  • In this paper we define a Myller configuration in a Finsler space and use some special configurations to obtain results about Finsler subspaces. Let $F^{n}$ = (M,F) be a Finsler space, with M a real, differentiable manifold of dimension n. Using the pull back bundle $({\pi}^{*}TM,\tilde{\pi},\widetilde{TM})$ of the tangent bundle $(TM,{\pi},M)$ by the mapping $\tilde{\pi}={\pi}/TM$ and the Cartan Finsler connection of a Finsler space, we obtain an orthonormal frame of sections of ${\pi}^{*}TM$ along a regular curve in $\widetilde{TM}$ and a system of invariants, geometrically associated to the Myller configuration. The fundamental equations are written in a very simple form and we prove a fundamental theorem. Important lines in a Finsler subspace are defined like special lines in a Myller configuration, geometrically associated to the subspace: auto parallels, lines of curvature, asymptotes. Torse forming vector fields with respect to the Cartan Finsler connection are characterized by means of the invariants of the Frenet frame of a versor field along a curve, and the new notion of torse forming vector fields in the sense of Myller is introduced. The particular cases of concurrence and parallelism in the sense of Myller are completely studied, for vector fields from the distribution $T^m$ of the Myller configuration and also from the normal distribution $T^p$.

  • The current study analyzes Langmuir slip boundary condition theoretically and it is tested in practical numerical analysis for separation-associated flow. Slip phenomenon at the channel wall is properly implemented by various numerical slip boundary conditions including Langmuir slip model. Compressible backward-facing step flow is compared to other analysis results with the purpose of diatomic gas Langmuir slip model validation. The numerical solutions of pressure and velocity distributions where separation occurs are in good agreement with other numerical results. Numerical analysis is conducted for Reynolds number from 10 to 60 for a prediction of separation at T-shaped micro manifold. Reattachment length of flows shows nonlinear distribution at the wall of side branch. The Langmuir slip model predicts fairly the physics in terms of slip effect and separation.

  • In this study an air flow meter was developed for MPI engine using ultrasonic sensors. The major characteristcs of the ultrasonic flow meter are high speed response, flow direction recognition and linear output. The air flow rate measurements were conducted at upstream of the throttle and intake manifold. The characteristics of the ultrasonic flow meter are compared with those of the Bosch hot wire flow meter at both steady and unsteady engine conditions.

  • Let ${\gamma}$ be a hyperbolic closed orbit of a $C^1$ vector field X on a compact boundaryless Riemannian manifold M, and let $C_X({\gamma})$ be the chain component of X which contains ${\gamma}$. We say that $C_X({\gamma})$ is $C^1$ robustly shadowable if there is a $C^1$ neighborhood $\mathcal{U}$ of X such that for any $Y{\in}\mathcal{U}$, $C_Y({\gamma}_Y)$ is shadowable for $Y_t$, where ${\gamma}_Y$ denotes the continuation of ${\gamma}$ with respect to Y. In this paper, we prove that any $C^1$ robustly shadowable chain component $C_X({\gamma})$ does not contain a hyperbolic singularity, and it is hyperbolic if $C_X({\gamma})$ has no non-hyperbolic singularity.

  • We study the characteristic Jacobi operator ${\ell}={\bar{R}({\cdot},{\xi}){\xi}$ (along the Reeb flow ${\xi}$) on the unit tangent sphere bundle $T_1M$ over a Riemannian manifold ($M^n$, g). We prove that if ${\ell}$ is pseudo-parallel, i.e., ${\bar{R}{\cdot}{\ell}=L{\mathcal{Q}}({\bar{g}},{\ell})$, by a non-positive function L, then M is locally flat. Moreover, when L is a constant and $n{\neq}16$, M is of constant curvature 0 or 1.

  • The ignition characteristics of liquid rocket engine thrust chambers which have been developed by domestic technology were analyzed. Analysis results showed that low frequency fluctuation appeared in a partial ignition range according to different temperature profiles and vaporous state in the oxidizer manifold with startup sequences. This low frequency fluctuation wasn't developed as a malfunction factor, but this fluctuation is thought to be taken a continuous concern considering interfaces with engine system and launch vehicle.

  • Numerical study on the chaotic stirring of viscous flow in an alternately driven cavity has been performed. Even under the Stokes-flow assumption, the inherent singularity at the corners made the problem not so easily accessible. With some special treatments to the region near the corners, the biharmonic equation was solved numerically by using the fully implicit method. The velocity field was then used in obtaining the trajectories of passive particles for studying the stirring effect. The three tools developed in the field of the nonlinear dynamics and chaos, that are the Poincare sections, the unstable manifolds, and the Lyapunov exponents, were used in analysing the stirring effect. It was shown that the unstable manifolds obtained in this study well fit the experimental results given by the previous investigators. It is predicted that the best stirring can be obtained when the aspect ratio a is near 0.8 and the dimensionless period T is in the range 4.3 - 4.7.

  • In the study, it is considered sporty car as 1400cc entry cars using sound generator. These cars are required special sound quality, also sporty sound quality. The operational principle of this sound generator system is that on the operation of the engine intake valves caused pulsating is to shake the membrane of the sound generator on the inside of the driver front dash panel through the intake manifold, which will deliver the required sound quality and tone. For the component constructed sound generator, main design parameters are selected and optimized using the daguchi's method. The results are as follows; The C2 sound level must be minimized and C4 level must be maximized. And also overall level keeps linear characteristics.

  • Recent studies on wall-bounded shear flow have emphasized the significance of the stable manifold of simple nonlinear invariant solutions to the Navier-Stokes equation in the formation of the boundary between the laminar and turbulent regions in state space. In this paper we present newly discovered homoclinic orbits of the Kawahara and Kida(2001) periodic solution in plane Couette flow. We show that as the Reynolds number decreases a pair of homoclinic orbits move closer to each other until they disappear to exhibit homoclinic tangency.

  • To control a light weight flexible manipulator, a composite fuzzy controller is proposed. The controller is designed based on two time scaled models. A singular perturbation technique is applied for deriving the models. The proposed controller, however, does not use the complex equilibrium manifold equations, which are usually needed in the controller based on the two time scaled models. The controller for a slow sub-model and a fast sub-model are T-S type fuzzy controllers, which use 3 linguistic variables for each sub-model. A step trajectory is used in simulations as a reference trajectory of joint motions. The results of simulations with the proposed controller show excellent damping of flexible motions compared to a controller with derivative control of flexible motions.
