A Study on the Effects of Children's Forest Experience Activities on Parent-Child Relationship and Child Attitude Change (유아의 숲체험 활동이 부모와 자녀의 상호 관계 및 태도변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is intended to look into the effects of children's forest experience activities on parent-child relationship and child attitude change. To achieve this, a survey was empirically carried out to 185 children. The results were as follows. First, the normality of parent-child relationship before and after forest experience activities showed that the parent-child relationship increased from 3.229 points before participation in forest experience activities to 3.841 points after participation in forest experience activities on average. And the child attitude increased from 3.226 points before participation in forest experience activities to 3.765 points after participation in forest experience activities, which there was a change of mean value before and after forest experience activities in both concepts. Second, the difference in parent-child relationship and child attitude change before and after forest experience activities showed that both parent-child relationship(Z=-10.98, p<.001) and child attitude(Z=-11.05, p<.001) did have significant differences before and after forest experience activities in the significant level of .05. As for the above-mentioned findings, children's forest experience activities improves the parent-child relationship and changes their behaviors outside the kindergarten. Consequently, nature-friendly forest experience education can provide emotional stability for children and help them build a positive rapport between teacher, parent and peer.

An Analysis of Kindergarten Teacher's Understanding and Its Complementary Plan on Activities of Social Relationships & Art Experience Area in the Nuri-Curriculum (누리과정 사회관계 영역과 예술경험 영역의 교육활동에 대한 교원들의 이해도와 그 보완)

  • The goal of this study was to analyze the degree of kindergarten teacher's understanding with respect to educational activities of social relationships area & art experience area in the Nuri-curriculum and to provide complementary materials and educational programs for enhancing kindergarten teacher's professional development. The tool for this study was a number of questionnaires on teacher's understanding in two area. The number of survey participants were 650 teachers and 78 preliminary teachers, 728 in total. Statistical analysis to this research responses was done by SPSS 23 at the significance level of .05, .01, .001 each. Research findings reached a conclusion of proposing differentiated complementary materials and educational programs based on the types of kindergarten, qualification of teachers and their demographics. That is, it should be adjusted to the differences in establishment-operation types of kindergarten, location/size/ages of class, careers/ages/license of teachers, and current-preliminary teacher's understanding. The educational activities of social relationships area should be focused on an attitude of valuing oneself and family by browsing and practicing what one can do for oneself and family. The educational activities of art experience area should be focused on integrated experience of artistic expression and appreciation activities by exploring musical, movement and artistic elements.

The Effects of Mother's Child-Rearing Attitudes on Young Children's Intelligence, Multiple Intelligence, and Emotional Intelligence (어머니의 양육태도가 유아의 지능과 다중지능 및 정서지능에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Mother's Child-Rearing Attitudes on young children intelligence, multiple intelligences and emotional intelligence. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, 215 children and their mothers and teachers of children 15 were investigated. Data analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted to analyze the mother's Child-Rearing Attitudes and the relationship between the young children's intelligence and multiple intelligences and emotional intelligence. The results of this study and the conclusions obtained through the discussion are as follows: First, the relationship between the mother's child-rearing attitudes and intelligence, multiple intelligences, on the other hand, showed a high correlation relationship between the mother's child-rearing attitudes and emotional intelligence and appeared to be correlated with low. Second, the rejective attitude and autonomous attitude variables that best explain the entire intelligence and multiple intelligence of young children, the affectionate attitude and autonomous attitude, the young children's the entire emotional intelligence best explain the factors. These results in the development of intelligence, multiple intelligence, emotional intelligence, affectionate attitude depending on the situation, autonomous attitude shows rejective attitude avoiding uniform, certain attitudes, rather than to show the mother's Child-Rearing Attitudes desirable that suggests.

Relationships among the Attitude toward Music Education, Music Teaching Practice, and Music Teaching Efficacy of Early Childhood Teachers. (유아 교사의 음악교수 효능감, 음악교육에 대한 태도, 음악교수의 실제에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among early childhood teachers' attitudes toward music education, music teaching practice, and music teaching efficacy. A total of 255 early childhood teachers participated in the study and data were analyzed through frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and Pearson's correlation. The results of this study indicated that early childhood teachers' music teaching efficacy, attitudes toward music education and music teaching practice were influenced mainly by the teacher's own educational level. They also showed that early childhood teachers' music teaching efficacy, attitudes toward music education, and music teaching practice were correlated with one another. In conclusion, the early child teachers' sense of music teaching efficacy turned out to be a very important factor in early childhood teachers' music education.

