  • Given vectors x and y in a Hilbert space, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator T such that Tx = y. An interpolating operator for n vectors satisfies the equation $Tx_i\;=\;y_i,\;for\;i\;=\;1,\;2,\;\cdots,\;n$. In this paper the following is proved: Let H be a Hilbert space and L be a commutative subspace lattice on H. Let H and y be vectors in H. Let $M_x\;=\;\{{\sum{n}{i=1}}\;{\alpha}_iE_ix\;:\;n\;{\in}\;N,\;{\alpha}_i\;{\in}\;{\mathbb{C}}\;and\;E_i\;{\in}\;L\}\;and\;M_y\;=\;\{{\sum{n}{i=1}}\;{\alpha}_iE_iy\;:\;n\;{\in}\;N,\;{\alpha}_i\;{\in}\;{\mathbb{C}}\;and\;E_i\;{\in}\;L\}. Then the following are equivalent. (1) There exists an operator A in AlgL such that Ax = y, Af = 0 for all f in ${\overline{M_x}}^{\bot}$, AE = EA for all $E\;{\in}\;L\;and\;A^{*}\;=\;A$. (2) $sup\;\{\frac{{\parallel}{{\Sigma}_{i=1}}^{n}\;{\alpha}_iE_iy{\parallel}}{{\parallel}{{\Sigma}_{i=1}}^{n}\;{\alpha}_iE_iy{\parallel}}\;:\;n\;{\in}\;N,\;{\alpha}_i\;{\in}\;{\mathbb{C}}\;and\;E_i\;{\in}\;L\}\;<\;{\infty},\;{\overline{M_u}}\;{\subset}{\overline{M_x}}$ and < Ex, y >=< Ey, x > for all E in L.

  • The set of continuous maps of a space X to real usual space R equipped with the toplogy of pointwise convergence will be denoted by $C_p$(X). In this paper, we prove that; $C_p$(X) is hereditarily separable and hereditary Lindelof if and only if $X^n$ is hereditarily separable and hereditary Lindelof.

  • Let G be a finite group with k distinct conjugacy classes $C_1, C_2, \cdots, C_k$ and F an algebraically closed field such that char$(F){\dag}\left$\mid$ G \right$\mid$$. We denoted by $Irr_F$(G) the set of all irreducible F-characters of G and $Cf_F$(G) the set of all class functions of G into F. Then $Cf_F$(G) is a commutative F-algebra with an F-basis $Irr_F(G) = {\chi_1, \chi_2, \cdots, \chi_k}$.

  • We give an answer to the following question: Question. Let S be a subset of [0,1] containing a maximal element m > 0 and let C :=$\{I_{t}\;{\mid}\;t{\in}S\}$ be a decreasing chain of ideals of a BCK/BCI-algebra X. Then does there exists a fuzzy ideal ${\mu}(X)=S\;and\;C_{\mu}=C?$.

  • Let D' : $C^n$[0, 1] ${\rightarrow}$ M be a second order derivation from the Banach algebra of n times continuously differentiable functions on [0, 1] into a Banach $C^n$[0, 1]-module M and let D be the primitive of D'. If D' is continuous and D'(z) lies in the 1-differential subspace, then it is completely determined by D(z) and D'(z) where z(t)=t, $0{\leq}t{\leq}1$.

  • We show that mappings preserving unit distance are close to two-isometries. We also prove that a mapping f is a linear isometry up to translation when f is a two-expansive surjective mapping preserving unit distance. Then we apply these results to consider two-isometries between normed spaces, strictly convex normed spaces and unital $C^*$-algebras. Finally, we propose some remarks and problems about generalized two-isometries on Banach spaces.

  • A representation for non-commutative Banach algebras is discussed, which generalizes the Gelfand representation for commutative Banach algebras and the Gelfand-Naimark representation for $C^{\ast}$-algebras. Its basic properties are also investigated. In appendix, an example of Banach algebra that is neither semi-simple nor radical is presented.

  • In [K. J. Lee and C. H. Park, Some questions on fuzzifications of ideals in subtraction algebras, Commun. Korean Math. Soc. 22 (2007), no. 3, 359-363], Lee and Park posed three questions. In this paper, the affirmative answers to their questions are provided, and characterizations of fuzzy ideals are investigated.
