  • In this study, we have investigated the relationship between festivals evaluation and the theme of festivals programs by using 'AHP survey of experts' on two festivals in each highest and lowest evaluated festivals. As a result, the musical performance of the opening ceremony of Hwajun Festival, the experimental village program of hansung bakjae festival, the street parade of Itaewon and the prehistoric street parade of Gandong cultural festival were found to have the highest relations with the themes. The result reveals the fact that the representative program of festival has been selected, program name was closely related to festival theme, matrix type program and experiential type program where leads the direct participation of visitors were prerequisite, and the festivals with highly related to the theme were also highly evaluated. Therefore, in order for the festival to receive a good evaluation, the high theme-related programs should be focused as main programs of festivals, and the low theme-related programs should pay more attention on their themes for promoting and branding diverse, thematic festivals.

Many local governments of the country have competitively implemented local festival events, some of which turned to be a success, while others not. This alerts the need for investigating whether the evaluation of the local festival events is appropriate, in order to better execute the provincial finance. The paper investigates this using the data of cultural tourism festivals from 2012 to 2014. More specifically, the paper first examines the relationships between choice dimensions (festival success index) and visitors' satisfaction, and then identify whether visitors' satisfaction and festival evaluation results are significantly correlated. This after all indicates whether the festival success index are well reflected in the festival evaluation results. The findings tell that choice dimensions well explain the visitors' satisfaction, whereas the visitors' satisfaction does not have a significant correlation with the festival evaluation results. • The important factors of a food festival are divided into hardware and software programs. In this respect, this research aims to study the relationships among the composites of the food festival and its relationship with the visitors' revisit intention. Since the visitors' evaluation is a presumption of their satisfaction, it lies in a constant relationship with satisfaction and the reason why they revisited the festival. Thus, this research examined the influence of the composite factors on visitors' evaluation (operation, experience) and the relationship between operation evaluation and experience evaluation. In addition, it examined the relationship between evaluation factors and the intent of revisits. In conclusion, visitors' evaluation showed a positive effect on the survey about whether they would consider revisiting the food festival. In this context of continuative relationship, the research suggests that it would be necessary to examine the relationship between composite factors, visitors' evaluation, satisfaction and intent of revisits in future research.
