  • This study was conducted on the visitors regarding their usage and evaluation state of the interpretive media which is utilized as a self-guide environment interpretation for the purpose of accumulating basic data for the park management. A questionnaire survey was chosen and the 275 valid samples among them were analyzed. The socioeconomic and behavioral characteristics of the visitors turned out to be similar with the results from another visitor survey in the same site. Among those who used the interpretive media, the largest proportion(77%) used the information board resources of the park; the usage rate of interpretive labels of woody plants, interpretive signs of cultural assets, and LED signs were shown to be relatively high. The usage of park brochures, park web sites, visitor center exhibits, and bulletin boards were less than 40% each. Visitors were asked to evaluate the importance and performance of the nine interpretive medias using a Likert Scale whose value ranges from one to five. The result recorded averaged above 4, which proved that the respondents were perceiving the importance of all forms of interpretive media greatly. The performance of interpretive media was also evaluated as affirmative, except the visitor center exhibits.

  • Creative environment for sales that a company's image can be effectively delivered to consumers increases consumption desirability and puts confidence in products. Thus, it can be resulted in increasing company's profit. However, nowadays commercial spaces do not show their differences from others due to an excessive competition. Therefore, groping a differentiated composition for commercial spaces should be importantly considered because consumers wants to meet their own individuality in the fashion speciality store. The purpose of this paper is in present the way of differentiating images for commercial spaces. In order to investigate, the role of a wall in commercial spaces should be reconsidered. The concept of a wall in fashion store in the past was understood as one of the structures in the building and a place that displays commodities for sales. However, this paper introduces a new concept of a wall as an important visual function in the fashion store. In other words, the new concept emphasized functions and compositions of a wall in the perspective of symbolic and visual sides, instead of a physical side. Moreover, this paper presents the relationship between the internal side of a wall which has a high frequency of visually and the external side of a wall which has a signaling effect to the consumers. Finally, this paper shows effective way of expressing company's image in the fashion store by adopting the new concept of a wall composition.

  • Steady state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) has been actively studied because of its short training time, relatively higher signal-to-noise ratio, and higher information transfer rate. There are two popular analysis methods for SSVEP signals: power spectral density analysis (PSDA) and canonical correlation analysis (CCA). However, the PSDA is known to be vulnerable to noise due to the use of a single channel. Although conventional CCA is more accurate than PSDA, it may not be appropriate for the real-time SSVEP-based BCI system when it has short time window length because it uses sinusoidal signals as references. Therefore, the two methods are not efficient for the real-time BCI system that requires a short TW and a high recognition accuracy. To overcome this limitation of the conventional methods, this paper proposes a frequency recognition method with a combination of CCA and PSDA using the difference between powers of canonical variables obtained from the results of CCA. Experimental results show that the performance of the combination of CCA and PSDA is better than that of CCA for the case of a short TW.

  • This study aims to reinvestigate the reason for introducing radian as a new unit to express the size of angles, what is the meaning of radian measures to use arc lengths as angle measures, and why is the domain of trigonometric functions expanded to real numbers for expressing general angles. For this purpose, it was conducted historical, mathematical and applied mathematical analyzes in order to research at multidisciplinary analysis of the radian concept. As a result, the following were revealed. First, radian measure is intrinsic essence in angle measure. The radian is itself, and theoretical absolute unit. The radian makes trigonometric functions as real functions. Second, radians should be aware of invariance through covariance of ratios and proportions in concentric circles. The orthogonality between cosine and sine gives a crucial inevitability to the radian. It should be aware that radian is the simplest standards for measuring the length of arcs by the length of radius. It can find the connection with sexadecimal method using the division strategy. Third, I revealed the necessity by distinction between angle and angle measure. It needs justification for omission of radians and multiplication relationship strategy between arc and radius. The didactical suggestions derived by these can reveal the usefulness and value of the radian concept and can contribute to the substantive teaching of radian measure.

  • I have examined some beliefs in the Thunder God and their magico-ritual techniques in Korea from the perspective of Korean national religious history and have classified these types of beliefs. In several myths from ancient nations in Korea, the Thunder God was the Supreme being governing the Universe including the sky, earth, and water, and he justified political power transcendently. In the medieval period, the Thunder God who was called 'the Supreme God and Celestial Worthy of the Ninth Heaven Who Spreads the Sound of the Thunder Corresponding to Primordial Origin' was the object of Daoist ritual for rain. In the early Joseon period, people believed that the prehistoric stone tools known as thunder axes were the tools of the Thunder God, and thereby were imbued with medicinal power. In the late Joseon period, beliefs in the Thunder God developed in various ways such as the overcoming of wars and healing of diseases. Modern Korean national religions including Daesoon Jinrihoe reappropriated the Thunder God called 'the Supreme God and Celestial Worthy of the Ninth Heaven Who Spreads the Sound of the Thunder Corresponding to Primordial Origin' from the perspective of the Great Opening (Kaebyŏk) and the resolution of grievances (Haewon).
