  • With the development of information and communication technology, interest in new educational approaches that can enhance the learning performance of learners with improved information literacy skills is increasing, and universities are actively promoting educational innovation to foster the talents required by society. In the field of fashion studies education, which is closely related to the fashion industry, there is a strong need to develop field-linked educational programs that reflect the trends in the industry and changes in the educational system. The purpose of this study was to introduce industry-coupled problem-based learning (IC-PBL) to the course "Understanding Fashion Consumption Trends" for non-fashion majors to reflect the current needs and strengthen the educational effectiveness of the learners through a survey. A seven-step curriculum (introduction to the class, practitioner's problem, learner's problem analysis, organizing concepts related to variables, information collection and scenario writing, presentation and scenario proposal, and evaluation) not only enhanced learners' understanding of fashion consumption trends and the fashion industry but also greatly amplified learners' satisfaction with the class. The results of the survey showed that the seven-step curriculum was effective in increasing learners' self-directed learning ability, problem-solving ability, and confidence in learning. Self-directed learning ability was stronger than other factors, consistent with the core principle of problem-based learning to empower learners to take the initiative and promote self-directed learning. Each factor analyzed was positively correlated.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the demands for educational programs on clinical trials of Korean medicine devices, and develop training programs based on the needs of Korean medicine. Methods: This research was conducted targeting 26 volunteer applicants who had participated in clinical trials of Korean medicine devices within the last five years (2010-2015). The survey was carried out between May 1, 2015 and May 26, 2015 via e-mail. After receiving questionnaire replies, the material was established. Using obtained data, frequency analyses were performed using SPSS 20.0 version. Results: 92% of the researchers who participated in the survey expected introduction of educational programs on clinical trials and anticipated that programs contain information that can meet the needs of each researcher. In addition, according to the analysis, introducing expert certification for clinical trials of Korean medicine devices is necessary, and offering related graduate courses are also needed. Conclusions: As a result of this study, researchers had difficulties during clinical trials of Korean medicine devices. If the educational programs were to be developed and institutional frameworks support them effectively, it would prove to be helpful to researchers in clinical trials.

  • In order to analyze the educational effects of digital textbooks for elementary students, the 3~4 graded elementary students were selected and designated as panels in 2014 to conduct the longitudinal study. We conducted a questionnaire survey on students who were in grade 5 or 6 in elementary school in 2016 to evaluate their effects on cognitive domain, social domain, social domain, psychomotor domain, and learning competency. As a result, 5th grade students using the digital textbooks for 3 years showed higher educational effectiveness than 6th grade students using the digital textbooks for 2 years. In addition, the use of the digital textbooks for three years has been shown to have improved educational effectiveness in all areas except students' psychomotor domain. These educational effects were higher for students with higher scores, more times using digital textbooks, and higher teachers' smart education capacity.

The effects of the program were evaluated by assessing the changes in suicidal ideation, help-providing abilities, and suicide prevention knowledge in the data collected both before and after the education. Statistical analysis included frequency analysis and a paired-sample t-test. Results: The final analysis included 1,380 participants. In the general characteristics,, 1,079 people (78 %) answered "yes" to the question about suicide prevention education experience . The study found a significant decrease in suicidal attitudes (t=-8.92, p<.001) and significant improvements in emotional and cognitive attitudes of participants after the "Life Talk Talk" program . Additionally, all five items related to help-providing abilities (t=-23.83, p<.001) and suicide prevention knowledge (p<.001) showed significant improvement from before the program. Conclusion: The significance of this study lies in demonstrating the effectiveness of the "Life Talk Talk" suicide prevention education program in reducing suicidal attitudes as well as improving help-providing abilities and suicide prevention knowledge. Therefore, to enhance the effectiveness of suicide prevention education, it is essential to regularly implement concise and engaging educational programs that capture the attention of adolescents.
