ON SOME SEMI-INVARIANT SUBMANIFOLDS OF CODIMENSION 3 IN A COMPLEX PROJECTIVE SPACE

  • In this paper, We characterize a semi-invariant sub-manifold of codimension 3 satisfying ∇$\varepsilon$A = 0 in a complex projective space CP$\^$n+1/, where ∇$\varepsilon$A is the covariant derivative of the shape operator A in the direction of the distinguished normal with respect to the structure vector field $\varepsilon$.

  • Let N be a Closed n-manifold with residually finite, torsion free $\pi$$_1$(N) and finite H$_1$,(N). Suppose that $\pi$$\_$k/(N)=0 for 1 < k < n-1. We show that N is a codimension-n PL fibrator if and only if N does not cover itself regularly and cyclically up to homotopy type, provided $\pi$$_1$(N) satisfies a certain condition.

  • Approximate fibrations form a useful class of maps. By definition fibrators provide instant detection of maps in this class, and PL fibrators do the same in the PL category. We show that every closed s-hopfian t-aspherical manifold N with sparsely Abelian, hopfian fundamental group and X(N) $\neq$ 0 is a codimension-(t + 1) PL fibrator.

We show that every closed s-hopfian t-aspherical manifold N with some algebraic conditions and X(N) $\neq$ 0 is a codimension-(2t + 2) PL fibrator.

  • We discuss the decomposition of degree two basic cohomology for codimension four taut Riemannian foliation according to the holonomy invariant transversal almost complex structure J, and show that J is C pure and full. In addition, we obtain an estimate of the dimension of basic J-anti-invariant subgroup. These are the foliated version for the corresponding results of T. Draghici et al. [3].

  • The Terracini t-locus of an embedded variety X ⊂ ℙr is the set of all cardinality t subsets of the smooth part of X at which a certain differential drops rank, i.e., the union of the associated double points is linearly dependent. We give an easy to check criterion to exclude some sets from the Terracini loci. This criterion applies to tensors and partially symmetric tensors. We discuss the non-existence of codimension 1 Terracini t-loci when t is the generic X-rank.
