This paper investigates the impact of the domestic and global outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the trading size of the Malaysian stock (MS) market. The theoretical model posits that stock markets are affected by their response to disasters and events that arise in the international or local environments, as well as to several financial factors such as stock volatility and spread bid-ask prices. Using daily time-series data from 27 January to 12 May 2020, this paper utilizes the traditional Augmented Dickey and Fuller (ADF) technique and Zivot and Andrews with structural break' procedures for a stationarity test analysis, while the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) method is applied according to the trading size of the MS market model. The analysis considered almost all 789 listed companies investing in the main stock market of Malaysia. The results confirmed our hypotheses that both the daily growth in the active domestic and global cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) has significant negative effects on the daily trading size of the stock market in Malaysia. Although the COVID-19 has a negative effect on the Malaysian stock market, the findings of this study suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic may have an asymmetric effect on the market. -

The study aims to investigate the impact of seasonality in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries' share market during the month of Ramadan. It helps in finding the opportunities for stock market investors to earn abnormal (returns) gain by investing during Ramadan in GCC stock markets. This study uses stock returns data of GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Dubai, and UAE) from January 2004 to November 2019. Stock prices indexes of GCC stock markets have been obtained from Datastream. The ARCH-GARCH model is used to study the impact of the Ramadan month on the return and volatility of the stock market in GCC countries. The results showed that the Ramadan month has a significant impact on share market prices in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. However, Ramadan has an insignificant impact on share market prices in Bahrain and Oman. The study found no evidence of serial correlational between residuals in Kuwait; meaning that stock return was not dependent on the prior stock returns in Kuwait, therefore, we cannot go for forecasting. The ARCH-LM test statistic for Qatar does not fulfill the requirement of a good regression model; therefore, we cannot go for forecasting or testing the hypothesis of Qatar. -
This study examines the role of the manufacturing sector in stimulating economic growth in the Saudi economy. Even though the economic literature shows how the manufacturing sector stimulates economic growth, it does not clearly show the role of the manufacturing sector in economic growth. The study employed annual time-series data spanning the 1980-2018 period from the databases of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority. Moreover, the cointegration and VECM approaches were employed to examine the short- and long-run relationship causality between variables. The results show a two-way causal relationship exists between the manufacturing sector and economic growth. Furthermore, the results indicate that a unidirectional causal relationship exists, running from the manufacturing sector to the services sector. The study recommends that the determinants of the growth of the Saudi manufacturing sector must be investigated. Moreover, the most productive Saudi manufacturing industries must be identified, and the productivity of other sectors must be increased in a way that contributes to economic plans and policies. Thus, adopting economic policies that stimulate investment in the manufacturing sector contributes to increasing non-oil exports to diversify sources of income to achieve vision 2030 of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This study aims to determine the relation between the real sector and the financial sector in underdeveloped areas in Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. To facilitate understanding of these linkages, researchers use the logic of credit channel mechanism of monetary policy, financial intermediation, as well as supply leading and demand following theories. The research variables include economic growth, inflation, liquidity, and NPL at the provincial level, with a data sample from 2008 to 2019. This research uses VAR/VECM as the analysis tools. The findings of the long-term analysis in East Nusa Tenggara show there is a phenomenon of cost-push inflation as well as the negative relation between inflation and economic growth. The impact of liquidity on inflation is positive, while the impact of economic growth on inflation is negative. Meanwhile, in West Nusa Tenggara, the impact of economic growth on inflation is positive. On the other hand, the impact of liquidity and NPL on inflation and economic growth is negative. In conclusion, generally, the economy in West Nusa Tenggara is better than the East Nusa Tenggara. The key to improving the economy of Nusa Tenggara is by improving its liquidity. This can be done by increasing the volume of public savings to increase bank credit capacity. -

Human capital and innovation capacities are essential elements and one of the sustainable approaches to driving economic growth. However, there is debate among scholars concerning these two factors in fostering economic growth. This study investigates the relationships between human capital and innovation capacity and economic growth in selected ASEAN countries, namely, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Economists widely discussed the interrelation of human capital and innovation. A large body of literature stated that human capital is an essential factor and engine of economic growth. Innovation has become key in transforming the economic development of developing countries. We analyze human capital (HC) and innovation capacity (INC) using static panel data analysis. The data analysis shows that the fixed-effect model is the best model in this study. Further, human capital (HC) has a significant positive relationship with economic growth. Meanwhile, innovation capacity has no significant relationship with economic growth. We also found that Malaysia's coefficient of human capital and innovation capacity is higher and more efficient than in Thailand and Indonesia. In conclusion, human capital and innovation capacity are crucial elements for measuring economic growth. Skilled human capital contributes significantly to the economic growth and economic development of a nation. -

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship and effects of variables both directly and indirectly (e.g., investment (INV), government expenditure (GE), unemployment rate (UR), economic growth (EG), and income inequality). The analytical phases consist, first, to transform the data using the Log Natural (Ln) method. Second, to check normality and multicollinearity of data. Third, to test direct effects of variables (government expenditure and investment effect on the unemployment rate and economic growth; investment on government expenditure; economic growth on unemployment rate; economic growth and unemployment rate on income inequality). Fourth, to test indirect effects using Sobel test, which involves UR and EG as intervening variable. Fifth, to test hypotheses with p-value < 0.05. The results of the study reveal that, of the 12 relationships, statistics show that 11 variations of the association have significant positive and negative effects. Theoretically, the different characters and goals of GE and INV in each country will have a different impact on EG and UR goals. The study provides an input, especially for the government. To create optimal EG through GE and INV, it is necessary to allocate budgets to industrial sectors that can absorb a massive labor force and to new economic growth sectors. -

The COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world has rendered a large proportion of the workforce unable to commute to work, to mitigate the spread of the virus. This has resulted in both employers and employees seeking alternative work arrangements. Due to the pandemic, most if not all workers experienced work from home Hence work from home has become a policy priority for most governments. Individuals have started to change their behavior to stick to the curfew and rapidly conform to the new way of life. This study is conducted to understand how organizations and people adjust to these developments and challenges. Numerous organizations are changing to the online method of working because of the COVID-19. Because of the continuous adoption of a specific behavior after the COVID-19 pandemic situation ended, employees were expected to continue working from home. To investigate deep into the behavioral consequences of such a pandemic situation, in-depth interviews were conducted in several companies in Saudi Arabia. This study was conducted by extending the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the theory of reasoned action (TRA) to explore and assess the various factors that determine the continuous adoption intention of work-from-home by the Saudis. The finding shows that the employees' positive attitude, subjective norms, and self-efficacy affect the employees' intention to adopt work from home. The continuous adoption of work from home has been affected by employees' relevant intention and controllability. -

The purpose of this research is to identify factors affecting the acceptance and use of e-tax services among medium taxpayers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The researcher conducted the study based on a quantitative approach by using multi-stage sampling method, which selects a sample size by two or more stages. The first stage sampling was the stratified random sampling and the subsequent stage was purposive sampling. In this study, the stratified random sampling was first used, followed by purposive sampling. The data were collected from 450 medium taxpayers who experienced using e-tax services located in three tax branches in Phnom Penh. This study adapted the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation model (SEM) to analyze the model accuracy, reliability and influence of various variables. The primary result showed that behavioral intention has a significant effect on user behavior of e-tax services among medium taxpayers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Moreover, the results revealed that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and anxiety have significant impact on behavioral intention. In addition, social influence has the strongest impact on behavioral intention, followed by anxiety, performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Conversely, facilitating conditions, trust in government, and trust in internet do not influence behavioral intention. -
The paper examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the stock market prices. The vector autoregression model (VAR) has been used in this analysis to survey 341 stocks on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) for the period from January 23, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The empirical results obtained from the analysis of 11 economic sectors suggest that there is a statistically significant impact relationship between COVID-19 and the healthcare and utility industries. Additional findings show a statistically significant negative impact of COVID-19 on the utility share price at lag 1. Analysis of impulse response function (IRF) and forecast error variance decomposition (FEVD) show an inverse reaction of utility stock prices to the impact of COVID-19 and a gradual disappearing shock after two steps. Major findings show that there is a clear negative effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on share prices, and the daily increase in the number of confirmed cases, indicate that, in future disease outbreaks, early containment measures and positive responses are necessary conditions for governments and nations to protect stock markets from excessive depreciation. Utility stocks are among the most severely impacted shares on financial exchanges during a pandemic due to the high risk of immediate or irreversible closure of manufacturing lines and poor demand for basic amenities.

