Effect of core exercise with swiss ball on sarcopenia index in agriculture older women (스위스볼을 이용한 코어 저항 운동이 농업 여성노인의 근감소증 지표에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate to effect of core exercise with swiss ball on sarcopenia index in agriculture older women. A total of 30 subjects(15 Ex group, 15 Con group, 65 over agriculture older woman) were participated in this study. Intervention group were assigned to performing a progressive core exercise training program for 12 weeks(2 time/week). Dependent variable were grip strength, chair stand, muscle mass, 4m gait speed, Timed up and go, and 400m walking. As a result were following. Grip strength was not significantly difference but chair stand was significantly difference in time. And muscle mass was significantly difference in groups. And 4m gait speed, Timed up and go and 400m walking were significantly difference in time. In conclusion, lower body muscle strength and short physical performance battery by muscle activating with core muscle strength training.

Effect of Peer Tutoring on Core Basic Nursing Skills for Nursing Students (간호학생의 핵심기본간호술에 또래교수법(Peer Tutoring)이 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study aim to test the effect of peer-tutoring program on the level of performance, confidence, learning satisfaction of nursing students in practicing core basic nursing skills. Methods: The subjects were 148 nursing students in C university from March to June 2016. The experimental group(n=75) taken in peer tutoring program and control group(n=73) learned the lecturer-guided practice. Results: In foley and nelaton catheterization, the score of performance, confidence and learning satisfaction of experiment group are higher than control group statistically. In PO medication, learning satisfaction of experiment group is higher than control group but performance and confidence are not different statistically. Conclusion: Using peer-tutoring program be effective for nursing students in improving the competency of core basic nursing skills partially and recommend to utilize for core nursing skills training.

The Effects of Self-directed Practice using Peer-tutoring on Confidence, Performance and Learning Satisfaction of Nursing Students in Practicing Core Nursing Skills (동료 교수학습이 핵심기본간호술 수행자신감, 숙련도와 학습만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest study was to test the effects of self-directed nursing practice using peer-tutoring, on the level of confidence, performance and learning satisfaction of nursing students in practicing core nursing skills. Methods: The data were collected from 80 junior nursing students at a nursing college in Daejeon before and after 3 weeks of intervention on practicing six core nursing skills, according to the highest order of priority. The subjects were divided into the peer-tutoring practice group (PTPG, n=40) and the lecturer-guided practice group (LGPG, n=40). The data were analyzed using mean, frequency, and t-test. Results: The PTPG scored statistically higher than the LGPG on the performance of 'indwelling urinary catheterization' and 'wearing protection equipment while entering quarantine room & disposing waste'. The PTPG scored statistically higher than the LGPG on the confidence of 'indwelling urinary catheterization' and 'inserting intravenous catheterization'. The PTPG scored statistically higher on learning satisfaction than LGPG. Conclusion: The results showed that self-directed nursing practice using peer-tutoring could be effective for nursing students in improving proficiency in core nursing skills and might be applied to core nursing skills training.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the types of recognition of core basic nursing skills of nursing students who have experienced clinical practice with Q methodology. The subjects of this study were 34 nursing students of graduate school who had clinical practice using 34 Q samples The data were analyzed by PC-QUAN program. As a result of the research, 1 type 'behavior - centered', core basic nursing is recognized to be performed correctly according to nursing situation, 2 types of 'future preparation type' are core nursing, And 3 types of 'dependent learning type' were categorized as recognizing that sufficient learning is required in school for accurate nursing practice. Analysis of each type will contribute to providing basic data for establishing an effective educational strategy.

The Effect of Core Program Exercise on Dynamic Balance of the Patient with Post-Stroke Hemiplegia (코어프로그램이 편마비환자의 동적 균형 감각에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze and to compare the difference and the change between dynamic balance exercise group and dynamic balance exercise with core program exercise group. Also, based on this data, to prescribe effective exercises for hemiplegic patients and the pubis in order to achieve more effective dynamic balance exercise rehabilitation and better dynamic balance exercise in the field of therapeutical exercise. Methods : Twenty subjects(Core program exercise plus Dynamic balance exercise group, CP: 10, Dynamic balance exercise group, NCP: 10) were chosen among hemiplegic patients. Measurements of dynamic balance were evaluated at initial presentation(pretest) and after 4, 8, 12 weeks'. Paired t-test and Repeated measured ANOVA was utilized to detect the mean difference between the groups. Results : Firstly, after 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' and 12 weeks' CP exercise and NCP exercise, there were all significant difference to increase dynamic balance (p<0.05). secondly, after 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' and 12 weeks' CP and NCP exercise, there was significant difference to increase dynamic balance more CP group than NCP group. Lastly, among 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' and 12 weeks' CP exercise, there was progressively significant difference to increase dynamic balance(p<0.05). Conclusions : This study showed that dynamic balance exercise with core program exercise is an effective treatment strategy for hemiplegic patients than dynamic balance exercise rehabilitation.

