  • Let I be an ideal in a Gorenstein local ring A with the maximal ideal m. Then we say that I is an equimultiple good ideal in A, if I contains a reduction Q = ( $a_1$, $a_2$,ㆍㆍㆍ, $a_{s}$ ) generated by s elements in A and G(I) =(equation omitted)$_{n 0}$ $I^{n}$ / $I^{n+1}$ of I is a Gorenstein ring with a(G(I)) = 1 - s, where s = h $t_{A}$ I and a(G(I)) denotes the a-invariant of G(I). Let $X_{A}$$^{s}$ denote the set of equimultiple good ideals I in A with h $t_{A}$ I = s, R(I) = A [It] be the Rees algebra of I, and $K_{R(I)}$ denote the canonical module of R(I). Let a I such that $I^{n+l}$ = a $I^{n}$ for some n$\geq$0 and $\mu$$_{A}$(I)$\geq$2, where $\mu$$_{A}$(I) denotes the number of elements in a minimal system of generators of I. Assume that A/I is a Cohen-Macaulay ring. We show that the following conditions are equivalent. (1) $K_{R(I)}$(equation omitted)R(I)+as graded R(I)-modules. (2) $I^2$ = aI and aA : I$\in$ $X^1$$_{A}$._{A}$./.

  • In [8], the author decomposed the Dirichlet form associated to a bounded generator G of a $weakly^*$-continuous, completely positive, KMS-symmetric Markovian semigroup on a von Neumann algebra M. The aim of this paper is to extend G to the unbounded generator using the bimodule structure and derivations.

  • In this paper we dene the notions of left *-bimultiplier, *-bimultiplier and generalized *-biderivation, and to prove that if a semiprime *-ring admits a left *-bimultiplier M, then M maps R ${\times}$ R into Z(R). In Section 3, we discuss the applications of theory of *-bimultipliers. Further, it was shown that if a semiprime *-ring R admits a symmetric generalized *-biderivation G : R ${\times}$ R ${\rightarrow}$ R with an associated nonzero symmetric *-biderivation R ${\times}$ R ${\rightarrow}$ R, then G maps R ${\times}$ R into Z(R). As an application, we establish corresponding results in the setting of $C^*$-algebra.

  • A method using the linear matrix algebra is developed in order to determine unknown external forces in linear structural analyses. The method defines a matrix which represents the linearity of the vibrational analysis for a structural system. The unknown external forces are determined by the operations of the matrix. The method is applied to find an engine motion in an automobile system. For a simulation process, an exhaust system is modeled and analyzed by the finite element method. The validity of the simulation is verified by comparing with the experimental results the free vibration. Also, an experiment on the forced vibration is performed to determine the damping ratio of the exhaust sysetm. Estimated model parameters(natural frequency, mode shape) are in accord with the experimental results. Because the method merely repeats the transpose and inverse operations of a matrix, the solution is extremely easy and simple. Moreover, it is more accurate than the existing methods in that there is no artificial assumptions in the calculation processes. Therefore, the method is found to be reliable for the analysis of the exhaust system considering the characteristics of vibrations. Although the suggested method is tested by only the exhaust system here, it can be applied to general structures.

  • Let R be an associative ring and let G be a finite group of Jordan automorphisms of R. Let $R^G$ be the set of elements in R fixed by all $g{\in}G$. In this paper we will study the relationship between the Levitzki radical of $R^G$ and R as that a Jordan ring. We also show that if R is a P.I. algebra, then the algebraicity of $R^G$ implies the algebraicity of R.

  • Let G be a Lie group with Lie algebra L(G) and let $\Omega$ be a nonempty subset of L(G). If $\Omega$ is interpreted as the set of controls, then the set of elements attainable from the identity for the system $\Omega$ is a subsemigroup of G. A system $\Omega$ is called a non-overlapping control system if any element attainable for $\Omega$ is only attainable at one time.

  • In this paper we find necessary and sufficient conditions for weak amenability of the convolution Banach algebras A(K) and $L^2(K)$ for a compact hypergroup K, together with their applications to convolution Banach algebras $L^p(K)$ ($2\;{\leq}\;p\;<\;{\infty}$). It will further be shown that the convolution Banach algebra A(G) for a compact group G is weakly amenable if and only if G has a closed abelian subgroup of finite index.

  • The manifold $^*g-ESX_n$ is a generalized n-dimensional Riemannian manifold on which the differential geometric structure is imposed by the unified field tensor $^*g^{{\lambda}{\nu}}$ through the ES-connection which is both Einstein and semi-symmetric. The purpose of the present paper is to study the algebraic geometric structures of 3-dimensional $^*g-ESX_3$. Particularly, in 3-dimensional $^*g-ESX_3$, we derive a new set of powerful recurrence relations in the first class.

  • It gives a method to obtain a natural Lie bialgebra from a Poisson bialgebra by an algebraic point of view. Let g be a coboundary Lie bialgebra associated to a Poission Lie group G. As an application, we obtain a Lie bialgebra from a sub-Poisson bialgebra of the restricted dual of the universal enveloping algebra U(g).

  • In this paper, the necessary and sufficient conditions are considered for biprojectivity of Banach algebras $E_p(I)$. As an application, we investigate biprojectivity of convolution Banach algebras A(G) and $L^2(G)$ on a compact group G.