The aim of this research is to provide empirical evidence on the impact of CSR disclosure on earnings management and firm value. The population used in this study were all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2018. The sample in this study was 114 companies selected through purposive sampling. The results of data analysis show that CSR has a positive effect on Firm Value. CSR disclosure is one form of activity that companies carry out in influencing their stakeholder decisions. This is by the theory that a company is not an entity that only operates for its interests, but the main objective of the company is to meet stakeholder needs. Besides, CSR has a positive effect on Earning Management. The results of this study contrary to research conducted by prior research which states that CSR can reduce earning management because CSR not only increases information transparency but also creates interaction with stakeholders. The difference in findings in this study is because CSR disclosure in Indonesia is still low, as seen from the average CSR in Indonesia, which is 33%, and it is still not transparent so that companies tend to carry out earnings management. -

Takaful, which is an Islamic insurance instrument, manages risks in business, according to Shariah (Islamic law) principles and offers risk protection and savings assets. The study analyzes the comparative efficiency of takaful insurance companies by implementing empirical research. The study also provides a comprehensive literature review on the efficiency analysis of the takaful industry. The empirical part presents a wide range of efficiency comparisons of 41 takaful insurance companies in 16 countries between 2009 and 2014. The data enveloping analysis technique is utilized using the rDEA package in the R environment to compute the efficiency score. In the study, the technical efficiency, overall technical efficiency, and pure technical efficiency are calculated and compared per year and per country. The findings of the study suggest that the overall average efficiency scores of takaful companies are considerably high. The study results also indicate that the excess in the consumption of inputs decreases while the deficit in achieved outputs has been declining in the covered period. The study suggests the managers of the takaful companies can use the target efficiency scores, which are calculated by using the DEA analysis, as an ideal reference benchmark for planning their inputs and outputs. -
This study investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on exchange rates of the top ten currencies according to their trading value with Thailand by employing a regression analysis. Data includes daily number of COVID-19 cases - confirmed, new, deaths - and exchange rates against Thai Baht - CNY, JPY, USD, MYR, SGD, VND, IDR, AUD, HKD, TWD - which cover the period from January 2, 2020 to December 15, 2020. Results show that the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Thailand relate to changes in all exchange rates; CNY, MYR, SGD, VND, AUD, and TWD have depreciated in relation to the THB, whereas JPY, USD, IDR, and HKD have appreciated. Furthermore, the new cases and deaths of COVID-19 have similar associations with almost all exchange rates. Deprecation of the JPY, USD, VND, HKD, and TWD in relation to the THB is due to new cases, on the contrary the MYR, IDR, and AUD have appreciated. Likewise, the JPY, USD, VND, and HKD have depreciated, but the CNY, MYR, SGD, and AUD have appreciated in relation to the THB owing to deaths cases. The study findings provide useful knowledge to manage an exchange rate risk for business and could help policymakers to improve the efficiency of exchange rate.

This paper aims to analyze whether company characteristics are potential determinants of human resource accounting (HRA) disclosure practices by Vietnamese listed companies. It examines the human resource disclosure level of 204 companies by content analysis of these companies' annual reports. The study has relied on a multiple linear regression to test the association between a number of corporate attributes and the extent of human resource disclosure in companies' annual reports. The extent of human resource disclosure was measured using unweighted human resource disclosure index. The explanatory variables considered in this study were firm size, firm age, profitability, leverage, industry profile, and auditor type. The results revealed that the most influential variable for explaining firms' variation in human resource disclosure is firm size followed by firm age and profitability. Thus, it can be concluded that firm size, firm age and profitability are major predictors that may affect the variety of HRA disclosure practices on firms listed in the Vietnam Stock Exchange. However, neither industry profile nor auditor type seems to explain differences in human resource disclosure practices between Vietnamese listed firms, indicating that company's industry profile and auditor type are not a matter for the company to disclose HRA information. -

The financial system is a relatively important sector in the economy of a country. Its role in providing access to financial services to people is able to support a better economy. The main problem in this financial system is caused by the barriers that prevent individuals or companies from accessing these financial services. This study aims to empirically analyze the relationship financial inclusion and financial system stability in ASEAN 4 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and The Philippines). Financial inclusion proxied by the financial inclusion through credit variable and other banking variables such as the number of financial services access, banking asset, and financial system stabilization is seen from banking performance through non-performing loan and Z score instruments. Empirically, the study uses panel data in the form of annual data for 2005-2016. The method used Panel VAR. The result shows that financial inclusion affects the stability of the financial system in ASEAN 4. This indicates that financial development through financial inclusion can encourage stability of the financial system in ASEAN 4. In this globalization era, the integrated financial system is increasing, this research shows the importance of developing financial inclusion by eliminating barriers to financial exclusion. -

The purposes of this research were: 1) to analyze the confirmatory factors with the business operational model of entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the textile and clothing industry, and 2) to verify the congruence of the model with the operational ways of the entrepreneurs of SMEs in the textile and clothing industry. The sample consisted of 500 small and medium enterprise entrepreneurs in the textile and clothing industry. This study was quantitative research and the instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. The data was analyzed using 1st order and 2nd order of confirmatory analysis (CFA). The findings of this research revealed that the model of SMEs in the textile and clothing industry was overall at a high level. Four main factors were used for the model of SMEs in the textile and clothing industry by their importance in descending order as follows: marketing mix (MM), collaboration network (CN), production inventory management (PIM), and creativity (CT). The results of verification of model congruence revealed the model of SMEs in the textile and clothing industry was fit and in accordance with the empirical data. -
Nowadays, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are placed among the key components of the economy in both developed and developing countries. They are internationally known as the driving force based on their enormous contributions to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and generating new employment. They are generally presumed as the leader of environmental sustainability, economic prosperity, and innovation, particularly for the economy of developing countries such as Vietnam. However, SMEs have difficulty in raising capital, as well as access to credit. One of the reasons is that there are inadequacies in accounting information quality in SMEs as well as the provision of accounting information and accounting information confidentiality. The main objective of this study was to identify, evaluate, and measure the attributes of accounting information quality of SMEs in Hanoi. The study was based on a field survey using a semi-structured questionnaire on a sample of 150 accountants. The study has identified and measured six (6) attributes of accounting information quality of SMEs that have great effects on accountants. There is, statistically, no significant difference in the level of accounting information quality of SMEs in Hanoi from these different business areas. There is no, statistically, significant difference in the level of accounting information quality of SMEs in Hanoi between the mentioned three groups of the job description. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given for SMEs to improve accounting information quality.

