  • Our aim in this paper is to introduce a generalization of some notions in homological algebra. We define the concepts of chain U-complex, U-homology, chain (U, U')-map, chain (U, U')-homotopy and $\mu$-functor. We also obtain some interesting results. We use these results to find a generalization of Lambek Lemma, Snake Lemma, Connecting Homomorphism and Exact Triangle.

  • In this paper we define automata-linearly independence. An automaton M has a basis B iff M is free provided that we assume that the action of S on X $\times$ S is (x,sa) for all a, s $\in$ S and x $\in$ X. if a semigroup S is PRID every subautomaton of a free S-automaton is free.

  • Let M be a finitely generated G-projective R-module over a PVMD R. We prove that M is projective if and only if the canonical map θ : M⨂R M → HomR(HomR(M, M), R) is a surjective homomorphism. Particularly, if G-gldim(R) ⩽ ∞ and ExtiR(M, M) = 0 (i ⩾ 1), then M is projective.

  • In this paper, we study the sequentially open and closed subsets of sequential topological groups determined by sequentially continuous group homomorphism. In particular, we investigate the sequentially openness (closedness) and sequentially compactness of subsets of sequential topological groups by the aid of sequentially continuity, sequentially interior or closure operators. Moreover, we explore subgroup and sequential quotient group of a sequential topological group.

  • Let R be a ring and M an R-module. Then M is said to be regular w-flat provided that the natural homomorphism I ⊗R M → R ⊗R M is a w-monomorphism for any regular ideal I. We distinguish regular w-flat modules from regular flat modules and w-flat modules by idealization constructions. Then we give some characterizations of total quotient rings and Prüfer v-multiplication rings (PvMRs for short) utilizing the homological properties of regular w-flat modules.

  • Let A and B be two Banach algebras and $T:B{\rightarrow}A$ be a bounded homomorphism, with ${\parallel}T{\parallel}{\leq}1$. Recently, Dabhi, Jabbari and Haghnejad Azar (Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.) 31 (2015), no. 9, 1461-1474) obtained some results about the n-weak amenability of $A{\times}_TB$. In the present paper, we address a gap in the proof of these results and extend and improve them by discussing general necessary and sufficient conditions for $A{\times}_TB$ to be n-weakly amenable, for an integer $n{\geq}0$.

  • Denote the set of n ${\times}$ n complex Hermitian matrices by Hn. A pair of n ${\times}$ n Hermitian matrices (A, B) is said to be rank-additive if rank (A+B) = rank A+rank B. We characterize the linear maps from Hn into itself that preserve the set of rank-additive pairs. As applications, the linear preservers of adjoint matrix on Hn and the Jordan homomorphisms of Hn are also given. The analogous problems on the skew Hermitian matrix space are considered.

  • The disjoint union of mapping class groups of surfaces forms a braided monoidal category $\mathcal{M}$, as the disjoint union of the braid groups $\mathcal{B}$ does. We give a concrete and geometric meaning of the braidings ${\beta}_{r,s}$ in $\mathcal{M}$. Moreover, we find a set of elements in the mapping class groups which correspond to the standard generators of the braid groups. Using this, we can define an obvious map ${\phi}\;:\;B_g{\rightarrow}{\Gamma}_{g,1}$. We show that this map ${\phi}$ is injective and nongeometric in the sense of Wajnryb. Since this map extends to a braided monoidal functor ${\Phi}\;:\;\mathcal{B}{\rightarrow}\mathcal{M}$, the integral homology homomorphism induced by ${\phi}$ is trivial in the stable range.

  • Let R be an associative ring with identity, M a t.u.p. monoid with only one unit and ${\omega}:M{\rightarrow}End(R)$ a monoid homomorphism. Let R be a reversible, M-compatible ring and ${\alpha}=a_1g_1+{\cdots}+a_ng_n$ a non-zero element in skew monoid ring $R{\ast}M$. It is proved that if there exists a non-zero element ${\beta}=b_1h_1+{\cdots}+b_mh_m$ in $R{\ast}M$ with ${\alpha}{\beta}=c$ is a constant, then there exist $1{\leq}i_0{\leq}n$, $1{\leq}j_0{\leq}m$ such that $g_{i_0}=e=h_{j_0}$ and $a_{i_0}b_{j_0}=c$ and there exist elements a, $0{\neq}r$ in R with ${\alpha}r=ca$. As a consequence, it is proved that ${\alpha}{\in}R*M$ is unit if and only if there exists $1{\leq}i_0{\leq}n$ such that $g_{i_0}=e$, $a_{i_0}$ is unit and aj is nilpotent for each $j{\neq}i_0$, where R is a reversible or right duo ring. Furthermore, we determine the relation between clean and nil clean elements of R and those elements in skew monoid ring $R{\ast}M$, where R is a reversible or right duo ring.
