This study has an objective not only to be helpful to the understanding about students' career and employment preparation by investigating the present conditions which are related with vocational consciousness and job values of dental hygiene department graduating students. Study subjects were 350 female graduating students in 3-year-course College, dental hygiene department at five areas of Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon and Gyeongnam. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 19.0. Regarding job values, job prospect of dental hygienist is a little developmental (55.2%) and institution hoping to work is dental clinic (43.2%), reasons for employment in major area are good wage and working environment (24.0%). And regarding opinion about job, dental hygienist job is a measure for living income (69.7%). Regarding job selection conditions, 35.0% subjects replied good human relationship. In the questionnaires regarding professional job in vocational consciousness category, results showed high percentages in that 'the occupation is a job in charge of oral health improvement'; regarding academic area, 'scaling should be done better than dentist'; regarding human relationship, 'harmony between colleagues is closely related with job efficiency'; regarding work ethics, 'development of dental hospital (clinic) and dental hygienist is correlated.' In vocational consciousness of study subjects, higher major satisfaction showed significant differences in professional job consciousness and work ethics consciousness (p<0.05) and the correlation results in vocational consciousness areas showed all statistically significant correlations (p<0.01). In case that the characteristic in one type is higher among 4 types, all other types showed high characteristics and also showed high general vocational consciousness.
The purpose of this article is to critically reflect on the 2022 national curriculum on religions. The perspective of this reflection is that since the religious curriculum is meant to be a national curriculum, it should be applicable to all high school students, be shareable, and function as a place for meta-reflection regarding the proper use of the category of religion. For this purpose, I reviewed the form and content of the 2022 curriculum on religions in Section 2. The form of the 2022 curriculum on religions looks similar to the previously utilized curriculum. However, the main change is that the subject of religions was arbitrarily placed into the category of 'subjects for choosing a career.' And the 2022 curriculum on religions has two characteristics in terms of content: the orientation of 'making religious people (spiritual formation)' and the reemergence of the concept of 'pseudo-religion.' In Section 3, I delved into the orientation of 'making religious people through religious reflection' among the characteristics of the 2022 curriculum on religions. In this process, I discovered that the concept of 'reflection as a metacognitive technology,' which was the core of the prior curriculum and school education, was transformed into the concept of 'religious reflection,' and the concepts of spirituality and religiosity were also added. In Section 4, I delved into the dichotomy of 'religion and pseudo-religion.' 'Pseudo-religion' is a new focus in the 2022 curriculum on religions. In this process, I revealed that the concept of 'pseudo-religion' is a combination of an outdated administrative term of the Japanese Government-General of Korea during Japan's occupation of Korea, and as such, the term is inherently value-laden and harmful. I also revealed that determining 'pseudo-religion' in school education regenerates the colonial Japanese Government-General's biased attitudes toward Korean religions and forces teachers to 'invent' (detect or personally appraise) modern day pseudo-religions through arbitrary judgements. The 'curriculum to emphasize religious reflection and detect pseudo-religions in order to create religious people' can distort the subject of religion in the national curriculum as into a 'subject for religion (promotion or degradation).' If this distortion continues, the appropriateness of curriculum on religions existing within the national curriculum will eventually become a subject of debate.