The research aims to evaluate college students' financial behavior and provide empirical insight into factors that may influence their financial behavior by investigating whether financial socialization, financial experience, and financial literacy are meaningful for students' financial behavior. The surveys data was conducted with 595 college students from all over Indonesia then analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results demonstrate that financial socialization positively influences financial literacy and financial behavior. On the other hand, financial experience has a negative influence on financial literacy, yet a positive one on financial behavior. Furthermore, the result also shows financial socialization are the key determinant of financial literacy and financial literacy is vital and plays an essential role for financial behavior and it may derive from financial socialization and financial literacy. It indicates that the influence of social agents can benefit students in improving their financial literacy and behavior. However, experience also can influence their financial behaviors. The lack of experience of college students leads to inadequate financial knowledge and raises their risk of financial decisions. Students with sufficient financial knowledge and exhibiting good financial behavior can make wise decisions in financial planning and management, thus may prevent financial issues in the future. -

Thailand's tourism industry contributed to over three trillion baht in 2019. Tourist attractions across Thailand attract tourists around the world with their natural scenery, lifestyles, and cultures, especially in those called "second-tier cities". Community enterprises play a vital role to drive the tourism industry to local areas. However, most community enterprises lack professional accounting knowledge. This research aims to provide guidelines for ecotourism cost management of community enterprises in Thailand. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was employed to investigate the current circumstances of the Banlaem enterprise by using in-depth interviews to identify problems in cost management. Then, the focus and small group meetings were organized to monitor and evaluate solutions. The results reveal that the cost of VIP-Two Days trip was generating the highest net profit and margin, followed by VIP-One Day trip, but net losses were detected on the Students-One Day trip, even though income was greater than the variable costs, revenues didn't cover fixed costs. Thus, accounting knowledge could be a major concern of these enterprises. They should systematically record revenues and expenses, set appropriate labor costs, reduce production costs by using seasonal seafood and make use of vegetables in their gardens, and price products according to their production costs. -

This study aims to assess the impact of ownership structure of commercial banks on bank credit risk in Vietnam. The authors used the unbalanced table data of 28 commercial banks in the period from 2004 to 2020 with 439 observations. The ratio of loan loss provisioning to loans (CR) is selected as a dependent variable representing credit risk at commercial banks. The regression methods used include: least squares method (OLS), fixed-effect model (FEM), random-effect model (REM) and general least squares method (GLS). The results reveal that, with interaction variable between the ratio of equity to total assets and foreign ownership, the national GDP annual growth rate is negatively associated with credit risk. With the ratio of equity to total assets, the interaction variable between equity and state ownership, and bank size have a significant positive impact on credit risk. In addition, inflation has negligible impact on the credit risk of commercial banks in Vietnam over the research period. The findings of this study suggest that, if foreign-owned banks increase equity capital, there will be a stronger impact on reducing credit risk than other banks. On the other hand, when state-owned commercial banks in Vietnam increase equity, they will have higher credit risk. -

This paper aims to analyze the influence of innovation capabilities on the relationship between strategic orientation and the performance of women small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs). The strategic orientation in this study used three constructs, namely market orientation, learning orientation, and technology orientation. The method of data collection was the survey method and was collected from 149 SMEs in the typical culinary industry in Indonesia using probability samples. The data analysis method uses path analysis. The results showed that the influence of strategic orientation on business performance has strengthened previous studies. However, in this study strategic orientation that directly affects business performance is market orientation and learning orientation, while technology orientation has no direct effect. The existence of innovation capability as a mediation variable strengthens the influence of strategic orientation on business performance. The results of this study also showed that the ability of innovation has a positive and significant effect on the performance of women entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The contribution of this research pays special attention to the strategic orientation of women entrepreneurs engaged in the culinary business in Indonesia. -
This article emphasizes the consequences of exploring the relationship between sustainable development practices and non-financial performing factors. Also, it investigates the combined effects of the transformational leadership style on the relationship between sustainable development practices and non-financial performing factors. Using primary data sources, this study reviews the literature on the relationship between the factors of the effectiveness of sustainable development practices of Jordanian contractors and non-financial performance. A total of 290 questionnaires were personally distributed to contractors in the Amman district in Jordan. Only 253 questionnaires were returned and usable for further analysis, which represents a response rate of 87%. Data was collected from October 2020 until April 2020. Hypotheses were tested through multiple regression analysis, and hypotheses for interacting effect were examined through hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Based on the results of the analysis obtained there is a significant effect on the relationship between sustainable development and non-financial performances. It shows that construction companies involved in sustainability practices will able to improve their performance, which contributed significantly toward the overall firm's performance. Whereas, results from hierarchical multiple regressions showed that transformational leadership had no moderation effect on the non-financial performance in such a way that reaches a higher firm performance level.

This research aimed to investigate the key factors affecting student satisfaction and loyalty in selected private universities in Cambodia. The study implemented a quantitative survey designed and guided by seven hypotheses to test the causal relationships among variables, such as academic experience, faculty services, campus life, social integration, student support facilities, student satisfaction, university image, and student loyalty. The research applied a multi-stage sampling technique of probability procedures to guarantee the presence of the research population. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were applied for data analysis to test the hypotheses model. The collected survey totaled 543 from three universities. The purposive sampling methods were used to select the three target universities, based on their reputation, the number of students, year of establishment, and the recognition from the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport. The stratified random sampling method was employed to select target respondents for data collection by dividing the population into subgroups to ensure a random sample. The results showed that student support facilities, campus life, and social integration, faculty services, and university image play very important roles in the satisfaction and loyalty of the students in three universities. -

This study aims to determine the behavior of consumer interest in sustainable fashion products in Indonesia and the factors that influence it. Personal values, Green Trust, and attitude toward green products are studied to get a proper picture of the ethical behavior of consumers. The method used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) technique using AMOS 23 software. A sample of 103 participants used the convenience sampling technique. The study results show that green trust and attitude toward green products successfully mediate personal value and green purchase intention on ethical fashion products in Indonesia. In this study, it was found that personal values cannot directly influence the purchase intention of sustainable fashion products. The influence of Personal Value must first be mediated by green trust or attitude toward green products to further influence green purchase intention of ethical fashion products in Indonesia. This is not in line with previous studies. Indicators of personal values such as self-transcendence, self-enhancement, conservation, and openness directly cannot predict the behavior of purchase intentions for sustainable fashion products in Indonesia. This paper examines the impact of corporate governance strength on capital structure in an emerging country, namely, Jordan, by constructing a corporate governance score that captures both internal monitoring mechanisms (foreign ownership and institutional ownership) and external monitoring mechanism (audit fees). In addition, this study uses profitability as control variable. This paper uses data of non-financial companies (industrial and services) of 87 listed firms on Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) from 2011 to 2019. Using the random-effects generalized least square (GLS) regression model, the findings reveal that foreign ownership significantly and negatively influences the level leverage, while institutional ownership has a positive and insignificant association with level leverage. Further, audit fees have a positive and strong significant association with level leverage in Jordan. In addition, profitability has a positive and significant association with leverage. These outcomes suggest that foreign ownership should be encouraged in listed companies as it can replace the weakness of other corporate governance mechanisms in Jordan. The outcomes of the current study should be of great interest to regulators and policy-makers. The results, which are robust to a range of alternative proxies and to additional tests, provide new insights into the determinants of level leverage. -

The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of customer value and customer trust as a mediator of flexibility influence on customer retention. The study applies SEM tools with WarpPLS analysis and translates customer value and customer trust as mediation. This study was organized into three parts: exploratory research, descriptive research, and explanatory research. The quantitative approach in this study uses a survey method by taking samples from the population. This is a latent variable that is measured using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to respondents. This research was conducted at PT. Nusa Prima Logistics Terminal Teluk Lamong by taking primary data, in the form of assessments or perceptions from respondents, so a survey was conducted by submitting a questionnaire directly to 194 respondents. Quantitative data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to answer the research hypothesis. Flexibility is very influential in increasing customer retention so to develop customer retention, it is necessary to increase flexibility, customer value, and customer trust. The novelty in this research lies in identifying the role and position of customer value and customer trust as mediation that affect customer retention. -

