For urban development, natural covering area such as urban green or river is more rapidly reducing than artificial surface covering area like concrete or asphalt, so thermal environment in a city is being drastically deteriorated. Recently, since people recognize the importance of parks or rivers in a city which play roles as an environmental buffer in it, many studies and policies consider how to improve the life quality of citizens and urban environment. This study aims to examine the status of thermal environment variation in the parks and rivers of the city which is the subject of this research and provide foundational data for urban environment plans through research on temperature variation rate and temperature controlling effect.

Sustainability became the keyword of our society worldwide, and it is undoubtful that buildings are mainly responsible for green house gas emission and energy consumption. Responding to current needs, US Green Building Council has launched the first LEED rating system in 1998. Since then, LEED has been evolved and it has multiple sub-system categorized by project types. This study aims to analyze characteristics of sustainable neighborhood development and to suggest methodology for establishing certification system in Korea. First, LEED-ND 2009(LEED for Neighborhood Development) was addressed with certified projects by US Green Building Council. After that, LEED-NC 2009(LEED for New Construction) was compared with green building certification criteria in Korea to find out unforeseen aspects by each system, in terms of sustainable neighborhood development. As a result of this study, sustainable neighborhood development requires a transition of architects' responsibility beyond building design. Building technology has been advanced at extremely fast pace, however, applying techniques to individual architecture would not make our town sustainable. This study provided basic resources to understand that creating sustainable neighborhood is social phenomenon and more studies should be undertaken to establish Green Neighborhood Certification Criteria in Korea.

This study examined apartment residents' energy-lifestyle, and their energy consumption patterns by energy-lifestyle. The major findings are as follow: 1)In order to identify energy lifestyle, three dimensions - value of life, energy consuming behavior and energy awareness - were defined by literature reviews, and each dimension was tested to define components. 2)The scores of the 14 factors that were defined by factor analysis on the three dimensions of the energy lifestyle were subject to cluster analysis, and then lifestyle was categorized into five groups. G1 is very negative, and indifferent to energy waste or saving at home. G2 is passively carrying out energy saving activities at home, only within their comfort. G3 is aware of energy saving, and more actively keeping energy saving behavior in their everyday lives, while they also show energy waste behavior at the same time. G4 is particularly indifferent to energy costs, and presenting energy squandering behaviors. G5 is better aware of energy saving than other groups, and carrying out energy saving behaviors in their everyday lives. This study would be of help to establish energy saving management and education plans in apartments.

People spend most of their time inside buildings recently, so the indoor air quality is one of the most important factors to human health. Furthermore, minimum energy use with proper ventilation systems for pleasant indoor environment is necessary because of energy shortage over the world. The concern to maintain proper indoor air quality at home has been increased, and a proper indoor air quality is continuously requested by the residents. By measuring and analyzing the density fluctuation of $CO_2$ through indoor humidity and testing personal reactions regarding comfort condition, we can obtain a way to effective ventilation. Heat and carbon dioxide emissions from resident's metabolism and construction materials could be the causes of indoor air pollution. If these materials stay indoors for a long time, it could directly influence the resident's health condition with diseases. It also leads massive energy use. Therefore, the way to save energy and to have effective control of indoor ventilation is needed. This study presented the control method of bedroom ventilation by $CO_2$ concentration change and subjective evaluation.

This study aims to analyze the field survey of thermal comfort in office building with national thermal environment standard. Internal and external temperatures were measured at ten minute intervals and compared in accordance with the national standard for thermal environment. Sixty two workers filled in the questionnaire survey forms five times a day for 40 days. Field monitoring of offices in Seoul, Korea were conducted from 20 July to 28 August. Result for the comfort temperature was set a $26.30^{\circ}C$. This indicates that the 26 degree is reliable for the Korean standard. Indoor temperature standard can reduce energy use by air-conditioned buildings and the temperature would be offer comfort to occupants.

Recently, sustainable development is very important to all fields and environmental-friendly systems and this systems are also necessary to factory. The purpose of this study is to analyse environmental-friendly systems affect the working conditions of the factory's employees. In order to analyse the satisfaction levels of employees regarding their working conditions, the survey is conducted at various environmental-friendly factories and traditional factories. This survey shows that employees who work at environmental-friendly factories are more satisfied with their working conditions compared to their counterparts at traditional factories. Therefore, the factories that installed environmental-friendly systems provide better working conditions as to traditional factories.

