconductor and display materials sectors has also escaped due to export regulations on three materials carried out by Japan. Therefore, based on the data of the National Science & Technology Information Service (NTIS) operated by the government, we analyze the trend of R & D investment in the display field, thereby improving R & D to improve material technology competitiveness in the future. Let's examine the implications of investment. A total of 5 years of new research and development investment in the field of display was invested as basic research fund for 25%, 15% for applied research, and 53% for development research. In terms of development cost and development period, the basic research showed that the amount of money and the development period were shorter than that of applied research. In other words, the basic research accounted for 25% of the R & D investment and the average R & D period was only 3.2 years. As we can see from the recent development of H fiber carbon fiber, which was recently developed and entered full-scale production, we were able to succeed because of the benefits of government support for 10 years while giving the same material title differently. In order to escape from Japan's technological dependence on semiconductor and display materials in Korea, As such, basic research in the field of materials is only possible when long-term research is conducted.

One of the most critical aspects of the semiconductor industry is the quality of the wafer surface. And the vibrations of wafer grinder are supposed to be the most dominant factors to damage the wafer surface quality. In this study, structure of a wafer grinder has been analyzed through experiments and computer simulations to figure out the main reasons of the vibrations. And the design alterations based on the analysis were applied to identify the effects of those alterations on the vibration suppression. The result shows that the design alterations can effectively suppress about 90% of the vibrations.

Automotive industry requires high technologies to stabilize apparatuses for the EGR valve manufacturing. Vibrations of washing machine are one of the most critical factors for causing unwashed products, which are the main reasons of the defects.In this study, the structure of the washing machine was analyzed through the experiment and the computer simulation to investigate the main reasons of the vibrations, and further to alter the design for the improved stability. And the design alterations were applied to the machine to identify the effects of those alterations.The result of the study shows that design alterations of the washing machine can effectively suppress about 85% of the vibrations, and further can minimize the unwashed EGR valve.

It is a wine recommendation application service designed for people who sometimes drink wine but lack information and have no place to recommend. This study is to develop UI display design method of wine recommendation service using chatbot. The research method was a case study on Korean wine market, a case study on artificial intelligence market, SWOT analysis of wine-related chatbots, and a competitor analysis of related industries. In addition, surveys and in-depth interviews examined the level of interest and understanding of chatbots, and what kind of chatbots they had encountered and what requirements and goals they faced. After grasping the needs and requirements of users, we created a service concept sheet according to them and produced an application UI design that users can use most easily. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it proposes a UI design that can search wine information more sophisticated and convenient than face-to-face communication through artificial intelligence service called chatbot and recommend wines that match the taste.

We have investigated the feasibility of fabricating fine stripes using needle coating for potential applications in solution-processed organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). To this end, we have employed an aqueous poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) solution that has been widely used as a hole injection layer (HIL) of OLEDs and performed needle coatings by varying the process parameters such as the coating gap and coating speed. As expected, the stripe width is reduced with increasing coating speed. However, the central thickness of the stripe is rather increased as the coating speed increases, which is different from other coating processes such as slot-die and blade coatings. It is due to the fact that the meniscus formed between the needle tip and the substrate varies depending sensitively on the coating speed. It is also found that the stripe width and thickness are reduced with increasing coating gap. To demonstrate its applicability to OLEDs, we have fabricated a red OLED stripe and obtained light emission with the width of about 90㎛.

Plasmons have conductive properties using the effect of amplifying magnetic and electric fields around metal particles. The collective movement of free electrons in metal particles induces and produces the generation of plasmon. Because the plasmon is concentrated on the surface of the nanoparticles, it is also called the surface plasmon. The polarizing effect of plasma on the surface is similar to the principle of surface currents occurring in insulators. In this study, it was found the conditions under which plasma is produced in SiOC insulators and studied the electrical properties of SiOC insulators that are improved in conductivity by plasmons. Due to the heat treatment temperature of thin film, plasma formation was shown differently, metal particles were used with normal aluminium, SiOC thin films were treated with heat at 60 degrees, conductivity was improved dramatically, and heat treatment at higher temperatures was found to be less conductivity.

Recently, video monitoring system technology has been rapidly developed to monitor and respond quickly to various situations. In particular, computer vision and related research are being actively carried out to track objects in the video. This paper proposes an efficient multiple objects detection method based on convolutional neural network (CNN) for multiple objects tracking. The results of the experiment show that multiple objects can be detected and tracked in the video in the proposed method, and that our method is also good performance in complex environments.

