A Study on the Partition Operating Circuit Design based on Directed Graph (방향성 그래프에 기초한 분할연산 회로설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper present a method of efficiency circuit design based on directed graph which was represented by tree structure relationship between input and output of nodes. In this paper, we introduce the concept of mathematical analysis based on tree structure which was designed by optimal localized computable circuit. Using the proposed circuit design algorithms in this paper, it is possible to design circuit which directed tree graph have any node number. The proposed method is more effective, regularity and extensibility than former method.

Sampling Set Selection Algorithm for Weighted Graph Signals (가중치를 갖는 그래프신호를 위한 샘플링 집합 선택 알고리즘)

  • A greedy algorithm is proposed to select a subset of nodes of a graph for bandlimited graph signals in which each signal value is generated with its weight. Since graph signals are weighted, we seek to minimize the weighted reconstruction error which is formulated by using the QR factorization and derive an analytic result to find iteratively the node minimizing the weighted reconstruction error, leading to a simplified iterative selection process. Experiments show that the proposed method achieves a significant performance gain for graph signals with weights on various graphs as compared with the previous novel selection techniques.

A Case Study on Application of Linear Function using Excel (엑셀을 통한 일차함수의 활용에 대한 사례연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to search the effective teaching-learning program by considering how affect on formation of linear function using Excel. This study was based on qualitative case study. The teaching experiment using Excel executed with five 8th graders' students for second research content. Teaching experiment was performed for two classes. Collecting the data was conducted via observations and interviews with students. The data include audio and video recording of the students' work, students' worksheets and detailed field notes. The conclusions drawn from teaching experiment are as follows: First, when students explored relevancy content of function in Excel environment, formation of concept of function was facilitated by experiencing operation of algebraic formulas, tables and graphs. We could infer that formation of concept was effected by conjecture activity and iterative process of feedback through Excel environment. Second, the students explored the changes very interestingly making algebraic formulas and presenting tables and graphs. The students were familiarized with observation on algebraic formulas, graphs and tables concurrently. Also, they tried to look for general rules through inductive observation. According to this study, we noticed that exploration teaming environment using Excel could supplement paper-and-pencil environment.

  • It is very important to help students learn by examining how well students solve math problems. Therefore, in this study, four methods(error analysis by problem type, schematization analysis, area graph analysis, and broken line graph analysis) were constructed to analyze how the connectivity between concepts of middle school functions affects the problem solving results. The students' learning situation was visually expressed to enable intuitive understanding. This analysis method makes it easy to understand the evaluation results of students. It can help students learn by understanding their learning situation. It will be useful in mathematics teaching and learning as it can help students to monitor their own problems and make a self-directed learning plan.

  • This study analyzes modes related to use of graph representation that appears to solve high school students quadratic function problem based on the graph using modes of Chauvat. It was examined the extent of understanding of the quadratic function of students through the flexibility of the representation of the Bannister (2014) from the analysis. As a result, the graph representation mode in which a high school students are mainly used is a nomographic specific mode, when using operational mode, it was found to be an error. The flexibility of Bannister(2014) that were classified to the use of representation from the point of view of the object and the process in the understanding of the function was constrained operation does not occur between the two representations in understanding the function in the process of perspective. Based on these results, the teaching on use graph representation for the students in classroom is required and the study of teaching and learning methods can understand the function from various perspectives is needed.

Using Tabu Search for L(2,1)-coloring Problem of Graphs with Diameter 2 (Tabu Search를 이용한 지름이 2인 그래프에 대한 L(2,1)-coloring 문제 해결)

  • For simple undirected graph G=(V,E), L(2,1)-coloring of G is a nonnegative real-valued function f : V → [0,1,…,k] such that whenever vertices x and y are adjacent in G then |f(x)-f(y)|≥ 2 and whenever the distance between x and y is 2, |f(x)-f(y)|≥ 1. For a given L(2,1)-coloring c of graph G, the c-span is λ(c) = max{|c(v)-c(v)||u,v∈V}. L(2,1)-coloring number λ(G) = min{λ(c)} where the minimum is taken over all L(2,1)-coloring c of graph G. In this paper, based on Harary's Theorem, we use Tabu Search to figure out the existence of Hamiltonian Path in a complementary graph and confirmed that if λ(G) is equal to n(=|V|).

  • Taxicab geometry was a typical non-Euclid geometry for mathematically gifted. Most educational material related quadratic curves on taxicab geometry for mathematically gifted served them to inquire the graph of the curves defined by focis and constant. In this study, we provide a shape of quadratic curves on taxicab geometry by applying three definitions(geometric algebraic definition, eccentricity definition, conic section definition).

  • In this article, we introduce a generous but eccentric genius in mathematics, Paul Erdos. He invented probabilistic methods, pioneered in their applications to discrete mathematics, and estabilshed new theories, which are regarded as the greatest among his contributions to mathematical world. Here we introduce the probabilistic methods and random graph theory developed by Erdos and look at his life in glance with great respect for him.

  • This study is trying to analyze characteristics of mathematical thinking processes of the mathematical gifted students in an objective and a systematic way, by using "Protocol Analysis Method"and "Problem Behavior Graph" which is suggested by Newell and Simon as a qualitative analysis. In this study, four middle school students with high achievement in math were selected as subjects-two students for mathematical gifted group and the other two for control group also with high scores in math. The thinking characteristics of the four subjects, shown in the course of solving problems, were elicited, analyzed and compared, through the use of the creative test questionnaires which were supposed to clearly reveal the characteristics of mathematical gifted students' thinking processes. The results showed that there were several differences between the two groups-the mathematical gifted student group and their control group in their mathematical talents. From these case studies, we could say that it is significant to find out the characteristics of mathematical thinking processes of the mathematical gifted students in a more scientific way, in the sense that this result can be very useful to provide them with the chances to get more proper education by making clear the nature of thinking processes of the mathematical gifted students.

  • 로봇 키트 등의 도구와 제어하기 쉬운 코딩 기법 등은 학생들에게 창의적인 융합 프로젝트를 할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는데 기여하고 있다. 이 논문은 진자의 왕복 운동을 물리적으로 다루면서 수학 도형을 생성하는 하모노그래프 장치를 만들고 아두이노 키트를 사용하여 향상시키는 중학생들의 사사과정 프로젝트를 소개한다. 그리고 과학(S), 테크놀로지(T), 공학(E), 수학적 접근(M)과의 관련성을 다루고 키네틱 예술 작품으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 탐구한다.
