There are more interests and studies to change the buildings into eco-friendly spaces as the present age recognizes nature-friendly environment more and more. In response to this trend, the government reinforces regulations for the variety of the eco-friendly buildings using a certification system. The eco-friendly certification system which was started only for residing since 2002, and this has been now for schools that are the spaces of the students who will lead the future since March 2005. The purpose of this study is to help understanding of the eco-friendly buildings, and to popularize and activate those as developing and making up for the classification system, evaluation items, detailed standards to evaluate them more precisely by analysing eco-friendly planning features and data of the eco-friendly certificated schools. This study selected 15 eco-friendly certified schools among the schools certified by the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affaires since 2005, and analyzed evaluation result. After the analysis, I had a thorough grasp of the point distribution of the each building, analyzed the cause of the low points or no points, and tried to find the improvements. There should be continuing adjustment and complement for the evaluation items and detailed standards, and these should be applied to models as well as certified schools. Active public relations are also needed to educate the public and elevate their participation.

Today the realization of a welfare society is urgently needed as growing of economy. To promptly meet the needs of the times, the ratio of a matriculation of the physically disabled is getting higher, stretching opportunities of a higher education. But, the walk environment in university educational facilities is still insufficient because of the indifference to the education of the physically disabled. The purpose of this research is to suggest the direction to improve the walk environment for all users through evaluation of the accessibility of the walk environment in university educational facilities, and the scope of the research is the internal and external walk environment of university educational facilities. The first step of the research is preparatory study review to extract the elements of the accessibility of the Universal Design Principles. And then, we evaluate the accessibility of university educational facilities through the site visits. The results of this research are as following: 1) The internal and external walk environment of university educational facilities needs more physical improvement for keeping accessibility. 2) We need to provide consistent guidances from the external sidewalks to main entrances, slopes, staircases, elevators, and corridors. 3) The walk environment of university educational facilities needs to maintain continuously.

A lightcourt design is typically used to address issues concerning aesthetics, feeling, and mood. From the view point of environmental aspect, as an ecological shaft space, it plays a key role in controlling inner quality. In particularly, the lightcourt concept allows the exploitation of daylighting by bring natural light into the center of the building, thus eliminating dark deep spaces. Additionally, the lightcourt shades the inner space in summer. The amount of light available at the base of the lightcourt depends on a number of factors; translucency of the top, reflectance and the geometry of the space. In this paper is to exemplify a lightcourt configuration with a sloped wall. It promises the maximized a sense of freedom and daylighting availability. It is a matter of course that the lightcourt with open-top plays a role as a light source for the adjacent space to the lightcourt. A series of lighting simulation provides performance data of daylighting with changing photometric factors. For the case that a skylight is not available, an electric lighting design with metal halide lamps has been established to create luminous ceiling. As expected, a sloped lightcourt with open-top exposes its superiority of daylighting source. Ancillary considerations to enhance of daylighting potential for the adjacent space have been issued with performance data.

The purpose of this study is to present direction in outdoors space planning and design after direction through user characteristic analysis through spectacle component establishment of culture art center outdoors space through on-the-site analysis and literature investigation to culture art center of Seoul city and capital region 17 places in this research. The data was collected from classification and bisection kind, subdivision kind, and great classification composed to 17 items. User satisfaction side and Variable that is looked below satisfaction than average appeared to bench, pergola, sculpture facilities, pavement facilities, border facilities. And these facilities were analyzed dissatisfaction. When see satisfaction model, when make up culture art center or similar facilities in local government hereafter because parking facilities and rest area cause big effect in satisfaction, is judged that is item to consider most preferentially. In most case, parking lot security from outdoors space, resting place security, security of field performance facilities etc. taking a serious view because tendency that users see performance or use most vehicles except neighborhood walking area for a rest, a walk etc.. is trend. But, is judged that physical side so that can feel satisfaction as space security of quantitative side is important but users utilize substantially and side that is the program are more important in hereafter.

The lateral pressure that functions on the form of the rammed earth method occupies an important part in the construction of the form. The following research constructed testing forms of $800mm{\times}1200mm$, that have the wall thickness of 200mm, 300mm, 400mm and 500mm to measure the lateral pressures according to the wall thicknesses. Research showed that compared to the concrete construction lateral pressures, the form results measured 2.3-8.9 times higher, and rather than thickness of the form, the distance between the rammer and mold and assuring time had direct relation to the lateral pressure of the form.

