  • With the advent of the age of the 4th Industrial Revolution, countries around the world are reinforcing informatics education to cope with changing society. The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends in German informatics education through the analysis of the German informatics curriculum, and provide implications for the informatics education of Korea. The analysis of German informatics education focused on the contents and changes of the informatics education of Bayern, which can be said to be the center of German education. As a result of this analysis, first, elementary education approaches 'informatics' from the viewpoint of integrated curriculums. Second, secondary education provides education that makes it possible to experience theory and practice by securing sufficient credit hours. Third, they reflected informatics subjects in entrance examinations, and sufficiently ensured links to higher education. This analysis confirmed that systematic informatics education requires many credit hours from elementary education, and links with secondary and higher education must be taken into consideration.

  • The United States (CS2013) and Japan (J07-CS) constitute a standard informatics curriculum that reflects a changing society at the level of higher education. This study analyzed the change of standard curriculum in the United States in order to provide implications for the standard composition of higher education curriculum in Korea. The subjects were composed based on the analysis of current status of university curriculum and content knowledge in Korea. As a result of the research, the Informatics curriculum in the United States has evolved into a curriculum reflecting the changing computing environment. The information curriculum of domestic colleges included only 52% of the knowledge area of CS2013. The purpose of this study is to provide an example of the composition of subjects based on the curriculum composition policy of Japan and to provide a basis for the curriculum composition without the standard informatics education course of the college in korea.

  • In the $21^{st}$ century, countries around the world including Korea attempted many changes in informatics education. Considering its own situation, each country has recognized the necessity of informatics education and is taking actions. This research aims to study informatics which is the foundation of informatics education called in different names including computer science education and programming education. Terms related to information were focused. Mainly, it was analyzed the frequency of these terms from academic papers, higher educational institutions' department names, and academic journals. Results of this analysis suggested that infomatics subject is originated from informatics which can be a Meta science of all fields. This research investigated informatics education not only as academic perspectives but social-needs and provide evidence that informatics subject which is originated from the informatics of a meta science needs to be a mendatory subject in primary and secondary education.

  • In this paper, we propose the way to solve the problems of current college of education at university that they are running a curriculum that is insufficient for immediate application to the school. So, we analyzed the application of capstone design which is proven to be effective in various fields, and constructed a curriculum for the development of educational materials to improve the teacher's qualification in the college of education and applied them to the preliminary informatics teachers. As a result, we confirmed that the development class of educational materials based on capstone design is positive for the change of awareness about informatics teacher's qualification, and also confirmed that the students' satisfaction level about class is higher. Based on the results, we discussed the effects of applying capstone design to the college of education. The conclusions are as follows: First, it helps students to improve the teacher's qualification. Second, it is a curriculum that can fill the shortage of student teaching. Third, the curriculum is an effective curriculum for the recognition of the student who is in charge of evaluation, and the teacher who is in charge of the evaluation. Fourth, Capstone design information textbook study class is a method of greatly improving class satisfaction compared to lecture class.

  • The purpose of this study is proposing implications toward liberal arts Informatics education at universities in Korea by analyzing Japan's liberal arts Informatics curriculum standards. For this aim, the changes of the two standards have been compared focusing on a variety of researches related to J07-GE and J17-GE. In order to examine the scope and degree of Informatics knowledge reflecting J17-GE, which is a revised version, the analysis has been conducted through the relationship between curriculum standards regarding CS. As a result of the analysis, it has been identified that principles and knowledge of informatics can nurture competency of university students as universal liberal arts through J07-GE and J17-GE based on Computational thinking viewpoint and Japanese Informatics studies definition. Thus, when it comes to developing curriculum, discussion of not only knowledge system but also number of classes and methods have to be taken into account. This study is meaningful in the sense that it proposed directions for advancing university liberal arts Informatics education and developing liberal arts Informatics curriculum standards.

  • Informatics gifted education institutions have made multi-faceted efforts to encourage students to do creative activities which can be extended lasting. However, research about gifted student's creative activities is yet incomplete, and most of the research has only focused on their cognitive abilities. Therefore, there is a limit to providing creative activity curricula that reflect the characteristics of informatics gifted students. This study assessed the creative products achievement of 56 informatics gifted elementary school students' and comprehensively analyzed the results with affective and environmental variables. The result is that the achievement of creative products was higher when the intrinsic motivation was found to be higher. Parents' support or extrinsic motivation did not differ significantly.

  • It is required that university students acquire information technology in order to adapt to the information society. Therefore, it is inevitable for universities to provide students with an effective curriculum to improve IT fluency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of the informatics learning programs in universities in Korea in terms of IT fluency which is defined by National Academy of Science NRC99. Based on the information that the Academy Information Center announced, the content analysis was carried out from September 2010 to June 2011. According to the result of the analysis, 84 of 201 universities provide the informatics education as a mandatory course. 29 of them mainly provide the programs about word processors, spreadsheet, and presentation that are regarded as contemporary skills. These programs cover the fundamental concept, but the contents which require intellectual capabilities are rarely addressed. Moreover, the informatics education has mainly focused on elementary and secondary education. In this sense, it is valid to analyze the contents and current states of the informatics learning programs required in higher education.

  • Countries that considered importance of the quality management of higher education are strengthening through various systems and methods. Field of computer science also, they have constantly made efforts, such as constituting standards of curriculum for the management of the quality of higher education. If we know the priorities of the knowledge area mentioned in the standard of curriculum of computer science, we can give implications to the composition of the content system. Therefore, we derive the ranking based on base on CS2013 the lesson time number of Tier 1, Tier 2, Elective, and detail areas for content elements. As a result, the knowledge area with the highest priority was Software Development Fundamentals. The knowledge area is recommended as a beginner course in CS2013 because it is a basic element. The priorities of these areas may provide implications for future elementary and secondary informatics curriculum, higher liberal arts informatics curriculum, Informatics curriculum of teacher training agency.

  • This study examines the impact of modular robot programming education on middle school informatics curriculum learning motivation. For this purpose, the experiment was conducted with a experimental group of 25 people and a control group of 25 people, and modular robot programming education and learning motivation test were used as research tools. As a result of processing the results of the learning motivation test paper with the independent sample t-test and the paired t-test, the experimental group had 9.36 points higher learning motivation than the control group and 15.44 points higher than the pre-test. In particular, it significantly affected the improvement of all the sub-components of the learning motivation, and among them, it greatly affected the enhancement of attention, relevance and satisfaction. In conclusion, it can be seen that modular robot programming education has a positive effect on improving students' motivation to learn the informatics curriculum.
