  • A weak convergence is obtained for a linear process of the form (equation omitted) where {$\varepsilon$$_{t}$ } is a strictly stationary sequence of associated random variables with E$\varepsilon$$_{t}$ = 0 and E$\varepsilon$$^{^2}$$_{t}$ < $\infty$ and {a $_{j}$ } is a sequence of real numbers with (equation omitted). We also apply this idea to the case of linearly positive quadrant dependent sequence.

  • In this paper, we consider interval probability as a unifying concept for uncertainty and Choquet integrals with resect to a capacity functional. By using interval probability, we will define an interval-valued capacity functional and Choquet integral with respect to an interval-valued capacity functional. Furthermore, we investigate Choquet weak convergence of interval-valued capacity functionals of random sets.

  • The asymmetric Laplace distribution arises as a limiting distribution of geometric summations of independent and identically distributed random variables with finite second moments. The main purpose of this paper is to study the weak limit theorems for geometric summations of independent (not necessarily identically distributed) random variables together with convergence rates to asymmetric Laplace distributions. Using Trotter-operator method, the orders of approximations of the distributions of geometric summations by the asymmetric Laplace distributions are established in term of the "large-𝒪" and "small-o" approximation estimates. The obtained results are extensions of some known ones.

  • The aim of this paper is to prove strong convergence theorem by a modified three step iterative process with errors for three nonexpansive mappings in the frame work of uniformly smooth Banach spaces. The main feature of this scheme is that its special cases can handle both strong convergence like Halpern type and weak convergence like Ishikawa type iteration schemes. Our result extend and generalize the result of S. H. Khan, Kim and Xu and many other authors.

  • Let $X^{(n)}_j, j=1,2,\cdots,n, n=1,2,\cdots$ be a triangular array of random variables which arise naturally in a study of ferromagnetism in statistical mechanics. This paper presents weak convergence of random function $W_n(t)$, an appropriately normalized partial sum process based on $S^{(n)}_n = X^{(n)}_i+\cdot+X^{(n)}_n$. The limiting process W(t) is shown to be Gaussian when weak dependence exists. At the critical point where the change form weak to strong dependence takes place, W(t) turns out to be non-Gaussian. Our results are direct extensions of work by Ellis and Newmam (1978). An example is considered and the relation of these results to critical phenomena is briefly explained.

  • The purpose of this paper is to prove strong convergence theorems for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a weak relatively nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an inverse-strongly-monotone mapping by a new hybrid method in a Banach space. We shall give an example which is weak relatively nonexpansive mapping but not relatively nonexpansive mapping in Banach space $l^2$. Our results improve and extend the corresponding results announced by Ying Liu[Ying Liu, Strong convergence theorem for relatively nonexpansive mapping and inverse-strongly-monotone mapping in a Banach space, Appl. Math. Mech. -Engl. Ed. 30(7)(2009), 925-932] and some others.

  • In this paper, we introduce an iterative sequence by using a hybrid generalized $f$-projection algorithm for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a relatively weak nonexpansive mapping an the set of solutions of a generalized variational inequality in a Banach space. Our results extend and improve the recent ones announced by Y. Liu [Strong convergence theorems for variational inequalities and relatively weak nonexpansive mappings, J. Glob. Optim. 46 (2010), 319-329], J. Fan, X. Liu and J. Li [Iterative schemes for approximating solutions of generalized variational inequalities in Banach spaces, Nonlinear Analysis 70 (2009), 3997-4007], and many others.

  • This paper is concerned with the space $\mathcal{K}_{w^*}(X^*,Y)$ of $weak^*$ to weak continuous compact operators from the dual space $X^*$ of a Banach space X to a Banach space Y. We show that if $X^*$ or $Y^*$ has the Radon-Nikod$\acute{y}$m property, $\mathcal{C}$ is a convex subset of $\mathcal{K}_{w^*}(X^*,Y)$ with $0{\in}\mathcal{C}$ and T is a bounded linear operator from $X^*$ into Y, then $T{\in}\bar{\mathcal{C}}^{{\tau}_{\mathcal{c}}}$ if and only if $T{\in}\bar{\{S{\in}\mathcal{C}:{\parallel}S{\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}T{\parallel}\}}^{{\tau}_{\mathcal{c}}}$, where ${\tau}_{\mathcal{c}}$ is the topology of uniform convergence on each compact subset of X, moreover, if $T{\in}\mathcal{K}_{w^*}(X^*, Y)$, here $\mathcal{C}$ need not to contain 0, then $T{\in}\bar{\mathcal{C}}^{{\tau}_{\mathcal{c}}}$ if and only if $T{\in}\bar{\mathcal{C}}$ in the topology of the operator norm. Some properties of $\mathcal{K}_{w^*}(X^*,Y)$ are presented.

  • We present proofs of the stability and convergence of Self-organizing feature map (SOFM) neural network with time-invarient learning rate and binary reinforcement function. One of the major problems in Self-organizing feature map neural network concerns with learning rate-"Kalman Filter" gain in stochsatic control field which is monotone decreasing function and converges to 0 for satisfying minimum variance property. In this paper, we show that the stability and convergence of Self-organizing feature map neural network with time-invariant learning rate. The analysis of the proposed algorithm shows that the stability and convergence is guranteed with exponentially stable and weak convergence properties as well.s as well.