Influence Factors of Critical Thinking Disposition and Core Basic Nursing Skills Achievement on Clinical Competence in Nursing Students (간호학생의 비판적 사고성향 및 핵심기본간호술 성취도가 간호수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors related to clinical competence of nursing students and to contribute to the education plan of the undergraduate course for the enhancement of clinical competence. The subjects of the study were 227 students in the 4th grade in the college of nursing. Clinical competence based on the general characteristics of the subject, critical thinking disposition, and core basic nursing skills achievement was conducted by an independent t-test, pearson's corelation coefficient, and linear regression model was used for statistical analysis to investigate factors influencing clinical competence. The results showed that intellectual fairness of critical thinking, achievement in middle and low level of core basic nursing skills had an effect on nursing students' clinical competence, and the higher score had the better clinical competence. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to improve intellectual fairness and core basic nursing achievement of nursing students and to prepare an educational program to develop the achievement of high level.

Ego-resilience, Disaster-Experience and Core competencies of Disaster response between Paramedic Students' and Nursing Students'

  • This study was attempted to provide fundamental data in a disaster response education program by comparing the differences between students of the paramedic and nursing in ego-resilience, disaster-experience and core competencies of disaster response. The data is collected from March 2 to April 2, 2019, on a total of 358 students (196 paramedic students and 162 nursing students) based in Jeolla Province. The structured questionnaire were used as research tools and the collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS program as frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The average score of total ego-resilience among the subjects was 86.97 out of 125 points. The number of paramedic students who experienced or witnessed the disaster situation in person was 11.2%, and the number of nursing students was 11.7%. The core competence of disaster response was 3.21% in paramedic students and 3.16% in nursing students. The ego-resilience of the paramedic and nursing students according to their general characteristics is statistically significant differences (t=2.797, p<.005) and the paramedic students has an average score of 3.52 points, which is higher than the nursing students (3.42 points). General characteristics and experience in disasters are statistically significant differences (t=2.797, p<.005), paramedic students had more disaster experiences (3.11 points) than nursing students (2.67 points). It indicated the static correlation relationship between ego-resilience, disaster experience and core competences of disaster response (p<.000). Through this study, the paramedic students were found to be more ego-resilience, more disaster experience and more critical capacity for disaster treatment than nursing students.

Affecting Factors of Core Nursing Competence by Senior Nursing Students (졸업 학년 간호대학생의 핵심간호역량 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate factors attecting the core nursing competence of senior nursing students.. The subjects who participated in this study were 178 students in the 4th year of nursing at one college in the Ulsan were surveyed using a structured questionnairs. Independent t-test, one way ANOVA and Pearson's corrlation coefficient, Stepwise regression were performed on the collected data using SPSS 25.0 program. Study finding revealed that major satisfaction(��=0.44, p<.001), clitical thinking(��=0.29, p=.003), nursing professionalism(��=0.22, p=.009), and self-leadership(��=0.17, p<.001) about core nursing competence were siginificant predictive variables(F=7.75, p<.001). This variables accounted for 23.4% of the variance in core nursing competency. Therefore, it is necessary to develp and apply program to improve core nursing competency in senoir nursing students.

Survey Study about the Priority of Vocational Core Competence for the Occupational Therapist (작업치료사의 직업기초능력 우선순위 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey the occupational therapists's vocational core competency. Study subjects were 138 occupational therapists and 95 students majored occupational therapy and they participated in the survey about the vocational core ability to confirm the factors about the vocational core ability. As the results of these, both occupational therapists and university students majored occupational therapy felt the need for vocational ability and communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and problem-solving skills were found to be important, and that they also possessed them. However, only in the group of students majored occupational therapy showed that technical skills were important, but they did not possess the most. Accordingly, it is necessary to consider a curriculum that can collect knowledge and information on various skills necessary for actual vocational performance as the occupational therapist.

Effect of core training on dynamic posture control, lower extremity injury, and joint position sense in ski athletes

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of core training on dynamic posture control, lower extremity injury and proprioceptive joint position sensory in ski athletes. Twenty subjects participated in this study and were randomly divided into two groups : exercise group (Ex=10) and control group (Con=10). The core training program consisted of a bench, a sideways bench, a plank, a side bridge, and a supine bridge, and was conducted three times a week for 8 week. The dynamic posture control had a significant effect on the left and right postero-medial reach, and the lower extremity criterion test had a significant effect on the left and right composite scores. In addition, there was a significant decrease in the proprioceptive joint position sense at 15°of the left leg and 45°. In conclusion, 8 weeks a core training have been shown to improve skiers' dynamic posture control, lower extremity injury and proprioceptive joint position sensory.
