  • Applying the properties of Hadamard core for totally nonnegative matrices, we give new lower bounds of the determinant for Hadamard product about matrices in Hadamard core and totally nonnegative matrices, the results improve Oppenheim inequality for tridiagonal oscillating matrices obtained by T. L. Markham.

  • In the present investigation we consider Fekete-Szeg$\ddot{o}$ problem with complex parameter ${\mu}$ and also find upper bound of the second Hankel determinant ${\mid}a_2a_4-a^2_3{\mid}$ for functions belonging to a new class $S^{\tau}_{\gamma}(A,B)$ using Toeplitz determinants.

  • The D-optimal design criterion for precise parameter estimation in nonlinear regression analysis is called the determinant criterion because the determinant of a matrix is to be maximized. In this thesis, we derive the gradient and the Hessian of the determinant criterion, and apply a QR decomposition for their efficient computations. We also propose an approximate form of the Hessian matrix which can be calculated from the first derivative of a model function with respect to the design variables. These equations can be used in a Gauss-Newton type iteration procedure.

  • In this paper, we introduce and investigate a subclass ${\Im}_{\Sigma}({\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma})$ of analytic and bi-univalent functions of complex order in the open unit disk U in complex plane. Here, we obtain an upper bound for the second Hankel determinant of the functions belonging to this class. Moreover, several interesting conclusions of the results obtained here are also discussed.

  • The present paper deals with the upper bound of third order Hankel determinant for a certain subclass of analytic functions associated with Cardioid domain in the open unit disc E = {z ∈ ℂ : |z| < 1}. The results proved here generalize the results of several earlier works.

  • A normalized analytic function f is parabolic starlike if w(z) := zf' (z)/f(z) maps the unit disk into the parabolic region {w : Re w > |w - 1|}. Sharp estimates on the third Hermitian-Toeplitz determinant are obtained for parabolic starlike functions. In addition, upper bounds on the third Hankel determinants are also determined.

  • We see fundamental properties of the log-determinant α-divergence including the convexity of weighted geometric mean and the reversed sub-additivity under tensor product. We introduce a symmetrized divergence and show its properties including the boundedness and monotonicity on parameters. Finally, we discuss the barycenter minimizing the weighted sum of symmetrized divergences.

일부 대학병원 근로자의 파업성향과 파업참여 행동결정 요인 (Determinant Factors on the Strike among Hospital Laborer in Korea)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze determinant factor on the strike action among hospital laborer in Korea. We collected data for 10days from 12 to 22 July, 2013. This study was surveyed 405 laborer in university hospital was located in the Seoul city and Gyeonggi-do. It was found as follow. There was statistically significant difference in the strike propensity and sub-domain on the job dissatisfaction by sex, age, education, wedding, occupation, position, salary, number of years of employment, position in labor union for strike action(p<0.05). From the multiple regression analysis, it was found that determinant factor on the strike action was occupation, strike propensity(sense of duty, after vote, depend on compensation) which was statistically significant difference(p<0.05). As a result, we suggest that hospital administrator must solve the problem related welfare benefits and personnel system in university hospital for preventing strike.