Exploration on the Meaning of Child-Teacher Dialogue Journal Writing (유아-교사 간 대화식 저널 작성 활동의 의미 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the opportunities of close emotional support and communication provided by child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful to the three subjects of early childhood education, children, teacher, and parents, and provide implications about how to utilize child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities in the field of education properly. According to the findings, first, to children, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as asecret time between them and their teacher, time that their teacher pays keen attention to them, and time to enhance confidence. Second, to teachers, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as aspecial time to be with children, time to understand children, and time to reflect on their educational process and figure out proper teaching or supporting methods. Third, to parents, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful in a way in which they can understand moreabout their children and is a meaningful time to plan and provide proper care upon their children's wishes or needs.

The Effect of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers' Basic Psychological Needs and Characteristics on Flourish (예비유아교사의 기본심리욕구와 인성이 행복플로리시에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data in order to increase the flourish of early childhood pre-service teachers by examining pre-service teacher's basic psychological needs and characteristics on flourish. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 200 pre-service teachers majoring in early childhood education in Busan and the results were analyzed. Results: First, the level of basic psychological needs, characteristics and flourish of pre-service teachers was above average and there was a significant positive correlation between basic psychological needs, characteristics and flourish. Second, the characteristics of pre-service teachers were relatively more influential on flourish than basic psychological needs. Conclusion/Implications: The main variables predicting early childhood pre-service teacher's flourish are characteristics and basic psychological needs. And as characteristics and basic psychological needs of pre-service teachers are promoted, the flourish of pre-service teachers is increased.

Teacher and Student Belief Systems about The Kindergarten Curriculum: A Q-approach (유아교육과정에 대한 교사와 학생의 신념체계분석 - Q방법론적 접근 -)

  • This study identified and explained the prototypes of belief systems about the kindergarten curriculum with the use of Stephenson's Q-methodology. The sample consisted of 15 preschool teachers and 15 college students majoring in early childhood education. A Q-deck composed of 48 cards was developed by the researchers and sorted by the subjects. The obtained Q-sort scores were analyzed by factor analysis. The findings revealed that the subjects were divided into 3 types: "the practical-disciplinary type" consisting of mostly of teachers, "the theoretical-openness type" consisting mostly of students, and "the compromising type" consisting of some teachers and some students.

A Study on the Creativity of Young Children as a Function of the Questioning Patterns of Teachers (교사의 질문유형에 따른 유아의 창의성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate sex differences in creativity among young children and differences in creativity as a function of the questioning patterns of teachers. The subjects were 4 teachers and 133 five-year-old children (63 boys and 70 girls). The questioning of teachers were categorized into divergent vs. convergent patterns by 3 trained observers. The TTCT (Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking) was administered to the subjects. Creativity scores on fluency, elaboration, originality, and abstractness of titles differed by questioning patterns. Girls' elaboration scores were higher than boys' as a function of teachers' divergent questioning patterns. Boys' abstractness of titles was higher than girls' as a function of teacher's convergent questioning patterns.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the intervention of a literacy environment influences young children's literacy behavior in dramatic play. Four classrooms at S kindergarten and Y kindergarten in Seoul were randomly selected for this study. Each of the classrooms was designated as an experimental group: that is, experimental group A (38 children), experimental group B (34 children), experimental group C (35 children) and a Control group (40 children), respectively. Group C was provided with literacy materials, theme of dramatic play and teacher's intervention. Group B was provided with literacy materials and theme of dramatic play. Group A was provided with only literacy materials. It was found that the intervention of the literacy environment in dramatic play brought about an increase in children's total literacy behavior, increase in the frequency of children's reading behavior, and increase in the frequency and function of children's writing.

  • The purpose of this study focused on community role about Integrated child edu-care services. First, this study was carried out to determine the needs of teachers, parents about Community members. Second, this study was to examine community members' perception and support intention about Integrated child care services. The subjects were 124 teachers in child care center, 88 preschoolers with disabilities' parents, 172 community members. The major findings were as follows: (1) The result revealed parents and teachers's needs for community members support. (2) Community members' perception about Integrated child care services revealed greatly positive on every fields, (3) community members' support intention for the integrated chid care revealed very positive.