The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between concept perceptions and people's attitudes in halal tourism, development perceptions and people's attitudes, attitude and people's interest, concept perceptions and people's interest, development perceptions and people's interest, concept perceptions and people's interest, and development perceptions and people's interest. The method used in this research is SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) method. The population in this study was all Banten people. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The data collection method used by researchers is a survey through filling out an online questionnaire. Based on regression test results shows concept perceptions has a significant effect on people's attitudes Development perceptions has no significant effect on people's attitudes, the attitude has no significant effect on people's interest, concept perceptions have no significant effect on people's interest, development perceptions have no significant effect on people's interest. Globalization has greatly contributed to an increased need for improvement of human capital, and particularly in the development of the real estate and construction sector. Since the political and economic reforms in 1986, Vietnam has experienced a strong economic performance. The real estate and construction sector is one of the fastest growing industries in Vietnam, accounting for approximately 7.6% of GDP in Vietnam. The aim of this study is to identify critical factors influencing the satisfaction of employees to their working place. The sample data collected was from 265 employees, managers and staff in real estate and construction companies in Vietnam. After revising the missing data, and the errors, 240 valid respondents are selected. In addition, the analysis also employs SPSS software by discussing descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha test, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and regression analysis. Our empirical findings show that a company offering greater wages can positively affect the satisfaction of employees to their working place in the real estate and construction sector. In addition, a firm with a superior working relationship and working environment has a positive and statistically significant impact on the satisfaction of employees to their working place.

Fraud cases that are committed by top management or people who have high positions or organization can be called character assassination crimes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ethical leadership on organizational citizenship behavior and the effect of ethical leadership on job satisfaction and job satisfaction on organizational citizenship behavior. This study uses quantitative methods with SEM analysis tools partial least square (PLS) with the population of this study being all civil servants in the Kediri city government with 125 organizational members. This research instrument uses a questionnaire divided into three main parts: (1) leadership ethics as measured by 6 indicators and 12 items. (2) Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) as measured by 7 dimensions and 14 items (3) job satisfaction as measured by 4 indicators and 8 items. Based on the results of the discussion of data analysis that has been carried out through data processing and proof of hypotheses, it can be concluded that an increase in ethical leadership will have an impact on increasing organizational citizenship behavior, an increase in ethical leadership variables will affect job satisfaction and that job satisfaction has no significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. -

In the context of economic growth, the banking system has greatly contributed to a substantial rise in living conditions, connecting savings and investment, and economic growth. Since economic reform in 1986, Vietnam's banking system has increasingly expanded in quality and quantity of banks including state-owned, private-owned, and foreign banks. The aim of this study is to evaluate the main factors affecting employee's performance in the banking system in the case of an emerging economy of Vietnam. Using the pilot study by investigating three experts in a few banks in order to correct the questionnaires, and a mega sample data of 170 observations conducted from bank's staffs, and managers in Hanoi capital of Vietnam, empirical results demonstrate that the independent variables included in the model can explain 67% of the change of the dependent variable of employee's performance, and the rest (31%) can be explained by other reasons. Further, motivation (MO), and working ability (WA) have a positive and insignificant impact on employee's performance, reflecting that motivation, and working ability have insignificantly affected employee's performance. In contrast, four factors, namely, welfare, working environment, cooperation, and education have a positive and significant impact on employee's performance in the case of Hanoi, Vietnam. -

Ambidexterity and leadership agility have become the most researched topics to analyze their application in companies, especially in this dynamic era. Several researchers have analyzed it in large companies. However, only a few have discussed the two topics simultaneously and at the MSME level. This study aims to analyze the relationship between ambidexterity and leadership agility and innovation capability and performance at MSMEs in Yogyakarta and East Java, Indonesia. This study is analyzed by using quantitative methods with SEM (Structural Equation Model) methods. The data in this study is primary data that is obtained through distributing 230 questionnaires to MSME managers in Yogyakarta and East Java, Indonesia. From 230 questionnaires distributed, 200 questionnaires are returned and completed, so the response rate in this study is 86%. The results in this study indicate that ambidexterity and leadership agility have a significant effect on innovation capability and MSME performance. This study also proved that innovation capability has a significant effect on MSME performance. Therefore, it is recommended for MSME managers to develop ambidexterity and leadership agility so they can create innovation and good performance. In the end, this study has provided findings related to the combination of ambidexterity and leadership agility variables. -

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, spiritual leadership, and work-life balance and its impact on innovative behavior through the mediating effect of employee engagement on the state-owned sharia bank of Central Java Province. The total sample of this study is 226 respondents taken from state-owned sharia bank in 6 Regencies/Cities in the former Karisedenan of Central Java. Samples are taken using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique is using the division of regions based on clusters (cities) and is carried out using a purposive sampling method. The results indicate that the indirect influence of all independent variables on innovative behavior through the mediating effect of employee engagement is found to be significant. This study views employee engagement from the perspective of religiosity-based social exchange theory so that religious values in the interaction relationship can be fairly applied and respected by the employees of the state-owned sharia bank. Managers can socialize the importance of spirit behavior to employees so that it can be their everyday attitude and becomes their guide for work. Leaders can become role models in straightening intentions while working as well as conditioning the conscience to always think positively at work by strengthening work engagement in sharia banking institutions. -

This paper examines the relationship between ownership structure and level cash holdings in an emerging country, namely, Saudi Arabia, by constructing a corporate governance mechanism (foreign ownership, family ownership, institutional and managerial ownership). This paper uses data from 100 listed firms at Saudi Stock Exchange (TADAWUL) from 2011 to 2019. The firm's decision to hold cash has come to the fore in the last two or three years as a result of the recent global financial crisis, and the impact that this has had on the firms' ability to raise funds from external sources. Using the random-effect generalized least square (GLS) regression model, the findings reveal that foreign and family ownership negatively influences cash holdings, while managerial ownership has a positive association with cash holdings. Further, institutional ownership did not have a direct effect on cash holdings in Saudi Arabia. Our results suggest that ownership structure include foreign ownership, family and managerial ownership is an essential vehicle to promote the performance of cash holding of all the 100 public-listed non-financial firms in Saudi Arabia. We recommend that sound policies should be targeted toward foreign ownership, family, and managerial ownership since they are essential to improve cash holding in Saudi Arabian firms. -

The study seeks to identify the determinants of the adoption of e-commerce by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries, in our case, in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to examine the factors influencing e-commerce adoption. This study uses the method of quantitative data collection based on a questionnaire survey of SMEs in Indonesia. The research relies on Regional Project stipulations regarding Business Development in Indonesia, to capture businesses with a range of 5 to 100 employees that are classified as SMEs. This study randomly chose 100 SMEs in Indonesia from the IndoNetwork database. Partial least square (PLS) structural model data processing was used for path coefficients analysis. Structural equation modeling is applied in this study to analyze the determinant factors on the e-commerce adoption. The study findings reveal that four factors, namely, perceived benefits, compatibility, technology readiness, and government support, significantly influence the adoption of e-commerce, whereas customer/supplier pressure does not have influence. So, this study concludes that perceived benefits, compatibility, technology readiness, and government support had a significant and positive relationship with e-commerce adoption. Meanwhile, customer/supplier pressure had no effect on the e-commerce adoption of by Indonesia SMEs. -

