  • It would be reasonable as a teacher to make efforts not only to reflect on the class on their own but also to improve the teacher' teaching e pertise by reflecting on the class with fellow teachers through lesson reflection sharing. This paper attempted to develop a lesson reflective framework that can provide standards and focus for lesson reflection and lesson sharing. First, based on the class evaluation criteria of previous studies, class reflection elements and a draft of lesson reflection were prepared. In a class conducted on 27 third graders at C High School where the co-researcher worked as a teacher, four peer teachers at the same high school were required to write personal opinions on the class based on the draft of lesson reflection. Based on this, lesson sharing was conducted, and modifications of the lesson reflection framework were developed by analyzing the case of class sharing. The implications of this paper indicate the need to clarify the perspective of viewing the lesson by sharing the intention of each question in advance. In addition to writing lesson reflections, it is necessary to share classes simultaneously.

  • The purpose of this study is to draw implications about a practice of university faculty member's teaching reflection by considering the concept, process, and content of reflection as a theoretical basis of teaching reflection. The concept of reflection is based upon 'reflection-in-action' suggested by $Sch{\ddot{o}}n$, and the process and content of reflection is explained through Korthagen's Core Reflection model. The following three implications conclude: First, a faculty member should write a reflection journal by observing and reflecting consistently one's own behavior in a context of teaching. Second, the center for teaching and learning should provide an orientation and consultation about the content and process of teaching reflection. Finally, sharing lessons with the colleague faculty member is required to make an effective reflection for each faculty member.

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the changing process in a middle school teacher's discourse capability through reflection to lessons, thereby providing the implications for activities to improve the quality of lessons. To that end, this study explored the characteristics of change in the teacher's discourse capability of promoting students' participation while the teacher repeated instruction implementation and meeting for reflecting the implementation. Through the reflection, the teacher noticed his own matters about dealing with the students' responses and presentations. By attempting to address the matters in the instructions and reflecting the attempt, the teacher was able to accelerate the students' participation in the lesson discourse through enhancing productivity and openness of the discourse. The result of this study demonstrated that lesson reflection beneficially influenced development of teaching profession related to discourse capability.

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of reflection on learning outcomes in higher education. Undergraduates enrolled in 3 courses about computer education were involved in the study. They wrote reflective notes with guided questions over six times throughout a semester, and then their task value, learning engagement and academic achievement were measured followed by a survey and interviews to investigate students' responses. As a result, positive influence of the reflective activities was found in cognitive, behavioral and emotional learning engagement and learning achievement. For further studies, the development of reflective strategies for learning motivation and collaborative reflection was suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of writing academic reflection journals and feedback activity experiences in untact online classes for engineering students who have taken communication liberal arts classes, and to find out the effect of these learning strategies to promote students' learning motivation, to check whether it is useful for class participation and immersion. In order to find out the effect of class, pre- and post-tests on learning motivation were conducted, and the students' reflection journals and in-depth interviews were analyzed using the topic analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. As a result of the study, it was found that the reflection journal and feedback activity had a significant effect on individual learning understanding, immersion, attitude, etc. The study is meaningful in that it was able to confirm students' active learning attitudes and positive teaching effects with appropriate learning strategies according to changes in the untact educational environment. Various teaching-learning strategies according to changes in the educational environment should be sought and applied in many ways.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develope a reflective journal and examine its effects on student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For this study, 'a structured reflective journal' was designed through the steps of systems approach with the purpose of enhancing student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies, especially meta-cognition and critical thinking. The reflective journal used in this study contained the constructive elements of (1) self-evaluation with 5 likert scale, (2) learning essay, (3) dialogue with peers, and (4) dialogue with professor. A total of 94 freshmen enrolled in one of two sections of the engineering courses(theory-based class and experiment and practice-based class) participated in the study for 8 weeks. A pre-test-post-test design was used to examine the effects of the application of reflective journal on student's achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For the result, analysis of covariance was conducted to determine whether there were any academic achievement differences and self-regulated learning strategy differences. The results suggested that students were taking advantages of the reflective journal, and there were statistically significant differences in academic achievement in the experiment and practice-based class and self-regulated learning strategies in both classes.

  • This study examined the development of a teacher's teaching practice and identified argumentation-specific pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) and the influence of the argumentation-specific PCK on teaching practice in an argumentation classroom. The teacher has a Ph.D degree in science education, a 19-year teaching career, and no experience in instructing in an argumentation classroom. The developed program consists of nine lessons regarding photosynthesis for 7th graders. The teacher participated in a collaborative reflection with researchers after each lesson once a week and five times in total, which lasted for thirty minutes. All of the lessons were video- and audio-recorded and the transcript of lessons and collaborative reflection, pre- and post-survey related to argumentation, and researchers' journals were analyzed. Analysis of the data showed that the teacher emphasized group interaction showing utterances of listening, evaluating arguments, counter-arguing/debating, and reflecting on argument process after the fourth lesson although the teacher focused on individual argumentation showing utterances of talking, knowing meaning of argument, and justifying with evidence in the first three lessons. Also, the argumentation-specific PCK, which was identified with the understanding of students, nature of argumentation and argumentation task strategy, also influenced the development of teaching practice. The teacher comprehended the students' challenges in argumentation, developed her understanding of the nature of argumentation from an individual plane to social plane, and demonstrated a deep understanding of the task strategy by voluntarily joining in modifying the argumentation tasks.
