The purposes of this study were to investigate the intensity of middle school students' consumer competency and to assess effectiveness of Home Economics education on consumer competency. One group pretest-posttest quasi experimental design was employed to assess the effectiveness of Home Economics education on 1st grade middle school students' consumer competency in Gyeonggi province and 154 data copies were used for analyses. The results obtained were as follows. First, the cognitive consumer competency of the middle school 1st grade students was lower than the median of 37.66 out of 100 points, and the practical consumer competency was slightly higher than the median of 3.26 out of 5 points. As for cognitive competency, citizen competency was higher than deal competency. As for practical competency, deal competency was higher than citizen competency. Second, quasi-experiment intervention statistically enhanced the middle school students' consumer competency including the cognitive and practical competency. Third, the middle school students' perceived helpfulness of Home Economics education, perceived importance of deal competency and citizen competency, the level of cognitive citizen competency were statistically influential to practical consumer competency(deal and citizen competency). However, gender, life satisfaction, and cognitive citizen competency were not influential to practical consumer competency(deal and citizen competency). The outcome offered the basic information of middle school students' consumer competency and confirmed the effectiveness of Home Economics education on the middle school students' consumer competency.

Purpose: This study was performed to identify the level of career identity and clinical competency and the relationships between them in nursing students. Method: Subjects were junior students of 2 colleges in Daegu(N=217). A self-rating questionnaire included demographic data, career identity of nursing students and the clinical competency Korean scale. We received consents from teachers and students. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient using the SPSS 12.0 Program. Result: The mean score of career identity was 31.90 points and clinical competency was 145.13. Career identity showed a significant difference in the age, satisfaction of college entrance and satisfaction of clinical practice. Clinical competency showed a significant difference in the sex, marriage, satisfaction of college entrance and satisfaction of clinical practice. The data showed a negative correlation between career identity and clinical competency. Conclusion: It is necessary to find affecting factors on career identity of nursing students and to develop objective tools for clinical competency and to improve clinical competency programs.
Purpose: This study was aimed to find out the effect of core competency and teaching style on preceptor self-efficacy among preceptors. Methods: One hundred twelve nurses working at four university hospitals with previous preceptor experience participated in the survey. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression. Results: The preceptors used 'judgment-initiative' teaching style most frequently, and reported the highest scores in the role model dimension of core competency. There were significant positive relations between age (r=.266, p=.005), clinical experience (r=.274, p=.004), preceptorship experience (r=.204, p=.032), core competency (r=.593, p<.001) and preceptor self- efficacy. But preceptor self-efficacy was not significantly different depending on the teaching style (F=0.72, p=.54). The most predictive factors of the preceptor self-efficacy were core competency and teaching style (judgment)(F=31.849, p<.001). The explained variance for preceptor self-efficacy was 35.9% in the model. Conclusion: The preceptor self-efficacy is essential for the preceptors' successful teaching experience and the clinical competency improvement of the entry level nurses. Management for an effective preceptor training program needs to focus on the improvement of core competency of preceptors, which will lead to strengthen their self-efficacy.
This study is to establish the domains and the standards of instructional evaluation on the teacher knowledge dealing with the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment'. Especially, in this study, the instruction assessment standards are developed focused on the five types of mathematics competencies such as problem solving, communication, reasoning, connection, information and handling, which were emphasized in the mathematical curriculum revised in 2022. By the result, ten domains such as an instruction involving instruction goal and content, problem-solving competency, data treatment competency, learners' achievement level and attitude, communication competency, reasoning competency, connection competency, the assessment method and procedure based on the competency, the assessment tool development based on the competency, assessment result based on the competency were new established. According to those domains, the total 20 instructional evaluation standards were developed. This study is limited to consider the domain of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment' among the domains of teacher knowledge, while dealing with the elements of mathematics competencies in the standards. However, instructional evaluation standards reflecting these competencies should be developed in the other diverse domains of teacher knowledge.
The purpose of this study is to elaborate the underlying mechanism by which information competency of those with disabilities influences their level of life satisfaction through a mediator, social capital built up through online and offline activities. To this end, the research conducts mediation analysis, comprised of three sets of regression by using the data of the "2018 Report on the Digital Divide." The results demonstrate that the information competency of those with disabilities has a significant effect on their level of life satisfaction; the higher the information competency, the greater the social capital. In addition, social capital partially mediates the relationship between information competency and life satisfaction. The policy implications from this study indicate that the efforts to improve information competency of those with disabilities should be made in a way that facilitates social interactions and community participation.