The purpose of this study was to survey by the veterinary hospital Specialists (VHSs) and radiology students (RSs) for radiology curriculum development veterinary hospital (VH), and for veterinary hospital radiological technologists (VHRTs). VHSs were surveyed to regarding the basic information and radiological examination training, radiological examination experience, anatomy physiology, radiation safety management training, radiation biology training. RSs were surveyed to regarding the basic information and career paths, VH awareness, and VH-related department environments. The survey results were quantitatively entered into Excel and then analyzed using the SPSS ver. 26.0. The students were aged by 22.6 years old, and out of 171 students, male and female were 92 and 79 espectively. In employment career paths, 62.6% of all subjects responded that employment prospects at medical institutions were good. Employment prospects outside of medical institutions, VH had the highest number of students. Of the 83 students who responded that they wanted to work at a VH, 64 students liked animals, and 47 students the high potential for advancement. Of the 159 students who responded that there is potential for development of VH, 96.2% responded that it was due to the increase in companion animals. In the VH-related department environment, 94.7% responded that there was no related equipment, and 72.5% responded that the department needed to open animal care courses and 82.5% anatomy and physiology courses. 76.6% responded that they would be willing to take animal-related courses if they were offered. Among the 20 VHSAs, 4 had no experience in radiological examination of animals, 2 VHRTs, and 2 others. There were 7 people who had not received training in animal radiography, and 2 VHRTs had not received training in animal care and animal anatomy and physiology. This study is expected to be helpful in developing a radiology curriculum for VHRTs in the future.
The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of science classes on positive science experiences and science learner identity, using smart devices in a future school: C middle school. We conducted a paired t test at the beginning and end of the first school year with first-grade students at the future school to investigate positive experiences with science (Shin et al., 2017). Additionally, first and second-grade students in future schools using smart devices wrote and drew their own depictions in science classes to explore science learner identity, based on a modified analytical framework (Luehmann, 2009). The results show that significant effects on science-related career aspirations, self-concepts, and academic emotions were produced by science classes using smart devices. Science classes using smart devices helped students improve their level of agency and activity, solve problems with immediate and sufficient feedback, and experience meaningful perceptions of the nature of science. On the other hand, if students were immature in terms of their use of smart devices, they felt pressured to participate in the classes. The results of this study can be used as a foundation for designing various classroom contexts for the use of smart devices.
Students' perceived values of career play a core role in formation of their career motivation. In particular, science gifted students should build sound values of career in science and technology so that our society can retain the human resources for future science and technology. This study compared and analyzed the structure of science gifted and general middle school students' preferred job and values of career using semantic network analysis. Methodologically, we first collected science gifted and general middle school students' preferred careers and the reasons of the career choice using survey method. Then, we structuralize semantic networks of students' perceived values of their preferred careers using semantic network analysis. We identified the characters of networks that two different student groups showed based on the structure matrix indices of semantic network analysis. Findings revealed that science gifted students considered the creativeness as the most important value of career. Second, science gifted students considered more diverse values of career than general students. Third, science gifted students considered the self-realization such as displaying capability as a core value of career in STEM and medical science whereas general students considered the community service as a core value of the careers. This study identified the significant differences between science gifted and general middle school students' values of careers. The structures of students perceived values of careers can be used for teachers to counsel their students about students' future careers.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how 'free inquiry' was implemented in middle school science classrooms. In order to do this, survey and interviews were administered. The subject of survey was 165 science teachers at 58 middle schools and interviewees were 4 teachers and 10 students. As a result, 49.6% of science teachers in school year 2010, and 34.1% in 2011 applied 'free inquiry'. Teachers applied 'free inquiry' during one semester, and they let the students select topic of 'free inquiry'. Teachers grouped students according to students' opinion or their gender and ability, and one group was consisted of 4 students. The effect of applying 'free inquiry' was that students improved the interest on science, science inquiry ability and self directed learning capability. Students were interested in doing 'free inquiry', and they wanted to do it again. Teachers claimed that it took much time and effort to apply 'free inquiry', and students lacked science inquiry skills and interest on science. The teachers who did not apply 'free inquiry' stated reasons such as the shortage of instructional time, and they didn't think that 'free inquiry' should be implemented. For the effective implementation of 'free inquiry', this study suggested that teachers should be recognized the intention of 'free inquiry', teaching-learning materials about 'free inquiry' be developed and provided, and laboratory assistants be employed.

