An Analysis of Curriculum of Vocational Hish Schools - Focused on Electron-Related Departments of Daegu and Gyungsangbuk-do (직업교육 중심 고등학교 교육과정 편성 현황 분석 - 대구·경북 전자계열 학과를 중심으로 -)

  • The purposes of this research are to analyze and compare curriculum of vocational high schools. In order to complete the purposes, the method of curriculum document analysis was used. Analysis subjects are Meister high schools, Technical high schools and Electronic high schools operating electron-related departments in Daegu and Gyungsangbuk-do. The conclusions of this research are as follows: Firstly, the educational goals of the vocational high schools were largely to educate professional men. The educational goals of vocational high school need to be improved in terms of high school's general educational goals and character education. Secondly, curriculum of vocational high schools consists of general subjects and specialized subjects and the rates of them vary according to region and school type. Thirdly, there were various general subjects by region and school type. Each school needs to organize the subjects to suit the progress of their students and graduates. Finally, there is a need to review the scope and sequence of specialized subjects.

Perception of Teachers and Students in Meister and Specialized Vocational High School on Problem Solving Ability Domain of Test for Enhanced Employ ability & Upgraded Proficiency (직업기초능력평가 문제해결능력 영역에 대한 마이스터고 및 특성화고 교사와 학생의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to inquiry of perception of Meister high school and specialized vocational high school' teachers and students on problem solving ability domain of test for enhanced employ ability & upgraded proficiency. Research subjects and region were teachers and sophomore students of each one of Meister high schools and specialized vocational high schools in Gyeongsangnamdo and Gwangju region. The questionnaire was composed of 4 research areas. Research areas were demographic characteristics, questions aspects, operational and enforcement aspects and side support for the development of test for enhanced employ ability & upgraded proficiency. Teachers questionnaire were composed of 15 items and students questionnaire were composed of 8 items. Further the research were interviewed research and targets were teachers and students of Meister high school and specialized vocational high school. The samples(N=719) of teachers and students were drawn from 2 high schools and collected data were analyzed with SPSS. The results were as follows. Perception of Meister high school students regarded more items of test for enhanced employ ability & upgraded proficiency as appropriate than specialized vocational high school students. Perception of Meister high school students regarded more CBT system as appropriate than specialized vocational high school students. Perception of specialized vocational high school teachers regarded more items of level of difficulty, degree of completion, validity than Meister high school teachers.

A Content Analysis of Sex Education in High School Textbooks Based on Gender Equality (고등학교 성교육 관련 교과 내용 분석 - SIECUS의 양성평등 관점 중심-)

  • The purposes of this study are to analyze sex education content in high school textbooks and to suggest new guidelines for high school sex education content from a gender equality standpoint. The study analyzes sex-related content from high school textbooks based on the 7th curriculum, including subject areas such as Technical/Home Economics, Sciences, Physical Education, Social Studies and Moral Studies. The analysis relies on the framework of Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States that covers 4 levels and 6 categories as well as the framework of Choi (2005) that includes 36 themes in 6 different categories. The results of this study are as follows: First, high school sex-related textbooks are focused mainly on human development and human relations. Secondly, there is a lot of level 3 sex education content within the analyzed textbooks. Third, there are gender inequality issues in the coverage of such topics as pregnancy, contraception and sexual violence. Fourth, there are also gender inequality problems caused by content level. This study recommends that gender inequality issues be included in high school sex education guidelines in the future in order to provide improved and appropriate content for high school level sex education.

Teacher's Recognition and Needs about STEAM Education in Specialized High Schools for Technical fields (공업계열 특성화고 교사의 STEAM 교육에 대한 인식과 요구도)

  • This study is to analyze teacher's recognition and needs of STEAM education in specialized high schools for technical fields. For this study, survey using questionnaire was applied to teachers in specialized high schools for technical fields. This study includes the recognition and the needs on STEAM education of general and industrial subject teachers in specialized high schools for technical fields. In order to carry on this study, 655 questionnaires were collected from teachers of 16 specialized high schools for technical fields in the whole country. Practically, 611 questionnaires (257 of normal subject teachers and 398 of industrial subject teachers) were used for this study. As a result, it is known that the needs of STEAM education is larger to industrial subject teachers than general subject teachers. But it is disclosed that STEAM education is more difficult to general subject teachers than industrial subject teachers. In requirements of teaching-learning, general subject teachers only required reference materials, but industrial subject teachers needed STEAM lesson under the same subjects and data sharing system as a priority. General and industrial subject teachers also considered education program development for creative thinking skills and problem solving abilities as a priority. Finally, in the administrative and financial requirement, both of them demand to reduce administrative tasks as a priority.

