The Effects of Emotional Intelligence on Happiness among Early Ehildhood Teachers: The Mediating Effects of Job Stress and Teaching Efficacy (영유아교사의 정서지능이 행복감에 미치는 영향: 직무스트레스 및 교사효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the effects of emotional intelligence, teaching efficacy and job stress on happiness among early childhood teachers. Data were collected from 246 early childhood teachers. To collect the data, emotional intelligence, teaching efficacy, job stress, and happiness instruments were used. All research variables were measured using self-reported questionnaires, and were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, t-test, Pearson's correlation and pathway analysis. The results indicated teachers' happiness had no difference by demographic variables. Emotional intelligence had a direct effect and an indirect effect through teaching efficacy and job stress on happiness among early childhood teachers. Teaching efficacy and job stress had a direct effect on happiness among early childhood teachers. Additionally, emotional intelligence was the most important variable predicting early childhood teachers' happiness. Teaching efficacy and job stress had a mediating effect between emotional intelligence and happiness.

A Study on the Effect of Job-stress on Job Satisfaction of Nursing Care Workers in cSeoul-type Day Care Center : Focusing on the Moderating effect of Ego-resiliency (서울형 데이케어센터 요양보호사의 직무스트레스가 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 자아탄력성을 조절변인으로)

  • In order to verify that the ego-resiliency regulates the effect of nursing care workers job stress on the job satisfaction, this research ascertained the effect of job stress of the nursing care workers working at Seoul-type Day Care Center and confirmed the moderating effect of ego-resiliency on the process where nursing care workers job stress affects the job satisfaction. A survey of 256 employees at 28 Seoul-type Day Care Centers were conducted on job stress, job satisfaction, and ego-resiliency, and 138 nursing care workers were analyzed. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS PROCESS Macro, which was presented by SPSS 25.0 and Hayes. The results of the study are as follows. First, nursing care workers had higher job stress and lower job satisfaction compared to other job groups. Second, job stress identified the negative effect job satisfaction. Third, ego-resiliency confirmed positive moderating effect between job stress and job satisfaction.

Research on Nurses' Stress for Elderly care and Stress - Coping Strategies (간호사의 노인환자 간호에 의한 스트레스와 그 대처방법 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate stresses from job, patients and guardians experienced by general hospital nurses caring for elderly patients and their stress coping methods. For this study, data were collected from 280 nurses employed at general hospitals with the capacity of more than 400 beds which were located in Seoul. Frequency analysis, t-test and one-way ANOVA were utilized to analyze the data and Scheffe test was used to conduct post-hoc tests. This study found that, of the general hospital nurses' three types of stresses, stress from guardians was the most serious one, followed by stress from patients and stress from job; and that, of the six coping methods utilized by the general hospital nurses, social support was the most-utilized one, followed by problem-focused coping strategy, positive perspective, tension relaxation, indifference and hopeful perspective. Based on these findings, follow-up studies were suggested to develop the hospital nurses' abilities to cope with the ever-changing complex circumstances for the elderly patients.

  • The main purpose of this study is to develop and empirically validate the research model that examines the relationship between technostress and employees' continuance commitment at their jobs. In addition, the moderating effects of involvement facilitation and technical support provision were examined as enhancing factors on the relationship among the proposed constructs. The data from 179 employees at various organizations were analyzed to test proposed hypotheses. Results show that all proposed hypotheses were supported. This study contributes to IS community in terms of theoretically research framework as well as understanding of technostress at a workplace.

The study on the determinants of Father's parenting stress (유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육스트레스 영향 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to develop a model to explain the factors influencing father's parenting stress, and to verify the appropriateness of the model. The participants included 1609 fathers with a 5-year old. The study used 2012 Panel Study of Korean Children (PSKC) by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE), and analyzed with SPSS and AMOS programs. The analysis showed that first, father's income and parental efficacy were negatively related with parenting stress and father's depression and marital conflict were positively related with parenting stress. Second, father's parenting stress was directly and indirectly impacted by parental efficacy and their child's temperament. These results suggest that father education are needed for promoting positive paternal mental health and parental efficacy, to reduce parenting stress of fathers.

Convergence Study on Nursing Students' Stress and Satisfaction with Clinical Practice (간호학생의 임상실습 스트레스와 임상실습 만족도에 관한 융합적인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between stress and satisfaction with clinical practice of 113 nursing students. The subjects scored 3.17 points of full 5 on stress with clinical practice and 3.24 of full 5 on satisfaction with clinical practice. There were no significant correlations between their stress with clinical practice and satisfaction with clinical practice(r=-.048, p=.615). The findings of this study provide the basis for expanding nursing practice and education for nursing students, and nursing administrators and professors should make efforts to increase nursing students' satisfaction with clinical practice and decrease stress with clinical practice.

