  • In this paper, we introduce and study the w-weak global dimension w-w.gl.dim(R) of a commutative ring R. As an application, it is shown that an integral domain R is a $Pr\ddot{u}fer$ v-multiplication domain if and only if w-w.gl.dim(R) ${\leq}1$. We also show that there is a large class of domains in which Hilbert's syzygy Theorem for the w-weak global dimension does not hold. Namely, we prove that if R is an integral domain (but not a field) for which the polynomial ring R[x] is w-coherent, then w-w.gl.dim(R[x]) = w-w.gl.dim(R).

  • The purpose of this paper is to obtain the solution of Fredholm-Volterra integral equation with singular kernel in the space $L_2(-1, 1)\times C(0,T), 0 \leq t \leq T< \infty$, under certain conditions,. The numerical method is used to solve the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind with weak singular kernel using the Toeplitz matrices. Also the error estimate is computed and some numerical examples are computed using the MathCad package.

  • We will introduce and study the notion of prime bases for weakly prime submodules and utilize them to derive some formulas on the weak radical of submodules of a module. In particular, we will show that every one dimensional integral domain weakly satisfies the radical formula and state some necessary conditions on local integral domains which are semi-compatible or satisfy the radical formula and also on Noetherian rings which weakly satisfy the radical formula.

  • A condition for a certain maximal operator to be of weak type (p, p) is studied. This operator unifies various maximal operators cited in the literatures.

  • We prove that if a $weak^*$-measurable function f defined on a finite measure space into a dual Banach space is separable-like, then for every measurable set E, the $weak^*$ core of f over E is the $weak^*$ convex closed hull of the $weak^*$ essential range of f over E.

  • Let T be the singular integral operator with nonsmooth kernel which was introduced by Duong and McIntosh, and $T_q(q{\in}(1,{\infty}))$ be the vector-valued operator defined by $T_qf(x)=({\sum}_{k=1}^{\infty}{\mid}T\;f_k(x){\mid}^q)^{1/q}$. In this paper, by proving certain weak type endpoint estimate of L log L type for the grand maximal operator of T, the author establishes some quantitative weighted bounds for $T_q$ and the corresponding vector-valued maximal singular integral operator.

  • In this paper we investigate weak convergence of the intergral processes whose index set is the non-compact infinite time interval. Our first goal is to develop the empirical central limit theorem as random elements of [0, .infty.) for an integral process which is constructed from iid variables. In developing the weak convergence as random elements of D[0, .infty.), we will use a result of Ossiander(4) whose proof heavily depends on the total boundedness of the index set. Our next goal is to establish the empirical central limit theorem for the Kaplan-Meier integral process as random elements of D[0, .infty.). In achieving the the goal, we will use the above iid result, a representation of State(6) on the Kaplan-Meier integral, and a lemma on the uniform order of convergence. The first result, in some sense, generalizes the result of empirical central limit therem of Pollard(5) where the process is regarded as random elements of D[-.infty., .infty.] and the sample paths of limiting Gaussian process may jump. The second result generalizes the first result to random censorship model. The later also generalizes one dimensional central limit theorem of Stute(6) to a process version. These results may be used in the nonparametric statistical inference.

  • In this note we give the mapping properties of the Marcinkiewicz integral !-to. at some end spaces. More precisely, we first prove that !-to. is a bounded operator from H$^{1,($\mathbb{R) to H$^{1, ($\mathbb{R). As a corollary of the results above, we obtain again the weak type (1,1) boundedness of $\mu$$_{, but the condition assumed on n is weaker than Stein's condition. Finally, we show that !-to. is bounded from BMO($\mathbb{R) to BMO($\mathbb{R). The results in this note are the extensions of the results obtained by Lee and Rim recently.

  • Suppose the kernel function $\kappa$ belongs to $S(R^2)$ and is symmetric such that $ < \otimes x, \kappa >\geq 0$ for all $x \in S'(R)$. Let A be the class of functions f such that the function f is measurable on $S'(R)$ with $\int_{S'(R)}$\mid$f((I + tK)^{\frac{1}{2}}x$\mid$^2d\mu(x) < M$ for some $M > 0$ and for all t > 0, where K is the integral operator with kernel function $\kappa$. We show that the \lambda$-potential $G_Kf$ of f is a weak solution of $(\lambda I - \frac{1}{2} \tilde{\Xi}_{0,2}(\kappa))_u = f$.
