  • This study was conducted for the purpose of providing basic data that aims to develop the clinical practice education program and improve satisfaction for clerkship by evaluating the satisfaction of students who participated in learning using role-play in the clerkship of the department of pediatric dentistry. 85 senior dental students participated in this study. The students were divided into 17 groups and randomly performed role-plays in their role. After each role-play, a questionnaire designed to evaluate students' satisfaction on interest and appropriacy and satisfaction on usefulness towards role-play were completed by 77 students. The mean score of total satisfaction was 3.38 on a 5 point Likert scale. The mean score satisfaction on interest and appropriacy was 3.99 and the mean score satisfaction on usefulness was 3.79. The satisfaction score in the role group of parents was the highest and there was a significant difference in mean scores by the role groups (p < 0.05). Students evaluated the role-play as an interesting and useful educational tool in clerkship. It is necessary to undergo further trials and complement programs to upgrade the quality of dental clerkship.

  • This descriptive study was conducted to investigate the relationship between clinical learning environment, professor trust, and academic engagement in nursing students. The findings of the study provide the basis for nursing education improvement related to academic engagement in nursing students. Data were collected from 120 nursing students at a university. Measurement parameters consisted of clinical learning environment (CLE, Clinical Learning Environment) 19 items, professor trust (PTS, Professor Trust Scale) 27 items, and academic engagement (UWES-S, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-Students) 13 items. The general characteristics of respondents were as follows: average age 21.91 years, females 87.4%, third grade 50.5%, fourth grade 49.5%, and an academic score just before the semester of high 16.2%, middle high 35.1%, middle low 36.9%, or low 11.5%. Academic engagement showed a statistically significant correlation between clinical learning environment and professor trust. Regression analysis showed that clinical learning environment (CLE), professor trust (PTS), and academic score just before the semester affected academic engagement. Results of this study suggest that clinical learning environment should be improved, and professor's efforts to give students credibility should be followed for academic engagement of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide developmental direction of medical education by analysing graduate medical school student's perception structure about 'good doctor' and the difference between graduate medical school student's perception structure about 'good doctor' before and after clerkship. Subject of study is medical students in 1st~4th year. NetMiner 4.0 program, which is social network analysis, was used to analyse. Many of the words that students used to describe good doctor were similar. But especially lots of times they used 'patient', 'treatment', 'competence', 'heart' and a word 'patient' showed highest degree centrality. Higher density of network and mean degree centrality were shown in students who experienced clerkship. 'Diagnosis and treatment', 'medical communication', 'attitudes to patients', 'medical knowledge', 'basic competence' these 5 groups were shown in network of students before and after clerkship in common. In the case of students after clerkship, 'lifelong learning ' groups have been added, so were the 6 groups. Considering the fact that social responsibility, professionalism, medical humanities are emphasized in recent medical education, students have lack of perception structure about good doctor, therefore education of this area needs to be strengthened.

  • This study attempted to provide basic data for developing strategies to improve the psychosocial well-being on nursing university students by identifying the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between clinic practice stress and psychosocial well-being of nursing university students. The subjects of the study were 175 nursing students in their 3rd and 4th year who had clinic practice experience at two universities in J province and G city. The SPSS/23.0 program was used to analyze the data with descriptive statistics; an independent t-test, analysis of variance ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and mediating effect analysis were performed using Process Macro 4.0. The psychosocial well-being of nursing university students showed a positive correlation with clinical practice stress (r=.472, p<.001), and a negative correlation with resilience (r=-.860, p<.001). Resilience showed a mediating effect on the relationship between clinical practice stress and psychosocial well-being. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to development and apply systematic programs to reduce clinical practice stress and increase resilience for improving the psychosocial well-being of nursing university students.

  • The realistic problem about the dental hygiene education in our country is what the correlation between theoretical education and clinical education is short, and what the systematically clinical-practice education is failing to be realized. In order to solve this problem, the aim is to introduce preceptor and to present necessity in order to apply preceptor to the practice education for dental hygiene department. 1. What is the largest in the difference between the observation experience and the performance experience by element in clinical-performance activity is the patience-care service sphere(P < .001). 2. A hospital with the highest observation-practice experience level in children with the observation experience by hospital was in order of K hospital, Y hospital, H hospital, B hospital, and A hospital(P < .001, P < .01). 3. A hospital was the highest in the difference of the performance-practice experience level by hospital. And, the next was in order of H hospital, Y hospital, K hospital, and B hospital(P < .001, P < .01). 4. As for recognition on importance of clinical-practice activity in dental hygienists, the dental hygienists with more than the third year were indicated to be the highest than the dental hygienists with less than the 3rd year among 58 dental hygienists. Given seeing the results of this study, the more systematic and educational clinical-practice environment will need to be improved by suggesting a role of preceptor and to seek for a plan for application in the clinical-practice education.

A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 207 senior nursing students. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data during the period from 1st to 30th of June, 2013. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS 18.0 program. At the results, the average levels of fatigue and self-efficacy were 3.52/5($SD={\pm}.52$) and 3.29/5($SD={\pm}.47$) respectively that meant above moderate. Study participants having motive of admission to nursing school voluntarily and having high satisfaction with nursing major were shown higher self-efficacy. There were correlated negatively between fatigue and self-efficacy(r=-.315, p<.001). By the findings of this study, it is necessary to develop a nursing practice education program to reduce the level of fatigue and improve the self efficacy of nursing students.
