In this paper, the prototype of surface EMG (ElectroMyoGram) sensor is developed for the robotic rehabilitation applications, and the developed sensor is composed of the electrodes, analog signal amplifiers, analog filters, ADC (analog to digital converter), and DSP (digital signal processor) for coding the application example. Since the raw EMG signal is very low voltage, it is amplified by about one thousand times. The artifacts of amplified EMG signal are removed by using the band-pass filter. Also, the processed analog EMG signal is converted into the digital form by using ADC embedded in DSP. The developed sensor shows approximately the linear characteristics between the amplitude values of the sensor signals measured from the biceps brachii of human upper arm and the joint angles of human elbow. Finally, to show the performance of the developed EMG sensor, we suggest the application example about the real-time human elbow motion acquisition by using the developed sensor.
Digital fetal monitoring system based on the personal computer combined with the digital signal processing (DSP) board was implemented. The DSP board acquires and digitally processes ultra- sound fetal Doppler signal for digital signal conditioning, rectification, low -pass filtering, autocorrealtion function calculation and its peak detection. The personal computer interfaced with the DSP board is in charge of graphic display, hardcopy, data transmission and on -line analysis of fetal heart rate change including on - line warning system, base -line estmation, acceleration, deceleration and variability. It is one of the most suitable situation to apply the DSP chip for siganl conditioning, digital filtering of ultrasound fetal Dopier signal and fetal heart rate estimation using autocorrelation technique .

Digital filters are extensively used in the world of communication. In order to design a digital finite impulse response (FIR) filter that satisfies all the required conditions is challenging. In this paper, design techniques of digital low pass FIR filters using Rectangular window method, Hamming window, Hanning window, and Optimal Parks McClellan method are presented. The stability, number of components required and filter coefficients are demonstrated for different design techniques. It is demonstrated that filter design using hamming window is comparatively better than rectangular and hanning window though the components required for all of the windowing technique are same, hamming shows higher stability. The stability is shown with the help of magnitude and phase spectrum of each window. Simulation is carried out using MATLAB and comparisons are made entirely based on the output of the simulation.
Digital filter is a signal processor which converts the sequence input sampled from analog signal into another sequence output. It includes software routines which filter digital signal, a computer system for executing the routines, and a data acquisition system which implements A/D, D/A signal conversion. In this paper, a data acquisition system is designed and implemented for one-board computer of MC68000. Also, the theory regarding signal conversion and and its problems occured in implementation are considered. And then, with the hardware implemented like this, design of a digital low-pass filter with the cutoff frequency of 200Hz is implemented, and related characteristics are considered.

We live in a digital age. Smartphones are used by everyone from children to the elderly. And many smart devices are pouring out and changing our daily life a lot. However, even in the development of this digital age, there are some marginalized groups. There are also those who are reluctant to expose their information in the digital age. They have difficulty making reservations on their smartphones, using payment systems, logging into the site using various authentication and verification procedures, and entering and leaving buildings. We still carry most IDs, seals, certificates, etc. in physical form. Those who use smartphones are enjoying the convenience of the times. However, among the underprivileged, the desire to pass everything with only one device is growing. In this study, the most suitable smart band model was proposed by collecting the Delphi survey and the opinions of the general public. Future research is required to improve practical usability and utility by developing cheaper and more convenient models.
A novel control method of a three-phase PWM inverter with LC filter is proposed. The transfer function of LC filter is the same as that of 2nd order low pass filter(2nd LPF) which has a zero damping ratio. A simple method of implementing 2nd LPF with damping ratio is to add resistor to inductor or capacitor of LC filter. In an industrial application, it is not practical to adopt damping resistor because it results in losses being proportional to square of current flowing through resistor. Instead of using damping resistors, the proposed active damping control(ADC) utilizes all pass filter(APF) and considers inherent processing delay of digital controller. The overall transfer function of the proposed method is the same as a 2nd LPF and its damping ratio is also controllable via control variables. Detailed design and implementation of controller is also presented. Experiments are conducted with a 7.5kVA induction motor drive system controlled by PWM converter and inverter. Test waveforms are also presented to verify the proposed LC filter control algorithm.
Given the widespread use of the Finite Element Method in strength analysis, automatic mesh generation is an important component in the computer-aided design of parts and assemblies. For a given resolution of geometric accuracy, the purpose of mesh generators is to discretize the continuous model of a part within this error limit. Sticking to this condition often produces many small elements around small features in spite that these regions are usually of little interest and computer resources are thus wasted. Therefore, it is desirable to selectively suppress small features from the model before discretization. This can be achieved by low-pass filtering a CAD model. A spatial function of one dimension higher than the model of interest is represented using the Fourier basis functions and the region where the function yields a value greater than a prescribed value is considered as the extent of a shape. Subsequently, the spatial function is low-pass filtered, yielding a shape without the small features. As an undesirable effect to this operation, all sharp corners are rounded. Preservation of sharp corners is important since stress concentrations might occur there. This is why the LPF (low-pass filtered) model can not be directly used. Instead, the distances of the boundary elements of the original shape from the LPF model are calculated and those that are far from the LPF model are identified and removed. It is shown that the number of mesh elements generated on the simplified model is much less than that of the original model.
Grid-interactive power converters are normally synchronized with the grid using phase-locked loops (PLLs). The performance of the PLLs is affected by the non-ideal conditions in the sensed grid voltage such as harmonics, frequency deviations and the dc offsets in single-phase systems. In this paper, a single-phase PLL is presented to mitigate the effects of these non-idealities. This PLL is based on the popular second order generalized integrator (SOGI) structure. The SOGI structure is modified to eliminate the effects of input dc offsets. The resulting SOGI structure has a high-pass filtering property. Hence, this PLL is termed as a high-pass generalized integrator based PLL (HGI-PLL). It has fixed parameters which reduces the implementation complexity and aids in the implementation in low-end digital controllers. The HGI-PLL is shown to have the lowest resource utilization among the SOGI based PLLs with dc cancelling capability. Systematic design methods are evolved leading to a design that limits the unit vector THD to within 1% for given non-ideal input conditions in terms of frequency deviation and harmonic distortion. The proposed designs achieve the fastest transient response. The performance of this PLL has been verified experimentally. The results agree with the theoretical prediction.
To review the theoretical background of regulatory approaches to cross-border transfer of personal data, this paper divides major digital trade participating countries into four types according to the OECD - non-regulatory, post-intervention, pre-supervision, and national control. It then analyzes the US, Japan, the EU, and China respectively that belong to each type. South Korea, which is currently about to pass the amendment by the National Assembly, has identified that it is in the middle of post-intervention and pre-supervision, and needs to evolve into pre-supervision norms like the EU while it has to participate more actively in the process of establishing international digital trade rules. Korea first needs to sign digital trade agreements and promote mutual certification projects more actively from the standpoint of a medium-sized open country with growing digital companies and digitally-open consumers. Second, the government should fully consider the interests of not only companies but also various trade stakeholders including domestic consumers, when drafting and implementing trade policies. To this end, 'a single window approach' is needed not only at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, but also at the level of the entire government which require an integrated form of digital trade policy governance.
