The purpose of this study is to survey Korean mother's child-rearing methods and to see what influence each layed on children's school achievement. To obtain data, a questionaire was given to 607 boys and girls, who were selected from both public and private middle schools in Seoul. The student were consisted of two distinct groups, namely superior and inferior. Five top students from each class were categorized as the superior group and five bottom ones from each class were categorized as the inferior group. The questionaire was consisted of 7 items, namely, the needing method, feeding period, weaning time, mothers general attitudes about crying, sleeping arrangement and whether mothers workers or not. Summary of this study is as follows ; 1. As far as babies were breast-fed, there was no significant between the superior group and the interior group no matter what feeding period and weaning time were. 2. When the babies were fed by milk or both by milk and breast, the most favorable weaning time for intellectual development seemed to be between 6 and 9 months after birth. 3. The mother's general attitudes to babies crying and the sleeping arrangement have definite influence on the children's school achievement. It was shown that if mothers hugged babies as soon as they cried the babies tended to be superior, but the mothers of inferior group had tendency to let alone, until the babies stopped crying or hug after finishing their urgent works. Then the superior group was allowed to sleep alone in his own bed in the mother's room. On the contrary, the inferior group was kept in their mother bed or that of other family's without being given his own bed. 4. Whether mother had a job or not did not had any influence on children's school achievement. 5. Korean mothers have tendency to hug their babies as soon as when they find them cry and feed them with breast milk. The study also shows that the mothers rearing attitudes has certain influencial effect upon the children's school achievement.

This study is a research study to determine the effect of online lecture substitution for subjects due to COVID-19 on self-directed learning ability, academic achievement, and online learning satisfaction of nursing students. From September to October 2020, the final 113 nursing students of data recovered as enrolled in the Department of Nursing at a university located in G City were analyzed. The data collected were analyzed by performing descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program. The study results are summarized as follows. The average score of self-directed learning was 3.32±0.39, academic achievement 3.32±0.75, and learning satisfaction was 3.31±0.78. Factors affecting online learning satisfaction were found to be preferred learning methods and academic achievement. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to design instruction and operate classes to improve online learning satisfaction by evaluating the learner's learning method in advance when running nursing school subjects as online lectures for nursing students.

The purpose of this study was to identify factors related to clinical competence of nursing students and to contribute to the education plan of the undergraduate course for the enhancement of clinical competence. The subjects of the study were 227 students in the 4th grade in the college of nursing. Clinical competence based on the general characteristics of the subject, critical thinking disposition, and core basic nursing skills achievement was conducted by an independent t-test, pearson's corelation coefficient, and linear regression model was used for statistical analysis to investigate factors influencing clinical competence. The results showed that intellectual fairness of critical thinking, achievement in middle and low level of core basic nursing skills had an effect on nursing students' clinical competence, and the higher score had the better clinical competence. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to improve intellectual fairness and core basic nursing achievement of nursing students and to prepare an educational program to develop the achievement of high level.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether multicultural youth's participation in activities affects academic performance, verify whether achievement motivation and social relations have multiple mediating effects, and analyze whether there are differences between male and female groups. To this end, a total of 1,635 high school sophomores were analyzed in the 8th year (2018) of the Multicultural Youth Panel Survey. As a result of the analysis, first, it was confirmed that the influence of multicultural youth's participation in youth activities on academic performance was partially mediated by achievement motivation and social relations. Second, for all multicultural adolescents, 'achievement motivation' was found to have a significant effect on academic performance, and this route was found to be male students is a female student. It was found to be more positive than 001), and the difference between groups was statistically significant. Therefore, it is necessary to expand opportunities to participate in youth activities for multicultural youth and to prepare creative activity spaces and content support policies.

Universities in Korea are presenting various extracurricular activities for survival and growth. Although the goals of extracurricular activities are diverse, one of the most important is to improve the academic achievement of college students. In this study, we looked at the relationship between the cumulative score of extracurricular activities by difficulty level and academic achievement. As a result, first, even if students' basic academic skills were controlled, extracurricular activities had a positive effect on student achievement. This suggests that universities should provide extracurricular activities that are more diverse and tailored to the needs of students. Second, the participation rate of female students in extracurricular activities is similar to that of male students, but the performance is very high. Third, Senior students show high levels of participation and performance. This means that it is necessary to actively increase the participation rate of female students and lower grade students. To this end, not only publicity and compensation, but also active interest and participation of instructors will be required.

