  • We consider the problem of synthesizing an internally stabilizing linear time-invariant controller for a linear tune-Invariant plant such that a given closed loop transfer function is strictly sector bounded. We show that the standard $H{\infty}$ control problem and the $\tau$ -positive real control problem are special cases of sector bounded control problem. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a controller are obtained. The state-space representation for strictly proper controllers are given in terms of solutions to ARIs or AREs.

  • In this paper, we consider the following Kirchhoff-type Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger system $$\{-\(a_1+b_1{\int}_{\mathbb{R^3}}{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^2dx\){\Delta}u+{\gamma}V(x)u=\frac{2{\alpha}}{{\alpha}+{\beta}}{\mid}u{\mid}^{\alpha-2}u{\mid}v{\mid}^{\beta}\;in\;\mathbb{R}^3,\\-\(a_2+b_2{\int}_{\mathbb{R^3}}{\mid}{\nabla}v{\mid}^2dx\){\Delta}v+{\gamma}W(x)v=\frac{2{\beta}}{{\alpha}+{\beta}}{\mid}u{\mid}^{\alpha}{\mid}v{\mid}^{\beta-2}v\;in\;\mathbb{R}^3,\\u,v{\in}H^1(\mathbb{R}^3),$$ where $a_i$ and $b_i$ are positive constants for i = 1, 2, ${\gamma}$ > 0 is a parameter, V (x) and W(x) are nonnegative continuous potential functions. By applying the Nehari manifold method and the concentration-compactness principle, we obtain the existence and concentration of ground state solutions when the parameter ${\gamma}$ is sufficiently large.

  • Our interest is to study the existence of positive solutions to the following elliptic system involving competing interaction $$ (1) { -\partial(x,u,\upsilon)\Delta u = uf(x,u,v) { - \psi(x,u,\upsilon)\Delta \upsilon = \upsilon g(x,u,\upsilon) { \frac{\partial n}{\partial u} + ku = 0 on \partial\Omega { \frac{\partial n}{\partial\upsilon} + \sigma\upsilon = 0 $$ in a bounded region $\Omega$ in $R^n$ with a smooth boundary, where the diffusion terms $\varphi, \psi$ are strictly positive nondecreasing function, and k, $\sigma$ are positive constants. Also we assume that the growth rates f, g are $C^1$ monotone functions. The variables u, $\upsilon$ may represent the population densities of the interacting species in problems from ecology, microbiology, immunology, etc.

  • We are concerned with the following elliptic equations: $$\{(-{\Delta})^s_pu={\lambda}f(x,u)\;{\text{in {\Omega}}},\\u=0\;{\text{on {\mathbb{R}}^N{\backslash}{\Omega}},$$ where λ are real parameters, (-∆)sp is the fractional p-Laplacian operator, 0 < s < 1 < p < + ∞, sp < N, and f : Ω × ℝ → ℝ satisfies a Carathéodory condition. By applying abstract critical point results, we establish an estimate of the positive interval of the parameters λ for which our problem admits at least one or two nontrivial weak solutions when the nonlinearity f has the subcritical growth condition. In addition, under adequate conditions, we establish an apriori estimate in L(Ω) of any possible weak solution by applying the bootstrap argument.

  • This paper deals with a degenerate parabolic system with coupled nonlinear localized sources subject to weighted nonlocal Dirichlet boundary conditions. We obtain the conditions for global and blow-up solutions. It is interesting to observe that the weight functions for the nonlocal Dirichlet boundary conditions play substantial roles in determining not only whether the solutions are global or blow-up, but also whether the blowing up occurs for any positive initial data or just for large ones. Moreover, we establish the precise blow-up rate.

  • This paper deals with the behavior of positive solutions to the following nonlocal polytropic filtration system $$\{u_t=(\mid(u^{m_1})_x{\mid}^{{p_1}^{-1}}(u^{m_1})_x)_x+u^{l_{11}}{{\int_0}^a}v^{l_{12}}({\xi},t)d{\xi},\;(x,t)\;in\;[0,a]{\times}(0,T),\\{v_t=(\mid(v^{m_2})_x{\mid}^{{p_2}^{-1}}(v^{m_2})_x)_x+v^{l_{22}}{{\int_0}^a}u^{l_{21}}({\xi},t)d{\xi},\;(x,t)\;in\;[0,a]{\times}(0,T)}$$ with nonlinear boundary conditions $u_x{\mid}{_{x=0}}=0$, $u_x{\mid}{_{x=a}}=u^{q_{11}}u^{q_{12}}{\mid}{_{x=a}}$, $v_x{\mid}{_{x=0}}=0$, $v_x|{_{x=a}}=u^{q21}v^{q22}|{_{x=a}}$ and the initial data ($u_0$, $v_0$), where $m_1$, $m_2{\geq}1$, $p_1$, $p_2$ > 1, $l_{11}$, $l_{12}$, $l_{21}$, $l_{22}$, $q_{11}$, $q_{12}$, $q_{21}$, $q_{22}$ > 0. Under appropriate hypotheses, the authors establish local theory of the solutions by a regularization method and prove that the solution either exists globally or blows up in finite time by using a comparison principle.

  • The present paper is concerned with a two-competitor/oneprey population system with Holling type-II functional response and two discrete delays. By linearizing the system at the positive equilibrium and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, the asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium and existence of local Hopf bifurcations are investigated. Particularly, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for functional differential equations (FDEs) explicit formulae determining the direction of bifurcations and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are derived. Finally, to verify our theoretical predictions, some numerical simulations are also included at the end of this paper.

  • In the present paper, we are concerned with the existence of ground state sign-changing solutions for the following Schrödinger-Poisson-Kirchhoff system $$\;\{\begin{array}{lll}-(1+b{\normalsize\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{{\mathbb{R}}^3}}}{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^2dx){\Delta}u+V(x)u+k(x){\phi}u={\lambda}f(x)u+{\mid}u{\mid}^4u,&&\text{in }{\mathbb{R}}^3,\\-{\Delta}{\phi}=k(x)u^2,&&\text{in }{\mathbb{R}}^3,\end{array}$$ where b > 0, V (x), k(x) and f(x) are positive continuous smooth functions; 0 < λ < λ1 and λ1 is the first eigenvalue of the problem -∆u + V(x)u = λf(x)u in H. With the help of the constraint variational method, we obtain that the Schrödinger-Poisson-Kirchhoff type system possesses at least one ground state sign-changing solution for all b > 0 and 0 < λ < λ1. Moreover, we prove that its energy is strictly larger than twice that of the ground state solutions of Nehari type.

  • We consider the nonlinear matrix equation (NMEs) of the form 𝓤 = 𝓠 + Σki=1 𝓐*iℏ(𝓤)𝓐i, where 𝓠 is n × n Hermitian positive definite matrices (HPDS), 𝓐1, 𝓐2, . . . , 𝓐m are n × n matrices, and ~ is a nonlinear self-mappings of the set of all Hermitian matrices which are continuous in the trace norm. We discuss a sufficient condition ensuring the existence of a unique positive definite solution of a given NME and demonstrate this sufficient condition for a NME 𝓤 = 𝓠 + 𝓐*1(𝓤2/900)𝓐1 + 𝓐*2(𝓤2/900)𝓐2 + 𝓐*3(𝓤2/900)𝓐3. In order to do this, we define 𝓕𝓖w-contractive conditions and derive fixed points results based on aforesaid contractive condition for a mapping in extended Branciari b-metric distance followed by two suitable examples. In addition, we introduce weak well-posed property, weak limit shadowing property and generalized Ulam-Hyers stability in the underlying space and related results.
