  • Steward Observatory has a rich and diverse program of investigations, with significant groups working on star and planet formation and astrobiology, galaxy and quasar formation and evolution, technology for adaptive optics and interferometry, computational astrophysics, and effectiveness of educational practice. To support this work, Steward operates and offers a range of observational and other facilities, including the Large Binocular Telescope, the MMT, the Magellan Telescopes, the Arizona Radio Observatory, and a suite of 1- and 2-m class telescopes. A special opportunity for IR astronomy exists with Arizona now running UKIRT. Steward Observatory astronomers would welcome the opportunity to form genuine scientific collaborations that are mutually beneficial for high-impact projects and improving the observing facilities.

  • We discuss various types of sublattice of the lattice of intuitionistic fuzzy subgroups of a given group. We prove that a special class of intuitionitic fuzzy normal subgroups constitutes a modular sublattice of the lattice of intuitionistic fuzzy subgroups.

  • In this paper, we study both slant 3nd semi-slant sub-manifolds of an almost product Riemannian manifold. We give characterization theorems for slant and semi-slant submanifolds and investigate special class of slant submanifolds which are product version of Kaehlerian slant submanifold. We also obtain integrability conditions for the distributions which are involved in the definition of a semi-slant submanifold. Finally, we prove a theorem on the geometry of leaves of distributions under a condition.

  • In this paper, Matlis injective modules are introduced and studied. It is shown that every R-module has a (special) Matlis injective preenvelope over any ring R and every right R-module has a Matlis injective envelope when R is a right Noetherian ring. Moreover, it is shown that every right R-module has an ${\mathcal{F}}^{{\perp}1}$-envelope when R is a right Noetherian ring and $\mathcal{F}$ is a class of injective right R-modules.

  • A generalized network problem is a special class of linear programming problem whose coefficient matrix contains at most two nonzero elements per column. A generalized network problem with 0-1 flow restrictions is called an integer generalized network(IGN) problem. In this paper, we presented a branch and bound algorithm for the IGN that uses network relaxation. To improve the procedure, we develop various strategies, each of which employs different node selection criterion and/or branching variable selection criterion. We test these solution strategies and compare their efficiencies with LINDO on 70 randomly generated problems.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of batch processing of orders, where either a single order or a pair of orders which satisfies specific conditions may be grouped in the same batch. The objective of the problem is to minimize the number of batches formed to accommodate all orders. We prose an approach based on a Known algorithm proven to be optimal for special class of problems with tree structure and show the approach to have the worst case ratio of $2-{\frac{2}{n}}$

  • We find all distinct representatives of isomorphism classes of genus-3 pointed trigonal curves and compute the number of isomorphism classes of a special class of genus-3 pointed trigonal curves including that of Picard curves over a finite field F of characteristic 2.

  • In this paper the boundedness for a large class of multi-sublinear operators is established on product generalized Morrey spaces with non-doubling measures. As special cases, the corresponding results for multilinear Calder$\acute{o}$n-Zygmund operators, multilinear fractional integrals and multi-sublinear maximal operators will be obtained.

  • We study some special cases of Chow groups of a ramified complete regular local ring R of dimension n. We prove that (a) for codimension 3 Gorenstein ideal I, [I] = 0 in $A_{n-3}(R)$ and (b) for a particular class of almost complete intersection prime ideals P of height i, [P] = 0 in $A_{n-i}(R)$.