This study aims to improve the quality of classes by analyzing the role and learning achievement of instructors in programming subjects for non-major students. This study investigated the effect of teaching mathematical communication in mathematics learning. Cooperative learning, mathematics pin pals, and writing a mathematics diary were used to teach how to communicate mathematically. The experimental group was assigned to cooperate in class, to write a mathematics diary at the end of each class, and to exchange the mathematics pen pals once a week. The control group was taught by the traditional teaching method. The results were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The learning achievement between the two groups was performed with pretests and posttests. And after this study, mathematics pen pals, video protocol and open-ended test were analyzed. The results of this study are the following: 1. There were little differences in learning achievement test between the group taught through communication and those not. And there were little differences in the results of achievement test between the two groups-high and low level classes.2. Cooperative learning, writing a mathematics diary and mathematics pen pals were effective as methods of teaching communication mathematically. The analysis of mathematics pen pals which is to investigate student's writing abilities showed that pen pal partners were improved in QCAI communication levels. There was a significant difference between the two groups in open-ended test. This means that communication learning has an effect on the tests for mathematical thought, reasoning, and creative thought. The analysis of video protocol showed that four students in a cooperative group were improved in their speaking and listening abilities.

Today the high school mathematics lesson has an effect on the scholastic achievement internationally, but fails to lead to the interest in the mathematics which stimulates the intellectual curiosity. Due to this, 2015 revised curriculum includes the effort to improve the emotional aspect of mathematics positively. It is needed that the teaching method through discussion and debate must be introduced to accomplish the objective of the mathematics in 2015 revised curriculum focused on the improvement of the ability and attitude to solve the problems creatively by increasing the mathematical communication skill of the students. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of mathematical essay-typed lesson focused on discussion and debate on the mathematical disposition and attitude of high school student. The findings from this study provided that the essay-typed lessons focused on discussion and debate improved the subject students' mathematical achievement and disposition and attitude, but it is not significant change.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine whether job-seeking stress, career decision-making self-efficacy, self-esteem, and academic achievement had an influence on nursing students' happiness. Methods: The participants were 147 nursing students in D city. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 19.0 using ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Factors that had an influence on happiness included major satisfaction(highly unsatisfied ${\beta}=-.251$, p=.001), average monthly family income(between four and six million won ${\beta}=.222$, p=.002), career decision-making self-efficacy(${\beta}=.198$, p=.010), major satisfaction(satisfied ${\beta}=.196$, p=.006), and subjective health(unhealthy ${\beta}=-.167$, p=.020). These factors explained 33.5% of the variance in student happiness. Conclusion: The results of this study reveal that career decision-making self-efficacy, self-esteem, major satisfaction, and job-seeking stress were important intrinsic factors in the happiness of nursing students. Thus, it is necessary to help these students attain more self-efficacy, self-esteem, and major satisfaction rather than focusing on academic achievement in order to increase their happiness.

The purpose of this study was to explore and analyse the work value of university students majoring in health care management. The subjects of this study were 300 students. Maryland Work Value Inventory was used and the data were collected using a structured and self-administrated questionnaire. As a result of factor analysis, the following results were obtained. First, the work value consists of six factors (financial remuneration, social status, social contribution, capability, achievement, proper pride) and it can be classified extrinsic work value (financial remuneration, social status) and intrinsic work value(social contribution, capability, achievement, proper pride). Second, The mean extrinsic work value(4.16) was higher than the mean intrinsic work value(3.80). The preference order of the work value was like this; financial remuneration(4.36) the first, achievement(4.05), social status(3.96), proper pride(3.93), capability(3.78), and social contribution(3.45) the last. Third, the mean of the economic stability in extrinsic work value was the highest. The factors meaningfully relating with intrinsic work value were age, school grade and the experience of job. Forth, as a result of regression analysis, the more school grade they have, the less extrinsic work value and the less their mother's level of education, the higher extrinsic work value.
