Parents are one of the principal agents of education along with students and teachers. The father, who is also a member of the educational community, plays a role in and has responsibility for his children's education. But, in Korea, as mothers are largely responsible for the children's care and education, fathers' school involvement has not been treated as a research subject. However, changes in family structure and function have challenged the notion of the father's traditional role. Recently, the father who participates actively in the rearing and education of his child has emerged as a new trend of the father model. It has been proven through many studies that the father's involvement has unique positive effects on his children, a phenomenon known as the "father effect". This research investigates the father's school involvement through focus group interviews with fathers. The results showed that the father's school participation rate was not high, while the father's desire for school participation was very high. These results are explained by the situation of fathers having no time or pathway to participate in their children's school. In order to enable fathers' participation, leave for school participation needs to be implemented and the development of fathers' activities is necessary. A father education program is needed to bring about changes resulting in fathers' greater participation in their children's education. This study suggests policy implications for supporting fathers' school involvement.

The consciousness of environmental education has increased for the last decades, and schools make efforts for education in the systematic environment. To keep pace with trends such as the open school and the open class, students, teachers and parents are actively participating in environmental education programs. By virtue of the development and widespread of social network services, the importance of SNS for an individual's social capital formation as well as people's act of sharing information is increasingly highlighted. However, there are still few empirical studies on successful formation of SNS, people's attitude towards participation in SNS, and the brisk act of sharing information in the SNS as yet. This study performed an analysis that, in terms of forming the successful SNS, people's attachment to the group in SNS induces the attitude towards the participation in SNS, and the information-sharing act on the basis of the socio-psychological theory. For this purpose, this study carried out empirical study by dividing the influential factors into the attachment to online group, and attachment to the members in SNS group on the basis of trust. This study set up the component factors in trust as high-dimensional factors, and used SPSS 18.0 and SmartPLS 2.0 as analysis tools. Analysis results confirmed that group formation in SNS and people's attachment to the group were significantly influence attitude towards participation in SNS as well as information sharing behavior. This result implies that group formation in SNS plays an important role in active use of SNS.
This study was conducted to explore the effect of the type of dashboard on online group discussion activities based on learning analysis. The experimental research was conducted among 51 learners from a university by dividing them into 2 groups. Group A provided participation and interaction dashboard, and group B provided the discussion topics and message type dashboard. First, pre-tests were conducted on attitudes toward computer writing and the level of motivation that could affect online discussion activities. Then the students participated three different topics of online group discussions. The participation and interaction data were automatically collected through the dashboard, and learning outcome data were collected through post-tests. The results showed level of participation in Group B (M=47.56, SD=2.37) that provided discussion topics and message type dashboard was significantly higher than the level of participation in Group A (M=38.13, SD=2.21) that provided participation and interaction dashboard. On the other hand, there were no differences in the level of interaction and learning outcomes. In future studies, we suggest that the dashboard effects based on the learners' characteristics should be carried out because the learners' characteristics may affect the use of the dashboard.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to demonstrate that non-participation of physical therapists on the political decision-making committee results in invasion of their interests. Methods: To demonstrate the effects, we analyzed the change of medical insurance score decided by the Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee between 2001 and 2012 years, focusing on medical examination as the interest of the participation group and physical therapy cost as interest of the non-participation group. Results: Total medical insurance cost increased by 23.72%, on average. Medical examination cost increased by 23.90% and 37.66% in medical examination for new and established patients, respectively. However, physical therapy cost was reduced by 5.01%. The medical examination cost for physical therapy without medical checkup increased by 2.62%. Conclusion: This study shows that the physical therapy cost, related on the interest of the non-participative group in the Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee, rather decreased while the total medical insurance cost increased. These findings demonstrate the invasion of the non-participative group on the Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee. Thus, aggressive participation in political decision-making committee is necessary in order to protect and increase rights and interests of Korean physical therapists.
