유치원 교사의 공감능력과 교사-학부모 관계 및 교사소진 간의 관계: 가정연계효능감의 조절효과 (Kindergarten Teachers' Empathy, Parent-teacher Relationships, and Teacher Burnout: The Moderating Role of Teacher Efficacy in Enlisting Parental Involvement)

  • 본 연구는 유치원 교사의 공감능력과 가정연계효능감이 교사-학부모 관계 인식과 교사소진에 미치는 효과가 어떠한지, 그리고 공감능력과 유치원 교사가 인식하는 교사-학부모 관계 및 교사소진의 관계에서 가정연계효능감의 조절효과가 유의한지를 확인하고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 충북지역에 근무하는 공·사립 유치원 교사 208명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, JAMOVI 1.6.23을 활용하여 응답자료를 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 교사의 공감능력과 가정연계효능감 모두 교사-학부모 관계 인식에 유의한 정적효과를 보였다. 둘째, 유치원 교사의 공감능력과 교사-학부모 관계 인식에서 가정연계효능감의 유의한 조절효과가 나타났다. 구체적으로 유치원 교사의 가정연계효능감이 높을 때(M+1SD) 공감능력이 높을수록 교사-학부모 관계 인식이 유의하게 높아졌으며, 가정연계효능감이 평균 수준이거나 낮을 때(M-1SD)는 공감능력이 교사-학부모 관계 인식에 미치는 효과가 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 유치원 교사의 공감능력과 가정연계효능감 모두 교사소진에 유의한 부적효과를 나타냈으며, 공감능력과 교사소진의 관계에서 가정연계효능감의 조절효과는 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구는 유치원 교사가 인식한 교사-학부모 관계와 교사소진에 있어 공감능력과 가정연계효능감의 역할을 확인하고, 특히 공감능력이 교사-학부모 관계 인식에 미치는 효과가 가정연계효능감 수준에 따라 조절됨을 확인함으로써 가정연계효능감의 중요성을 인식하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

  • The effects of parental attachment and empathy on social competence were examined with a sample of 403 fifth and sixth graders (192 males, 211 females) attending elementary schools in Gyoung-gi province. All research variables were measured using self-reported questionnaires conducted by the children concerned. Data were analyzed by means of structural equation modeling. The results indicated that parental attachment had no direct effect, but there was an indirect effect on children's social competence mediated by children's empathy. Maternal attachment influenced children's social competence relatively more than paternal attachment. As compared to parental attachment, however, children's empathy was the more influential variable when it came to social competence. These results were consistent in both genders. The results of this study emphasize that children's own characteristics such as empathy tend to be important factors in developing social competence compared to the parental role in middle childhood. Accordingly, interventions aimed at improving children's empathy need to be emphasized in order to develop children's social competence regardless of gender.

어머니의 부모역할지능과 유아의 자기조절능력 및 공감능력과의 관계 (The Relationships between Mothers' Parental Intelligence and Children's Abilities of Self-control and Empathy)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between mothers' parental intelligence and children's abilities of self-control and empathy. 180 children aged 5 were selected from 4 kindergartens in G city. The gender breakdown for the sample group was as follows : boys comprised 60.0% (108) and girls comprised 40.0% (72) of the total sample. The Parental Intelligence Scales (PIS) was used to rate mothers' parental intelligence. Children's self-control and empathy were also measured. The SPSS 12.0 program was used for the purposes of analyzing the data. The results of the study were as follows. Firstly, mothers' parental intelligence was related in a general sense with children's self-control. However, such a relationship did not appear between rejection in the area of parental intelligence and self appraisal in self-control, nor did it appear between acceptance in intelligence and emotion in self-control. Secondly, the variable of encouragement was the only one in evidence in terms of mothers' parental intelligence and how it was related with children's empathy.

자아존중감과 청소년 우울성향의 관계에서 부모공감의 조절효과 (Relationship Between Self-Esteem and Adolescent Depression: Moderating Effects of Parental Empathy)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자아존중감이 청소년의 우울 성향에 미치는 영향에서 부모공감의 조절효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 A소재 중 고등학생 437명을 대상으로 자기보고식 자아존중감척도, 우울척도 및 부모공감척도를 실시하였고, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 청소년 자아존중감과 우울 성향간의 관계는 부모공감에 의해 조절되는 것으로 나타났다. 부모공감의 하위요인들의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 아버지의 경우 청소년 자아존중감과 우울 성향의 관계에서 정서지각, 공감적 정서반응, 냉담한 정서반응이 조절효과를 보였고, 어머니의 경우 냉담한 정서반응, 과민한 정서반응이 청소년의 자아존중감과 우울 성향간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 의의는 자아존중감이 낮고, 우울감을 경험하는 청소년에 대한 부모공감의 중요성을 밝혔다는 것이다.