To know the effect of smells from eco-friend and existing interior construction materials to human response, EEG of subjects' were measured. EEG signals were measured from 8 electrodes according to the international 10-20 system (Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, Fc3, Fc4, P3, P4) from 10 healthy subjects in seven odor construction material. Followings are results. When stimuli of smell were suggested, non-stimuli pattern of ${\alpha}$-wave is largely in right occipitallobe part and rare in frontallobe part respectively. In case of eco-friend materials' smell, there is a activation of EEG in right occipitallobe part for every stimuli. But in case of eco-friend paint and Hwang-to, ${\alpha}$-wave is appeared in most part of brain even in frontallobe part. Especially for wet cedar case, activation of brain is very positive in right occipitallobe part and in frontallobe part. When comparing the normalized sensitivity of ${\beta}$-wave which appears in negative response, the preference ratio order is like this. Normal paint ${\rightarrow}$ MDF ${\rightarrow}$ Eco-friend paint ${\rightarrow}$ Gypsum board ${\rightarrow}$ Cedar ${\rightarrow}$ Wet cedar ${\rightarrow}$ Hwang-to.

This study was carried out to propose the optimum technologies that can be applicable to noise and fugitive dust controlling in construction sites by comparative analysis in cases. The ninety three environmental management technologies applied to fifty-five construction projects conducted during 2005~2007 in Korea were analyzed by checklist method. The construction companies paid more attention to the noise and fugitive dust controlling technologies than the waste and wastewater. The diverse pollution controlling techniques were applied to the architectural projects than the civil projects to meet the environmental requirements in residential area. The fugitive dust controlling technologies(75.3%) were more widely applied to all construction projects than the noise controlling technologies(24.7%). As the noise controlling techniques, the noise barriers in wall-form which are set up as boundary in construction site were more widely used than the noise barriers in curtain-form, in cabin and silencers. Water spraying systems, wind barriers and mechanical sweepers were the preferred technologies for controlling fugitive dust emission.

In this study, computer simulation program was using to identify the effects of road traffic noise propagation depending on the road types which are very variable in dense city. To achieve this goal, the roads should adjacent to housing complex were categorized into 7 types and propagation noise level should predicted then after simulation of noise exposure population calculation are carried out. Followings the results. First, the road types producing the higher noise level are R1, R2, R3 and R7. The lowest one is R6. And R4, R5 showed that some amount of noise level reduction. Second. the R6 road type which is tunnel shaped showed the highest noise level reduction in vertical distance gap. Last, the order of noise exposure population ratio is R1>R2>R7 and R6 showed the lowest.

The use of natural light can improve the quality of indoor environment and also occupants health. In recent years, with an increasing awareness of sustainable development, various innovative methods of integrating daylight into the building have been developed. One such device is the light pipe system. The light pipes are innovative daylighting system that allow the transmission of daylight into the hard-to-reach indoor space. The system consist of mainly three parts. First, a top collector which is mounted on the outside of the roof and gathers skylight and sunlight. Second, light-reflective tube which is coated with highly reflective mirror finish material to transmit the daylight into the diffuser. Third, a diffuser which is installed on the ceiling in the room and spread the daylight into the room. Light pipes have been widely used and researched in many countries such as Australia, America, Canada and Britain. However, despite the significant daylight potential, little work have been carried out in Korea compare to the other countries. In this study, recent lighting technology and application of light pipe system in both Korea and other countries have been compared. For the results, the benefits of each light pipe system and suitable application in Korea is also discussed.

