  • The objective of this study was carried out to examine the academic self-efficacy mediating effect in the relationships of AIS educaton and contextual performance. For this study, data collected from 282 students were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 programs. Results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that AIS education had a positive (+) impact on contextual performance. Second, it was found that academic self efficacy had an effect on contextual performance. Third, it was found that academic self efficacy had a mediating effect on the relationship of AIS education and contextual performance. The Sobel test was performed to identify the mediating effect. AIS education had a direct impact on contextual performance as well as an indirect impact through academic self-efficacy. These results provide that AIS education improves academic self-efficacy and thereby be effective for contextual performance. Follow-on research needs to expand of sample and using diverse variables.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between academic efficacy and vocational identity according to the private and public self-consciousness of college students. For this purpose, 263 college students completed the questionnaires on self-consciousness, academic efficacy and vocational identity. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. As a result, both the private and public self-consciousness had a significant positive correlation with vocational identity and academic efficacy. The private and public self-consciousness had different effects on vocational identity(career exploration, career commitment, and career reconsideration) through academic efficacy. Specifically, the private self-consciousness had a direct effect only on the career reconsideration among the factors of vocational identity. Public self-consciousness was indirectly related career exploration, partially mediated by academic efficacy, whereas the association between public self-consciousness and career commitment was fully mediated by it. Based on these results, implications for career education and counseling in convergence era were discussed and suggestions for further study were included.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence, academic self-efficacy, and self-leadership among nursing students. Subjects were 230 nursing students in South Korea. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires from September 1 to 30, 2015, and analyzed using frequencies, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression using SPSS Win 18.0. Self-leadership was significantly positively correlated with emotional intelligence and academic self-efficacy in nursing students. Students with higher emotional intelligence and academic self-efficacy showed higher self-leadership. Emotional intelligence and academic self-efficacy explained 40.2% of the total variance in self-leadership among nursing students. Therefore, to increase nursing students' self-leadership, it is necessary to develop and test programs to ensure an improvement in emotional intelligence and academic self-efficacy among nursing students.

  • This study is a descriptive study to investigate the effects of communication competence and compassionate competence on academic self-efficacy of nursing students. The subjects of this study were 131 nursing students and the data collection was from November 5 to 30, 2018. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Significant relationships were found among communication competence and compassionate competence and academic self-efficacy. Motivation for admission, adaptation of nursing, participation on practice and compassion competence were found to academic self-efficacy. Therefore, in order to increase the academic self-efficacy it is necessary to make efforts to increase the participation on practice and to improve compassion competence as a strategy to increase academic self-efficacy of nursing students.

  • This study aimed to examine the online lecture quality, self-leadership, and degree of academic self-efficacy of nursing students who experienced online lecture and to identify the factors that influence academic self-efficacy. The subject of this study was 115 nursing students at one university, and the study design is a descriptive survey study that collected data through a structured questionnaire. As a result of this study, self-leadership(β =.431, p=<.001) and online class environment(β =.314, p=.004), a sub-factor of online lecture quality, were significant influencing factors on the academic self-efficacy of nursing college students. These variables explained 37.7% of the total variance in academic self-efficacy. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that it will be used as basic data for cultivating self-leadership and improving the online class environment in order to improve the academic self-efficacy of nursing students taking online classes.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy in the process that nursing students' task value affects class participation. The subjects of this study were 161 second-year students of the Department of Nursing at K University located in G city, and the data collection period was from October 5 to October 14, 2020. The mediating effect of academic self-efficacy in the relationship between task value and class participation was analyzed using Baron and Kenny's 3-step mediating effect verification procedure using simple and multiple regression analysis and the statistical significance of mediating effects was verified by the Sobel test. As a result of this study, task value and academic self-efficacy were major factors influencing class participation, and academic self-efficacy was found to be a significant partial mediating variable in the relationship between task value and class participation. These factors explained 55% of class participation. In order to increase learners' class participation, an integrated approach that can improve task value and academic self-efficacy is needed.

  • This study aims to examine the differences in the longitudinal relationship between academic stress, mathematics self-efficacy, and engagement in mathematics class according to the math achievement level. According to the results, academic stress, math self-efficacy, and math class engagement were stable over time for the high and low groups. Also, In the high group, math self-efficacy had a negative longitudinal mediation effect in the influence of academic stress to math class engagement. Whereas, in the low group math class engagement had a positive longitudinal mediation effect in the influence of academic stress to math self-efficacy. This means that the academic stress affects differently according to the math achievement level, and mathematics teachers should reflect these results in their teaching/learning strategies so that students can increase their mathematics self-efficacy along with their engagement in mathematics classes.

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate how two types of cooperative groupworks will affect learners' academic self-efficacy and English achievement in the first graders of Middle school. Experimental class A was done by similar-level groupwork, experimental class B by differential-level groupwork, and controlled class C by whole classwork. In order to accomplish the goals of the study, questionnaires on learners' academic self-efficacy were examined before and after the experiment. Also English achievement tests were done during the experiment. The analytic results of the questionnaires and English achievement tests were like the following conclusions: First, two types of cooperative groupworks were more effective on improving learners' academic self-efficacy than the whole classwork. Second, two types of cooperative groupworks were more effective on improving two levels' (higher and medium) academic self-efficacy. Third, among three types of classworks, differential-level groupwork was the most effective on improving learners' English achievement. Fourth, in case of medium-level learners, differential-level groupwork was more effective on improving their English achievement than similar-level groupwork.

  • The study examined and compared relationships among self-esteem, self-efficacy, and academic achievement of children in poverty and the comparative groups. The subjects of this study were 97 elementary school students who had benefited from the free meal project and 97 students as the comparative group who did not receive the benefit. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ tests, and multiple regression analysis were employed to analyze the data. The results showed that academic scores of the comparative group were statistically higher than those of children in the poverty group in Korean language, mathematics, science, and sociology. Also, self-esteem of children in the poverty group was lower than that of the comparative group's in terms of leadership and popularity. The poverty group also showed lower self-efficacy in self-regulated efficacy tasks. Finally, multiple regression analysis demonstrated that different sub-factors of self-esteem and self-efficacy predicted the academic achievement of children in poverty group and the comparative groups.
