The purpose of this study is to design the instructional model to develop logical thinking competency of engineering students and to investigate the effect of the model. The instructional model is composed of the virtual context (films were provided), problem solving, feedback, another problem solving with different perspectives, feedback. The process is looped. The results showed statistically significant improvements between pre- and post-test. The first standardized test of critical thinking showed the improvement from pre-test to post-test (d=0.646). The second test of logical thinking showed the improvement from pre-test to mid-term test (d=0.753) and improvement from mid-term to post-test (d=1.529).

The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of self-respect, academic self-efficacy, and career maturity on student adaptation to college and learning persistence. For this study, a web survey was conducted on the students who were in college of engineering at D college in Seoul. A total of 702 samples were analyzed for this research. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, all variables (self-respect, academic self-efficacy, career maturity) had positive effects on student adaptation to college significantly. Secondly, self-respect and academic self-efficacy had positive effects on learning persistence except career maturity. Thridly, the mediation analyses revealed that the relations between learning persistence and self-respect, academic self-efficacy, and career maturity were partially mediated by student adaptation to college. Finally, student adaptation to college had also positive effects on learning persistence. The results indicate a need to enhance student adaptation to college and design programs that support learning persistence for university students.

The objective of this study is to investigate the gender differences in employment and career development paths of engineering graduates. 16 male and 16 female engineering H University alumni who graduated within last 6 years were interviewed. The interviews were recorded and transcribed, then analyzed by the Colaizzi method, a phenomenological qualitative data analysis method. The interview questions focused on three stages: selection and retention of one's major, employment preparation, and career development after employment. The gender differences pertaining to success factors, barriers, and psychological characteristics at each stage were identified. Interviewees were examined for general disposition during early career development and job-related characteristics. For women, strengths and weaknesses at work were also examined. Based on the results of this study, programs for successful employment and career development were suggested for H University, which can also be applied to other engineering institutions.

The necessity of convergence education is more emphasized based on the education policy for fostering creative men of talent. Inside universities, however, programs for training talented individuals are still at primary stage. Universities understanding the importance of convergence education and thus founding some major fields of convergence studies have experienced hosts of troubles. The paper discusses the necessary plans of supports from the government and the university to activate the convergence education in accord with the social demands. Twenty-eight professors in engineering colleges participated in the survey for reviewing the required factors for the convergence education. In addition, structured interviews were carried out with three specialists working in industry and academic area of convergence technology. The study could suggest the following activation plans based on the government supports: (1) establishing a support center of convergence education, (2) founding a major field of convergence, (3) developing curriculums and curriculum subjects, and (4) hosting related conferences and forums. Also, the study could suggest the following activation plans based on the university supports: (1) developing special programs on convergence education in accord with the industrial demands, (2) revising regulations and administrative systems more flexible for the convergence education, and (3) providing incentives to the participants in the convergence education.

This study has the purpose to identify the correlation of engineering education major college students' technological problem solving tendency between technological problem solving capability. To that end, the technological problem solving tendencies of 79 students enrolled in engineering education related department in college of education, 'C' University located in Daejeon metropolitan city were examined, and the correlation of technological problem solving tendency between technological problem solving capability was analyzed through measurement of technological problem solving capability. As for the correlation among problem solving confidence a sub-element of technological problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 3, result 4 and result average. As for the correlation among approach-avoidance tendency a sub-element of technological problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 5 and result average. As for the correlation among self-control recognition degree the sub-element of technological problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 1, result 3 and result average. As for the correlation among problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 3, result 4, result 5 and result average.

본 연구의 목적은 현업적용도 평가를 실시하여 교육과정, 교육방법, 교육환경 등의 교육시스템 개선 방안을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 현업적용도 개념과 이론을 탐색하였다. 연구방법으로는 노혜란, 박선희(2011)가 개발한 현업적용도 연구도구를 활용하여 30명의 기계공학과 졸업생을 대상으로 설문 및 반구조화된 문항으로 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 현업적용도 설문결과 대학에서 배운 전공교과목이 업무와 관련 정도가 평균 4.27로 나타나 매우 높은 것으로 측정되었다. 뿐만 아니라 현업에 적용하는 기회도 평균 4.10으로 나타나 현업활용도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 교육과정에 관한 설문결과는 현업에서 필요한 전공 및 교양과목이었다고 생각하느냐에 대한 문항에 평균 3.90의 결과가 나타났고, 현업적용을 높이는 실제적인 문제나, 사례, 경험 등이 활용되는 수업을 받았는지에 대한 문항에 평균 2.63으로 낮은 점수를 나타냈다. 인터뷰 결과 대학의 교육과정은 전공의 경우 현업에 대부분 직접적으로 활용되는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 전공동아리 활동, 팀프로젝트 등의 활동을 한 것이 현업에서 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나 지속적으로 강화해야 하는 것으로 조사되었다.

In this paper, the evaluation system in order to achieve the program education objectives of Accreditaion Board for engineering education of Korea, analyze the educational objectives evaluation tool case studies of programs that are run by each university, the program educational objectives to match the actual situation of university I have developed a distinction between questions the evaluation and assessment system. Configuration, execution, measurement, analysis, is a five-step mooring, the evaluation tool, is a graduate research you are currently using the most in Korea, the employer survey, education target assessment model of the program, employment trends of graduates, I decided to graduate focus group interviews. Distinction between questions, the evaluation also developed a questionnaire to derive the important keywords of education for each objectives. Improvement evaluation tool, the evaluation criteria is required, the University is preparing evaluate (NGR) in South Korea engineering education certification next regularly, requires research on semantic analysis of the results of measurement of the educational goals of the program in the future some.

이 연구에서는 한국교통대학교와 한국교원대학교의 공과대학 학생들 240명과 성인지공학교육환경개선 프로그램을 맡아 학생들을 가르친 8명의 공대 교수들, 그리고 충북에 소재한 공학계열 기업 대표 28명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 여성의 취업과 직장에서의 성공에 대한 인식을 비교하였다. 연구결과, 학생들과 교수들, 그리고 기업에서 생각하는 여성의 취업에 필요한 능력과 직장에서의 성공을 위한 능력은 차이가 있었다. 특히 기업에서는 인성과 정의적 역량을 중요하게 생각하므로, 효과적인 성인지공학교육환경개선 프로그램을 통해 여학생들이 여성의 장점을 살리고, 부족한 점을 보완하는 과정을 통해 앞으로 많은 취업의 수요를 창출하고, 기업에서 선호하는 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 노력을 기울일 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this paper are to evaluate the program outcome(PO) for mechanical engineering program at Chosun University, In order to achieve the objectives of this study, we analyze the evaluation system on measuring and analyzed methods of PO. We expect that the evaluation system of PO will help program members to efficiently manage the engineering program accreditation evaluations. This paper were to improve PO evaluation system throughout assessment tools, measurements and analysis of PO between current students and faculty. This study would be confined measurements, analysis and improvement of PO for current students, and faculty in this program.

This paper presents an undergraduate curriculum flowchart model for industrial engineering. Because Industrial Engineering deals with wider categories today than before, the coherent curriculum flowchart design is very difficult. We propose an effective approach using knowledge profile analysis for each course.
