  • We show that the Auslander index is the same as the column invariant over Gorenstein local rings. We also show that Ding's conjecture ([13]) holds for an isolated non-Gorenstein ring A satisfying a certain condition which seems to be weaker than the condition that the associated graded ring of A is Cohen-Macaulay.

  • Let R be a Ding-Chen ring. Yang [24] and Zhang [25] asked whether or not every R-module has finite Ding projective or Ding injective dimension. In this paper, we give a new characterization of that all modules have finite Ding projective and Ding injective dimension in terms of the relationship between Ding projective and Gorenstein flat modules. We also give an example to obtain negative answer to the above question.

  • We find a necessary and sufficient condition for a $\kappa$-confi-guration $\mathbb{X}$ in $\mathbb{P}^2$ to be in generic position. We obtain the number and degrees of minimal generators of some Gorenstein ideals of codimension 3 and so obtain their minimal free resolution s of these ideals.

  • In this paper, we construct a Gorenstein Artinian algebra R/J with non-unimodal Hilbert function h = (1, 13, 12, 13, 1) to investigate the algebraic structure of the ideal J in a polynomial ring R. For this purpose, we use a software system Macaulay 2, which is devoted to supporting research in algebraic geometry and commutative algebra.

  • Transfer of homological properties under base change is a classical field of study. Let $R{\rightarrow}S$ be a ring homomorphism. The relations of Gorenstein projective (or Gorenstein injective) dimensions of unbounded complexes between $U{\otimes}^L_RX$(or $RHom_R(X,U)$) and X are considered, where X is an R-complex and U is an S-complex. In addition, some sufficient conditions are given under which the equalities $G-dim_S(U{\otimes}^L_RX)=G-dim_RX+pd_SU$ and $Gid_S(RHom_R(X,U))=G-dim_RX+id_SU$ hold.

  • Let R be a ring. A right R-module M is called GI-flat if $Tor^R_1(M,G)=0$ for every Gorenstein injective left R-module G. It is shown that GI-flat modules lie strictly between flat modules and copure flat modules. Suppose R is an $n$-FC ring, we prove that a finitely presented right R-module M is GI-flat if and only if M is a cokernel of a Gorenstein flat preenvelope K ${\rightarrow}$ F of a right R-module K with F flat. Then we study GI-flat dimensions of modules and rings. Various results in [6] are developed, some new characterizations of von Neumann regular rings are given.

  • Let $\mathcal{W}$ be an additive full subcategory of the category R-Mod of left R-modules. We provide a method to construct a proper ${\mathcal{W}}^H_C$-resolution (resp. coproper ${\mathcal{W}}^T_C$-coresolution) of one term in a short exact sequence in R-Mod from those of the other two terms. By using these constructions, we introduce and study the stability of the Gorenstein categories ${\mathcal{G}}_C({\mathcal{W}}{\mathcal{W}}^T_C)$ and ${\mathcal{G}}_C({\mathcal{W}}^H_C{\mathcal{W}})$ with respect to a semidualizing bimodule C, and investigate the 2-out-of-3 property of these categories of a short exact sequence by using these constructions. Also we prove how they are related to the Gorenstein categories ${\mathcal{G}}((R{\ltimes}C){\otimes}_R{\mathcal{W}})_C$ and ${\mathcal{G}}(Hom_R(R{\ltimes}C,{\mathcal{W}}))_C$ over $R{\ltimes}C$.

  • The structure theorems [3, 6, 21] for the classes of perfect ideals of grade 3 have been generalized to the structure theorems for the classes of perfect ideals linked to almost complete intersections of grade 3 by a regular sequence [15]. In this paper we obtain structure theorems for two classes of Gorenstein ideals of grade 4 expressed as the sum of a perfect ideal of grade 3 (except a Gorenstein ideal of grade 3) and an almost complete intersection of grade 3 which are geometrically linked by a regular sequence.

  • In [3], [4] and [5], Hochster and Huneke introduced the notions of the tight closure of an ideal and of the weak F-regularity of a ring. This notion enabled us to give new proofs of many results in commutative algebra. A regular ring is known to be F-regular, and a Gorenstein local ring is proved to be F-regular provided that one ideal generated by a system of parameters (briefly s.o.p.) is tightly closed. In fact, a Gorenstein local ring is weakly F-regular if and only if there exists a system of parameters ideal which is tightly closed [3]. But we do not know whether this fact is true or not if a ring is not Gorenstein, in particular, a ring is a Cohen Macaulay (briefly C-M) local ring. In this paper, we will prove this in the case of an 1-dimensional C-M local ring. For this, we study the F-rationality and the normality of the ring. And we will also prove that a C-M local ring is to be Gorenstein under some additional condition about the tight closure.