Response surface methodology (RSM) is used to investigate the complex coupling effects of different operating parameters on silicon growth rate in planetary CVD reactor. Based on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model, an accurate RSM model is obtained to predict the growth rate with different parameters, including temperature, pressure, rotation speed of the wafer, and the mole fraction of dichlorosilane (DCS). Analysis of variance is used to estimate the contributions of process parameters and their interactions. Among the four operating parameters that have been studied, the influences of susceptor temperature and the operating pressure were the most significant factors that affect silicon growth rate, followed by the mole fraction of DCS. The influence of wafer rotation is the least. The validation tests show that the results of silicon deposition rate obtained from the regression model are in good agreement with those from CFD model and the maximum deviations is 2.15%.

These-days technology related to IoT (Internet of Thing) is widely used and there are many types of smart system based IoT like smart health, smart building and so on. In smart health system, it is possible to check someone's health by analyzing data from wearable IoT device like smart watch. Smart building system aims to collect data from sensor such as humidity, temperature, human counter like that and control the building for energy efficiency, security, safety and so forth. Furthermore, smart city system can comprise several smart systems like smart building, smart health, smart mobility, smart energy and etc. In this paper, we propose multimedia IoT based intelligent emergency alarm system for smart city. In existing IoT based smart system, it communicates lightweight data like text data. In the past, due to network's limitations lightweight IoT protocol was proposed for communicating data between things but now network technology develops, problem which is to communicate heavy data is solving. The proposed system obtains video from IP cameras/CCTVs, analyses the video by exploiting AI algorithm for detecting emergencies and prevents them which cause damage or death. If emergency is detected, the proposed system sends warning message that emergency may occur to people or agencies. We built prototype of the intelligent emergency alarm system based on MQTT and assured that the system detected dangerous situation and sent alarm messages. From the test results, it is expected that the system can prevent damages of people, nature and save human life from emergency.

This paper presents an overview of automotive communication technologies, including related technology developments. We describe the latency of Audio Video Bridge (AVB) network as well as purpose the optimized design of the Ethernet network system for automotive. Our design plays a significant role in reducing the delay between components. The proposed approach on realistic test cases showed that there was a delay reduction, approximately 49.4%. It is expected that the optimization method for the actual automotive environment can greatly shorten the time period in the design and development process. The results obtained from the experiments on the delay time present in each function are reliable because average values are obtained through repeated actual tests for several months. It will greatly benefit the industry since analyzing the latency between each function in a short period of time is very important.

The utilizations of ceramics in the modern industries are increasing due to the desirable combinations of electrical, mechanical and physical properties found in ceramics. Ceramic materials are brittle, hard, strong in compression, weak in shearing and tension which is prone to affect the defects such as scratch, crack and breakage during the machining. Generally, the defects of the ceramic machining are generated from the structural vibrations of the machine. In this study, the dynamic characteristics of a machining center for ceramic machining were investigated to analyze the structural vibrations for the improved stability. Frequency response test and computer simulation have been conducted for the analysis and the design improvement. The improved design is suggested to suppress vibrations for the higher stability of the machine and further to reduce vibrations. And the result shows that simple design alterations without any change of major parts of the machine can reduce the vibration of the machine effectively.

The Internet has been expanded constantly and greatly such that we are having vast number of web pages with dynamic changes. Especially, the fast development of wireless communication technology and the wide spread of various smart devices enable information being created at speed and changed anywhere, anytime. In this situation, web crawling, also known as web scraping, which is an organized, automated computer system for systematically navigating web pages residing on the web and for automatically searching and indexing information, has been inevitably used broadly in many fields today. This paper aims to implement a prototype web crawler with Python and to improve the execution speed using threads on multicore CPU. The results of the implementation confirmed the operation with crawling reference web sites and the performance improvement by evaluating the execution speed on the different thread configurations on multicore CPU.

This paper describes the results of a study on the unmanned maintenance robot that simultaneously performs the cleaning and inspection of the photovoltaic panels. The robot has a special adsorptive device, an infrared sensor, a vacuum level sensor and a camera. The robot uses two SSC (Sliding Suction Cup) adsorptive devices to move up and down the slope. First, the forces generated when the robot moves up the slope are mechanically analyzed, and the required design and control of the adsorption system are suggested. The robot was designed and manufactured to operate stably by using the presented results. Next, the normal force between the panel and the wheel was measured to confirm that the robot was manufactured and operated as intended, and the robot motion was tested on the inclined panel. It has been proven that robots are well designed and built to clean and inspect sloped panels.