The aim of this study is to fill gaps in emerging empirical evidence and negative electronic word of mouth (NeWOM) in repurchase intention (RI) moderated by the roles of social network sites (SNS) and company mitigation response (CMR). This type of research is descriptive. The sample used in this study is online consumers who buy energy drinks, based on the questionnaire obtained by 145 respondents. Based on the results of testing the estimation of the structural equation model, it was found that the negative variable brand experience sharing had no significant effect on NeWOM; the negative variable electronic reviews had a significant effect on the electronic word of mouth variable, the negative variable electronic reviews had a significant effect on the negative electronic variable word of mouth, the variable intensity of the use of social networking sites can strengthen the direction of the causal influence between the negative variables sharing brand experiences on negative electronic words of mouth. The variable social networking sites usage intensity can strengthen the direction of the effect of causality between negative electronic review variables on negative electronic word of mouth, the negative brand experience sharing variable does not have a significant effect on the repurchase intention variable. -

This study comprehensively investigates whether there is an impact of risk, size, profitability, earnings per share, dividend yield, and book-to-market equity on the stock prices of Jordanian banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) for the period 2006-2018. To mitigate endogeneity concerns and to control for within-bank dynamics, panel data fixed effects estimations are used. This study shows that size (SIZE), profitability (ROA), dividend yield (DY) and book-to-market equity (BE/ME) ratios are statistically significant determinants of stock prices. The risk (RISK) factor measured by volatility of ROA has a positive and significant effect on the stock prices, while earnings per share has minimum influence on the stock prices. The results show that ROA has a significant and positive effect and provides the largest effect among all variables used in this study, while the RISK factor has a positive and significant effect. In contrast, SIZE, DY, and BE/ME have a significant negative effect on stock prices. The paper presented new evidence showing that ROA is a better determinant of stock prices in Jordanian banks, and RISK significantly affects stock prices. The researcher recommends using a factor of profitability represented by ROA which has a significant positive effect on the stock prices in Jordanian banks and applying the ROA variable to other sectors. -

This study examines the role of effective human resource practices and work-life balance in various organizations and their relationship with employee engagement. The data for this study were obtained from 723 employees from various industries in Java. The result suggests that human resource practice alone did not influence employee engagement. However the human resource policy helps develop a sense of WLB for an employee, which in the long run will affect the level of engagement. Thus, work-life balance enables the relationship between employees and their workplace. This study also encompasses current literature regarding huan resource policies in understanding employee engagement through work-life balance. This study provides exploratory findings regarding HR function practices, WLB, and employee involvement in service organizations. It proved that participants from four organizations reported very positive impressions about HR practices and they were also very involved in their work and organization. While their balance still needs to be improved, this may imply that the participants are not happy with their work lives. The main finding of this study is that WLB plays a mediating role in the relationship between HR practices and employee engagement. This means that organizations need to find ways to help employees achieve a better WLB. -

This paper investigates the presence of momentum profits in the Saudi stock market. The study applied a quantitative method by utilizing monthly closing prices of 194 listed firms on Tadawal (Saudi Stock Market). The data from January 2010 to February 2019 is taken from the Tadawal market database for analysis. The sample is further divided into two equal sub-samples based on the structural changes that occurred in the Saudi stock market. Moreover, the high- and low-value traded portfolios are also constructed to examine the presence of momentum profits. Sixteen investment strategies are formed for each sample. The results show a very strong presence of momentum profits in the Saudi stock market for the full sample as well as for the sub-samples. The momentum profits are observed for a longer investment horizon. The results confirm that the short or medium-term formation of portfolios produces negative momentum returns for high-value traded stocks. The low-value traded stocks portfolios give similar results to the full sample results in terms of momentum profits. The results suggest that an investor should keep an eye on the past performance of desired stocks for at least three-nine months in which they are willing to invest. -

Underpricing signifies that IPO share prices do not reflect the fundamental value of the listed company. Corporate governance plays an essential role in IPOs where the board of directors, the independent board of directors, and the board of supervisors are significant elements of accurate share pricing. The study investigates the underpricing phenomena and short-term performance of the IPO companies during the listing process in the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE). The work outcomes illustrate the role of the corporate organizational structure in the period of the IPO process that may attract potential investors. The hypothesis testing is conducted with a multiple regression model including 100 observations from enterprises doing IPO listed on HOSE. The study results generate signals for the investors and regulators that the board of directors holds a strong negative influence on the underpricing process. Secondly, the level of the independent board of directors and stock exchange in itself has no significant impact on the underpricing process. Underpricing is one of the many anomalies of the stock exchanges that provide wrong signals for the market participants. Identifying stock prices that reflect their intrinsic value is an ongoing debate among scholars, investors, and other market participants. -
This study examines the connectedness between the number of COVID-19 cases in Thailand and trading value among investors in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Daily data of COVID-19 cases and trading value were sourced from the Thailand ministry of public health and the Stock Exchange of Thailand, from January 12, 2020 to May 11, 2021. This study applies a multiple linear regression analysis to explain the relationship between variables. Empirical evidence clearly shows that the volatility of trading value was affected by COVID-19's new, confirmed, and deaths cases within the first pandemic period more than during the second pandemic period. Nevertheless, during the third pandemic period there is no evidence that the new, confirmed, and deaths cases significantly influenced trading value. Furthermore, the results show that COVID-19's new and deaths cases have a negative coefficient that indicated the trading value-buy/sell decreased in response to COVID-19's new and deaths cases, whereas the confirmed COVID-19 cases have a positive coefficient that indicated the trading value-buy/sell increased in response to COVID's confirmed cases. In summary, this study suggests that the number of COVID-19 cases have a significant impact on the trading value in the short term more than in the intermediate and long term.

This study aims to examine whether symmetric effects or asymmetric effects of exchange rates exist in determining the money demand in Indonesia. Simple-sum money and Divisia money were included in different models for comparison due to the financial developments in Indonesia. This study uses time-series data from 1996Q1 to 2019Q4 for the estimation. The nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model is utilized to verify the asymmetric effects of exchange rates on money demand. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillips-Perron unit root tests were performed to verify the order of integration of the variables. The findings of this study revealed that the exchange rate is one of the most important determinants of money demand in Indonesia and the effect is asymmetric. The findings further indicated that money demand function, which incorporates Divisia monetary aggregate is parsimonious. Monetary targets such as money supply and interest rates are critical for monetary policy conduct to achieve inflation levels set by government. As the adoption of an inflation targeting framework needs to be in keeping with the flexible exchange rate system, the asymmetric effect of exchange rate changes can be used in exchange rate policy conduct to achieve financial system and price stability. -

This study discusses the influence of economic factors on the clothing exports from China and 15 South and Southeast Asian countries to the United States. A basic gravity trade model with three predictors, including the GDP value produced by exporting and importing countries and their geographical distance was established to explain the bilateral trade patterns. The conventional approach of multiple regression and the novel approach of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) were developed based on the value of clothing exports from 2012 to 2018 and applied to the trade pattern prediction of 2019. The results showed that ANNs can achieve a more accurate prediction in bilateral trade patterns than the commonly-used econometric analysis of the basic gravity trade model. Future studies can examine the predictive power of ANNs on an extended gravity model of trade that includes explanatory variables in social and environmental areas, such as policy, initiative, agreement, and infrastructure for trade facilitation, which are crucial for policymaking and managerial consideration. More research should be conducted for the examination of the balance between developing countries' economic growth and their social and environmental sustainability and for the application of more advanced machine-learning algorithms of global trade flow examination. -
Government expenditure on education has attracted much attention because it plays an important role in the economic development. The question is whether government expenditure on education has a positive or negative impact on the economic growth and vice versa. This study aims to provide reliable estimates of the relationship between government expenditure on education and economic growth with empirical evidence in Vietnam for the period 2006-2019. The data was taken from the official statistics of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam. The authors have used the VAR model and Granger causal model to determine the relationship between government expenditure on education and the economic growth. Research results show that there is a two-way nexus between the economic growth and government spending on education with a lag of about two years. From the results obtained from this research, the authors have made some policy suggestions for the Vietnamese government as how to increase investment for education. If there is a one-way causal relationship between expenditure on education and the economic growth, the government can use spending as a growth factor. However, if there is a bi-directional relationship between the government expenditure on education and the GDP growth, the government needs to ensure that resources are appropriately managed and allocated effectively to promote growth.