In this experiment, we used different addition ratio of the pigment and straw, to improve the decorative effect of the finishing touch while finding the kinds of clay colors taking on many sophisticated images, through the comparison between the various colors and textures of the surface. (1) To test the plaster material, added were the pigment of Red, Yellow, Black, and Green by the percentages of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5, respectively, followed by the analysis of the color changes of the plaster material using the Photoshop (RGB). The results showed the bigger the addition ratio of the red color is, the higher the numeral values of RGB after it dried. However the brightness after drying didn't showed a big difference depending on the addition ratio. With the addition of the yellow pigment, the color difference between after and before drying was bigger in the order of Blue, Green and Red; the brightness increasingly rose while the saturation changed little. (2) When we scratched the plaster surface with U and V shape carving knives, the U knife didn't make a clean shape digging around the clay plaster material but with smooth textures, while the V knife made a clean cut, which represents its readily use in terms of the decorative function of the clay plaster. (3) In an experiment the surface texture was tested with different lengths and additions ratio of the straw, addition of 2cm straw by 1, 2, and 3% presented the most appropriate surface of the plaster.

The indoor air quality is one of the most important issues of designing ventilation in high rise apartment buildings. This study suggested proper ventilation rate in the apartment bedroom where mechanical ventilation system has installed. Six university students(four male and two female) were participating in the experiment. Experiments were performed in environmental chamber. Experimental conditions were combinations from three ventilation rate 0, 0.4 and 0.7. Measurement items during 8 hours of experimental time were temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentrations and questionnaire surveyed aftrer sleeping. The concentration of Carbon Dioxide depending on ventilation rate in the chamber was analyzed for proper ventilation rate. The results of this paper can be summarized as follows. (1) When two persons experiment, 0.7 ventilation rate was in excess of 1000ppm. (2) When one person experiment, 0.7 and 0.4 ventilation rates were satisfied the criteria of IAQ. (3) It compared 0.4 with 0.7 in the ventilation rate, 0.4 ventilation rate could reduced about 80% of the power by fan similarity law.

In this thesis presents the application to the field of Hwangto-used concrete highlighted as an eco-friendly material and performs an experiment in the aspect of construction and quality on the construction for all parts of buildings, rather than for some parts of buildings as shown from existing application and got the conclusion as followings. 1) It was turned out that Hwangto concrete showed lower hydrated heat and arid contraction comparing to those of cement concrete. And this phenomenon is judged to appear high when applied to mass building and huge span structures. 2) The construction of Hwangto concrete is judged to be possible in applying to constructions since the mechanical construction seems to be possible by using pump car and ready-mixed concrete which are used at the practical sites at the moment. 3) The pockmarks appearing on the exposure surface were about 2% of total area. This has great cohesion by Hwangto concrete but is judged that it will be improved through enough vibration stamping. Through the experiments of quality and construction of Hwangto concrete as environment-friendly construction materials, it is possible to judge modernized application of Hwangto concrete. It is in need of more studies about economical efficiency, structural stability, design application, etc. afterwards.

This study aims to survey the acoustical environment in the region around airport where there are various transportation noises such as aircraft noise, railway noise and traffic noise, and to analyze the subjective response on the noise to the people who live in house or work in office nearby airport. Measurement and subjective response evaluation were carried out at the same time and outdoor noise level was measured all day long to calculate one day results such as average Leq or one day WECPNL etc. The results showed that the military aircraft produces very high level comparing with commercial aircraft, for instance the sound level of commercial outdoor was lower than that of military aircraft indoor. Double and triple window were more effective for controlling the noise than single window, which showed the possibility of sound insulation treatment by installing windows having higher sound insulation performance. Finally the subjective response was resulted that the most annoying noise is from aircraft and counterplan they hope is 'airport moving out'. Leq 65 dB(A), the criteria value of sound insulation treatment, was corresponding to the subjective response of median annoyance '4' out of 7th scale.

The energy cost is resulted from the energy use. Its sources are divided into some types and depended on the building use or energy-use type. The energy cost should be affected by the amount of the energy use. The cost could be calculated to consider various factors such as the insulation, heating type, building shape and others. But it can not consider all of the affect factors to the energy cost and need to categorize the factors to the condition for estimating the cost. In this paper, it aimed at providing the estimation model in linear equation and multiple linear regression, utilizing the building exterior condition and management characteristics in apartment housing. Its survey are conducted in two parts of management characteristics and building exterior condition. The correlation analysis is conducted to get rid of the multicolinearity among the inputted factors. The number of linear equation model is 11 and includes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd equation function, power function and others. Among these, it suggested the 2nd and 3rd function and power function in terms of the statistics. In multiple linear regression model, the building volume and management area are inputted to the estimation.
