It is known that generalized free products of finitely generated nilpotent groups are conjugacy separable when the amalgamated subgroups are cyclic or central in both factor groups. However, those generalized free products may not be conjugacy separable when the amalgamated subgroup is a direct product of two infinite cycles. In this paper we show that generalized free products of finitely generated nilpotent groups are conjugacy separable when the amalgamated subgroup is ${\langle}h{\rangle}{\times}D$, where D is in the center of both factors.

The recent work of Hopkins, Kuhn and Ravenel [H-K-R] indicates the Morava K-theory, $K(n)^*(-)$, occupy an important and fundamental place in homology theory. In particular $K(n)^*(BG)$ for classifying spaces of finite groups are studied by many authors [H-K-R], [R], [T-Y 1, 2] and [Hu].

We generalize 3-manifolds supporting non-positively curved metric to construct manifolds which have the following properties : (1) They are not locally CAT(0). (2) Their fundamental groups are residually finite. (3) They have subgroup separability for some abelian subgroups.

In this paper we introduce the notion of strong Galois H-progenerator object for a finite cocommutative Hopf quasigroup H in a symmetric monoidal category C. We prove that the set of isomorphism classes of strong Galois H-progenerator objects is a subgroup of the group of strong Galois H-objects introduced in [3]. Moreover, we show that strong Galois H-progenerator objects are preserved by strong symmetric monoidal functors and, as a consequence, we obtain an exact sequence involving the associated Galois groups. Finally, to the previous functors, if H is finite, we find exact sequences of Picard groups related with invertible left H-(quasi)modules and an isomorphism Pic(HMod) ≅ Pic(C)⊕G(H∗) where Pic(HMod) is the Picard group of the category of left H-modules, Pic(C) the Picard group of C, and G(H∗) the group of group-like morphisms of the dual of H.

In continuation to the investigation initiated by Ferraz, Goodaire and Milies in [4], we provide an explicit description for the Wedderburn decomposition of finite semisimple group algebras of the class of finite groups G, such that $$G/Z(G){\simeq_-}C_2{\times}C_2$$, where Z(G) denotes the center of G.

A Cayley graph of a finite group G is called normal edge-transitive if its automorphism group has a subgroup which both normalized G and acts transitively on edges. In this paper, we consider Cayley graphs of finite cyclic groups, namely, finite circulant graphs. We characterize the normal edge-transitive circulant graphs and determine the normal edge-transitive circulant graphs of prime power order in terms of lexicographic products.

The purpose of this paper is to identify the group of units of finite local rings of the types ${\mathbb{F}}_2[X]/(X^k)$ and ${\mathbb{Z}}_4[X]/I$, where I is an ideal. It turns out that they are 2-groups and we give explicit direct sum decomposition into cyclic subgroups of 2-power order and their generators.

In this paper, we show that tree products of certain subgroup separable groups amalgamating normal subgroups are cyclic subgroup separable. We then extend this result to certain graph product of certain subgroup separable groups amalgamating normal subgroups, that is we show that if the graph has exactly one cycle and the cycle is of length at least four, then the graph product is cyclic subgroup separable.

Following Matsumoto's definition of continuous orbit equivalence for one-sided subshifts of finite type, we introduce the notion of orbit equivalence to canonically associated dynamical systems, called the limit dynamical systems, of self-similar groups. We show that the limit dynamical systems of two self-similar groups are orbit equivalent if and only if their associated Deaconu groupoids are isomorphic as topological groupoids. We also show that the equivalence class of Cuntz-Pimsner groupoids and the stably isomorphism class of Cuntz-Pimsner algebras of self-similar groups are invariants for orbit equivalence of limit dynamical systems.
