  • It is shown that $f:\mathbb{R}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}$ satisfies the following functional inequalities (0.1) ${\mid}f(x)+f(y){\mid}{\leq}{\mid}f(x+y){\mid}$, (0.2) ${\mid}f(x)+f(y){\mid}{\leq}{\mid}2f(\frac{x+y}{2}){\mid}$, (0.3) ${\mid}f(x)+f(y)-2f(\frac{x-y}{2}){\mid}{\leq}{\mid}2f(\frac{x+y}{2}){\mid}$, respectively, then the function $f:\mathbb{R}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}$ satisfies the Cauchy functional equation, the Jensen functional equation and the Jensen quadratic functional equation, respectively.

  • In this paper, we investigate the generalized Hyers-Ulam{Rasssias stability of the following Euler-Lagrange type quadratic functional equation $$f(ax+by+cz)+f(ax+by-cz)+f(ax-by+cz)+f(ax-by-cz)=4a^2f(x)+4b^2f(y)+4c^2f(z)$$.

  • In this paper, the problem on periodic solutions of the bidirectional associative memory neural networks with both periodic coefficients and periodic time-varying delays is discussed. By using degree theory, inequality technique and Lyapunov functional, we establish the existence, uniqueness, and global asymptotic stability of a periodic solution. The obtained results of stability are less restrictive than previously known criteria, and the hypotheses for the boundedness and monotonicity on the activation functions are removed.

  • We show the existence of at least four nontrivial critical points of the $C^{1,1}$ functional f on the Hilbert space $H=X_0{\oplus}X_1{\oplus}X_2{\oplus}X_3{\oplus}X_4$, $X_i$, i = 0, 1, 2, 3 are finite dimensional, with f(0) = 0 when two sublevel subsets, torus with three holes and sphere, of f link, the functional f satisfies sup-inf variatinal linking inequality on the linking subspaces, the functional f satisfies $(P.S.)_c$ condition, and $f{\mid}_{X_0{\oplus}X_4}$ has no critical point with level c. We use the deformation lemma, the relative category theory and the critical point theory for the proof of main result.

  • We determine the general solutions $f:\mathbb{R}^2{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}$ of the functional equation f(ux-vy, uy+v(x+y)) = f(x, y)f(u, v) for all x, y, u, $v{\in}\mathbb{R}$. We also investigate both bounded and unbounded solutions of the functional inequality ${\mid}f(ux-vy,uy+v(x+y))-f(x,y)f(u,v){\mid}{\leq}{\phi}(u,v)$ for all x, y, u, $v{\in}\mathbb{R}$, where ${\ph}:\mathbb{R}^2{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}_+$ is a given function.

  • Let H be a Hilbert space which is the direct sum of five closed subspaces $X_0,\;X_1,\;X_2,\;X_3$ and $X_4$ with $X_1,\;X_2,\;X_3$ of finite dimension. Let J be a $C^{1,1}$ functional defined on H with J(0) = 0. We show the existence of at least four nontrivial critical points when the sublevels of J (the torus with three holes and sphere) link and the functional J satisfies sup-inf variational inequality on the linking subspaces, and the functional J satisfies $(P.S.)^*_c$ condition and $f|X_0{\otimes}X_4$ has no critical point with level c. For the proof of main theorem we use the nonsmooth version of the classical deformation lemma and the limit relative category theory.