The Effect of Cooperative Learning on Academic Achievement in the Subject of 'Automobile Engine' in Technical High School (공업계 고등학교 '자동차기관'과목의 흡·배기 장치 정비 수업에서 협동학습이 학업 성취도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of cooperative learning on academic achievement of the maintenance of intake and exhaust stroke education in the technical high school. The following null hypotheses were stated and utilized for the purpose of the study. (1) Taxonomy of educational objectives(cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain) and (2) the level of entering behavior To verify the hypotheses of the study, 2 parts(17 students in each part) of the second grades from technical high school were selected. The data were collected and interpreted statistically by t-test using SPSS(ver. 10) at the .05 level of significance. The result of this study were as follows; First, learning together cooperative learning had little effect on the academic achievement in the cognitive domain but the affective and psychomotor domain were more effective than the traditional teaching method on the taxonomy of educational objectives. Second, learning together cooperative learning was effective on the academic achievements of lower and higher ability group of students, while wasn't effective on middle ability group in the level of entering behavior.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop CD-ROM so that students can understand 8051 Microprocessor unit easily in electronics circuit practice subject of technical high school. The study gives students, who have difficulties in learning, a chance for self-directed and supplementary learning by suggesting interface process with 8051 Practice Kit. To achieve these purposes, literature survey, collecting textbooks and materials, development of CD-ROM were gradually carried out. Each steps were as follows: Firstly, in literature survey, concepts and characteristics of multimedia and application to class were reviewed. Secondly, text contents on 8051 Microprocessor unit were analyzed, main contents were extracted and graphic, sound, animation were made. It was consisted of eight basic learning subjects, and designed to flow systematically. In this study, we presented a kind of teaching-learning material by developing CD-ROM in 8051 microprocessor unit in electronics circuit practice subject as a central matter. This material will be able to help technical high school students in learning

The Relationship between Major Subjects of Information & Communication Department and Mathematics in Technical High School, Busan metropolitan city (부산광역시 공업계 고등학교 정보 통신과의 전문 교과와 수학 교과의 연관성)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the new direction in the curriculum and framework of information & communication department in technical high schools through analyzing the propriety of curriculum contents, the relationship among the subjects and the time difference in major subjects and mathematics, respectively. The main results of this study are as follows: (1) The common curriculum to include the number of selective and major subjects were different according to the curriculum and studying hours in each school. The differences were caused by the results of managing the curriculum by which was considered characteristics of schools, department and so on. (2) Mathematical contents are evenly found in 3 units in general communication subjects. The mathematical factors are shown similarly in every item in mathematics10-A, mathematics10-B, and mathematics I. The mathematical contents are found most frequently by 41.2% in the communication basis unit, also there were four items which do not exist in the technical high school mathematics. (3) Mathematical contents are evenly found in every unit of electron circuit subject. The mathematical factors in mathematics10-A are shown more than in mathematics I by 8 items. Mathematical contents are found most frequently in the amplification circuit unit by 22.2% of the electron circuit subject.

High Contrast Red, Green, and Blue Organic Lightemitting Diodes using Inorganic Metal Multi Layers

  • High contrast red, green and blue organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated using inorganic metal multi layer composed of thin Al, KCl and thick Al and then were compared to optical and electrical characteristics with the attached polarizer and conventional OLEDs. Ambient light reflection of OLED using inorganic metal layer, polarizer and conventional metal layer were 29.2, 31.1 and 82.5% respectively. Optical characteristics of OLEDs using inorganic metal layer were max luminescence of 13040 cd/m2 and luminous efficiency of 2.12 cd/A at 8V whereas OLEDs using polarizer has 8456 cd/m2 and 1.43 cd/A at 8V each. OLEDs including inorganic metal multi layers show significant technical advantages in achieving high performance of OLED display with improved contrast ratio of 251:1, specifically in Red OLED.

Effect of Vanadium and Boron on Microstructure and Low Temperature Impact Toughness of Bainitic Steels (베이나이트강의 미세조직과 저온 충격 인성에 미치는 바나듐과 보론의 영향)

  • In this study, three kinds of bainitic steels are fabricated by controlling the contents of vanadium and boron. High vanadium steel has a lot of carbides and nitrides, and so, during the cooling process, acicular ferrite is well formed. Carbides and nitrides develop fine grains by inhibiting grain growth. As a result, the low temperature Charpy absorbed energy of high vanadium steel is higher than that of low vanadium steel. In boron added steel, boron segregates at the prior austenite grain boundary, so that acicular ferrite formation occurs well during the cooling process. However, the granular bainite packet size of the boron added steel is larger than that of high vanadium steel because boron cannot effectively suppress grain growth. Therefore, the low temperature Charpy absorbed energy of the boron added steel is lower than that of the low vanadium steel. HAZ (heat affected zone) microstructure formation affects not only vanadium and boron but also the prior austenite grain size. In the HAZ specimen having large prior austenite grain size, acicular ferrite is formed inside the austenite, and granular bainite, bainitic ferrite, and martensite are also formed in a complex, resulting in a mixed acicular ferrite region with a high volume fraction. On the other hand, in the HAZ specimen having small prior austenite grain size, the volume fraction of the mixed acicular ferrite region is low because granular bainite and bainitic ferrite are coarse due to the large number of prior austenite grain boundaries.

Fabrication and Characteristics of HARP Image Pickup Tube Using a-Se Photoconductive Film (a-Se 광도전막을 이용한 HARP 촬상관의 제작 및 특성)

  • A HARP (high-gain avalanche rushing amorphous photoconductor) image pickup tube using $4{\mu}m$ thick a-Se photoconductive film was fabricated and its characteristics were investigated. When the target voltage was increased more than 360 V, the signal current increases rapidly but the dark current of the tube was suppressed less than 3.2 nA up to the voltage of 490 V And the quantum efficiency of the target was about 4.3 at the electric field of $1.1{\times}10^{6}V/cm$ and the wavelength of 440 nm. Also the amplitude response of the HARP tube was 7.5% at 800 TV lines, and the decay lag was 3.4%.