This research (1) examines the effect of stock ownership structure on capital structure; (2) explains the effect of stock ownership structure on corporate value; and (3) investigates the influence of capital structure on corporate value. This research is categorized as a quantitative research, which is directed to test various theories. In this study, the population of all consumption companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) consist of 38 companies. Population data in this study are all consumption companies, which have gone public in the period from 2010 to 2015. In this study, given the objectives and problem formulation and hypothesis, the analysis method used is Generalized Structural Component Analysis (GSCA). Ownership structure has a significant effect on capital structure; ownership structure has no significant effect on corporate value; capital structure has a significant effect on corporate value; corporate value has a significant effect on capital structure. Previous research found different results. Some researchers found a positive relationship and other researchers found a negative relationship, and there are studies that found both significant and non-significant effects. The inconsistency of previous research results prompted the researchers to examine the effect of ownership structure on capital structure and corporate value. -

This study aims to identify the elasticities and casualties of financial performance and determinants of the mining and extractive companies listed in Jordan's stock market over the 2005-2018 period. The conceptual framework is based on the Resource-Based View theory and Arbitrage Pricing theory is used to describe the relationship between the external environment and the financial performance of the companies. Profitability ratio (return on assets) is utilized as a proxy of financial performance measurement. Meantime, the company's characteristics, macroeconomic variables, and non-economic factors are utilized as independent factors. Data sources are panel data set for mining and extractive companies over the above period. Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS), Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS), and Pooled Mean Group (PMG) methods are applied. The empirical findings indicated that company size, sales growth, financial leverage, liquidity, and GDP growth were the critical determinants of mining and extractive companies' financial performance in the Amman Stock Exchange. Thus, the findings conclude that company characteristics and GDP growth mainly drive financial performance. Moreover, the findings reveal that a bidirectional causal elasticity exists between GDP and financial leverage and return on assets (ROA). Sound financial performance can be obtained by paying more attention to GDP growth and firms' characteristics. -

State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) are business entities that are owned mainly by the state. Good financial governance (GFG) is as important for SOEs as for the private sector companies. Prudence and GFG can affect the value of the company. This research aims to test the impact of macroeconomics, investment decisions, and financing decisions on prudence, Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure (CSRD), dividend policy, and company value of SOEs registered on the IDX from 2014-2019. GFG and financing decisions are moderating variables. The population in this study is 16 SOEs listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2014-2019. The research method is quantitative and uses Partial Least Squares (PLS), which is an approach to Structural Equation Models (SEM) that allows researchers to analyze the relationships simultaneously. The results showed that macroeconomic factors, investment decisions, financing decisions, and prudence directly affect the company's value. However, CSRD and dividend policy directly do not affect the company's value. Prudence can mediate the influence of financing decisions on company value. GFG moderates the relationship between prudence and company value. Thus, GFG is key to producing compliant regulatory reports and disclosures. GFG aims at facilitating effective monitoring and efficient control of the business. Its essence lies in fairness and transparency in operations and enhanced disclosures for protecting the interest of different stakeholders. -
This study seeks to examine the effects of fraud management accounting on organizational value creation of listed firms in Thailand through internal audit function and internal audit effectiveness as the mediators of the study. In addition, governance culture and digital capability are hypothesized to affect fraud management accounting, internal audit function, and internal audit effectiveness. The 297 listed firms in Thailand are the samples of the study. The structural equation model is applied to test the research relationships. The results of the study indicate that, firstly, fraud management accounting has an effect on internal audit function, internal audit effectiveness, and organizational value creation. Secondly, internal audit function affects both internal audit effectiveness and organizational value creation. It also mediates the fraud management accounting-organizational value creation relationships. Thirdly, internal audit effectiveness affects organizational value creation and it mediates the fraud management accounting-organizational value creation relationships. Finally, governance culture affects fraud management accounting, internal audit function and internal audit effectiveness. This study aims to examine and measure the impact of capital structure on the profitability of companies in emerging markets. The research sample includes eighteen rubber companies listed on the Vietnam stock exchange from 2015-2019. After collecting the research data, it was imported into excel to calculate the criteria for the research model. By using Stata 16 software, the study selected a data processing model and evaluated the relevance of the regression analysis model. The research results show that the profitability of listed rubber companies in Vietnam (measured by return on equity (ROE) has a positive relationship with the debt-to-asset ratio but has a negative relationship with the long-term debt-to-asset ratio. The results also show a positive impact of firm size and revenue growth on profitability while liquidity and the ratio of tangible fixed assets to total assets do not affect significantly. These results are consistent with most of the previously published studies. However, in contrast to many previous studies, our study shows that the long-term debt-to-assets ratio has a negative effect on profitability while the debt-to-asset ratio has a positive effect. This is entirely consistent with the characteristics of long-term debt use in emerging markets. -
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of credit risk on commercial banks' profitability in Afghanistan. Due to the availability of limited data, this study applies the Fixed Effects estimator on balance panel data of six domestic private commercial banks over the period 2014-2018. The study uses LLRTL, TLTA, and TLTD as credit risk indictors, size as bank-specific determinant, ROAA, ROAE, and NIM as profitability indicators. The study finds a robust negative and significant effect of LLRTL on ROAA, and ROAE, but positive and insignificant on NIM. The results also reveal significant positive effect of TLTA on NIM, however insignificant negative on ROAA while insignificant positive on ROAE. The study finds negative effect of TLTD on ROAA, ROAE, and NIM, but only significant on NIM. Further, this study reveals a robust negative and significant effect of size on all profitability indicators. The mean comparison of profitability demonstrates that NIM is in a better situation than others profitability indicators, which is a good sign for the Afghan banking sector. The findings of this study suggest that improving credit management, increasing efficiency of asset management or effectiveness of business model can increase commercial banks' profitability in Afghanistan.

A responsibility center is important for businesses in controlling their business activities. A responsibility center accounting includes a structured system for dividing responsibilities to help assess activities to improve economic efficiency for businesses. The article is based on exploratory factor analysis using the ordinary least squares to test the model of the factors affecting the application of responsibility center accounting in Vietnamese enterprises. The article uses data including 482 samples of 200 Vietnamese enterprises such as CFOs, chief accountants, and accountants. The sample was selected randomly to ensure objectivity in the period 2020-2021. The research results show that there are three factors that have a positive impact on the application of responsibility center accounting of Vietnamese enterprises, including the qualifications and capabilities of managers, decentralization in management, and evaluation tools of the responsibility center accounting. In order to contribute to improving efficiency in the application of the responsibility center accounting for Vietnamese enterprises, leaders of Vietnamese enterprises need to raise awareness and professional qualifications, pay attention to the management level in a transparent and appropriate way to delineate and diversify the tools used to facilitate and achieve business performance.

