  • Let D be a division ring and n > 1 be an integer. In this paper, it is shown that if D ≠ 3, then every subpermutable subgroup of the general skew linear group GLn(D) is normal. By applying this result, we show that every subpermutable subgroup of the unit group (ℝG)∗ of the real group algebras RG of finite groups G is normal in (ℝG)∗.

  • In this paper, we study some properties of Bézout and weakly Bézout rings. Then, we investigate the transfer of these notions to trivial ring extensions and amalgamated algebras along an ideal. Also, in the context of domains we show that the amalgamated is a Bézout ring if and only if it is a weakly Bézout ring. All along the paper, we put the new results to enrich the current literature with new families of examples of non-Bézout weakly Bézout rings.

  • In this paper, we show that under certain conditions the Wedderburn decomposition of a finite semisimple group algebra 𝔽qG can be deduced from a subalgebra 𝔽q(G/H) of factor group G/H of G, where H is a normal subgroup of G of prime order P. Here, we assume that q = pr for some prime p and the center of each Wedderburn component of 𝔽qG is the coefficient field 𝔽q.

  • In this paper an improved version of a fixed point theorem of the present author [3] in Banach algebras is obtained under the weaker conditions with a different method and using measure of non-compactness. The newly developed fixed point theorem is further-applied to certain nonlinear integral equations of mixed type for proving the existence theorems and stability of the solution in Banach algebras.

  • In this paper, we use an infinite dimensional conditioning function to define a conditional Fourier-Feynman transform (CFFT) and a conditional convolution product (CCP) on the Wiener space. We establish the existences of the CFFT and the CCP for bounded functions which form a Banach algebra. We then provide fundamental relationships between the CFFTs and the CCPs.

  • In this note, we shed new light on Krull domains from the point view of Gorenstein homological algebra. By using the so-called w-operation, we show that an integral domain R is Krull if and only if for any nonzero proper w-ideal I, the Gorenstein global dimension of the w-factor ring (R/I)w is zero. Further, we obtain that an integral domain R is Dedekind if and only if for any nonzero proper ideal I, the Gorenstein global dimension of the factor ring R/I is zero.

  • The purpose of this paper was to evaluate how students apply prior knowledge or experience in solving algebra word problems from the chain of signification-based perspective. Three middle school students were evaluated in this case study. The results showed that the subjects formed similarities in the process of applying knowledge needed for solving a problem. The student A and C used semi-open-end formulas and closed formulas as solutions. They then formed concrete shape for each solution using the chain of signification that was applied for solution by forming procedural similarity. At this time, the chain of signification could be the combination of numbers, words, and pictures (such as diagrams or graphs) or just numbers or words. On the other hand, the student C who recognized closed formulas and her own rule as a solution method could not formulate completely procedural similarity due to many errors arising from number information. Nonetheless, all of the subjects showed something in common in the process of coming up with a algorithm that was semi-open-end formula or closed formula.