The effect of soundscape has been analyzed by questionnaire results. Nowadays, EEG is used to identify the human reponses due to exterior stimuli such as soundscape sound sources. So, it is very meaningful to know the EEG response to soundscape sound sources. In the present study, the sound sources of soundscape were heard to subjects in order to find out the relationship between questionnaire results and electroencephalogram results through lab test. And stimulated part of brain for evaluating words were sought in this experiment too. The results of the study are as follows : the sound source of bird+music causes more ${\alpha}$-wave rise than other sound sources and the ${\alpha}$-wave stimulated region of brain is occipitallobe. In case of ${\beta}$-wave, the left part of brain is excited. ${\delta}$-wave is on frontallobe and ${\Theta}$-wave is on right part of brain. The evaluating words for soundscape can be categorized into four groups. These results could be used for basic materials of soundscape effects analysis.

Asbestos have been used around the world because of reliable and cost-effective physicochemical characteristics. After incubation period about 15-40 years asbestos can cause various cancers, including malignant mesothelioma when inhaled into the air. These properties turned out, asbestos have been banned from using in developed countries. Also in Korea also, the use of asbestos was banned across the board by revision of Industry Safety and Health Act in February 2009. Therefore, the problem of asbestos is not when using. It is about dismantling, maintenance, and the final processing of asbestos waste. Asbestos Cement slates which is Widely distributed throughout the country as roofing materials has much scattering potential compare with inside materials. Also Ministry of Environment is planning to introduce legislation 'Asbestos Safety Management Act' through Environment Announcement and The same Act. 24 show as follows. Minister of Environment or governor should do survey on the actual condition targeting rural buildings with slates and partly or fully fund to dissolve, remove asbestos slate which was used in each buildings. Therefore, to solve these problems, database-building and necessity of management strategies have been continually arisen. So this study was performed. Its application value is very high in terms of its political, economic. Asbestos Cement Slates database could build to collect national registered building data and then using GIS, asbestos cement Slates distribution map were constructed in each province's cities and counties of the country. And this map by Application, construction was to visualize by application, construction of year. Through these results, information of Asbestos Cement Slates could visually inform to policy makers, asbestos dismantling and management contractor, and civilian and it would alleviate the gap of knowledge information. This is expected to be utilized by medium and long-term and effective plan for demolition and dismantling of asbestos cement Slates.

Building deterioration would be proceeded by various causes such as physical, social, economic degradation. The deterioration would be inevitably prevented or delayed to get the decent function and performance in various building part and components. The maintenance and management are continued to provide the decent living condition for the household. The maintenance means mainly a repair, including the on-time and longterm plan. The longterm repair would be conducted by the systemic preparation in management activity and a required cost. Therefore, the annual due for the longterm repair plan is important to prepare the repair cost in a required time. In this paper, it aimed at analyzing the longterm repair cost and modelling to forecast the required cost in total area, number of household and time elapse in apartment housing. The estimation model of a repair cost is used with a power function which has a good statistics. Results of this study are shown that the sample has a longterm repair due in a $2,032won/m^2{\cdot}yr$ averagely which is higher than $912won/m^2{\cdot}yr$ in domestic. Second, the longterm repair due is proportionally correlated with the time elapse in both a total area and the number of household. Third, the estimation model for the longterm repair amount is suitable for the power function which is most in any other estimation models. Fourth, the ration of the longterm plan repair due a year to the cumulated longterm amount is about 26%.

In general, there are two types of PVT module depending on the existence of the glass in front of PV module: glazed and unglazed. On the other hand, the water-type PVT modules can be classified into two types, according to absorber type: the sheet-and-tube absorber PVT module and the fully wetted absorber PVT module. The aim of this study is to analyze the electrical and thermal performance of a water-type PVT module with fully wetted absorber. For this study, a prototype of unglazed PVT module with fully wetted absorber was designed and built, and both the thermal and electrical performances of the prototype module were measured in outdoor conditions. A conventional mono-crystalline Si PV module was tested alongside the PVT module for their electrical performance comparison. The results showed that the thermal efficiency of the PVT module was average 51% and its electrical efficiency was average 14.3% in mean fluid temperature $10-40^{\circ}C$, whereas the electrical efficiency of the conventional PV module was average 12.6%. It is found that the electrical efficiency of the PVT module was improved by approximately 14% compared to that of the PV module. The temperature of PVT module becomes lower due to the cooling effect by the fluid of the absorber. The results proved that the electrical efficiency was higher when the mean fluid temperature was lower.