The largest source of revenue in Indonesia comes from the taxation sector. Taxes increase the state revenue, which the government utilizes for building public facilities and infrastructures, providing subsidies to the public, financing public interests, and so on. In addition to producing revenue, taxes may be used to promote economic stability. Thus, this study aims to examine and analyze the financial aspects of tax aggressiveness. The financial aspects include leverage, capital intensity, inventory intensity, and earning management. The population used in this study was manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2016-2019 period. Data analysis was carried out based on Eviews, with a selected sample of 32 companies of four observation years. Therefore, the number of samples was 128. The results of this study revealed that the best estimation model to use is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). This study proved that leverage and earning management had a positive and significant effect on tax aggressiveness. In contrast, capital intensity and inventory intensity did not affect tax aggressiveness. In addition, the result of this study is still far from perfect. It is, therefore, hoped that further research can add other variables to find better results. -

This study aims to find out and measure the level of factors affecting the applicability of environmental management accounting (EMA) in Vietnamese automobile industry enterprises. Data was collected using both quantitative and qualitative methods. First, in general research, qualitative methodology was used to find out factors (variables) that can impact the possibility of implementing EMA in Vietnamese automobile enterprises. Second, in detailed research, all variables are measured using a quantitative method by collecting data through sampling and sending questionnaires. 500 questionnaires were sent to automobile enterprise managers and only 352 questionnaires met the criteria for the data analysis. The study used a mixed research design approach- a procedure for collecting, analyzing, and "mixing" both quantitative and qualitative research and methods in a single study to understand the research problem. Results show that 7 factors affect the possibility of implementing EMA in Vietnamese automobile industry enterprises. These factors are coercive pressure, normative pressure, mimetic pressure, business environmental uncertainty, environmental strategy, benefits when applying EMA, and task complexity. Based on the results of the study, promoting EMA in the automotive industry should depend mainly on the role of governmental departments. -
Audit quality encompasses the key elements that create an environment that maximizes the likelihood that quality audits are performed consistently. This study aimed to identify the impact of auditing quality on the market value of the manufacturing companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). The analytical method was adopted in this research to extract and collect the necessary data. This study hypothesizes that audit quality leads to an increase in the market value by the offering of high-quality services. The study used the panel data approach to analyze cross-sectional data for 41 industrial companies that included time series data for the period (2019-2019). To test its hypotheses, the study used the fixed-effect model. The study found that the audit quality factors (audit office size, client retention period, auditor's fees, and linking with international audit offices) did not have a significant impact on market value. It found also the positive impact of the audit office size on the market value of the listed companies on the ASE for the period from 2009 to 2019. The study recommended the management of the company realize the importance of contracting with audit offices of large size and good reputation because these offices are more capable of increasing their efficiency, qualifying their employees, and thus be fully prepared for the audit process efficiently and effectively.

This study examines the association between a firm's business strategy and audit report lags. This study employs 5,072 firm-year observations from 2015 to 2019. Our sample comprises all of the firms listed on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) market and Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotation (KOSDAQ). We perform OLS regression analysis to test our hypothesis. The OLS regression analysis was conducted through the SAS and STATA programs. We find that business strategy is positively associated with audit report lags. Especially, we find that defender firms are negatively associated with audit report lags. The findings of this study suggest that prospector-like firms would increase their performance uncertainty as well as audit risk. Therefore, prospector-like firms interfere with the efficient audit procedures of auditors. On the other hand, our findings indicate that defender-like firms would decrease their performance uncertainty as well as an audit risk because they focus on simple product lines and cost-efficiency. For this reason, auditors will be able to carry out the audit procedures much more easily. Our results present that a prospector-like business strategy degrades audit effectiveness as it exacerbates a company's financial risk, willingness to accept uncertainty, and the complexity of organizational structure.

The purpose of this research is to examine and analyze the effect of Relationship Marketing on service quality and customer loyalty, especially in the context of the retail industry. In retail industry, Relationship Marketing is the key to increase and maintain a large pool of customers. This research was conducted in North Sulawesi Province with a sample size of 155 supermarket customers. The sampling technique used for the study is the purposive sampling. Data was analyzed using SEM based on GeSCA components. The results showed that Relationship Marketing had a significant positive effect both on service quality and customer loyalty. The commitment, communication, conflict handling, and competence play an important role in improving service quality which ultimately makes customers loyal. In addition, the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty, also has significant positive findings. These findings are in line with the concept of SERVQUAL and The Commitment-Trust Theory. The implication of the managerial research is that supermarket managers in North Sulawesi must focus and emphasize more on the Relationship Marketing dimension especially in terms of commitment, communication, conflict handling, and competence. Once these factors can be met, the quality of service will increase, and it causes an increase in customer loyalty to shop more at the supermarket. -

The financial technology sector is now growing rapidly all over the world, and it has improved the banking system efficiency and customer experience. This research study attempts explicitly to explore the consumer acceptance attitude of FinTech and its products in Pakistan. Technology Acceptance Model was used to assess the entire variable associated with the consumer attitude to adopt new technology. Based on a survey conducted from Pakistan data and by employing the multiple regression analysis, this study proves that the risk involved in FinTech products and services results in less usage of financial technology. The findings of the study also show that the risk should be reduced if banks and other institutes that are involved in financial transactions online must provide security. Moreover, customers are not willing to pay an extra amount for using financial technology. It argues that usefulness helps to change the attitude of banking customers to use financial technology. The attitudes of the customers have a positive relationship with the adoption of financial technology. These results also help guide financial institutions to enhance the adoption of FinTech products. User attitudes must be changed by providing users with more security, less risky applications, and cost-effective products. -

The study investigates the impact of strategic planning (SP) factors on service quality (SQ) in private universities (PUs) in Oman and how they fit together in the development of higher education institutions (HEIs). The reports of the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) in Oman revealed that the service quality in private universities is unsatisfactory. This study employs a quantitative method. Data were collected from a sample of 730 academics and administrators. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on AMOS software was applied for data analysis. The results of the structural paths showed that, among the strategic planning factors, only environmental scanning and leadership had a direct significant impact on service quality. However, mission statement and participation had insignificant direct impact on service quality. The findings suggest that environmental scanning and leadership are critical factors in predicting service quality dimensions of private universities. The findings add to the body of knowledge particularly in the Omani context, which can be useful in the neighboring countries as well. The study combines two different popular models in addressing service quality. The study also clarified the importance of each factor of the strategic planning process, which give a comprehensive picture of the university. -

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which began in 2020, had a significant impact on the economy and business activities worldwide. Large companies, as well as small businesses were affected, many of them had to scale down or divert their businesses, and some even had to stop. This extraordinary situation requires business people to make innovations and adjustments to survive during a pandemic. Entering the digital era, business players are helped by the ease of internet access, which will make it easier for SME players to get data from their consumers. Business actors can use this data to innovate and create new creations to improve business performance during this pandemic. This research aims to identify how small and medium enterprises can take advantage of Big Data to improve marketing performance through innovation and value creation. The research methodology used the in this research is quantitative method. The respondents are SME producers of food and beverage, with a total of 150 respondents. The results in the study indicate that all the proposed hypotheses are accepted. The most significant influence is found on the relationship of Big Data to value creation. The lowest effect was obtained from the relationship between Big Data and marketing performance through the mediation variable and innovation capability. -
In the era of tough competition, the customer's emotional attachment to brand plays a vital role to the successes and failures of enterprises. Specifically in the case of doing business online, brands have to cope with the troubles of rising from brand hate as brand avoidance, negative word of mouth and brand retaliation. Traditionally, the brand communication is very hard to control and with online communities, the problems tend to be even more severe. This paper aims to explore and discuss the core concept, the driven factors and the actionable consequences of brand hate among netizens. A total of 358 valid responses were obtained from surveys taken from the internet users across the nation. Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was conducted using Smart PLS to assess the hypotheses. The result shows that the expression of brand hate among netizen consists of active hate and passive hate. Deficit value, deceptive advertising, negative past experience and ideology incompatibility have been confirmed as influencing factors on customers' brand hate emotion. Then brand hate itself causes the customer's actionable outcomes such as brand avoidance, brand negative word of mouth and brand retaliation. Along with the theoretical contributions and managerial implications have been recommended for enterprises to avoid netizens' brand hate.

