In this paper, using analytic method and the properties of the Legendre's symbol, we prove an exact calculating formula on the $2m$-th power mean value of the generalized quadratic Gauss sums for $m{\geq}2$. This solves a conjecture of He and Zhang [On the 2k-th power mean value of the generalized quadratic Gauss sums, Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 48 (2011), no. 1, 9-15].

In this paper, we study the geometry of indefinite generalized Sasakian space form $\bar{M}(f_1,f_2,f_3)$ admitting a generic lightlike submanifold M subject such that the structure vector field of $\bar{M}(f_1,f_2,f_3)$ is tangent to M. The purpose of this paper is to prove a classification theorem of such an indefinite generalized Sasakian space form.

The aim of this paper is to give an existence theorem for a strong solution of generalized vector quasi-equilibrium problems of the weak type II due to Hou et al. using the equilibrium existence theorem for 1-person game, and as an application, we shall give a generalized quasivariational inequality.

In general, a class-preserving automorphism of generalized free products of nilpotent groups, amalgamating a cyclic normal subgroup of order 8, need not be an inner automorphism. We prove that every class-preserving automorphism of generalized free products of nitely generated nilpotent groups, amalgamating a cyclic normal subgroup of order less than 8, is inner.

Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a complex separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space. In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition is given for an operator T on $\mathcal{H}$ to satisfy that $f(T)$ obeys generalized Weyl's theorem for each function $f$ analytic on some neighborhood of ${\sigma}(T)$. Also we investigate the stability of generalized Weyl's theorem under (small) compact perturbations.

In this paper, we develop the idea of a generalized upper set in a BE-algebra. Furthermore, these sets are considered in the context of transitive and self distributive BE-algebras and their ideals, providing characterizations of one type, the generalized upper sets, in terms of the other type, ideals.

The aim of this paper is to obtain a solution of a certain multidimensional convolution integral equation of Fredholm type whose kernel involves a generalized polynomial set. A number of results follow as special cases from the main theorem by specifying the parameters of the generalized polynomial set.

The purpose of this paper is to show that every generalized Jordan derivation of prime ring with characteristic not two is a generalized derivation on a nonzero Lie ideal U of R such that $u^2{\in}U\;for\;{\forall}u{\in}U$ which is a generalization of the well-known result of I. N. Herstein.

We revisit the study of finding solutions of equations containing a differentiable and a continuous term on a Banach space setting [1]-[5], [9]-[11]. Using more precise majorizing sequences than before [9]-[11], we provide a semilocal convergence analysis for the generalized Newton's method as well the generalized modified Newton's method. It turns out that under the same or even weaker hypotheses: finer error estimates on the distances involved, and an at least as precise information on the location of the solution can be obtained. The above benefits are obtained under the same computational cost.
