  • Some bounds for anisotropic torsional rigidity with one plane of elastic symmetry perpendicular to the axis of the beam are derived by making use of the isoperimetric inequalities, complementary variational principles, and the maximum principle. Upper and lower bounds are obtained by applying the isoperimetric inequalities. While the upper bound investigated by the variational principles and maximum principle. The analysis is patterned after the work of Payne and Weinbeger [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 2(1961). pp. 210-216].

  • This paper presents LDPC codes' upper bounds over the waterfall SNR region. The previous researches have focused on the average bound or ensemble bound over the whole SNR region and showed the performance differences for the fixed block size. In this paper, the particular LDPC codes' upper bounds for various block sizes are calculated over the waterfall SNR region and are compared with BP decoding performance. For different block sizes the performance degradation of BP decoding is shown.

  • In this paper, we obtain some new bounds for Perron root of a nonnegative matrix, which are expressed by easily calculated function in element of matrix. These new results generalize and improve the bounds of G. Frobenius [1] and H. Minc [2], and also extend the known results by Liu [6].

  • In this paper, we derive sharp upper and lower expectation bounds on the extreme order statistics from possibly dependent random variables whose marginal distributions are only known. The marginal distributions of the considered random variables may not be the same and the expectation bounds are completely determined by the marginal distributions only.

  • We computed zero mean Gaussian of average error bounds pf Simpsons quadrature with convariances in [2]. In this paper, we compute zero mean Gaussian of average error bounds between Simpsons quadrature and composite Simpsons quadra-ture on four consecutive subintervals. The reason why we compute these on subintervals is because these results enable us to compute a posteriori error bounds on the whole interval in the later paper.

  • In this note, we obtained results related to multiparameter discrete exponential families on considering lattice or semi-lattice in place of N (Natural numbers) in view of Cacoullos-type inequalities via the same arguments in Papathanasiou (1990, 1993).

  • We consider the probability that the total population of a Jackson network exceeds a given large value. By using the relation to the stationary distribution, we derive upper and lower bounds on this probability. These bounds imply the stronger logarithmic limit than that in Glasserman and Kou(1995) when several nodes have the same maximal load.

  • A new method(EVF method) is applied to get lower bounds to frequencies of rotating uniform beams which are clamped or simply supported at one end and free at the other. For the upper bounds, the Rayleigh-Ritz method is employed. Numerical results are presented.

  • Using the known result of the expected busy period for a controllable M/G/1 queueing model operating under the triadic Max (N, T, D) policy, its upper and lower bounds are derived to approximate its corresponding actual value. Both bounds are represented in terms of the expected busy periods for the dyadic Min (N, T), Min (N, D) and Min (T, D) and simple N, T and D operating policies. All three input variables N, T and D are equally contributed to construct such bounds for better estimation.
