The purpose of universities is diversifying, such as education and research for the transfer of knowledge and technology, and training talented people with the competencies required in industrial sites. Therefore, universities are attempting various forms of industry-academic cooperation to maintain organic relations with companies and to conduct research activities, technology sharing, technology development, technology transfer, and human resources training. In particular, in the field of engineering education, various industry-academic cooperation programs such as field training, interns, and start-up support are actively developed and operated. Accordingly, the Engineering Education Innovation Research Information Center developed an online industry-academic cooperation capstone design matching platform for engineering education to enable collaboration between universities and companies nationwide. The industry-academic cooperation matching platform was developed under the theme of capstone design. Capstone design is a project-oriented and problem-based learning method that combines the knowledge and experiences acquired by the undergraduate department and designs and produces them. The subject of the Capstone design project was to solve corporate difficulties and allow companies and universities to collaborate. This study developed an online industry-academic cooperation capstone design matching platform according to analysis, design, development, evaluation, and execution procedures. This study is meaningful in that it has developed a channel through which students and companies, who are the subjects of industry-academic cooperation, can carry out projects and communicate organically through an online matching platform.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of VR-based industrial safety education compared with conventional methods. For the study, three types of safety learning contents(VR-based learning, rule-based learning, and case-based learning) were developed and implemented with three college students groups. The results show that VR-based learning was effective in sustaining learning outcomes compared to other two conventional contents groups. In addition, participants perceived VR-based safety learning is attractive that facilitates their learning motivation and usefulness.

This research aims to examine the role of writing self-efficacy in engineering students' writing metacognitive strategies and writing apprehension. To achieve this purpose, first, the relationships among writing self-efficacy, writing metacognitive strategies and writing apprehension were investigated. Second, the effects of writing self-efficacy, as perceived by engineering students, on writing metacognitive strategies as well as writing apprehension were explored. A total of 173 engineering students from one university in Korea responded to survey based on a three-variables scale. The findings were that, firstly, positive correlations between writing self-efficacy and writing metacognitive strategies were identified in terms of sub-factors of those two variables. Secondly, negative correlations between writing apprehension and writing self-efficacy, and between writing apprehension and writing metacognitive strategies, were identified in terms of sub-factors of those variables. Thirdly, writing self-efficacy predicted engineering students' writing metacognitive strategies' sub-factors and writing apprehension. The practical implications of these findings are discussed herein, with particular attention on education for promotion of writing self-efficacy and reduction of writing apprehension.

This study conducted and evaluated the PBL-based team activity classes in contact and untact learning. Appropriate subject (Engineering communication) was also selected and evaluation methods were improved. In the qualitative evaluation results, in contact learning, similar score ranges were formed for each task, and the variability of scores for each task was not large. In untact learning, the difference in scores for each task was rather large, and the variability of scores for each task was large, indicating a large difference between teams that performed well and teams that did not. In the quantitative evaluation, contact learning showed a little low grades, but untact learning showed relatively high grades, but there were limitations in showing the conclusion that the untact learning effect was very good. As a result of the survey, there were more positive responses to the degree of understanding of the class conducted online, the degree of help to improve competence, and the team activity. However, if untact learning continues, it was analyzed that it is necessary to prepare appropriate measures to enhance learning effects and efficiently conduct team activities.