This study was designed to investigate the factors that influence soldiers' military adjustment in the rear air force. The data were collected through a survey of 160 soldiers in N city from Nov. 16th to Dec. 11th, 2015, using appropriate instruments to assess their military adjustment, type of communication, resilience and mental health, and analyzed using IBM SPSS WIN 21. The mean scores for military adjustment, resilience, mental well-being and disorder were $1.25{\pm}0.33$, $3.69{\pm}0.56$, $2.98{\pm}0.94$ and $1.24{\pm}0.36$, respectively. In the analysis of their general characteristics, there were significant differences in age, perceived health and future career. Significantly positive correlations were found between adjustment and placating, blaming and irrelevant communication and mental disorder and significantly negative correlations were found between adjustment and resilience and mental well-being. Mental disorder and blaming communication accounted for 41% of the variance in the military adjustment. The result of this study shows that soldiers' military adjustment is related to mental disorder and blaming communication.

Accelerated technological advances and the convergence of information and communication technologies have led to changes of career concepts from one of lifetime employment to that of lifetime career. Given the importance of continuous career development for workers these days, systematic supports for workers' career development at the national level is necessary. Accordingly, a conceptual model of career competency mobility map (CCMM) has been proposed to support the development of workers' career competencies. The purpose of this study is to identify key issues that we should consider for real implementation by applying to each stage of the CCMM conceptual model as a case study. Based on the procedure presented in the conceptual model, the research process which includes collecting user information, conducting self-diagnosis of NCS-based job competencies, deriving necessary training competency, offering the guidance of training programs and job information were conducted. The results of the case study showed our participants' scores of competencies required further development and ranged from 1.83 to 4.52. Sequentially, a personalized information profile was offered for competency development, including training, certificates, and job information. Participants stated that the diagnosis results and profiles were meaningful and helped to explore further career development. Based on the results, implications are suggested.
Many researches related to STEAM education have been actively conducted for developing elementary and secondary school students' comprehensive and logical thinking ability in relation to creativity education in Korea. Each sub factor of STEAM education requires creative thinking with the ability to be merged together to solve problems as integrated or combined forms in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Also, these STEAM activities and experiences should be carried out at various places outside the classroom in school. Although various educational programs to enhance mathematical creativity have been emphasized for elementary and secondary school students, recent tendency to focus on classroom learning in the school makes it difficult to develop creative thinking ability of students. This research is mainly based on the result of the project "Development and Administration of STEAM Outreach Program in 2016" supported by KOFAC(Korea Foundation for the Achievement of Science & Creativity). The purpose of this research is to develop a STEAM outreach program including students' activity books, teachers' manuals and administration manual that can maximize STEAM-related interest of students, and to provide a chance for elementary and secondary school students to experience creative thinking based on sub factors of STEAM. The STEAM competency total score and the perception of convergence education were significantly increased for all students participating this program, but some sub factors showed different result by school levels. The STEAM outreach program developed by this study is designed to emphasize STEAM education especially 'based on' mathematics in order to provide students with the opportunity to experience more interest in the field of mathematics and will be able to provide an interesting creative STEAM outreach program that utilizes a variety of activities which, we expect, would help students to consider their career in the future.
Despite recent attention to entrepreneurial gift, there has been minimal empirical research regarding characteristics of individual entrepreneurial gift. The aim of this study is to specify and conceptualize characteristics of entrepreneurial gift from systematic empirical investigation. We operationalized the entrepreneurial gift as students participating in 'intellectual property based future creative entrepreneurs' administered by Korean patent office, and compared characteristics of the entrepreneurial gift with those of the gifted students in invention. A total 226 middle and high school students selected as the gifted students in invention, intention scholars, or future creative entrepreneurs by Korean patent office participated in this survey. The survey was designed to measure major adolescent areas such as psychological, intellectual, educational, vocational areas, life purpose and its perception area, innovation-related area, invention-related area, and personal and environmental information. The result showed that entrepreneurial gift has higher score in entrepreneurial potential, in addition to the characteristics that the talented students in invention has. Entrepreneurial gift has similar characteristics in the area of invention-related and environmental conditions, while they showed higher ability in terms of invention-related area and intellectual area. Implications, limitation, and future research direction were discussed.