Relationship of Multicultural Adolescents' Stress, Depression, Family Resilience and Internet Game Addiction (다문화청소년의 스트레스, 우울과 가족탄력성 및 인터넷게임중독의 관계에 대한 융합연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to find the correlation of variables, and to explore the mediating role of family resilience between stress, depression and internet game addiction. The subject of the survey was 204 multicultural adolescents. The data were analyzed with frequency, Pearson's correlation and structural equation modeling by SPSS and AMOS. The major findings were as follows; stress and depression were positively correlated with internet game addiction. Family resilience was negatively correlated with internet game addiction. Stress and depression influenced negatively family resilience. Family resilience influenced negatively internet game addiction. Family resilience mediated the effects of stress, depression and internet game addiction. In conclusion, it is important to intervene multicultural adolescents' internet game addiction through special education program and counseling in order to build family resilience.

Validity of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale in Occupational Therapists (한국인 직무스트레스 측정도구의 타당도: 작업치료사를 대상으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and the validity of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS) in occupational therapists. The data were collected from 214 occupational therapists by using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale. The gathered data were conducted the factor analyses and validation process to ascertain the validity. The results of this study suggested that to estimate occupational stress of occupational therapist, modified version of the KOSS which was consist of eight subscales might be more an appropriate measurement scale than the original version of the KOSS which was composed of seven subscales. Eight subscales of the scale were occupational climate, organizational system, insufficient job control, lack of reward, job demand, interpersonal conflict, job ability and job insecurity, and out of these, job ability was newly added for occupational therapist. Also the results indicated that Cronbach's alpha score of this measurement tool was 0.84, and it means that internal consistency of this scale has good reliability, and the number of questions are also valid. This study has significance to suggest necessary psychometric characteristics of the occupational stress scale for job stress study in occupational therapist.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Color Consulting Services to Improve the School Environment, Seoul Report Results (서울시 학교환경개선 컬러컨설팅 효과성 평가 용역 결과보고)

  • 본 연구는 청소년 스트레스 호르몬 변화를 보기위한 연구로 컬러 컨설팅 환경개선에 따른 스트레스 호르몬 변화를 연구하였다. 청소년 스트레스 연구들에 따르면, 아동이나 청소년도 성인만큼 스트레스를 경험하고 있고 청소년들의 스트레스는 정서적 부적응과 신체적 건강에도 영향을 미친다. 스트레스가 지속되면 부신피질에서 스테로이드 호르몬인 코티솔도 분비하는 근거를 통해 환경변화로 생긴 코티솔 분비를 측정하였다. 코티솔 분비를 통한 스트레스 반응 정도 측정은 침해성을 최소화하기 위한 간편한 방법인 타액검사로 실시하였으며 비 침습적인 방법으로 특별한 장비나 도움이 없이 수집할 수 있었고 부작용이 적은 효율적 검사였다. 연구 결과 전체 학생(46명)의 코티솔은 환경개선 사전($0.121{\pm}0.087{\mu}g/dL$)에 비해 사후($0.096{\pm}0.058{\mu}g/dL$)에 감소하였고(t=1.718, p=.093) 중고등학생(36명)의 코디솔은 사전($0.137{\pm}0.092{\mu}g/dL$)에 비해 사후($0.104{\pm}0.062{\mu}g/dL$)에 감소하였으며, 유의수준 10%에서 통계적으로도 유의미한 차이를 보였다(t=1.750, p=.089). 따라서 환경 개선 전에 비해 환경 개선 후 청소년들의 스트레스가 감소되었음을 알 수 있다. 하지만 초등학생(10명)의 코티솔은 사전($0.064{\pm}0.023{\mu}g/dL$)에 비해 사후($0.065{\pm}0.016{\mu}g/dL$)에 변화를 보이지 않아, 유의수준 5%에서 통계적으로 유의미한 변화는 나타나지 않았다(t=-0.121, p=0.906). 따라서 후두엽이 발달하는 중학생 시기는 환경 변화에 민감하며 색채 자극에 크게 영향을 미치는 시기인 만큼 본 연구에서 환경전후로 검사한 코티솔 분비의 측정값도 감소함을 볼 수 있었다. 하지만 본 연구는 환경 변화에 코티솔 분비량에 유의미한 변화를 나타내지 않은 초등학생들은 스트레스 호르몬 변화에는 차이가 없었지만 환경변화의 자극이 없었다고 볼 수는 없다.

The Relationship between Multi-cultural Family Husbands' Stress Related to their Wives and their Psychological Abuse (다문화가족 남편의 아내에 대한 스트레스와 심리적 학대의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between multi-cultural family husbands' stress related to their wife and their psychological abuse based on the Stress theory of Lazarus et al. Data from 271 subjects that answered to all questions regarding the subjects' social demographic characteristics, and the husbands' stress related to their wife and their psychological abuse of their wife in statistical analyses. To analyze the data, a study model was set using multi-cultural family husbands' stress related to their wife as an independent variable and their psychological abuse of their wife as a dependent variable and the goodness-of-fit of the model for the data and the relationship between the variables were reviewed using a structural equation model. According to the results, the goodness-of-fit index of the model satisfied the statistical acceptable standard with CFI=0.909 and RMSEA=0.057. The relationship between the variables indicated that multi-cultural family husbands' stress related to their wife had significant effects on their psychological abuse of their wife. This result indicates the necessity of intervention for management of the husbands' stress in order to prevent multi-cultural family husbands' psychological abuse of their wife.