This study examined the effect of branding capability on business performance moderated by learning capability. This study was conducted with small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of coffee cafes in the ex-Besuki region, East Java, Indonesia, covering four regencies located around coffee-producing areas with geographical indication (GI) certification. 150 managers of coffee cafe were sampled using the census technique. Data were collected by questionnaires distributed to the coffee cafe managers. The data were then analyzed by using simple regression analysis, Moderation Regression Analysis (MRA) and Moderated MultiGroup Analysis (MMA). The results showed that learning capability positively and significantly affect business performance, and learning capability moderated/enhanced the effect of branding capability on business performance. The findings of this study suggest that branding capability and learning capability play a crucial role in the performance of coffee cafe business especially in the dynamic environment. Coffee cafe managers need to take concrete steps to improve their branding capability and learning capability and they also need to improve their ability to interact with their environment and be committed in managing the coffee cafe. Therefore, it is imperative that the role of branding capability and learning capability be optimized in order to improve the business performance of the coffee cafe. -

This study aims to analyze the mediating influences of resonance-based self-attitude and brand credibility in a relationship between celebrity endorser credibility and celebrity endorser congruity toward brand purchase intention in the current dynamic business environment. It employs a quantitative research method and reports on a survey, using a questionnaire, including the population of consumers of various instant coffee brands in several cities in Indonesia. The number of respondents in this study was 432 people. The analysis was performed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling and SmartPLS software. The analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, evaluation of the measurement model, evaluation of the structural model, and hypothesis testing. The results partially support the model developed. The findings suggest that the instant coffee product advertising in Indonesia needs to create brand messages focusing on the formation of resonance-based self-attitude from consumers to increase the influence of celebrity endorser credibility and celebrity endorser congruity, as well as the brand credibility towards the brand purchase intention. This study contributes to the marketing literature and the theory of planned behavior by providing empirical evidence on the relationship between celebrity endorser credibility, celebrity endorser congruity, resonance-based self-attitude, brand credibility, and brand purchase intention. -

This study aims to identify the effect of blue ocean leadership style on strategic decision making and it also aims to examine the mediating role of organizational politic and moderating role of emotional intelligence in the Government Link Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia. In order to achieve the objective of the study, a research framework had been developed to establish a relationship among the variables of the study based on resource-based view theory. Questionnaire method was used to collect the data form middle to top level employees in GLCs. All the items in the study's variables were assessed using the 5-point Likert scale. A stratified random sampling technique was used to identify the sample for this study. Data was derived from 135 middle to top level employees, which were involved in decision making process. The data was analyzed using the SPSS and the SmartPLS 3.0 software. This supplemented the theory surrounding blue ocean leadership styles and strategic decision making. The study also identified several avenues for further research by using different research methods and examining the impact of strategic decision making in different contexts. -
The study aims to explore the empirical effect of social intelligence, integrity, self-efficacy, and affective commitment on job satisfaction, and also to prove the theoretical model regarding affective commitment as a mediator between social intelligence, integrity, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction. This research uses a quantitative approach to the survey method through a Likert scale model questionnaire. The questionnaire for all research variables is reliable with an alpha coefficient > 0.7. The research participants are comprised of 386 teachers in Indonesia selected by accidental sampling. Data analysis uses path analysis supported by descriptive statistics and correlational matrices. The research results indicate that social intelligence, integrity, self-efficacy, and affective commitment have a significant effect on job satisfaction. Besides, affective commitment also indirectly mediates the effect of social intelligence, integrity, and self-efficacy on job satisfaction. Thus, a new model regarding the effect of social intelligence, integrity, and self-efficacy on job satisfaction mediating by affective commitment was confirmed. The research suggested that the teachers' job satisfaction can improve through social intelligence, integrity, self-efficacy, and affective commitment. Therefore, researchers and practitioners can adopt a new empirical model to enhance job satisfaction through social intelligence, integrity, self-efficacy, and affective commitment in the future.

The objectives of this research are to establish and confirm the human resources competency components for listed companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The sample group used in this research includes the company president, business owner, managing director, assistant managing director, general manager or human resources manager of 140 listed companies. The research instrument is a scale-estimated questionnaire. The obtained data were subjected to principal component analysis and were analyzed for the rotation of the perpendicular component using the Varimax method. Results were generated through the analysis of eight components, consisting of decision-making, creativity, strategic thinking, relationship and communication, teamwork, adaptability, self-management, and motivation. The research results demonstrate important components in human resource performance that are critical to the successful development of organizations. Organizations can apply these components to the development of human resource competencies in accordance with the operations that need to be adjusted to suit the changes that occur. These rapidly-changing conditions are important factors that can be studied and developed into variables and components that affect human resource performance in the future. As a result, organizations need to adjust to be well prepared to face problems and challenges in the harsh competitive environment in the future. -
Job crafting refers to changes that individuals make in their work to achieve their preferences and needs. Contingent on the social exchange theory, the aim of this study is to explore the relationship between job crafting and job performance. In addition, the study examines the mediating effect of social capital in the relationship between job crafting and job performance. The data was collected from 387 employees in Vietnamese industrial enterprises through a questionnaire survey using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The information was then analyzed by explanatory factor analysis (EFA) confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) as well as structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that all three dimensions of job crating positively affect job performance and that social capital plays a mediating role in that relationship. This study contributes to the field of human resources management, particularly job crafting, by examining different dimensions of job crafting that impacts job performance. Moreover, this is the first study to test the mediating role of social capital on the relationship between job crafting and job performance. These insights may help the organizational managers to encourage beneficial job crafting.

This study seeks to empirically investigate the impact of transformational leadership on employees' innovation with the mediating effect of technological diversity. Employees have evolved into leaders in organizing work within institutions over the last few decades. This shift presents new demands for leaders, who are forced to reinvent individual workers while also improving workplace innovation. This research proposes a conceptual model for considering transformational leadership and the impact of technological diversity on innovation. Structured questionnaire is used in the study and the analysis of the data from 633 employees of universities in the United Arab Emirates uses stratified sampling technique and hypotheses verified through Structural Equations Modelling (AMOS-21). According to the results, transformational leadership has a big effect on employees' innovation. Furthermore, in the relationship between transformational leadership and workforce innovation, technological diversity has a partial mediation impact. This research adds to the growing body of knowledge about how transformational leadership influences employees' innovation and how it affects employees' success, especially in the context of UAE-based universities. Overall, this research contributes to the previous studies wherein transformational leadership plays a critical role in influencing the innovative performance of employees and that, in turn, will promote diversification of technology in the organization. -

House ownership is considered as one of the important pre-conditions for marriage in China. Given that gender imbalance is a prominent issue in the country, competition for marriage partners might motivate males to look for a house and probably bigger and more expensive house. This is believed to have caused house price hikes in recent years. This study aims to investigate the impact of gender imbalance on house prices using data from 30 provinces in China for the 2000-2017 period. The results based on the generalized method of moments (GMM) estimations show that house price is strongly influenced by gender imbalance. However, there is no evidence to support differential effects across eastern and mid-western regions. One potential reason is that pre-marriage house ownership has become a common culture for the whole community and therefore it does not vary significantly across regions. There are several important policy implications. Firstly, the issues should be addressed by the policymakers at national level and not regional level. Secondly, the government should intervene to bring back gender ratio to its normal level. Finally, the government should limit the number of houses people can buy and increase the supply of houses in the market.
