  • We describe the preparation and characterization of epitaxial thin films made with high temperature superconductor, $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$. The influence of processing parameters for YBCO thin films on MgO substrates in-situ grown by the pulsed laser deposition, including parameters of a laser beam energy, oxygen pressure, substrate temperature, target-substrate dis-tance is discussed. The characteristics of YBCO thin films were analyzed by using XRD, R-T measurement, AFM, crosssectional TEM, and RBS. For examples of microwave device applications, The fabrication and characterization of the microstrip lowpass filter and bandpass filter are also presented.

  • A low power(9 mW) highly-digitized 2.4 GHz receiver for sensor network applications(IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN) is realized by a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. We adopted a novel receiver architecture adding an intermediate frequency (IF) level detection scheme to a low-power complex fifth-order continuous-time(CT) bandpass L:tl modulator in order to digitalize the receiver. By the continuous-time bandpass architecture, the proposed $\Sigma\Delta$ modulator requires no additional anti-aliasing filter in front of the modulator. Using the IF detector, the achieved dynamic range(DR) of the over-all system is 95 dB at a sampling rate of 64 MHz. This modulator has a bandwidth of 2 MHz centered at 2 MHz. The power consumption of this receiver is 9.0 mW with a 1.8 V power supply.

  • In order to investigate the light curve difference in visual and infrared wavelength of ${\delta}$ Scuti variable Bo Lyn, observations were performed using BOAO 1.8m reflecting telescope and an infrared detector, KASINICS, with J, H, and Ks filters. Infrared light curves of total 7 nights were obtained between March and April in 2011, and those were compared to the V-filter light curve to examine the differences in period, time of maximum light, amplitude, and shape. From the periodic analysis of infrared light curve, a single frequency of $f_1=10.712cycle/day$, $P=0.09335{\pm}0.00002days$ was obtained, and there was no difference in the period along different wavelengths. In the infrared light curve, a frequency of $2f_1$ was detected. This frequency well explains the asymmetric shape of light curve, one of the characteristics of high-amplitude ${\delta}$ Scuti variables. We compared the locations of the measured infrared maxima and the predicted maxima of V-filter, finding that the times of maxima were delayed about 0.3 phase at infrared wavelengths. Amplitude ratios were adopted to be ${\Delta}J/{\Delta}V=0.328$, ${\Delta}H/{\Delta}V=0.216$, and ${\Delta}Ks/{\Delta}V=0.211$, with the range of variation being smaller at longer wavelengths. It seems that the differences in the times of maxima and amplitude occurred because the changes in brightness of a pulsating variable star are mainly caused by the change in temperature.

  • This paper presents a high-efficiency digital class-D audio amplifier using a composite interpolation filter for portable audio devices. The proposed audio amplifier is composed of an interpolation filter, a delta-sigma modulator, and a class-D output stage. To reduce power consumption, the designed interpolation filter has an optimized composite structure that uses a direct-form symmetric and Lagrange FIR filters. Compared to the filters with homogeneous structures, the hardware cost and complexity are reduced by about half by the optimization. The coefficients of the digital delta-sigma modulator are also optimized for low power consumption. The class-D output stage has gate driver circuits to reduce shoot-through current. The implemented class-D audio amplifier exhibited a high efficiency of 87.8 % with an output power of 57 mW at a load impedance of $16{\Omega}$ and a power supply voltage of 1.8 V. An outstanding signal-to-noise ratio of 90 dB and a total harmonic distortion plus noise of 0.03 % are achieved for a single-tone input signal with a frequency of 1 kHz.

  • In this paper a new algorithm named modified delta modulation (MDM) for encoding filter coefficients is proposed. And this paper presents the designing method of multiplier less FIR filters rosin영 Proposed MDM a19orithm. In the delta modulation (DM) system the quantiaation levels consist of two levels $\pm$1, but in newly proposed MDM algorithm quantization levels are extended to many levels 0, $\pm$2$^n$, n=0, 1, 2... It is recognized by the result of computer simulations that frequency response of multi-plierless FIR filters designed by MDM algorithm is relatively good. And comparing with con-ventional FIR filters on the number of hardware devices, this filter needs a little increased memory, but regardless of filter order it needs only one multiplier which is used for signal scaling.

  • This paper presents a low power and high resolution incremental delta-sigma ADC that utilizes a passive integrator instead of an opamp-based active integrator. Opamp is a power-hungry block that involves tight design tradeoffs. To avoid the use of active integrator, the s-domain characteristic of an active integrator is first analyzed. Based on the analysis, an active integrator with low gain design is proposed as an alternative design method. To save power even more aggressively, a passive integrator with no static current is proposed. A 1st order single-bit incremental delta-sigma ADC using the proposed passive integrator is implemented in a 65nm CMOS process. Transistor-level simulation shows that the ADC consumes only 0.6uW under 1.2V supply while achieving SNDR of 71dB with 22kHz bandwidth. The estimated total power consumption including digital filter is 6.25uW, and resulting power efficiency is on a par with state-of-the-art A/D converters.

  • A T$_1$ topological space X is called an almost GP-space if every dense G$_{\delta}$-set of X has nonempty interior. The behaviour of almost GP-spaces under taking subspaces and superspaces, images and preimages and products is studied. If each dense G$_{\delta}$-set of an almost GP-space X has dense interior in X, then X is called a GID-space. In this paper, some interesting properties of GID-spaces are investigated. We will generalize some theorems that hold in almost P-spaces.

  • This paper presents a low power CMOS continuous-time $\Sigma\Delta$ (sigma-delta) modulator for UMTS receivers. The loop filter of the continuous-time $\Sigma\Delta$ modulator consists of an active-RC filter which performs high linearity characteristics and has a simple tuning circuit for low power operating system The architecture of this modulator is the $3^{rd}-order$ 4-bit single loop configuration with a 24 of OSR (Oversampling Ratio) to increase the power efficiency. The modulator includes a half delay feedback path to compensate the excess loop delay. The experimental results of the modulator are 71dB, 65dB and 74dB of the peak SNR, peak SMR and dynamic range, respectively. The continuous-time $\Sigma\Delta$ modulator is fabricated in a 0.18-um 1P4M CMOS standard process and dissipates 15mW for a single supply voltage of 1.8V.

  • In this paper, a small BPF(band pass filter) is designed using new probe type for wireless communication system. The dielectric resonator is used high Q ceramics for low loss characteristic. In order to provide a band pass filter which can be reduced in dimension, can be reduced in height, and can be surface-mounted. The filter was fabricated using $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode dielectric resonator. The input/output probes are attached to coner portion of the rectangular metal cavity. Results of the manufactured filter($12{\times}12{\times}8[mm]$) show that the center frequency is 9.95358[GHz], the insertion loss is -1.9[dB], the 3[dB]_bandwidth is 14.9[MHz], and the loaf Q is 664.