Recently, many companies recognize the individual human resource as a core asset of the corporate value creation and devote a lot of effort to develop and manage competency-based human resource in order to strengthen the corporate competitiveness. As the integrated construction company taking the major portion in Korean construction industry, its construction engineers perform the construction supervision task with various related parties at each stage of the life cycle of the construction project. Therefore, the competency of a construction engineer is an important factor which have a direct impact on the success of the construction project. However, the current capability evaluation scheme of the domestic construction engineers is mainly oriented on the qualification factors such as the certificates or the seniority and this is quite different from evaluating the actual ability for construction management tasks. In this point of view, this study proposes the appropriate level of proficiency in cost management by analyzing the work process and its detailed items of the cost management that is the one of the basic management items of the construction industry. Based on this, this study analyzes the current competency level of the construction engineer by comparing with the required competency of each job position and also performs the engineer's work competency analysis of each work step.
Purpose : This study can provide various implications for the franchisors to expand activities related to franchise support or to develop andoperate an education program for foodservice franchise owners. Research design, data, and methodology : For those purpose, first, the literatureand literature related to the competency of domestic franchise owner were collected and reviewed through the Korea Education and Research Information Service (RISS). Second, the questionnaire was prepared based on the theoretical basis prepared through previous studies. Based onthe foodservice franchise owner's competency model presented by Kim & Lee (2019b), 13 franchise owner's competencies were marked with both 'What is' levels and 'What should be' levels. Therefore, the total questionnaire consists of 26 questions. Third, questionnaires were distributed and collected. This study used data from 55 surveys which were gathered from foodservice franchise owners in Seongnam-si. SPSS 25.0 was used to analyze the collected survey data. Descriptive and frequency analysis were conducted to analyze the demographic characteristics of the study subjects. Next, we conduct a t-test to analyze the difference between the level of 'What is' competencies by the franchise owners and the level of 'What should be' competencies. Descriptive statistics were used to derive the priorities of the 'What should be' competencies. The Locus for Focus model was used to derive the priorities of the required competencies. Result : Four competencies of team leadership, teamwork and cooperation, customer service, technical·professional·managerial expertise were found to be the first to be developed. Conclusions : The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, teamwork and cooperation competnecy, and team leadership competency, which are derived from the core competencies of foodservice franchise owners, are among the leadership competencies required as managers of organizations. Second, customer service competency and ttechnical·professional·managerial expertise competency derived from the core competencies of restaurant franchise owners belong to the job competencies. Third, the results of this study suggest that the foodservice franchisors will be able that will serve as a baseline to support the foodservice franchisors and franchise owners for sustainable mutual growth by encouraging their will and encouraging them to create results.
This study examined the current status of consumer competency such as consumer knowledge, consumer role attitude, and consumer skill and the related factors among female marriage immigrants. The data were collected from 220 female marriage immigrants living in Yeungnam region. The results of this study were as follows. First, the mean for consumer knowledge was 5.555, the mean for consumer role attitude was 4.067, and the mean for consumer skill was 3.841. Second, the results of t-tests and ANOVA showed that there were differences in the category of consumer knowledge according to age, educational level, marriage duration period, and Internet contact frequency. And the differences were found in age, educational level. communication with family about consumption and TV contact frequency for consumer role attitude, whereas in age, educational level, marriage duration period, employment status, communication with family about consumption and communication with friends about consumption for consumer skill. Third, according to the regression analyses, educational level was significant for consumer knowledge. Additionally, communication with family about consumption and TV contact frequency were significant for consumer role attitude, and age, educational level, communication with family about consumption and communication with friends about consumption were significant for consumer skill.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to establish an education curriculum subject program design for the department of emergency medical technology based on National Competency Standards (NCS) key competencies. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 180 level 1 emergency medical technicians in K area from June 15 to 20, 2016. Except for 14 incomplete questionnaires, 141 data were analyzed. The study instrument included general characteristics of the subjects (7 items) and importance and satisfaction levels for 10 key competencies including 34 items of subfactors by a Likert 5-point scale using Borich Needs Assessment Model. A locus for focus model (LF model) was used to derive the top priority key competencies for the education curriculum. Data were analyzed by SPSS v. 20.0. Results: The order of education needs of the program included interpersonal competency (1.442), communication competency (1.384), problem solving competency (1.185) and professional ethics competency (1.149). In the LF model, the required jey competencies included interpersonal competency, communication competency, professional ethics competency, and problem solving competency. Conclusion: The study results coincided with standard education curriculum guidelines. Our resluts can provide a valid reference for the department of emergency medical technology.
This study was conducted to develop a teaching competency scales customized for teaching programs conducted by Center for Teaching & Learning at A University. To achieve this purpose, a preliminary study was set up, which consists of three competency groups (basic competency, practice competency, innovation competency) and 26 learning competency factors through a review of previous studies. In order to verify the reliability and validity of the provisional teaching competency scales, an online survey was conducted on A university teachers in September 2020, The collected questionnaire data were organized and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, 26 teaching competency was reduced to 17. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, the model was found to be good, Also, as a result of analyzing the construct reliability and AVE of the confirmed teaching competency factors, all 17 factors showed a good level of .7 or more. The teaching competency scales developed through this study can be used as basic data for performance evaluation and development of new programs of CTL teaching program.
