  • This paper considers the reliability estimation of a two-component shared-load system based on Freund model. Maximum likelihood estimator, order restricted maximum likelihood estimator and uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator of the reliability function for the system are obtained. Performance of three estimators for moderate sample sizes is studied by simulation.

  • In this paper, we consider two components system which have bivariate weibull model with bivariate type I censored data. We proposed maximum likelihood estimator and relative frequency estimator for the reliability of series system. Also, we construct approximate confidence intervals for the reliability based on the two proposed estimators. And we present a numerical study.

  • We consider two components parallel system in which the lifetimes have the bivariate Pareto model with bivariate random censored data. We assume that bivariate Pareto model is affected by common stress which is independent of the lifetimes of the components. We obtain estimators for the system reliability based on likelihood function and relative frequency. Also we construct approximated confidence intervals for the reliability based on maximum likelihood estimator and relative frequency estimator, respectively. Finally we present a numerical study.

  • Maximum likelihood method is utilized to estimate the two parameters of generalized exponential distribution based on grouped and censored data. This method does not give closed form for the estimates, thus numerical procedure is used. Reliability measures for the generalized exponential distribution are calculated. Testing the goodness of fit for the exponential distribution against the generalized exponential distribution is discussed. Relevant reliability measures of the generalized exponential distributions are also evaluated. A set of real data is employed to illustrate the results given in this paper.

  • In this paper we will discuss the stochastic analysis of a three state semi-Markov reliability model. Maximum likelihood procedure will be used to obtain the estimators of the parameters included in this reliability model. Based on the assumption that the lifetime and repair time of the system units are generalized linear failure rate random variables, the reliability function of this system is obtained. Also, the distribution of the first passage time of this system will be derived. Some important special cases are discussed.

  • We derive some approximate maximum likelihood estimators(AMLEs) and maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of the scale parameter in the half-triangle distribution based on progressively Type-II censored samples. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error for various censored samples. We also obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimators of the reliability function using the proposed estimators. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error.

  • We shall propose maximum likelihood, Bayesian and generalized maximum likelihood estimation for the reliability of the two-unit hot standby system with Rayleigh lifetime distribution that switch is perfect. Each estimation will be compared numerically in terms of various mission times, parameter values and asymptotic relative efficiency through Monte Carlo simulation.

  • In this paper, we discuss the plethora of uses for the software package R, and focus specifically on its helpful applications in reliability data analyses. Examples are presented; including the R coding protocol, R code, and plots for various statistical as well as reliability analyses. We explore Kaplan-Meier estimates and maximum likelihood estimation for distributions including the Weibull. Finally, we discuss future applications of R, and usages of quantile regression in reliability.

  • One-shot device is required to successfully perform its function only once at the moment of use. The reliability of a one-shot device should be expressed as a probability of success. In this paper, we propose a bayesian approach for estimating reliability of one-shot devices with small sample size. We employ a gamma prior to obtain the posterior distribution. Finally, we compare the accuracy of the proposed method with general maximum likelihood method.
