ON A GENERALIZED DIFFERENCE SEQUENCE SPACES DEFINED BY A MODULUS FUNCTION AND STATISTICAL CONVERGENCE

  • In this paper, we define the sequence spaces: $[V,{\lambda},f,p]_0({\Delta}^r,E,u),\;[V,{\lambda},f,p]_1({\Delta}^r,E,u),\;[V,{\lambda},f,p]_{\infty}({\Delta}^r,E,u),\;S_{\lambda}({\Delta}^r,E,u),\;and\;S_{{\lambda}0}({\Delta}^r,E,u)$, where E is any Banach space, and u = ($u_k$) be any sequence such that $u_k\;{\neq}\;0$ for any k , examine them and give various properties and inclusion relations on these spaces. We also show that the space $S_{\lambda}({\Delta}^r, E, u)$ may be represented as a $[V,{\lambda}, f, p]_1({\Delta}^r, E, u)$ space. These are generalizations of those defined and studied by M. Et., Y. Altin and H. Altinok [7].

  • Let {$X_{ni}$,1$\leq$i$\leq$,n$\geq$1} be an array of rowwise independent B-valued random variables which is uniformly bounded by a random various X satisfying $E|X|^{2p}<\infty$ for some p$\geq$1. Let {$a_{ni}$,1$\leq$i$\leq$,n$\geq$1} be an array of constants. Under some auxiliary conditions on {$a_{ni}$}, it is shown that $sum_{i=1}^n a_{ni}X_{ni}\rightarrow0$ in probability if and only if $sum_{i=1}^n a_{ni}X_{ni}$ converges completely ot 0.

  • A closed subspace J of a Banach space X is called an M-ideal in X if the annihilator $J^\perp$ of J is an L-summand of $X^*$. That is, there exists a closed subspace J' of $X^*$ such that $X^* = J^\perp \oplus J'$ and $\left\$\mid$ p + q \right\$\mid$ = \left\$\mid$ p \right\$\mid$ + \left\$\mid$ q \right\$\mid$$ wherever $p \in J^\perp and q \in J'$.

A mapping T between X and Y is called an ($\varepsilon$, p)-isometry if |∥T(x)-T(y)∥-∥x-y∥|$\leq$ $\varepsilon$∥x-y∥$^{p}$ for x, y$\in$X. Let H be a real Hilbert space and T : H longrightarrow H an ($\varepsilon$, p)-isometry with T(0) = 0. If p$\neq$1 is a nonnegative number, then there exists a unique isometry I : H longrightarrow H such that ∥T(x)-I(y)∥$\leq$ C($\varepsilon$)(∥x∥$^{ 1+p)/2}$+∥x∥$^{p}$ ) for all x$\in$H, where C($\varepsilon$) longrightarrow 0 as $\varepsilon$ longrightarrow 0.

  • Let G be a closed subspace of a Banach space X and let (S,$\Omega$,$\mu$) be a $\sigma$-finite measure space. It was known that $L_1$(S,G) is proximinal in $L_1$(S,X) if and only if $L_p$(S,G) is proximinal in $L_p$(S,X) for 1$\infty$. In this article we show that this result remains true when "proximinal" is replaced by "Chebyshev". In addition, it is shown that if G is a proximinal subspace of X such that either G or the kernel of the metric projection $P_G$ is separable then, for 0 < p $\leq$ $\infty$. $L_p$(S,G) is proximinal in $L_p$(S,X)

  • In this paper, we study a generalization of the Banach space B($l_2$) of all bounded linear operators on $l_2$. Over this space, we present some reasonable ways to define Schatten-type classes which are generalizations of the classical Schatten classes of compact operators on $l_2$.
