The aims of this study are as following. 1) To investgate information-search and evaluating alternatives of middle-aged wives in buying townwears as well as to examine socio-demographic variables physical varialbes and psychological variables and their influences on. 2) To compare the previous study (a study on problems recognition of mjiddle-aged wives in buying townwears) with this study and to relate this results ot previous study results. The data used in this study included 374 housewives living in Seoul and Pusan. Statistics used for data analysis were frequencies means standard deviation Pearson's correlation t-test Oneway ANOVA stepwise multiple regression analysis. major findings are as follows. 1. The degree of information-search and evaluating alternative proved more than middle point. 2. Variables that affect information-search and evaluating alternatives and three : attitude towards purchasing experience of menopause preference for expensive clothes.

The stdy of this study is to explore whether there is a social class difference in the relationship of mother and daughter-in-laws. The findings and summarized as follows. in the upper class the relationship of mother and daughter-in-laws seems 'fictitious one' In the middle class when her husband's occupation status is higher than his father's the relationship of mother and daughter-in-laws seems 'the relationship which is trobultesome only on daughter-in-law's behalf. When her husbands' occupation status is similar to his father's and her family is living together with in-laws and she and her mother-in=law are housewives the relationship of mother and daughter-in-laws seems 'the troublesome relationship for the both parts of mother and daughter-in-laws' In the same situation as above except the fact that the mother-in-law is housewife and daughter-in-law working the relationship between mother and daugther-in-laws seems apper to be 'interdependence' When her husband is self- mployed the daughter-in-laws keeps the interdepen-dent relationship with the mother-in-law. In the low class the relationship of mother and daughter-in-laws seems 'neglect' or 'conflicting'.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between time perception and information search behavior of consumers. Data were obtained from 380 married people living in Seoul: 141 men and 239 women. Time perception was identified in two ways: one with time pressure and the other with time inclination, Information search behavior divided into three parts: search time search activity and content search. The results of this research indicated that there were significant relationship between consumer's time perception and each of information search behavior. The results of this study can be attributed to develop the efficient information search be attributed to dvelop the efficient information search behavior of consumers and to understand time perception variables related the consumer search behavior.

In the traditional rural community social relationships among the people are the routes of resources. But as industrialization goes on rural community has changed. I wonder that rural housewives have yet the traditional social network structure. This stud purposed to analyze the structure of social network resource exchange and perception of community resources. Results were as follows: 1. In the rural housewife's social network structure network range and depth were affected by family income age of the youngest and farming time. Network boundary was affected by near environmental variables such as community resources and community level of living. 2. Community resources was the most influential variable in the resource exchanged 3. Perception of community resources was affected by network depth and was not by the resource exchange.

As the ancestral rites is one of ritural ceremony in our country it's tradition have performed to-day. The purpose of this research of this research is to study both filial piety as a thought of worshipping ancestors and the traditional ancestral ceremony through examinition of 「kyung-mong-yokyul」provide the basic materials for the practice of the filial piety and contribute to the morals of life and the culture of home life in nodern society. Also through it's litereture it is to research the forms of ancestral ceremony (time place, memorial dress, foods, etc) in the traditional society and the responsibility of acting ancestral rites at home life. According to 「kyung-mong-yokyul」on ancestral rites it stressed on the true heart rather than unrational materialistic courtesy. And the ancestral rites in the family system of traditional socity was the most important things in among practices at home especially the host(the eldest son and the eldest daughter in family) who hol this ceremony played a important roles.

This study aims ai the extraction of what is universally to be taught in modern Korean Families and its scalization. That is, it attempts to provide the criterion by which we can determine what to teach adolescent in the family, not in society or school. For this purpose, this study firstly reviews the preceeding studies on the subject. As a result of the review, we postulate the hypothetical structure consisting of 11 domains. Secondary, we gather the parent's view on the topic by interviewing 496 parents with teenagers. On the basis of this study, we can construct the questionnaire(Likert scale; 5 point). After we conduct an extensive empirical research(346 parents) in order to generalize 195 items of the workedout questionnaire. We apply factor analysis(principal axis factoring, oblique (promax) rotation) in the verification of the validity. As the consequence, we select 66 items consisting, 10 factors, which explain 68% of common variance. We name the 10 educational factors extracted in the scale as follows ; The Sense of Value, Communal Society, Sex, Esteem for an ancestor & a traditional way of life, Parent-Child Relationship, the Culture life within the family, The Guide of Learning Way, Setting up the way of life, The control of one's life, Friendship. The reliability of the scale is the cronbach =0.91 which turns out to be satisfactory.

The purpose of this study were to examine the relationship among the planning implementing and satisfaction on home education and the soundness of home life. The samples were composed of 629 parents(home educators) selected by family life cycle and local distribution. Consequently the findings of this study were that planning have a significant effect on implementing on home education. Also implementing have a more significant effect on soundness of home life than satisfaction on home education.

The purpose of this study is to explore systemetically what makes working women continue or interrupt their job after childbirth, An empirical survey was conducted by using questionnaire and data from 194 women who had clerical job before first childbirth. The major findings are as follows : (1) The significant differences between the two groups are caused by family orientation, motherhood, average monthly wage of her own, emotional support, child carer in the family, maternal policy. (2) The probability of continuing job is higher when the public supports are offered to working married women than in case of being supported privately.

