  • We establish the existence, multiplicity and uniqueness of positive solutions to nonlocal boundary value systems with strongly coupled integral boundary condition by using the global continuation theorem and Banach's contraction principle.

  • We establish existence and bifurcation of global positive solutions for parametrized nonhomogeneous elliptic equations involving critical Sobolev-Hardy exponents and Hardy terms. The main approach to the problem is the variational method.

  • This paper looks into phase plane behavior of the solution near the positive steady-state for the system with prey density dependent response functions. The positive invariance and boundedness property of the solution to the objective model are proved. The existence result of a positive steady-state and asymptotic analysis near the positive constant equilibrium for the objective system are of interest. The results of phase plane analysis for the system are proved by observing the asymptotic properties of the solutions. Also some numerical analysis results for the behaviors of the solutions in time are provided.

  • In this paper, the Hermitian positive definite solutions of the matrix equation $X^s+A^*X-^tA=Q$, where Q is an $n{\times}n$ Hermitian positive definite matrix, A is an $n{\times}n$ nonsingular complex matrix and $s,t{\in}[1,{\infty})$ are discussed. We find a matrix interval which contains all the Hermitian positive definite solutions of this equation. Also, a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of these solutions is presented. Iterative methods for obtaining the maximal and minimal Hermitian positive definite solutions are proposed. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical examples.

  • We establish an existence result for a positive solution to the Schrödinger-type singular semipositone problem: $-{\Delta}u\,=\,V(x)u\,=\,{\lambda}{\frac{f(u)}{u^{\alpha}}}$ in Ω, u = 0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in ℝN , N > 2, λ ∈ ℝ is a positive parameter, V ∈ L(Ω), 0 < α < 1, f ∈ C([0, ∞), ℝ) with f(0) < 0. In particular, when ${\frac{f(s)}{s^{\alpha}}}$ is sublinear at infinity, we establish the existence of a positive solutions for λ ≫ 1. The proofs are mainly based on the sub and supersolution method. Further, we extend our existence result to infinite semipositone problems with mixed boundary conditions.

  • In this paper, we study the existence and nonexistence of solutions for a class of Hamiltonian strongly degenerate elliptic system with subcritical growth $$\left{\array{-{\Delta}_{\lambda}u-{\mu}v={\mid}v{\mid}^{p-1}v&&\text{in }{\Omega},\\-{\Delta}_{\lambda}v-{\mu}u={\mid}u{\mid}^{q-1}u&&\text{in }{\Omega},\\u=v=0&&\text{ on }{\partial}{\Omega},}$$ where p, q > 1 and Ω is a smooth bounded domain in ℝN, N ≥ 3. Here Δλ is the strongly degenerate elliptic operator. The existence of at least a nontrivial solution is obtained by variational methods while the nonexistence of positive solutions are proven by a contradiction argument.

  • In this paper, we consider the quasilinear elliptic system $\\div(|{\nabla}u|^{p-2}{\nabla}u)=u(a_1u^{m1}+b_1(x)u^m+{\delta}_1v^n),\;\\div(|{\nabla}_v|^{q-2}{\nabla}v)=v(a_2v^{r1}+b_2(x)v^r+{\delta}_2u^s)$, in $\Omega$ where m > $m_1$ > p-2, r > $r_1$ > q-, p, q $\geq$ 2, and ${\Omega}{\subset}R^N$ is a smooth bounded domain. By constructing certain super and subsolutions, we show the existence of positive blow-up solutions and give a global estimate.

  • This paper is concerned with the neutral impulsive functional differential equations $$\{{x'(t)\;+\;a(t)x(t)\;=\;f(t,\;x(t\;-\;\tau(t),\;x'(t\;-\;\delta(t))),\;a.e.\;t\;{\in}\;R, \atop {\Delta}x(t_k)\;=\;b_kx(t_k),\;k\;{\in}\;Z.$$ Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least three positive T-periodic solution are established. Our results generalize and improve the known ones. Some examples are presented to illustrate the main results.
