The flow field of a 1 Ton/Day entrained-flow gasifier constructed in KIER was numerical simulate in this paper. The standard
$k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model and simple procedure was used with the Primitive-Variable methods during computation. In order to find the influence factors of the flow field which may have great effects on coal gasification process inside gasifier, difference geometry parameters at various operating conditions were studied by simulation methods. The calculation results show that the basic shape of the flow field is still parabolic even the oxygen gas is injected from the off-axis position. There exist an obvious external recirculation zone with a length less than 1.0m and a small internal recirculation region nears the inlet part. The flow field inside the new gasifier is nearly similar as that of the old 0.5T/D gasifier at same position if the design of burner remains unchanged. -
This paper describes an operation strategy of ice storage systems for energy saving during building cooling. In this study, chiller is assumed not having function of part load control. Thus, it is needed to adopt on-off control with the objective function of summed energy consumption for minimum energy consumption. A conventional control strategy compared with the chiller-on-off control is chiller-priority control. in this control chiller operates as its full capacity and ice storage meets the rest of the cooling load.

새로운 에너지원으로 개발된 오리멀젼의 국내 활용에 관한 기술적인 특성을 파악하기 위하여 연료 특성과 연소에 대한 실험적인 연구를 수행하였다. 연료저장을 위한 최적온도는 6
$0^{\circ}C$ 이었으며 온도가 낮으면 점화특성이 불량하고 너무 상승하는 경우에는 계면분리 현상이 보였다. 연소를 위해 필요한 연소실온도는$600^{\circ}C$ 이상이 요구되었고 수분의 비등폭발에 의해 2차 연소가 특징적으로 관찰되었다. 오리멀젼 연소시 배기가스중 오염물질 농도는 과잉공기비에 SO$_2$ 가 1700-2200ppm , NOx 100-150ppm 으로 측정되었다. -

This study was carried out to optimize burner and heat exchanger of the condensing gas boiler which can save energy by utilizing latent heat of combustion gas and reduce pollutant in exhaust gas. The heat exchanger of the gas boiler was composed of three parts, which were an upper. lower , and coil heat exchanger . The upper heat exchanger was placed outside of the premixed burner and a lower heat exchanger was located under the upper heat exchanger. And, coil heat exchanger rounded the outer surface of an upper and lower heat exchanger. The boiler designed by this research reaches turn-down ratio 4 : 1 in the domain of equivalence ratio 0.75-0.8 and thermal efficiency of 97% . Emission of NOx and CO concentration was under 20ppm and 140ppm at equivalence ratio 0.8 . When diameter of the burner replace 60mm by 50mm. emission of CO was reduced about 50ppm remarkably.

The catalytic heat exchanger, which integrates two functions of heat generation and heat exchange into one equipment, was designed and its characteristics were investigated by experiments. The surface of the fin tube was deposited with Pd catalyst. The conversion of the mixture in the catalytic heat exchanger was more significantly affected by the inlet velocity of the mixture than by the inlet temperature and equivalence ratio of the mixture. It was found that the catalytic surface area of the fin tubes should be sufficiently increased to make the combustion intensity of the catalytic heat exchanger as high as possible. Results showed that the fin tubes, placed in the triangularly staggered form, should be adjusted so that the mixture flows uniformly over all the catalytic fin surfaces.

A study on the improvement of anti-abrasion nature of curved ducts for high-velocity gas-solid flow which are typically equipped in a coal-burned steam power plant has been investigated numerically and experimentally. To reduced the abrasion of pipe by particle, we have tried to form the vortex flow field in the region where flow changes its direction , modelled with two different shapes. 22.5
$^{\circ}$ and 90$^{\circ}$ elbows. the governing equations for three -dimensional , turbulent flow fields are discretized by FVM and solved bySIMPLE algorithm . From the numerical analysis, the new designed elbows for reducing abrasion have been developed. Numerical results are compared with the experimental abrasion data which are obtained from one of the operating coal burned steam power plants in Korea. Comparison of these results show that the developed elbows have much more durability than the original one. -

설계 및 엔지니어링 단계에서 설계정보 전자문서관리 시스템을 통한 지식 수집과 축적의 방법을 제시한다. EDM을 이용한 클라이언트/서버 형태 및 웹 버변의 데이터베이스 인터페이스를 설계하며 이를 통한 발전소 정보의 접그니, 저장, 버젼별로 관리 및 이관/복구/백업하도록 하는 시스템 구현방법에 대해 기술한다. 또한 3차원 캐드 뷰어와 연동된 자료의 효율적인 관리방법에 대해 설명한다.
