Analysis on Online Research Guides of University Libraries (대학도서관의 온라인 연구지원 가이드에 관한 연구)

  • Research has taken priority of many activities in universities and it has eventually brought the heat on research support services of libraries to meet high expectation of university researchers. To identify the major content areas and service methods of research guides serviced through digital libraries of universities, this study investigated research guides of 60 university libraries in North America and Korea. As a result, 13 categories for research guide contents were identified and 5 crucial areas for the contents development were suggested. It also analyzed providing methods of online research guides and communicating methods between librarians and users. Librarians were identified as the prime human resource to develope and manage research guides, which will play an important role in expanding diversity of librarians' roles in the future.

  • Success or failure depends on the customer relationships from information services. Recently, as strengthening the customer relationships, marketing with the customer relationships through the web-site is being important factor. In the web-site, applying the service brand or the sense of community in online is the core. In the order to apply the sense of community in online to KISTI's Scent web-site, it is operated KISTI's Scent supporters and proposed the management of customer group plans.

  • Word-of-mouths (WOMs) are now an important information source for purchase decision. Due to the advance in internet technology, people now can share online their consumption experience, both positive and negative, to others. The WOMs may diffuse to not only their friends but also enormous online users. When consumers dissatisfy the product or service, they may share the dissatisfactory experience to others as WOM, which may bring out discussions for the product or service. The discussions on the negative WOM may help to communicate the negative information to enormous others, which may damage the sale of the product or service. The diffusion and life cycle of negative WOM is an important issue for managers. However, few studies focus on it. Thus, the current study focuses on the discussion pattern and life cycle of negative WOMs by observing the 782 discussion articles in a large online community.

Online Advertising Contents of Eastern Cultural Values and Western Cultural Values: Comparison between Age and Gender (동양 문화가치관과 서양 문화가치관 표현: 온라인 광고에 대한 연령별, 성별 차이에 대한 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of age and gender on Eastern and Western cultural values imbedded in online advertising. This study conducted a survey of 180 men and women ages between 10s and 60s who lived in Seoul, Korea. They responded the acceptance degree of six online advertising emphasized three Korean traditional values and three Modern values. Research hypotheses of this study were the acceptance of cultural values in online advertising is different between ages, but similar between gender. The hypotheses were supported as the previous studies. Findings suggest several theoretical and practical implications that convergence between modern and traditional values is a more important variable to study in the research of online advertising.

A study on primary school teachers' needs of Online After-School management (온라인 방과후학교 프로그램 도입에 대한 수도권과 비수도권 간 인식차이 분석: 초등학교 교사들의 인식을 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the different needs between the after-school programs of elementary schools in metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas to understand the areas that need addressing to meet with the requisites of the programs. To this end, this study conducted a survey among teachers with experience in after-school management (n=233), and the needs and performance recognized by teachers were analyzed in the IPA model matrix. To sum up the results, 'Online educational infrastructure', 'Efficient administrative operation', and 'Supply of professional after-school instructors' were identified as the prior needs in metropolitan area. On the other hand, non-metropolitan area, 'Supply of professional after-school instructors', 'Quality educational contents', and 'Online educational infrastructure' were identified as the prior requisites to be addressed. Based on research findings, the study suggested implications in developing and implementing related policies. Research findings will be expected to refer as baseline data for activating after-school online program operations and improving its programs to meet with the different needs of regions.

A Study on the Improvement Direction for Online Finding Aids: Based on the Assessment of National Archives (온라인 검색도구의 개선 방안에 관한 연구 - 국립기록관 검색도구에 대한 평가를 중심으로 -)

  • Many archives, including the National Archives of Korea, use online finding aids. However, in many aspects, they need improvement. In this study, with focus on the National Archives of Korea, the online finding aids of the National Archives of Australia (NAA), The National Archives (TNA) of United Kingdom, and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) of the United States were analyzed. Focus group interview was administered to users of the archives, identifying the pros and cons of online finding aids of NAA, TNA, and NARA. Based on the results, various improvement and development directions are suggested, including aspects on overall functions and hierarchical search, search options and subject search, representing search results, and archival contents services.

Effects of Online Project-Based Learning Application: A Case of Engineering Accounting Course (온라인 프로젝트기반 학습모형 적용과 효과: 공학회계 사례)

  • In many existing studies, the analyses on the application and effect of the project-based learning model (PBL), a student-centered teaching and learning strategy, have been emphasized and carried out in various majors and courses. This case study analyzes the effects of applying a project-based learning model to the engineering accounting course for engineering students in 2021 in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, compared with the offline course in 2019 and the simple online course in 2020. Project team consisting of 2-3 students carried out online collaborative learning activities for solving open-ended problems through the 5-step PBL procedure including presenting the final result. Except for this online PBL application in 2021, textbooks, lecture contents, assignments, and tests were implemented the same for each semester for three years. Through lecture evaluation and survey by students, the online PBL application semester showed higher effects in inducing student-centered learning, lecture satisfaction, and student competency improvement compared to the non-applying semesters, further, it was evaluated that the online PBL application to the course and evaluation method were more appropriate than other semesters. It is expected that the online PBL method and operation procedure applied in this study can be utilized as a best practice for the design and operation of various online courses for student-centered collaborative learning activities and educational effects.

Effect of COVID-19 Stress on Online Shopping Addiction: Mediating Effects of Depression on Moderated by Gender (코로나19 스트레스가 온라인 쇼핑중독에 미치는 영향: 성별에 의해 조절된 우울의 매개효과)

  • This study aimed to identify the correlation between COVID-19 stress, depression, and online shopping addiction in adults, and to confirm the mediating effects of depression on moderated by gender. An online survey was conducted by requesting a survey organization that has panels across the country. The collected 336 data were analyzed using Process Macro for SPSS. As a result of the study, online shopping addiction increased as COVID-19 stress increased. And the mediating effect of depression was found to be significant in the effect of COVID-19 stress on online shopping addiction. Furthermore, in the effect of COVID-19 stress on online shopping addiction, the mediating effect of depression moderated by gender was found to be significant. As the COVID-19 infectious disease prolongs, it is necessary to consider gender in interventions for behavioral addiction prevention, such as online shopping, and mental health management.

  • The Management of Game Money in online game is considered as a crucial factor for successful game business as well as balancing game economy. The generation and flow of game money have a strong relationship with game contents, entertainment factors, game planning and level design. This paper explores online game economy in various ways especially the matter about managing & controlling game money in this context through theoretical and practical perspectives. It also examines how this management makes an effect on 'Free to Pay' policy and Sales revenue. Finally, this paper draws conclusions about the Management of Game Money which can be considered to be practically useful for game development and management. I hope that the study helps further studies and researches and can be served as a foundation regarding the issue.

A Study on the Management of the WCMS-based Web-Contents (WCMS 기반의 웹 콘텐츠 관리에 관한 연구)

  • Due to the development of the online and mobile, cases of introducing CMS(Contents Management System) and WCMS(Web Contents Management System) to manage Web-Contents of individual and company's homepage are continuously increasing. In this paper, it is necessary to develop WCMS that can establish GUI(Graphic User Interface) based WCMS and edit contents using more concise procedures. In this paper, by reconfiguring WCMS-based Web contents using user-definition, we designed the system that can effectively and conveniently edit web contents as GUI-based. Also, we studied the intuitive and convenient web-contents management methods through researches using simplified logic. Therefore, proposed WCMS based Web-contents editing system allows the users to edit and modify the web contents much more quickly and conveniently compared to the existing web-contents editing system.