남녀 청소년의 친사회적 행동 관련 변인 연구 (Correlates of Prosocial Behaviors in Male and Female Adolescents)

  • The variables studied in relation to adolescents' prosocial behaviors were grade, prosocial moral reasoning, empathy, self-esteem, parental prosocial behaviors, support and marital conflict, social economic status, peer prosocial behaviors and support, teacher support, school life satisfaction and achievement. The sample consisted of 837 seventh and tenth grade adolescents. Statistics and methods used for the data analysis were Cronbach's alpha, frequency, percentage, t-test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Several major results were found from the analysis. First, female students had more prosocial behaviors than male students. Second, male and female students' prosocial behaviors showed positive correlations with grade, prosocial moral reasoning, empathy, self-esteem, parental and peer prosocial behaviors and support, teacher support and school life satisfaction. However, female students' prosocial behaviors had a negative correlation with parental marital conflict. Third, important variables predicting male and female students' prosocial behaviors were empathy, peer prosocial behaviors and parental prosocial behaviors. Important variables predicting male students' prosocial behaviors were teacher support and prosocial moral reasoning. On the other hand, the important variable predicting female students' prosocial behaviors was self-esteem.

남자 청소년의 우울과 섭식문제의 관계에서 지각된 부모 공감의 조절효과 (Moderating effects of perceived parental empathy in the relationship between depression and eating problems in male adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 남자 청소년의 섭식문제와 우울, 부모 공감의 관계를 알아보고 청소년의 섭식문제와 우울의 관계에서 부모 공감의 조절효과를 알아보았다. 이를 위해 K지역 소재 중, 고등학교 남학생 246명에 대해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 섭식문제와 우울간의 관계는 부모 공감에 의해 조절되는 것으로 나타났다. 부모 공감의 하위요인들의 조절효과를 분석한 결과 아버지의 경우 정서 지각, 냉담정서반응, 과민정서반응이 조절효과를 보였고, 어머니의 경우 정서지각, 관점수용, 냉담정서반응, 과민정서반응이 섭식문제와 우울 간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 청소년이 지각하는 부모의 공감이 우울과 섭식문제의 관계에서 부정적 영향을 완화시킬 수 있는 조절변인임을 확인하였다는데 의의가 있다.

부모교육으로서의 부모놀이치료 효과에 대한 연구 (Effectiveness of Filial Play Therapy as Parent Education)

  • This study on filial play therapy training as parent education included 12 experimental group mothers, 11 control group mothers, and their 5-year-old children. Over 5 weeks, experimental group mothers received 2 hours filial therapy training 10 times, twice a week, and 30 minutes home special play 4 times, once a week. Each mother was videotaped playing with her child and completed three self-report instruments : Parental Acceptance Scale(Porter, 1954), Parenting Stress Index(Abidin, 1990), and Child Behavior Checklist(Oh et al., 1997) before and after the training. Pre- and post-test data was analyzed by paired-t test. Filial play therapy training enhanced empathy in adult-child interaction during free play. Significant increases appeared in parental acceptance level of child's feeling and autonomy.

유아의 공감에 관련된 변인 연구 (Factors related to Young Children′s Empathy)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify how characteristics of young children (sex, age, temperament), mothers (employed or unemployed, intimacy between mother and child, parenting attitudes), and home environment (pet, TV/Video viewing) relate to young children's empathy and to examine the relative effects of then variables on young children's empathy. The subjects for this study were 300 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds selected from kindergartens and day-care centers in Busan. Data were analyzed via t-test, correlation, and multiple regression. Results showed that girls had higher empathy score than boys. Young children's empathy was positively correlated with the sociability of young child's temperament, intimacy between mother and young child, reasoning guidance, affect, achievement of parenting attitudes, and parental intervention toward young child after TV/video viewing. However, young children's empathy was correlated negatively with authoritarian control of parenting attitudes. Among then variables, young children's sex was the most significant variable.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among mothers' reflective function, preschoolers' empathy, executive function, caring behaviors. Subjects for this study were 498 preschoolers and their mothers. Mothers' reflective function was assessed by the Parental Reflective Functioning Questionnaire(PRFQ). Preschoolers' empathy was assessed by the Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy(QCAE). Preschoolers' executive function was assessed by the Behavioral Rating Inventory of Executive Functions-Preschool Version(BRIEF-P), and caring behaviors were assessed by the caring behaviors scale(Kim, 2015). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), and structural equation model(SEM) with the SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program. The major results of this study were as follows. First, mothers' reflective function showed direct effects on preschoolers' empathy, executive function, and caring behaviors. Second, the preschoolers' empathy and executive function showed direct effects on preschoolers' caring behaviors. Third, preschoolers' empathy mediated the effects of mothers' reflective function on preschoolers' caring behaviors. The findings of this study will contribute to designing intervention programs to improve preschoolers' empathy, executive function, and caring behaviors.

교사의 공감능력과 유아의 또래 유능성간의 관계에서 교사-유아관계의 매개효과 연구 (A Study on the Mediating Effect of Teacher-Child Relationship between Teacher's Empathy Ability and Child's Peer Competence)

  • Objective: This study examined the relationships among teachers' empathy ability, children's peer competence and teacher-child relationships. Methods: 180 teachers and 360 children from 3 to 5 years old were included in the study. The research variables were measured by teachers' self-report through questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, and three-step mediated regression analysis. Results: First, teachers' empathy ability and teacher-child relationship showed significant differences according to teacher variables (age, marital status, parental status). And children's peer competence was significantly different according to gender. Second, intimacy which was a subfactor of teacher-child relationships showed a perfect mediating role in the association between teachers' empathy ability and peer competence. Conclusion/Implications: These results suggest the importance of teacher-child's intimate relationships since it affects the child's peer competence significantly. In this study, it was found that, in order to help foster the teacher's empathic ability and teacher-child relationships which have positive effects on the child's desirable peer formation, continuous teacher education and diverse studies are needed.
