This study was conducted to identify Korea's TRIZ research trends and to propose implications for setting a direction for future TRIZ research by analyzing TRIZ-related research over the past 15 years, or from 1998 to 2013. The subjects in this study were 256 published studies, including 149 studies in academic journals, 97 master theses, and 10 doctorate theses. This study reached the following conclusion. First, academic journals were the most frequent form of publication of TRIZ-related studies, followed by master's degree theses, and doctorate theses. Second, two or more TRIZ tools were used to solve problems and the most frequently used topic was technical contradiction as the result of frequency analysis for TRIZ research topics. This signified that it was easier to solve problems when various TRIZ tools were used, rather than applying a single TRIZ tool while technical contradiction was considered to be actively used as it allowed the relatively easy understanding of TRIZ. Third, the use of TRIZ research topics had increased and diversified each year. This could be interpreted to be based on the increased understanding of TRIZ. Fourth, case studies and experimental research were the most frequently used methods in TRIZ-related research. This was because various TRIZ tools were applied on problem solving situations, which were directly proposed as the research result. Fifth, the use of TRIZ was increasing in the educational field. Specifically, it was noted that TRIZ was used in creativity education with the use of 40 invention principles in elementary, middle, and high schools.

Team activities in engineering curriculum play the major role in nourishing students with problem-solving and team-working capabilities. Educators endeavor to guide students to achieve success experiences through team activities. The sense of success depends on how the students think and feel about team activities. In this study, we investigated the students thoughts on team activity in various aspects. We provided freshmen and juniors with a set of questionnaire and gathered answers, from which we tried to elicit implication that we may apply for coaching their team activities. The analysis result shows that the perception level of freshmen on team activities is less mature in a sense that the freshmen's view is more neutral than that of juniors. Regardless of the grade, they show that they put more emphasis on the team atmosphere than on the team performance. Especially the freshmen are more sensitive to the relationship between the team members than the juniors. The juniors concern more about whether they prepare well enough for the team activities or not. Both of the grades prefer self-regulation in team formation and think the leadership is essential in performing team activities. However, they both hesitate to take a role as a leader. We expect the research result will provide novel ideas for coaching students to obtain valuable experiences on team activities.

Communication is for making a passage to communicate with various modern narratives or various people. Therefore, it needs to be reorganized by these changes and demands. Especially in case of country students learning natural science and engineering are appreciating the necessity of speaking education. So a program which contains both speaking and writing should be organized. These days, ICT-related products are pouring out due to development of mobile technology and increase of smart phones. Among the ICT-related products, wearable devices are being spotlighted with the advent of hyper-connected society. In this paper, a body-attached type wearable device using EMG(electromyography) sensors is studied. The research field of EMG sensors is divided into two parts. One is medical area and another is control device area. This study corresponds to the latter that is a method of transmitting user's manipulation intention to robots, games or computers through the measurement of EMG. We used commercial device MYO developed by Thalmic Labs in Canada and matched up EMG of arm muscles with gesture controller. In the experiment part, first of all, various arm motions for controlling devices are defined. Finally, we drew several distinguishing kinds of motions through analysis of the EMG signals and substituted a joystick with the motions.

The purposes of the study were to examine engineering students' concerns and problems while they were choosing a project topic in interdisciplinary collaboration and to suggest ways to support them in an early stage of collaboration phase. To answer the research questions, we conducted a case study with engineering participants in GCTI 2015, an interdisciplinary collaborative and creative group project. Multiple data sources including focus group interviews, online survey and researchers' observation notes were used to triangulate research findings. We found four main concerns of engineering students. These concerns include (1) lack of self-efficacy, (2) limited resources, (3) lack of shared, meaningful, and common goals, and (4) lack of content knowledge. Based on these concerns we proposed four supports in an early stage of the collaborative project. These supports includes (1) implementing an orientation program, (2) providing opportunities for social interactions, (3) providing expert feedback, and (4) providing consultation for team building.

New occupational qualification system built on NCS(National Competency Standard) aimed to induce industries, the final appliers of qualification, to play a leading role in designing qualification and to spontaneously apply such qualification standard to employment and promotion so as to reinforce universality of qualification. In this study, we verified the validity of NCS level of qualification categories for 130 occupational fields by redesigning NCS-based new occupational qualification system with a focus on 7 major areas, including mechanical field, which were found to have wide-ranging social ripple effect throughout society and high acceptability in 2014. The results of study on suitability at qualification level suggested the followings: First, there is a difference in number of competency units for each qualification category, depending on area. New qualification covering 7 major areas included 15.3 competency units for each qualification category, which exceeds the number of competency units(about 10 units) in subdivided NCS. By field, some difference was found with 7.9 competency units for cultural field and 22.6 competency units for information and communication area. Second, preference above normal level was observed in the criteria, procedure and method for determining qualification redesigning. However, preference below normal level was exhibited in connection with possibility of linkage with overseas qualifications, although preference was above normal level in relation to the suitability of design/qualification level and qualification categories based on lifelong career development path within scope of NCS as the criteria for determining the redesign of qualification categories. Second, we compared NCS level and SC(Sector Council level, and the results showed that NCS level was found to be somewhat well-defined. For the qualifications with different definitions, it was deemed difficult to determine superiority between NCS level and SC level. However, majority opinion indicated that it would be desirable to follow NCS level because NCS was created through collection of opinions for a prolonged period.

This paper was built for an activation of a merged education and development of non-subject, new type creative merged education program having effectivities. This program is disciplined a kind of flipped learning and camp program of 2 nights and 3 days. Given a problem which big enough and open-ended problem, multidisciplinary team that composed with engineering and design major students works the capstone design project. For ordinary engineering design process, 'how can we make?' was important. But in this program 'what can we make?' is more serious question. Our program was pursuing an creative idea that can induce innovation. Teaching or interference of professors was minimized and then students solve the problem theirselves by long time and liberal brainstorming. Last products is not real goods and only a proposal for manufacturing. Finally, the results are presented using ppt and board. After not only professors but also students of other teams can ask a question, resolve and comment on that proposal. The benefits of this program are that inner members of university take a whole process from planning and working to last evaluation. Besides economic benefit, they can secure an infrastructure for development of creative merged education program by running for several times and so can improve the program continuously. For an aspect of students, they can respond to recently highlighted creative experiences that required for recruitment.

To enhance the university-industry collaboration, a novel program named as Internship & Capstone Design Integrated program (ICIP) is developed by Dongguk University. Senior students must take one Capstone design class for graduation. By participating in summer Internship and one-year Capstone Design work, practical problems given by businesses are solved. The ICIP is a Project and Internship-based course. By participating in summer internship and one-year Capstone Design work, practical problems given by businesses are solved. The internship course requires students to work in teams under mentors who work in the partner company proposed project themes. Students apply their academic experiences in constructing real projects at work under the supervision of their site mentors and academic advisor. In this regard, this study attempts to present a case study on the assessment of program outcomes using the Internship.
