  • A vague graph is a generalized structure of a fuzzy graph that gives more precision, flexibility and compatibility to a system when compared with systems that are designed using fuzzy graphs. In this paper, we define two new operation on vague graphs namely normal product and tensor product and study about the degree of a vertex in vague graphs which are obtained from two given vague graphs G1 and G2 using the operations cartesian product, composition, tensor product and normal product. These operations are highly utilized by computer science, geometry, algebra, number theory and operation research. In addition to the existing operations these properties will also be helpful to study large vague graph as a combination of small, vague graphs and to derive its properties from those of the smaller ones.

  • The notion of *-medial pseudo BCI-algebras is introduced, and its characterization is discussed. The concepts of associative pseudo ideals (resp. pseudo p-ideals, pseudo q-ideals and pseudo a-ideals) are introduced, and related properties are investigated. Conditions for a pseudo ideal to be a pseudo p-ideal (resp. pseudo q-ideal) are provided. A characterization of an associative pseudo ideal is given. We finally show that every pseudo BCI-homomorphic image and preimage of an associative pseudo ideal (resp. a pseudo p-ideal, a pseudo q-ideal and a pseudo a-ideal) is also an associative pseudo ideal (resp. a pseudo p-ideal, a pseudo q-ideal and a pseudo a-ideal).

  • In this paper, we consider characteristics of waiting times in s1n91e-server 3-node tandem queues with finite buffers, a Poisson arrival process and deterministic service times at all nodes. There are three buffers : one at the first node is infinite and the others are finite. We obtain the fact that sojourn time or departure process is independent of the capacities of the finite buffers and does not depend on the order of service times, which are the same results in the literature. Moreover, the explicit expressions of stationary waiting times in all areas of the systems can be derived as functions of the finite buffer capacities. We also disclose a relationship of waiting times in subareas of the systems between two blocking policies communication and manufacturing. Some numerical examples are also provided.

  • Let (H, B, .nu.) be an abstract Wiener space where H is a separable Hilbert space with the inner product <.,.> and the norm vertical bar . vertical bar=.root.<.,.>, which is densely and continuously imbedded into a separable Banach space B with the norm ∥.∥ , and .nu. is a probability measure on the Borel .sigma.-algebra B(B) of B which satisfies (Fig.) where $B^{*}$ is the topological dual of B and (.,.) is the natural dual pairing between B and $B^{*}$. We will regard $B^{*}$.contnd.H.contnd.B in the natural way. Thus we have =(y, x) for all y in $B^{*}$ and x in H. Let $R^{n}$ and C denote the n-dimensional Euclidean space and the complex numbers respectively.ctively.

  • Let A be the mod p Steenrod algebra for p an arbitrary odd prime and S the sphere spectrum localized at p. In this paper, some useful propositions about the May spectral sequence are first given, and then, two new nontrivial homotopy elements ${\alpha}_1{\jmath}{\xi}_n\;(p{\geq}5,n\;{\geq}\;3)\;and\;{\gamma}_s{\alpha}_1{\jmath}{\xi}_n\;(p\;{\geq}\;7,\;n\;{\geq}\;4)$ are detected in the stable homotopy groups of spheres, where ${\xi}_n\;{\in}\;{\pi}_{p^nq+pq-2}M$ is obtained in [2]. The new ones are of degree 2(p - 1)($p^n+p+1$) - 4 and 2(p - 1)($p^n+sp^2$ + sp + (s - 1)) - 7 and are represented up to nonzero scalar by $b_0h_0h_n,\;b_0h_0h_n\tilde{\gamma}_s\;{\neq}\;0\;{\in}\;Ext^{*,*}_A^(Z_p,\;Z_p)$ in the Adams spectral sequence respectively, where $3\;{\leq}\;s\;<\;p-2$.

  • Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a factor von Neumann algebra with dimension greater than 1. We prove that if a linear map ${\delta}:\mathcal{A}{\rightarrow}\mathcal{A}$ satisfies $${\delta}([[a,b],c])=[[{\delta}(a),b],c]+[[a,{\delta}(b),c]+[[a,b],{\delta}(c)]$$ for any $a,b,c{\in}\mathcal{A}$ with ab = 0 (resp. ab = P, where P is a fixed nontrivial projection of $\mathcal{A}$), then there exist an operator $T{\in}\mathcal{A}$ and a linear map $f:\mathcal{A}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}I$ vanishing at every second commutator [[a, b], c] with ab = 0 (resp. ab = P) such that ${\delta}(a)=aT-Ta+f(a)$ for any $a{\in}\mathcal{A}$.

  • In this article, we establish translation theorems for the analytic Fourier-Feynman transform of functionals in non-stationary Gaussian processes on Wiener space. We then proceed to show that these general translation theorems can be applied to two well-known classes of functionals; namely, the Banach algebra S introduced by Cameron and Storvick, and the space ${\mathcal{B}}^{(P)}_{\mathcal{A}}$ consisting of functionals of the form $F(x)=f({\langle}{\alpha}_1,x{\rangle},{\ldots},{\langle}{\alpha}_n,x{\rangle})$, where ${\langle}{\alpha},x{\rangle}$ denotes the Paley-Wiener-Zygmund stochastic integral ${\int_{0}^{T}}{\alpha}(t)dx(t)$.

  • We focus on discrete event systems with a structure of parallel processing, synchronization, and no-concurrency. We use max-plus algebra, which is an effective approach for controller design for this type of system, for modeling and formulation. Since a typical feature of this type of system is that the initial schedule is frequently changed due to unpredictable disturbances, we use a simple model and numerical examples to examine the possibility of applying the concepts of the feeding buffer and the project buffer of critical chain project management (CCPM) on max-plus linear discrete event systems in order to control the occurrence of an undesirable state change. The application of a CCPM-based framework on a max-plus linear discrete event system was proven to be effective.

  • Bae and W. Park [3] proved the Hyers-Ulam stability of bi-homomorphisms and bi-derivations in $C^*$-ternary algebras. It is easy to show that the definitions of bi-homomorphisms and bi-derivations, given in [3], are meaningless. So we correct the definitions of bi-homomorphisms and bi-derivations. Under the conditions in the main theorems, we can show that the related mappings must be zero. In this paper, we correct the statements and the proofs of the results, and prove the corrected theorems.

  • Let K be a commutative ring with unity, R a prime K-algebra of characteristic different from 2, d a non-zero derivation of R, I a non-zero right ideal of R, f($x_1,{\cdots},\;x_n$) a multilinear polynomial in n non-commuting variables over K, a $\in$ R. Supppose that, for any $x_1,{\cdots},\;x_n\;\in\;I,\;a[d(f(x_1,{\cdots},\;x_n)),\;f(x_1,{\cdots},\;x_n)]$ = 0. If $[f(x_1,{\cdots},\;x_n),\;x_{n+1}]x_{n+2}$ is not an identity for I and $$S_4(I,\;I,\;I,\;I)\;I\;\neq\;0$$, then aI = ad(I) = 0.