This study was intended to measure variations in attachment styles and personal relations through the Sociodrama, There were three purposes in this study. The first was to verify the contiuance of attachment between parents and adolescents. The second was to find the difference of personal relations and self-esteem according to the different attachment styles. finally the third was to prove the therapeutic effects of sociodrama. The results were as follows: 1. In terms of attachment style 19% of the subjects were insecurity style 9.5% avoidance style and 74.1% security style. 2. The contents of Sociodrama were the daily happenings between parents and adolescent children and among siblings and friends. Every subject said that the Sociodrama helped him to shape his internal self to understand others and to realize the importance of parental roles. 3. The avoidance group became insecure after the Sociodrama because of their distinctive traits. The secure feelings of security grou also decreased due to their developmental character-individuation. 4. The comparison of the two post-tests revealed that the attachment style of the avoidance group has parents was observed as well. 5. The Sociodrama is assumed to be effective in the changes of adolescents' abnormal and insecure attachment and personal relations into a normal and secure state., In conclusion results of the study verified this assumption of the effectiveness of the sociodrama and it's longterm effects.

Researches found that the attitude of adult married children played an important role for the satisfaction and stability of the elderly remarriage. Therefore this study focused on the children's perception of the elderly remarriage. The results were as follows: Sex was found to be influential to elderly remarriage. Males were more positive than females. The degree of sex-stereotyping and supporting experience of the elderly parents were found to influence on children's perception. adult children positively perceived elderly remarriage as giving emotional satisfaction mutual-dependence and liveliness or freedom of later life. Meanwile they negatively considered elderly remarriage mainly because of traditional public attitudes toward remarriage difficulties of adaptation with step-familes and financial or legal conflicts. Adult children regarded health character financial independence and children's agreement level as the most considerate factors whereas the elderly the adaptati n among step-family members marital adaptaion and public attitudes toward their remarriage.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of perceived adequacy resource(PAR) and locus of control on the stress from the family resources management in housewives. The subjects of this study were 474 married women who lived in apartment in Taegu, . A questionaire was used as survey method. Factor analysis and MANOVA were employed for data analysis and Scheffe test for post-hoc analysis, . The main findings were ; First the effect of PAR on the degree of the stress from the family resources management was not different according to locus of control. Second the stress from the family resource management was found to be significantly different according to PAR.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the later personality adjustment types and the elderly percepted conflict with their married children. The subjects for this study are the aged over 60 years in Seoul both having the eldest sons' couples and perceiving their own economics level as the middle-upper. The results based on this are as followed: 1) The Active Integrated Coper is appeared in the higher educational level group in the better health condition in the 11-30 thousand won of personal expense in the professional and management occupation and in the more vigorous for social activity. The Failing Overcoper the Dependent Passive Coper and the Self-negating Undercoper is appeared in th female elder group in the later group of the older age in the lower educational level in the worse health condition in the group without spouse in one without income in the below 10 thousand won in the less preparation for the later life. 2) The problems of emotion and iew of values bring about the conflicts between them and theirs rather than the financial problem. when they are in the worse health condition in the group without religion in the group not cohabiting their eldest sons' couples and in the group not well-prepared for their later life as the socio-demographic variables the old recognized the seriousness of the conflict with their eldest sons' couples. 3) The lower the Active Integrated Coper is and the higher the Failing Overcoper is the more intense the conflict between them and their eldest sons' couples is. 4) The t-test to examine the difference in the old's conflict with their eldest sons' couples among the later groups shows that it is in the less the Active Integrated Coper and in the more the Failing Overcoper that the conflict is more surfaced. 5) The educational level the level of the later life preparation the contact frequency with their daughter the level of their social activity as the socio-demographic variables and the Failing Overcoper as the later personality adjustment type answer for 22 percentage of the conflict.

This study identifies the research-object of institutional household and differenciates the family resource management perspectives from the business administration perspectives in the area of management study. This study concludes : for the development of the advanced studies on 'institutional household management' in family resource management the theoretical investigations must be accompanied with the practical work for the enforcement of institutional household manager.

In this study the meaning of well-being and welfare of home has been analyzed and a new direction in which home economics should advance has been suggested, This study not only would help the characteristics of home economics be properly understood and its displinary position take its own place but also a conceptual analysis which might be uncommon in the studies of learned circles of Korean home economics would be a basis for establishing the uniqueness of the discipline named by home economics. Based on the critical theory of Habermas it has been demonstrated that well-being and welfare of home have been emphasized unfairly in the physical and technical aspects and such a partial pursuit of positivism and purposive rationality of scientific technology has resulted in the situation that home would be gradually encroached and controlled by the social system pursuing purposive rationality. As an alternative to overcome this kind of problems communicative rationality that has em hasis on the process of intersubjective understanding and agreement has been focused. The meaning of well-being and welfare of home has been established through the classification of family life actions in to technical action practical action and emancipatory action, And the characteristics of them have been examined and ideal directionns of each element have been discussed.

The purpose of this study was to find the relation between the home management behavior pattern and contribution to the family life of urban housewives and to find out variables which influence them. The samples were selected from 522 housewives with children more than one living in Seoul. The major findings were: 1) In the housewives the degree of education of resourcefulness recognition and of communication were high home management behavior pattern was relatively morphogensis. 2) Influential variables on contribution to the family were the level of education status of employment and as the home management behavior pattern was morphogensis. 3) The relative contribution of home management behavior pattern of contribution to the family was the highest among other variables ; socio-demographic and psychological variables.
